While waiting for me to grab a copy of the latest Interview Magazine with Jake, how about some Austin to tie you over?
How did this slip past us? House of Usher came out on DVD, September 11th in the U.S. A modern interpretation of Edgar Alan Poe's Fall of the House of Usher, it is another chance to catch Austin. Usher is a small independent film that premiered at last year Boston Film Festival. But there are some things you might not know about the film.
Usher was shot in 16 days entirely in Massachusetts for a whopping $200,000. And the house of Usher? That is the Sea View Nursing Home, in Rowley MA, which the owner generously donated to the cast and crew to use. It was business as usual for the residents of Sea View, while crew shot from 2 pm to 3 am during their six days there. Jealous of those grandma's aren't you? The crew used the attic, basement and storage spaces to create the set for the classic horror tale. They also found a hidden door and passageway, as well as greenhouse at Sea View they incorporated this into the storyline.
Sea View's activity director also used the filming to inspire social time. Residents were told Poe's tale of Usher and then discussed how their building was being used to tell the story. Not you average nursing home activity time, now is it?
"I saw them all the time, but I didn't follow them," said Sea View resident Margaret Hertz, 84, of the crew that temporarily shared her residence. "They stayed in their place and we stayed in ours."

From IHJ Jake's Interview cover! He looks so beautiful!!
I really enjoyed Austin in the House of Usher. Very sexy performance ;)
Just wanted to say thanks for doing such a great job with this blog, special. You've been very good at giving us a nice balance of both J & A news.
I also enjoyed the comment from the woman who took the photo with Austin at the ACL festival ("me talking to the best looking man I have ever seen in real life (and he is from TV - my other real life)"). I have a feeling that A's even better looking in person than he is in pics. If people are surprised by how tall Jake is in person can you imagine them when they meet up with Austin?

I have to give Wicked credit, she was the one who said, House of Usher is out, how about that for a post.
We want to highlight both Jake and Austin. They are both talented actors with bright futures ahead both professionally and personally.
And we love suggestions for post ideas. That's what community is about. So if you think something might be a great post drop us a line.
I would like to thank Wicked also for her posts and ideas. She's the one who started this whole thing with Wicked's Wonderful World. The two of you have been a godsend to TBs who love both Jake and Austin.
Attagirl!
Thanks, I've added Usher to my Netflix que. I also discovered they now have Utopian Society available, which was not the case the last time I checked for it.
I think we should not judge the Interview article until we are able to read the whole thing and see the pictures and quotes in context.
Thank you, Wicked.
Always the voice of reason.
Austi Spumanti: Are those the folded wings of a blue-bird on you? Does it say chirp-chirp to Jake's sleepy owl in the morning?
Mister Bluebird's on [his]shoulder
It's the truth, it's actual
Ev'rything is satisfactual
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay ; )
Okaaa-ey,
Special K,
Shall we play -
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah
Zip-a-dee-aay
for Austi, bluebird
and Jakey, eh?
B'er Rabbit and his laughing place?
Oh I think Special was trying to jump in and suggest Woodsy the Owl.
But I think she took it down.
My hub-unit bought me House of Usher in Polish (Dom Usherow) and I contentedly watched Austin, in Polish, 'til hub pointed out the feature that gives you the original language ...
I liked it - very sexy roles for both Austin and Izabella Miko.
