Buck Stops Here

If we must, we must.
A sighting of Ashley Olsen and Austin at the Chateau Marmont calls for just one thing. A rewind to that very special movie Holiday in the Sun.

Austin played Griffen Grayson, the love interest of not Ashley but Mary Kate's character Madison Stewart. Sun, sand and smuggling the Olsen twins were on the case, finding love and solving crimes on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Fast Forward. In the upcoming film The Informers Austin may play the studio executive boyfriend to Ashley' character Anne.

How many guys can say they have been with both the Olsen twins? (ok, on screen)

And how could he not, if he is using this memorable line from Holiday in the Sun.

Everyone has a hobby, right? You're mine.

This post made me smile and laugh, special. The funny thing is that I can almost picture him using that line in real life. Maybe that's how he finally nabbed Jake. ;)

I've never seen this movie and if I put it in the Netflix queue, the Mrs. is going to think I am insane!

Wicked

Someone has graciously put the movie on You Tube. (I am sure she is probably 12)

Spesh, can I really stoop to watching "Holiday in the Sun" on YouTube...I can, can't I?

Did I really stoop to stand in line and buy the Mary Kate & Ashley movie box set for my niece. Yes, Yes I did.

Austin Nichols to guest star in ‘Friday Night Lights’
By Diane Holloway | Tuesday, September 25, 2007, 03:25 PM

Unemployment didn’t last long for Austin Nichols, the Austin actor who starred as the mysterious surfing savant in HBO’s short-lived summer series “John From Cincinnati.”

Nichols, who also appeared in HBO’s “Deadwood,” has come home for a guest-starring role in the Austin-based NBC series “Friday Night Lights.” He’s not in the Oct. 5 season opener, but his multiple-episode story arc will begin soon after. Executive producer Sarah Aubrey will reveal few details but confirms that Nichols will play a teacher at Dillon High.

Best known in Central Texas as a water-skiing champ, like his mother Kay Nichols, Nichols grew up on Lake Austin, attended Casis Elementary and McCallum High School before heading to the University of Southern California where he earned a degree in creative writing in 2002. His father is radiologist David Nichols.

Who's That --

How awesome is that.

Now Austin as a high school teacher, what are we betting he plays a History or English teacher.

Now will he have his students crushing on him, as well as the teachers? And he might want to look out for those cougar moms.

Back to Jake and Rufus.
Trent at Pink is the New Blog wrote this: "A little bird tells me that the official afterparty was held at Carrie Fisher's home in Beverly Hills and that Reese Witherspoon was the first to arrive. Jake Gyllenhaal also came out for the afterparty, tho he arrived separately."

"Jake Gyllenhaal spotted at Fred 62 in the swanky Los Feliz district. When approached by fans to take a picture, the actor kindly refused."

Just Jared mentioned that Jake and his female lunch date (his publicist) in the Ammo pictures were at Fred 62 of Thursday.

"The pair also grabbed dinner together at 50’s style diner Fred 62’s on Thursday night."

I wonder if it is the same sighting or he went back again.

Here is more about the operatic version of Brokeback from NY Daily News:
Brokeback Mountain" writer Annie Proulx has given the go-ahead to an opera based on her story about two gay cowboys, we hear. Fellow Pulitzer Prize winner Charles Wuorinen will compose. Producer Beckett Swede, whose Future Music has mounted Gordon Getty's operas, is also creating "Popra: Famous for 15 Minutes ... My Years With Andy Warhol," written by former Warhol superstar Ultra Violet.

Special I have a technical question for you: Is it possible for OMG to keep a journal of the songs you kindly play for us?

I don't remember the title of the song which asked if "there was somebody up there when we die" and that kills me (Anthony something or Johnston??? Didn't you play another song by this guy/band recently - Man is the Baby?)

If not, no problem. I'll just take down the title of each song as I hear them because the music over here is really great.

Thanks for posting these news about Austin Who'sthat. In the meantime I'll probably line up at Youtube to watch "Holiday in the Sun"... while waiting impatiently for my copy of House of Usher. ;)

from Just Jared:

"Jake in the Nick of Time
Wed, 26 September 2007

Jake Gyllenhaal grabs lunch at perennial favorite Joan’s On Third (Heroes star Hayden Panettiere ate there last week) in Beverly Hills on Tuesday afternoon. He scooted out of there just in time as ex-girlfriend Kirsten Dunst grabbed lunch at the same restaurant moments later!

And according to E! Online, Jake and Reese Witherspoon not only attended the Rufus Wainwright concert…

“Jake and Reese were sitting by the fire all night, talking,” a fellow party guest confessed. “Everyone was talking, laughing and celebrating Rufus, but they were deep, deep in conversation. It was like there was no one else in the world.”

That should raise some eyebrows!"

This was mentioned on WFT and I think it is very interesting.

Ted named his column: “Staged 'n' Engaged”. Could ‘engaged’ be the meaning of Austin’s new ring?

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. Hopefully I'll have good news to report soon.
Or sorrows to drown.

Yay for Austin on FNL although it would be nice for him to appear on a show we have here in Aussieland

It's funny that he's playing a teacher cause in past times when I've wanted him and Jake to get out of HW and settle down somewhere else, I've completely seen Austin as a teacher.

And NBC is commercial, right? So he could reach more people.

I would love him to play a teacher whom a male student has a crush on.

I would love to see Jake and Kirsten having a catch up lunch. Pity they just missed each other. That would rock my world.

Does anyone think that Erika Christensen might be involved in the Brothers movie and that's why she was seen eating with him and the publicist earlier?

Frenchy, the song you're thinking of is called "Hope There's Someone" by Antony and the Johnsons. We also played "Man is the Baby". Glad you like the songs. I think it is entirely possible to have a song journal. I will work on it. I have an idea on how to do this.
