Can't believe how long it's been since Jake's stopped by The Daily Show.
I still wish Jake would lean across the desk, look into Jon's eyes and sing "Red and yellow and pink and blue, purple and orange and green, I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow sing a rainbow too" just for Jon's reaction.
Not for the reason you are thinking. Because it's the theme song for kids show in Philly (Hello all you Capt. Noah fans!) that Jon was on, playing in a brass band, as a kid.

I think it's strange that Jake went so long without being on the Daily Show, I know Jon Stewart loves him because the last time Maggie was on he said something about getting Jake back on the show, so I don't think the lack of appearances was due to the Daily Show.
Destiny - I went back and looked when I was working on the post. Jon was in reruns during PoP and for Love and Other Drugs promotions, and Jake only did Kimmel for Brothers.

jake and Jon were great together. Surprised at one of the questions, but Jake gave a great answer (I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it). Jake seemed really comfortable and he looked great.
I enjoyed the Daily Show interview too. It did not seem rehearsed and the questions, comments were fresh, repartee was not the same old, same old. The whole show was good really. I had not watched it in a long time. I'll keep quiet about the details and my opinion about one item in particular until everyone gets a chance to view the video.
I tried ONTD this AM but could not get in. Its fine tonight though.
For me LJ (including ONTD) is not working at all, saying something about a severe DDoS. So we'll have to wait.
Yup, I thought Jake looked great. Jon S was clever and rather interesting in the skits that he had and the questions that he had for Jake.
I found it verrrrry interesting the skit that he had regarding the internet and being unable to "erase" things that have been put out there, been tweeted, etc. What a coincidence and just before Jake came on.
Very interesting as well the mention two times having found a girl for Jake and her being 14 yrs old.

Good thing I check out other certain sources or I would have missed this very interesting little Travel Channel Exclusive that Soapy is putting on over at her twitter.
I think what has been happening on OMG here is exactly what Jake's PR is wanting. They want Austin forgotten and shoved under a rug while their client embarks on a very important movie tour. The buzz is good on this movie and you can tell Jake is charged up for it. He's miraculously smiling in all of his pap photos. Gee, who would've thunk? He's got the rugged construction worker look going.
And Jake's PR cannot afford to have Austin around, even in the 48 continental United States during this very important opportunity for their client.

Okay, back to what I was doing.
Austin has been shipped off. Bags packing. Sent away out of the country no less. This has been planned since October last year, changed once and pushed up two weeks when Source Code's opening was pushed up. Because originally Austin was supposed to go in April. He tweeted it. Then all of a sudden it became March.
So when he comes back, a HA! Jake will be off to Madrid and then Germany. Two Titanic ships passing in the night.
This is why I am beginning to think Austin was with Jake for that 1 1/2 or so days Austin was so briefly in L.A. Austin told us very specifically he was leaving from L.A. So before he was shipped off, he & Jake were probably grabbing every minute they could together.
Just a theory.

Meanwhile, back in the States, Soapy began her part in the whole, what-they-thought-was-so-clever plan. She begins by tweeting this roll of film at everyone.

Telling us she's leaving on a 7-day cross-US roadtrip from Wilmy to L.A. with all her stuff and her dog. Being very careful to tell us her other dog is already in L.A.
Riddle me this. If these 2 are such a charity-minded couple, why wouldn't Austin wait for her to get back from P.R. first?
Why couldn't Austin wait just a couple more days for Sophia to get back and then they could have gotten the U-Haul and done this trip together? Then they could have gone to Indonesia together?
If they are such a "couple", why not do that?
Instead, Austin can't wait to get his ass out of Wilmy, hastily leaving his Recyclables out two days early and he's off to L.A. with one brief "Bye honey! Can't wait to see you again!" tweet that had the impact of a squashed bug.

She takes pics of "moo-cows". A dive taco stand in Dallas (that has Austin's name all over it) and then is poised to note that now she is stopping in Austin, giving recommendations on eating places and the like.
Tell me this, show of hands. Who can picture Soap doing a 7-day road trip with lamps and dishes and a big pit bull?
When one is making a trip like this after leaving their job, who wants to be making all kinds of tourist stops along the way? And what do you do with that dog while you're making all of these stops?
See, this is what a beard does. She is the voice of Austin while Austin is in Indonesia.
Indonesia apparently has no cell towers. No internet. His twittering has been silenced and Soap is The Official Voice of all that is happening.
Just one thing.
Just Jared Eng made a twitter on the 29th, placing Sophia in L.A. Apparently either he or someone else spotted her in L.A.
And Soap corrects him.

Tell me this. How did Soap know that he had tweeted her in L.A.? Who alerted her to this? Because boy, she sure responded awfully quick.
I would love to have seen his tweet. I don't know if he says he saw her or someone else clued him in on the sighting. The tweet is gone and gee, can't seem to find it retweeted anywhere else. Isn't that something.
But boy, we sure have the correction and his apology on record.
Why if you were driving across country would you get to Dallas (North Texas) and then go South and a little east to go to Austin? Austin is 3 hours south of Dallas.
If you were driving across TX you wouldn't do both cities.

This is how panicky Jake's people are. Austin probably drives his people as nuts as he does the trolls. Slap a big S on Austin's chest because this is the power that he has.

Nice interview of Jake on GMA. Production played Hot Chocolate's You sexy thing for the teaser when they went to the commercial before the interview.
Robin tried to pull off a rewind kind of introduction, a little awkward. They talked about the movie, Robin said she loved it. Jake said that Duncan kept telling him to make it weirder, talking about the scenes.
Talked about if he sustained any injuries which let to his shoulder, and then GMA showing a clip from City Slickers making a face and popping his double jointed shoulder at the birthday. They said that people tweeted their favorite Jake movie - October Sky first, BBM second.

It is great to see Jake with his Dad.
And it is great to see him smiling. Unfortunately, this is how it is with him now, though. Because he had stopped smiling in his pap pictures for so long, the fact that he's doing it now so readily just before SC comes out, creates a doubt in my mind that it's a natural act.

Carrie Ann Inaba is guest co hosting and the surprise is that she is going to get engaged on the show, and doesn't know it.
Jake comes out with a ring and says I found this in your dressing room and said it was an engagement ring, playing along to lead up to the big surprise later.
Regis tells everyone about Jake turning thirty and what a decade of movies he had in his twenties. Jake talks about how it is nice to bookend it first with Darko and now Source code.
Talking about his birthday: "Someone very special to me wished me the gift of discovery." (Hmm Mr. Nichols, discover what?)
Regis asked Jake about dating if there is anyone, which Jake gets out of answering, and then says "Maybe you might get in engaged. Or are you holding until you're 40?"
Reeg confused about the movie in the way only Regis can be Jake tried to explain Source Code.
Cute interview. As they cut away you can hear Jake telling Regis his surgery will go well, it will be fine. And you hear him say (I'm paraphrasing) I get anxious about stuff like that too, before they cut to commercial.
Jake is calling in to Ryan Seacrest on KIIS this morning too.
Jake and Howie just came back out to celebrate Carrie Anne getting engaged on the show. Champagne all around. (didn't see Jake take a sip though) Regis admitted he didn't know what Jake was doing showing up with a fake engagement ring earlier in the show.
I wish I had set my dvr for that. I like Carrie Ann Inaba. She's one of the judges for DWTS.

Discover what? is right. If you really think these two are a forever-couple hiding deep in the closet, that would be a pretty stupid and hypocritical wish.
I have not seen todays interviews but I always marvel at Jake's avoidance of gender in sentences relating to his dating life. And the comment last night about the woman he fell in love with at first sight being his mother. Heartwarming, but also why his PR staff goes nuts. Does anyone now doubt that the man is gay. Straight men do not need to dodge such questions. Still, I am pleased that he goes to the effort to not sell out completely. I still have hope that he will come out and this type of careful behavior makes me think he is keeping that option open.
Do we know why Austin is in Indonesia, apart from PGs theory? Did he ever say? Is he filming?
One more day to go for Source Code. I do plan to see it this weekend, in a theater rather than wait for DVD. I hope the box office is good for Duncan and Jake's sake. HOP looks like it is a contender.
Lots of good points PG and Special about the whole Sophia road trip. It would really be a hassle to be dropping off that dog somewhere every time she goes and does something touristy. And why just one dog?
And yeah, the whole taking separate trips like that is puzzling for a couple that is sooooo in love. Also thought immediately the whole Dallas and then Austin made no sense geographically either.

So once again, Patches sits out in the car while she goes inside and antique shops??? Not sure what the weather was on the 29th, but today it's supposed to get up to 84 and tomorrow, it's getting up to 90.

Here's how Jake almost blew the surprise engagement on Regis & Kelly
At the start of the show, Regis asked Carrie Ann about her beau, who was in the audience, and she discussed the rumors from earlier this year that claimed she was already engaged. She held up her ringless finger by way of disproving the reports.
"He's just a really good guy," she told Regis of her soon-to-be fiancé, when Philbin, setting up the audience as much as Inaba, asked her to elaborate on why her man was so special. "He takes good care of me and he's really warm. He loves my cats—we have five cats together—not a lot of men accept a girl who has so many cats."
Then out came Jake, and he brought a curious prop along with him: Carrie Ann's engagement ring. Though she of course wasn't aware that it was her engagement ring at the time.
Handing it to her to try on, Jake informed Carrie Ann that he found the bauble in her dressing room, with a note attached to it, reading, "Do not touch, engagement ring."
"Is that yours?" he asked. "It's not, it's not, I just stole somebody's…" he said, trailing off as Carrie Ann giggled away.
"Come on, it's time to start telling the truth!" Gyllenhaal later added.
Other than confusing Carrie Ann, the bit allowed Regis to joke that Jesse better hurry up since Jake had clearly just put his bid in.

I had forgotten he said that - I thought maybe it was a dig at ol' Tay.
Interesting how Soap found out so quickly that Jared Eng tweeted a sighting of her in W. Hollywood. Does she follow Just Jared on twitter? Or did one of her people alert her? Or another fan on twitter?
This is all she & Austin have right now to peddle this fauxmance now - twitter. The show's over and they can no longer rely on OTH fangirls visiting Wilmy, charity events around Wilmy and all those fan pictures.
Thus, she's burning up the laptop with her tweets.
Okay, well I'm done blowing big ol' potholes in her little cross country traipse. Think my lunch hour is over and time to get back to the ol' saw mill. We have very important visitors here today so everyone is on their very best behavior!!
