Zig to Zag

Jake has been all over since the beginning of May - Vegas, Cannes, Italy, New York, DC, Los Angeles.  And has been rumored with so many different "dates" you need a score card and case of the zig zags. 

This weekend is no different.  Last night Jake picked up the Guy Con award at 2015 Spike TV Guys Choice Awards, in LA, with his co-star Rachel presenting him the award for the second time he played a guy in trouble law.  This time he's not a surrogate father like in Brothers and it's boxing and not building that is the comeback.

 Tonight, it's the Annual Tony Awards, and no doubt Jake winged his way back to NYC for the festivities even if he missed out on being nominated for Constellations. No doubt he will be there to support his co-star, of the two person play, Ruth who is nominated for best actress.   That's what you do for the co-star/sister/rumor date/random rumored kisser,  right?

Wait - are we talking Ruth or Rachel?

 That's enough confuse the public, (or is that the point there buddy)


Anyway,  maybe you should just do what you did back in 2013 Jake, when you Spiked and Tony'd it then. 

Make The Tony's a guys night again. Hey can still do the co-star thing, just bring that long-time cutie co-star you were with in Italy, and no we don't mean Ms. Greta.

Austin showing off his Austin and from the looks of it the view is from his Mom & Dad's.  Austin's talked about his parents living on the lake and the ridge/canyon during interviews back when he was guest staring on Friday Night Lights.

Austin has had the opportunity to work in his hometown twice.  First with Friday Night Lights and then on Parkland. Wanna bet he wants to work there as much as he can?

Now the question is this gorgeous picture of the Texas sky real (as in real time) or Memorex (ie taken when he was working on Parkland)?

Either way it shows off the beauty and one of the things Austin loves about his hometown.

And for sure we all know by now he is one proud Texan and Austinite.

Tex for Tat

This weekend is one of the biggest rivalries in all of American sports Univ. of Texas vs. Oklahoma for college football. And we all know Austin is a proud Longhorn fan.


But would he show his Texas pride with a tat? The mind wanders wonders:

Fran Healy and Andy Dunlop of Travis were back talking their inspirations at their“A Chronological Acoustical Journey Through The Travis Back Catalogue: Laugh Out Loud Stories, Scottish Accents, Handsome Scottish Men, Naked Torsos” show again. They didn’t deliver on the “naked torsos” promise but delivered slides, a pole poll and Jake in Austin. (their Austin show)

What the Texas is Austin doing in these pictures?

Has it finally happened, the long arm syndrome has gotten to him? Is he giving subconscious hints about being the Goose? Or, is he trying to do the Chicken dance and no one else will join in?


Ok - I'm going to just put it behind my back, look natural and into the camera. Damn I should have unbuttoned my jacket. No it doesn't look like I am trying to hide anything, I am just standing at ease.

Gotta give some Texas love today.

Austin does what every good Texan fan/alum does when he hears "The Eyes of Texas" he hooks 'em.

"The Eyes of Texas" is the Alma Mater of the University of Texas at Austin and is sung to the tune of "I've Been Working on the Railroad".

Its is also the Alma Mater of University of Texas El Paso,(UTEP) which was called also Texas College of Mines and Metallurgy (TCM). During the 1960's it was also know as Texas Western. If that rings a bell it should. The movie Glory Road is the story of Texas Western's historic win over the University of Kentucky in the 1966 NCAA National Basketball Championship.

FYI: Glory Road is the road that runs between UTEP's two basketball arenas.

Hook 'em Horns

The turkey and fixin's are put away safely in the fridge, you're sure that you'll never eat another thing, ok maybe you will eat a slice or two of pie. Hey pumpkin is a vegetable and apples are fruit!

But today is a bigger day than Thanksgiving in the great state of Texas. One word Football. And today is Game Day. Cowboys vs.The Jets - please that was yesterday. Today is - Texas vs. Texas A&M. While the rivalry is not as hyped as it once was, and maybe because the UT - Oklahoma game has overshadowed the A&M game in the past few years, today is all about braggin' rights, and that some big braggin' when you're talking Texas.


You know where Austin is heart is. Longhorn through and through and it looks like Jake feels the same. Sure bet is they both will be watching the game. So boys, here's to BBQ and Shiner Beers - if you guys need to get a little Hollywood, go on down to Sprinkles and get those cupcakes with the Longhorn logo on them.
