BTW I hate that the NE article used the picture from Lakers II where A looks great but Jake looks distressed. I still maintain he's struggling not to cry in those pics. For whatever reason.
Has ag been around? I agree with her that the atmosphere on WFT is at times toxic right now. That is mostly down to the bitter, twisted trolls tho'. I just ignore those posts now.

I was just going to say that Chris seems to have borrowed Austin's shirt.
What those photos show me is...(don't shoot me, I know I'm saying something sacrilegious) Austin is ten times hotter than Chris.
I also love the bedhead pictures. Austin seems so smitten and glowing in them.
These pics and the banner at the bottom really show how intimate J&A are spacewise. They keep very little distance between each other. There is clearly more space between J&C and a much more closed body language.
Sad about the toxic atmosphere at WFT. I think it's just a few people bullying on the board. I really wish new Jausty pics would emerge since it's the best cure against trolls. Funny how their theories are always crushed with new sightings of J&A..

I'm so confused. A Toronto-based gossip columnist is reporting that the sparks were a-flyin' between Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon at the Toronto International Film Festival press conference for their film Rendition. But wasn't it just, like, last week that the Internet was buzzing over the story that Jake has been dating actor Austin Nichols for years and that the two are expecting a baby through a surrogate? And, also, that Jake and Austin had been busted for some backseat Californication with a little moo goo gai pan on the side? Gay, straight, straight, gay - I'm having trouble keeping track.
Whether Jake is gay or straight is his own business, of course. I just want to know whether I have shot with him (you know, in that alternate parallel universe where my husband happily agrees to embrace polyandry.) I can take Reese, I figure, but that Austin guy? Too hot. I wouldn't stand a chance."

Nice to see you over here. I only just learned about this site in the last few days.
I hope I didn't have anything to do with you feeling not welcome on WFT. If you ever get that feeling from me again then let me know, I will likely at least clarify what I said if not out right apologize.
I should add the more I look at the US open pictures the more certain I am that they have cut Austin out again. I think this has more to do with keeping things under control until after the birth or the coming out. Every thing about the guy in the white golf shirt screams Austin. Add to the fact that in those pictures Chris is moved even farther away. To the point that he doesn't actually have a seat any more.
I think the NE article is because they have heard what is going down, want a piece of the action but don't have enough evidence to go on or any one who will go on record. They chose the one picture that backed their story, didn't matter how old. I do hope they use one of the Laker I pictures as I can't imagine them getting a better one with Austin when he knows a camera is trained on him.

I love your choices for J & A, special. The only one I would add are Jake's showing-books-to-Austin-in-Borders shots which, to me, sealed it forevermore. Everything he feels for Austin was in those pictures, imo.
I've always loved people, male and female, who are physically demonstrative in their every day way of being. Using their whole bodies to talk, every feature on their faces animating their words, using their voices like an artful tool. Being open, clear, having fun with the human gift of full-on communication. People who can't help but display their feelings, emotions and intent in their body language. That's both Jake and Austin, and that's why I started to naturally comment on what they were showing us.
And I think it's what attracted them to one another; they were both definitely cut from the same cloth in that regard. It stands to reason that they would find such comfort with one another, communicating verbally and non-verbally in a similar way.
Jake's comfort in his own skin and the way he expresses himself full-on, heart on his sleeve, unable to hide a thing (and probably not wanting to) made him ten times more admirable and, yes, off-the-charts hot to me.
I see him with Chris and I see long-time friends with the comfort level of close brothers. Utterly that and nothing more. And yet Jake gives Chris so much of his natural warmth, his attention. Jake's not the macho, closed-off type, he's always very much "together" with Chris. To me, Jake puts a real visible stamp on his being with someone. It's like, "here I am with so-and-so and this is our relationship and I am giving all of me to them right now." Jake is just always very wide open to me. And so I really notice it when he's closed off for whatever reason, too - either conscious or unconscious.
Just to get all forensic for a moment (where is forensic tb, btw?), this is something I noticed last night and it's niggling at me. In the last picture of Jake and Chris that special used, there's some skin next to Jake right by his left leg. It doesn't appear to belong to the person next to him, nor can it be Jake's hand, it would mean his arm is super-extendable, lol. It could be part of Jake's clothing, a turned-out pocket maybe, but it looks fleshed-coloured and, well, floaty. Speaking of floaty, the knee next to him looks rather unattatched as well.

Jonathan Jaxson just updated his video blog--that's where he answers readers' questions. I want to know if he says anything about Jake. I can't go on now because I'm at work but if there's anyone else who can go there--can you let us know if he says anything about Jake and his bf?

Ok, looking at the full version of that picture with Chris, the knee belongs to the woman beside Jake. So the odd little bit of flesh-coloured something is just...something, not a peep, hehe. Maybe something belonging to her or Jake.

After the TMZ trailer story it brought a bunch of new TBers who wanted Jake to come out of the closet and come out now.
After the JJ story it brought a bunch of new TBers who believe Chris is the bf.
When I'm dealing with the majority of both groups I feel like I'm dealing with a born again Christian mentality where they've discovered something new and they must push their agenda, no matter what affect is has on the people who were already there.
There is no respect for why WFT had to start in the first place and for what WFT has gone through. Nor for the TT saga which is what this whole thing is based on.
I don't think it's ridiculous to think Chris is the bf at all. I don't have any problem with people speculating about it.
But WFT is starting to become a Team Austin vs Team Chris vs Team Reese vs Team Baby Tile vs Team Jake get out of the closet now and I feel like people can't even have a varied opinion about the same topic.
Rendition got discussed for about two seconds before it went back to whether or not Jeese were looking at each other and you can't even bring up The Informers without being told to go talk about it at Austin Media.
So I'm doing what was suggested and talking about it elsewhere.
There are no hard feelings and there is no personal grudge against anyone let alone any actual individual.

Thanks I understand what you are saying. I took a break from the whole Jake and Austin thing after Austin's appearance on TV and the small flirt with bearding (with a known beard!) At the time I thought the Baby Tile thing was a joke/line being run on Ted.
I was also really disheartened with people's response to Austin in all of that. I think now that they just wanted the J&A stuff to die down a bit, to limit speculation and give all three of them time. Basically to muddy the waters, primarily for privacy.
It also makes perfect sense for Reese too. In the end she can come out of this looking like a great friend and not nearly as uptight/conservative as people think. Think even of Reese's latest joke about sourthern prostitutes. When asked why she didn't say anything or do anything to deny the rumors she can say because it was about privacy and family and apologize to anyone who she allowed to be misled. That and she did it to get early access to the baby (visit etc.. ;-)
This maybe in the land of fantasy but Reese would also be in a very good position to be a bit of a public spokesperson for them as they are too busy having a baby to deal directly with the press at this time. It may be done in a slightly informal manner but it could go a long way to keeping things going smoothly.
To go out on a limb I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she didn't offer to do it. Remember the BI TED had about a role of life time? Toothy Tiles new beard (or the one that didn't get the Job.) When she was going to return the call to let them know the position had already been filled.
Again Reese doing this I think left a lot of people in Hollywood who are in the know wonder what was going on! Back to the muddying of the waters... You want the front cover and as much exposure as possible then you want the element of surprise.
Then of course there are the BIs about Matt (at least that is who every one thinks it is) being pissed at TT for his lame ass bearding. What he really may have been pissed about is the fact that Jake is coming out, in a big way. Again Ted can't say that without forcing an expectation. Again, suddenly Matt has found the one! In the form of some Brazilian model.
Every thing starts to make sense. I am off drugs too I swear!

There is seems to be one smile that is only for Austin, no one else. Talk about beaming. That is a smile that comes from every part of Jake he truly radiates the love and joy he feels.
press now, i'm totally with you on the photos, following this story you can become slightly obsessed with the wonders of photoshopping, and also dismayed how so call professionals can make such glaring mistakes (Austin of the beach with Sophia Bush for example).
I realise that this little exercise was probably done to protect Austin/Jake but it just too fascinating to see the seating plan change throughout the match. (as I've said before, certain clues are to see how the man in the light blue shirt moves rows half way through and where the woman in the pink t-shirt comes from).

Thank you, joker. I enjoy all the regulars' posts and always have. I really admire the length and depth you all weigh in at. I'm such a binge poster, not posting for ages or posting anon at WFT, and then babbling like crazy here, hehe.
In my experience, every great, subversive, positive, open-minded, welcoming site I've ever called "home" on the internet has eventually been invaded by misguided/clueless newbies, trolls or simply an influx of where-the-hell-did-all-these-people-come-from-all-of-a-sudden. I just brace myself for it every time and before you know it, there it is. And just like all those other times, I've followed the like-minded group who has broken away and set up a new haven. I really hope Dany can, or has the desire to keep WFT alive, though. I'll continue to go there, post and support it. The landscape never stays the same, it'll change again, I'm certain. I feel like there's trolls feeding off of other trolls right now and that can't survive.
Having said that, I see OMG as a sign of a healthy group doing what it has to do right now. This is a strong little limb all on its own and I think it's great that it exists. It has a feel and tone all its own but still embodies the best of WFT.

Yes, trolls invade. But they feed on the dregs of our soul and scum of our thoughts. If they find them, they will feed, grow and dominate.

^ Hehe, that would be cute. I work in a library and I love books in general so I get familiar with the way certain books look. Or new editions of older books. The one Jake is holding sort of looks like a classic novel which are always being published in new guises. But then I look at the shelf we can see in the photo and it looks like new releases, so who knows. I like that it's something private and knowing between them, anyway.
I just had a thought, which is almost always a bad sign but...

Regarding trolls eventually invading the internet. I think the trolls have been here since the start of the Internet. There were even trolls on BBS systems before the general public had access to the internet.
I love that wicked used a Rien Poortvliet illustration of a troll for this blog. The definitive troll, imo! I grew up with his "Gnomes" book; he was a genius.

Rattler, I totally agree with you. I used to remember trolls telling readers at waiting for Toothy being very easy to spot and ignore, since they were the "you tinhat-faghag idiots who believe in a gossip columnist" kind or the Jake MUST be straight variety. These days it is a different pack. I'd say, and I'll live it at that, a certain lack of what you mention and that I cut and paste above, is likely the reason. But it doesn't matter, because OMG is here, thank you for putting up this site I am glad I found it.
Speaking of pics, there are some wonderful pics of Jake and Chris on the red carpet at TIFF with Peter as well. It'son the eyelash thread.
Oh forgot to mention that the bookstore pic posted and the bed-head set are my all time favs.

bltb, Thanks for suggesting the Borders photo and thanks special for posting it. I thought it was lost for good - someone on WFT had mentioned a while back that it had been removed from IHJ and from Buzzfotos. It is one of my all-time favorites - it says so much about Jake's feelings for A. I get the feeling that the two of them love laughing together. I can imagine Austin using his great mimicking skills to keep Jake entertained.
I kind of thought the book might be the story and screenplay from BBM. It resembles the one I have. or maybe not.

It's so wonderful to see all of these pictures, I kept thinking I'd go back and look at the Jausty pictures and compare them to the US Open pictures. It's almost as if Jake is afraid to get too close to Chris, kind of in that straight guy way.
The bedhead pix have always been my favorite. I never really thought about this particular Borders picture, but you are so right bltb. Looking at it after reading your analysis I now feel all gushy inside.

I have read "The Haiku Year" written by seven authors, one of them being Douglas A. Martin - and I liked it very much. It is not a novel, but I am still recommending it.
I just checked out The Informers imdb.com board and there's a thread here about the casting. Someone was worried that the casting wasn't good but then this poster named alexboy piped in and wrote this about Austin:
"You're speaking out of ignorance, and obviously have never watched HBO. Nichols is a genius actor, with a huge future ahead of him."

Hi Frenchy I am ok. Kind of just taken little breather and have been busy at work. I am headed to Fla. tomorrow for a mini Vacation. The worst thing about the latest influx at WFT is new people telling established people to go somewhere else if they want to talk about Austin! WTF!!
I have been going through picture's of Austin's hands for two days now but I can't get enough evidence to tell if the guy in white in the US Open pictures is Austin or if it definately isn't.
For Austin:
- Similar build (body, hand, jawline) and hand gesture in picture 1.
- The black pants look like the ones he wears in the bookshop, coffee and bedhead pictures
- the weird seating in the picture. Just how many different people were sitting next to Jake? Reminds me of what happened with the beach photos. Also Jake seems upset by the paps in the earlier pictures as he did in the recent Jar photos
Against Austin:
- The small mole on the hand (picture 1). I haven't found that in any of Austin's pictures. Also the hand seems a bit slimer than Austin's although it can only be the angle.
- The seating (why would Austin sit behind J&C?)
- no sightings of Austin at the US Opens (although I did have a dream of such a sighting in Gawker but I don't think that that counts as evidence :)

Hopeful, I had a mega-quick glance at the US Open pic and seeing the boney wrist and arm immediately thought it was Austin! I didn't do any forensic comparison though :-)
As for the seating the possibly-Austin person is NOT sitting behind J and C. Have a look. He's in the same row of seats but leaned back, while Jake is leaning forward. I'm sure of that much, if not the identity.
If it was Austin it does raise questions about how pictures can be censored or cut, and who would do such a thing? I'm not a conspiracy theory fan so it bewilders me. On the other hand, I think the beach photos of Sophia and the guys were photo-shopped last year, and that was before the rumors reached the mainstream.
I'm just wondering about the mechanics of how this would work. Wouldn't a photog have complete control over the pictures he's taken? Who else would see them before they are printed? Could it just be that the photog was only interested in Jake, so didn't take a full picture of the while polo man sitting next to him? Can anybody enlighten me.
While I'm here I'm just going to throw my hat into the 'Wildly Speculating about Baby T' ring.
That recent pic of Jake leaving a medical office in which he looks like he's holding an ultrasonic scan picture made me think an unborn baby might already exist. (And I was a real baby skeptic before that).
Somebody previously had said nine months of visits to a doctors around the same time each months implies a baby.
Well, ovulation is at the same time every month. (A couple who are friends of mine used donor sperm and it took them 6 gos to conceive). Some of those visits could be just providing sperm, and the more recent to see the result. Ted never said September for a baby.
Saying that if Baby T exists one should turn up by early next year. So I'll wait a bit longer. :-)
Has anyone here read Bret Easton Ellis' 'The Informers'? I'm planning to read it but just haven't had time yet.

Bltb, love these little analyzes. Have you ever paid attention to the way Jake moves his hands? Maybe you have in previous posts, I don’t remember. He often uses them in a very expressive way.
Press Now, I voted “Maybe” in your Baby Tile poll. Still highly skeptical though. With Heath and Michelle’s recent debacle, I wish our boys took their time and consolidated an out relationship before tackling the heavy job of being new parents.

Sorry just wanted to add that I said this at the time, but although I'm sure Jake wanted to see some tennis, he did choose to be very visible on that day so people knew he was in NY.
I think the media couldn't explain why he wouldn't go straight back to LA with his ladylove, particularly at a time when her daughter would have been having a birthday celebration and also at a time when gay rumours are flying like crazy. Jake doesn't seem to be doing anything to put a stop to those.
NE story not included because I really don't think he had anything to do with them.
