Parkland Progresses

Jake has two movies premiering at film festivals this fall,  but he's not he only one,  Austin's film Parkland has a impressive festival premiere as well, at the Toronto International Film Festival.

"Recounting the chaotic events that occurred in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963, "Parkland" weaves together the perspectives of a handful of ordinary individuals suddenly thrust into extraordinary circumstances: the young doctors and nurses at Parkland Hospital; Dallas' chief of the Secret Service; an unwitting cameraman who captured what became the most watched and examined film in history; the FBI agents who nearly had the gunman within their grasp; the brother of Lee Harvey Oswald, left to deal with his shattered family; and JFK's security team, witnesses to both the president's death and Vice President Lyndon Johnson's rise to power over a nation whose innocence was forever altered."

Parkland stars Paul Giamatti as Abraham Zapruder, the man with the camera, Colin Hanks, Jeremy Strong as Lee Harvey Oswald, Zac Efron as a rookie doctor, Billy Bob Thornton as Forrest Sorrels, the head of Dallas' Secret Service office, Jacki Weaver as Oswald's mother Marguerite and Marcia Gay Harden as the head nurse in the trauma room. We still don't know Austin's role, but Dallas police might be a contender with the picture he tweeted during production.

The movie is based on the book "Four Days In November," by renowned author and former prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi.

Parkland is already getting some Oscar buzz.  Great job Austin!   So maybe this year Jake will be the plus one to all the parties.

If you want to catch Parkland, it will be opening in the US in limited release starting September 20th.

I did not realize Austin was going to be in that movie. The buzz on it is very good so far. Sounds like an interesting twist and a movie I might see in the theater.

Great theories posted in the last day or two. Especially about the change in management and why they worked out a deal for the beard. I dont know much about the modeling industry, but her looks are just too ordinary. She looks like 1000 other models out there.

Jake as Batman? That would be a huge mistake. He could not pull off POP, and convincing an audience that he was Batman would be even harder. He might wind up being laughed at.

From the new Star Magazine:

“Maggie plays cupid for Jake

Jake Gyllenhaal’s love life is a family affair – he has his sister Maggie, to thank for his new romance with model Alyssa Miller. Maggie, 35, has been advising the 24-year-old Sports Illustrated beauty on how to handle her commitment-shy sibling. Jake, 32, tends to run for the hills when he thinks things are getting too serious, but his sister is trying to make this relationship stick. “Maggie thinks Alyssa is great for her brother”, spills a close family friend. “She told her not to push for a commitment and to give Jake plenty of space. He likes independent women.” Could one of Hollywood’s hottest bachelors finally be settling down? “

That is some funny stuff. I feel so embarrassed for Jake. God I hope he does not read thus stuff. If he did I would understand why he might wanna kill himself.

Not the cupid angle again. Wasn't there an article in June about how Maggie wanted Jake to get back together with Kirsten Dunst? And, Maggie hasn't even been around to be involved with this "romance" at all. She's been in England for sometime now. Embarrassing is right. I can't wait until Gwyneth Paltrow gets involved. We'll probably hear next how she introduced the "happy pair."

Wow I keep looking at the pic of Jake walking with this girl. I swear she has a baby bump. Don't put it past them if Jake wants to be Batman.

Yotam Ottolenghi: why I'm coming out as a gay father

When my son Max was born six months ago, I didn't think it was anybody else's business. But after five years of trying to become a father, I've decided to share the long, hard road to gay parenthood

When Max came into our lives six months ago, Karl and I wanted to keep it private. There's work, there's public life, there's Twitter and all the rest. Then there is Karl and Max and me and our own little world. Sod the rest.

But we soon realised how naive, even egotistical, this was. We both came out as gay men at a time when, on the surface, things were normalised. Neither of us had experienced serious bullying or obstacles in our career paths. But, actually, we were not completely liberated ourselves. We still had a few serious chips on our shoulders, and one of them was about keeping aspects of our lives private. The moment to tell my barber I was gay just never came up. Funny that.

When Karl and I met Melanie, who turned out to be the key to our parenthood, she said that she had first become interested in alternative parenting while watching The Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah! My radar beeped frantically with unease about privacy and the American way of making everything public. What was this obsession with exposure? There were definitely unresolved issues that made people go out and tell Oprah everything about themselves.

But it was me, of course, with the unresolved issue. At the end of a five-year process, I know we can't be shy about telling our story, that privacy just isn't an option. That's because we could only have had Max, and hopefully also a future sibling, thanks to other people who have shared their stories – even if that happens to be on cheesy talkshows. Max has already brought us immense joy. He has also forced our second coming out, this time as gay parents....

If anyone is wondering the pic I am referring to is in the post SK put up Wednesday. The second from the bottom. Jake and his fake gf are walking hand and hand and she is wearing a long dress with a split in the front. If you look at her mid section it looks like there is a little bump. Maybe my eyes deceive me. She also took a pic at the ob/gyn doctor's office. Don't put it past him.

If she is I am sure the father would be her real bf. They could certainly pawn it off as Jakes. He would finally have the children he wanted. I am not hoping this is true but I just won't rule anything out.

I think the speculation that Jake's mom is behind the manufacturing of his beardings is right. It was said here Naomi is "ohmeohmy1" on instagram and she keeps commenting on the beard's instagram. There is a particular comment posted August 1 on a picture of what appears to be Alyssa's new home with the caption “My new happy place” and ohmeohmy1 comment is "Welcome home!!". I remember the planted tweet from a few weeks ago about Jake looking for a townhouse in NYC. Does she want to start the rumor she moved in with Jake? That Naomi lives with them? I am sure Page Six will have the official PR plant on the matter soon to go along with this picture! beards instagram

Absolutely Jake's mom was behind Jake's decision to start bearding from the very very beginning. Jake's dad pretty much told us. He said he felt bad for his son. I think she will get him to go along with anything. I believe the reason Austin may be not as nerved out about all the lies is that he does not have to deal with mom much. I am sure there is very little love lost between Austin and Mon.

Not the my sister is involved in the romance story again! Doesn't PR realize that makes Jake look weak. It's cute when you are 16 to 20. But at 32, a man needs to stand on his own two feet and have his own opinions. Really lame. This is probably the beginning of the end.

can't tell said...

She also took a pic at the ob/gyn doctor's office.

I've seen the pic in question but nowhere in that pic could I tell what sort of medical office she was in.

Tom, what in that photo makes you think it was a Gyn examination room?

Kismet said...

Tom, I don't think so on the pregnancy thing.

For one thing, having been pregnant and being a slim person, I did not start showing even a peep until 10 weeks.

But more importantly, she had these IMG promo photos taken two weeks ago.

Alyssa's motivation in this is her career, which has been stagnant. Pregnancy and modeling don't mix until you are very established. And although some have speculated she has aspiration towards acting... I urge you to google a video of her speaking voice, and rest my case.

Kismet said...

@the real m, yep Maggie is the fall guy. By setting her up as a meddling sister it always provides a reason for the breakup.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Jake had a short-lived marriage the way Clooney did just to have it on his record. Clooney's marriage is always cited as evidence that he's not gay even though it was very short and 20 years ago.

If Jake and Alyssa get engaged quickly, then we'll know that's what this is. They have gone 0-60 SO fast, and all of the planted stories have "this is the real thing" message (um, how would you know after 4 weeks exactly?).

A few days ago, a supposed peen-loving Hollywood leading man, put on a mask and peeked out the closet door when he posted a note on Reddit Confessional about what it’s like being a closeted movie star with a beard girlfriend.

I’m a well known American film actor and I’m a closeted homosexual.

I will not reveal who I’ve worked with or what I’ve starred in obviously, as I don’t want to be identified. I love my career, and I know I would lose my leading man status if I ever came out. I feel terribly guilty about many different things.

First of all, I feel like I’m misleading my fans. I know a lot of women watch my movies to watch me, and part of that is fantasy, and I feel like it’s all based on a lie. They do a lot market analysis in Hollywood. I get told about which demographics I do well with, and I feel like I’m misleading so many people, or letting them down. I am dating another well known personality, and we’ve been publicly together for a while now. I know she expects to get married, the press expect us to get married, but of course this would be a great disservice to her. Truth be told I think she knows. She is a wonderful woman and a wonderful person and I don’t deserve someone as loving and trusting in my life, and I truly do love her, but I’m not in love with her, and sex with her, despite her beauty, is difficult for me.

I also feel terribly guilty because I know there are so many gay kids out there and I feel like by not coming out, and not providing that public display of being gay and being successful I’m letting them down. Public figures like Ellen DeGeneres coming out when I was younger made a huge difference to me, and I feel like I should be paying it forward, but I’m too afraid of my whole life being ruined.

I’ve only told a few people. I’ve been with two men since my career has started. Both have been, thankfully, very discrete. My two best friends from before I became mainstream know, and have been supportive. I’ve told two gay actors who have come out because I trusted they would keep it to themselves, having been in the same position. They were comforting and told me to do what I needed to do, but it didn’t assuage my guilt at all. I tested the water with my agent, who basically told me “Faggots don’t make it in this town,” and then went on to basically explain that he would never represent a gay man because the effort versus the money just makes it not worth it to him. It frankly terrifies me. I just wanted to get it out there.

Dude also said in the comments under his post that his agent won’t let him come somersaulting out of the closet, because his agent is big shit in Hollywood and he needs a big agent for his career to keep climbing up. He thinks his beard might know that he’s thinking about humping a giant peen when he’s humping her, but he doesn’t want to break up with her, because he’s afraid the tabloids will look deeper into his personal life if he does.

So basically, this dude is American, a big movie star and is dating a famous chick. Yeah, this is probably some fanfiction shit written by a crazed Ryan Gosling fan, but I’ve got nothing better to do than guess. I could give my stank-smelling dog a dry bath or take my car to the gas station car wash or scream at Time Warner and those whores at CBS for keeping me away from Ray Donovan, but I’ll throw out guesses for this probably fake blind item instead.

It’s not Ryan Gosling, because he’s Canadian a Google search tells me that his agent is a woman. It’s not George Clooney, because nobody expects him to put a wedding ring on his finger. It’s not Will Smith, Channing Tatum or Ben Affleck, because they’re all married. That leaves Bradley Cooper! Or maybe this is John Travolta writing as his 20-something self?

FAKE said...

Andrew Garfield?

I reads FAKE. I know a lot of gay actors are not "out" even to their agents (a surprisingly high number). And that some gay actors still fake it with women and some beards are in the dark. But this just seems so fake, especially the follow up Q&A where this person suggests most actors are on Reddit GIVE ME A BREAK no they aren't. Also this person seems way too kind and empathetic for Hollywood--not narcissistic enough.

Good guess said...

Andrew Garfield would be a good guess but i was always thought both he and Emma Stone are gay.

No clue who that could be but its not Jake. He rambles and weaves around when talking and I am sure he would do the same if writing. It's just not his style of speaking, though the message still applies.
