Have Gun Will Travel

With just a little over week till the world premiere of Source Code at this year's SXSW, (Friday March 11th) the push is on and each day brings another little glimpse of what we can expect.

Source Code did a smart thing, they advertised during the Oscars. Smart move. Because you know people who like movies watch the Oscars, and people who like movies GO to the movies. Talk about reaching your target audience.

Just like the loop Source Code is based on, let's review the premise one more time:

When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he’s ever known, he learns he’s part of a government experiment called the “Source Code,” a program that enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re- lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack. Filled with mind- boggling twists and heart-pounding suspense, Source Code is a smart action-thriller.
So basically it's like playing Clue over and over until you figure out who did it, except you know two things it was on a train and with a bomb. Just combine that with more twists and turns than Chutes and Ladders (aka Snakes and Ladders to some).

And for more about SC, check out the newest clip of between Jake and Michelle

and German trailer for the movie. It's a little different than the other trailers that are out and don't mean just hearing Jake "speaking" German.

And it's looks like Source Code might not be Jake's last pistol packing movie.

Variety is reporting that Jake is talk to continue on the action hero road. He is in talk with David Ayer's for a gritty cop drama. Ayer is set to write and direct cop drama "End of Watch," with Jake in early discussions to star. It's a gritty drama that follows the friendship between longtime partners on the force. (Sure bet it's the LAPD, since Ayer's only movie not with a LAPD police officer in it is U-571, about a German submarine) Still early in the process they are still putting the movie together and are out to find financing.

Now Jake in a police uniform cut a little bit snug . Rayban Aviators. Badge and cuffs. The short 'do. Ohmy! Sure half of West Hollywood will get the vapors at the mere thought. too.

Talk about good cop, let's be bad cop!

Now... this may have been the reason for the short cropped hair not just the Oscars. Everyone knows that when Jake is interested in a part he goes all out to convince them he's the right guy. Why look like you fit the part when you're in talks about it.

Let the "Watch" begin.

Why does someone think Austin's sister had another baby last August? Link please to the source. And a link to the filming on Sunday night too.

Hope this new project of Jake's takes off. If they don't even have financing for it yet, it could just be like the other projects Jake has been linked with that have so far gone nowhere.

Ted is a gossip columnist, he's going to write about what he sees and hears. He's not going to out Jake by saying, he's flirting with a girl, but we all know he's gay so it doesn't mean anything. He knows his readers want to hear about Jake/Toothy, and Ted himself has a soft spot for him, so he's going to report on him whenever he gets a chance.

As for Toothy, I don't think Ted knows a thing about what is going on. Toothy and Goose have obviously plugged the leaks in that ship.

Much as I like the idea of Jake as a cop - I love men in uniform- there have been too many ideas linked to Jake that never go anywhere to get excited this soon. When they start filming, I'll get excited.

I happened to be flipping channels and saw that IFC says it will be doing live streaming of the Festival. Not exactly sure what that will cover. They cant show films but it may be a chance to see Jake and Duncan wandering around.

let's also see a link to anything that even remotely suggests there are three (or has the number gone up already?) Baby Tiles being hidden somewhere.

Hmm, well, I could go for Jake in a cop drama. Sounds good. I'd love to see him try.

But if it's going to mean more years of bearding nonsense, count me out then.

Well that, of course, is a ridiculous request, as you well know. Jake and Austin are in the closet and they are having babies in the closet. The closet means hiding the truth. Being secretive. There will be no defnitive proof until someone outs them or they out themselves.

I read this blog every day and anyone who has talked about the possibility of three babies has never suggested that they have smoking gun proof. Just circumstantial evidence. If you don't care to believe there are three or four babies then don't. (I think someone over on WFT2 suggested that one of the births (maybe the second pregnancy) was perhaps a multiple/twin birth).

Everything about Jake, including his sexuality is speculative by it's very nature. The birth of Austin's nephew, however, should not be surreptitious or top secret. So since you made the statement that you know a baby was born to them at the end of August show us the proof. After all, they do not live their lives in the closet.

So, yes, your arrogant assertion that Ashley and her husband had a baby in August is going to be judged by a different standard. Live with it.

I wonder why that person on WFT2 thinks there was a twin birth?

Very well said Burden of Proof.

Nailed gets a screening, but nobody tells the director or cast. Deadline

Also looks like Russell will fight any attempts to list him as the director of the film.

I don't know about the person who posted at Waiting for Toothy 2, but I suspect the theory of Jake and Austin having twins in 2009 has to do with Ted’s posts beginning in the summer of 2008. Not only does he consistently suggest a second baby is on the way, but he uses the term multiple several times, pluralizes words to imply more than one, and even uses the odd phrasing of “Three in one” when he responds to one of the Toothy letter writers.

Examples:

August 13, 2008

Dear Ted:

What describes Toothy Tiles's situation better: "Single Tile," "Mr. and Mr. Tile" or "Family Tile"? Please, could you include clues and hints more often about him? What happened to that great idea to dedicate one day a month to only Toothy questions?
Ashley
London

Dear Multiple Choice:
Family Tile. Don’t remember committing to one day a month trying to ferret out T.T.’s identity. Still, don’t think that’s enough for my taste.

August 29, 2008

Dear Ted:
Ted, I love your wit, and the new retina-burning format is starting to grow on me. You said there's a Baby Tile — is there another one on the way? Is it Ben Affleck?
—Scutten

Dear Baby Q:
Such the good guess, babes, so right in so many brunet directions, alas, it's the wrong two-timing type.

September 9, 2008

Dear Ted:
I have read all your Toothy Tile items and I know who he is. My guess, and I know no one has guessed, is Channing Tatum. He has to be. I also want to throw in Emile Hirsch and Chris Evans just in case.
—Carson

Dear Three in One:
What's Baby Tile, chopped gossip? Negative on all three, but right age group.

Yes, well said, Burden of Proof.

Love that cashmere sweater.

Boy, what a gorgeous day today here in the ol' JoCo. Just beautiful.

Just found out I won't be dogsitting this weekend - kinda sad. I was looking forward to seeing ol' Kirby and crazy little Maizie. But I'll see them at the end of the month so that's okay.

And thus it will be 1/2 day of BIG V tomorrow and then all day Monday! Running amuk!! Cannot wait. I hope to get some writing done.

Nice catches on the "multiple" mentions, M&M. You are a human wonder with the archiving.

You're like that sheriff in Blazing Saddles. Excuse me while I whip this out! Bam! Bam! Bam!

LOL! Not quite, but I am pretty good with a can opener!

Thank you, M&M. You guys are terrific. I had never noticed how important the Summer of 2008 was to the Family Tile Saga. The "Three in One" really stands out as a clue, doesn't it? Toothy and two more. Interesting too how the question wasn't even about Baby Tile, yet Ted made sure to work that into his "Three in One" answer. Wow! Possibly four babies? So wonder Jake looks so tired all the time.

Can't believe how soon SC will be upon us. I like the new trailer, and Jake's voice and the stare when he says 'do you know me well enough that if I did something that looked a little strange and maybe even a little dangerous and I told you to trust me anyway that you could do that?' only MM's character needs to say yes, not no. ;)

You just brought a smile to my face this evening. Was going through some mapping for Calgary Alberta yesterday for other reasons... and came across Beiseker, not too far north and east of the city recalling it to be one of the BBM filming sites. Went one further and got lost in all kinds of images of the old Twist Ranch. Still means so much to so many people who were touched by Brokeback Mountain.

According to Assisted Reproductive Technology, about 30% of IVF deliveries are twins compared to only 1-2% of spontaneous pregnancies.

Huh? Who asked for "definitive proof"? No one. How is asking for a "link to anything that remotely suggests" the same as asking for proof? It's not. No one can provide any links that even remotely suggest that there are THREE babies because they don't exist. And how do Ted's answers from years ago indicate anything at all about a third baby when the third baby supposedly was just born this past summer?

You are most welcome, Seaweed. I know Jake blathered on and on about Love and Other Drugs, being a modern day love story, but that film is a joke compared to the upclose truth and personal intimacy of Brokeback Mountain. You sure can bet Ang Lee didn't ask Heath and Jake to talk for two weeks about what turned them on. That's because he understood that love is about capturing true private moments between two souls drawn together by fate, circumstance and temperament. Brokeback Mountain has an organic naturalness that doesn't require such obviously contrived stunts.

Speaking of BbM and traveling down memory lane, are you familiar with this site, Seaweed?

There are places we can't return

prairiegirl said...

Wow, that site is cool, M&M. I know I haven't ever seen that before.

What do you reckon that "The Rifle" deleted scene is from? From one of their camping trips?

I'd always heard about the hippies. Think I heard about the mechanics, too but I don't know how the mechanics fit into the story.

And how true that Ang Lee never would have needed two weeks for the actors to have a sex camp like old Zwick had to for LAOD.

Geez.

Have you even been paying attention, at all? There is no one or two links to confirm three BTs. You have to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Starting with the first post from Ted in 2007 about Tooth and bf domesticating and having a baby through swirling their love juices together. Then carry that thread through to August, 2010 when Austin mysteriously shows up in Leadville, the family begins to gather in LA and we get the infamous "Cabin Fever" pic of Jake who is obviously upset that the paps have followed him to this suburban place in LA. Jake lives in the Hollywood Hills. Why did he need to hide out anywhere? Go back and review OMG posts.

prairiegirl said...

Oh never mind, I'm the doofus. Wow, below the pictures is the lines that would've taken place.

I don't like The Rifle. Stupid Ennis - refusing Jack's gift. So sad - so many times he hurt Jack.

**sigh**.

Methodical Muser said...

but I don't know how the mechanics fit into the story.

When you see the beginning of the Brokeback movie trailer, you see two guys, one older in the forefront the other younger in the background. They are the garage mechanics who might have been the ones who killed Jack. Ang said that he filmed the ending several different ways (including the tire blowing up and Jack bleeding to death along the road), but decided to have the audience decide/interpret for themselves how Jack had actually died.

Catching up with everything after a long day. Whew!

Thanks for the info about the screening for Nailed, Destiny. I found a little bit of a review of the evening and the movie as it is, over on /Film.com

They are saying that Tracey Morgan fares the best with the movie. But the overall comments from the rough rough cut are not that good.

LOL Total loons on this site.

Teds comments and everything that happened this past summer, especially Jake dropping out of sight for most of the summer then the odd pop ups of both him and Austin and family (both sides) around the same time in August, looks like the flock is bigger than first thought. Sounds like Austin has a lot of experience to direct the episode where all the babies are born.

For those who saw OTH, Austin did a great take passing out when Haley told him it was time, the baby was coming. Wonder what he's reaction was the first time he heard that in real life. Knowing him he would grab a toaster pastry before heading out. (For those who watched this past ep of OTH)

Did any one watch the German trailer for Source Code? It is just weird to hear another voice that is so different sounding (not the language but the tone and timbre) coming out of Jake's mouth.

And have always wanted to see Jake as good cop gone bad. Can totally picture him in the uniform on patrol. Maybe tap some of those darker places he did in DD and GG.

Thanks for that link M&M, I seem to recall that one from years ago but it held up well in the last five or six years.

I really have a strong desire to visit Calgary in any case and make the rounds of some of the shooting locations. I think a lot of the folks from some of the old gathering spots like Bettermost have made a pilgramage or two.

I watched the German trailer as well Special and its quite different as you said, to hear another voice seemingly attached to Jake.

You know I'm tired when I don't even have the energy to visit my favorite site. But I just had a nap and made it before midnight. Last night I caught just a few minutes of BBM on Logo before shutting the TV off. It was the scene right after the divorce. Heartbreaking. But on viewing it after a long time I was struck by how much intimacy jack and Ennis displayed. The hug, the smiles, they eye contact. Ang Lee is a master.

Special, I didn't watch the OverTheHill episode but I did watch the trailer and saw Austin's fainting scene.

LOLLLL!! That killed me. How does one do that? I mean, fall. I don't care if you do have 6 feet of foam waiting for you. Your natural instinct is to not want to fall. It was a great faint.

And yeah, if he & Jake do have twins, could see this type of reaction.

I couldn't imagine. Just like Just Asking said, if that would be the case, no wonder Jake has looked so doggone tired, sleepless and kind of ratty at times.

Will never forget those "cabin" pictures. He looked like he had literally slept in those clothes.
