Pics from yesterday of Reeke, Deacon, Atticus, and an unknown woman at that well known pap hangout, Malibu State Park. Who is the woman with them? Anybody recognize her?
I am not excited about the Prince of Persia thing either, but I voted for Yes... because I think Jake might still be able to add something good to such blockbuster. Certainly, selfishly I'd rather have him being tortured by Fincher 100 times than doing a Bruckheimer production, but it's something new, maybe he can pull off something closer to "Sin City" than "Pirates".
As for the Austin poll.... I don't have 100% faith, but I voted for somewhere with Jake, cos I'd like to remain a hopeless romantic :)

PoP - could be a great move for him. Call me crazy.
PoP could be great, bad or not really important career move, there are no guarantees.
Few examples:
Brendan Fraser & The Mummy - didn't do much for his movie career.
Ben Affleck & Dare Devil - bad movie and bad move.
Gorgeous George & Batman & Robin - horrible movie but it didn't hurt his career.
I voted "Yes" for Prince of Persia because I feel, if done well, it could be good and not something cheesy. Plus, it could appeal to a wide audience, and every actor should do a blockbuster I think, as well as smaller movies. Plus, I'd like to take a trip back to 9th Century Persia with him, and see what it's like. :)
As for Austin, I voted somewhere with Jake.
But that's all I'm sayin' on both matters, because I don't want to jinx anything! Fingers crossed! ;)

Crazy! :) I voted no on the PoP movie. I tend not to like those movies, anyway. Didn't see Tomb Raider, didn't like Pirates of the Caribbean. Just not my cup of tea. However, if it was a successful blockbuster, it could be good for his career.

No for PoP because it's a trilogy (or more than 1 movie), he would be away filming for too long, he already had TDAT, those movies are usually cheesy, where is Harrison Ford? and you think Jake's changed now, wait'll the mass public gets to him.

IMO, Prince of Persia is a good career choice, if Jake gets the job eventually. The game is extremely popular (gamers practically grew up with the different versions of PoP) and hence, the film has the potential to turn into a classic, if done well. The character of the Prince is not linear, as one might expect - he does have a dark side, which has to be won over. So plenty of opportunities to make Dastan interesting and iconic. Most importantly, as an actor, Jake needs to grow out of BBM, IMO. The transition from Donnie Darko to Jack Twist was smooth. Now, will Dastan help him transition out of Jack Twist? I hope so.
Personally, I enjoy actors and actresses who can move in and out of complex characters smoothly. When they are within a character, they give their best, almost dissolving oneself. IMO, therein lies the thrill of being a film fanatic. :)

I voted "No" for PoP because of Bruckheimer. I don't think this guy can give us a movie with the richness of Lord of the Rings or the fascinating subtext of X-Men, the only franchises that ever won my vote.
And if my earlier experience with Nicolas Cage is any indication, a Jake appearing in a Bruckheimer trilogy would stop being of any interest to me.
The Austin poll was hard. I think he's seeing Jake and going to auditions. But since I miss the guy dearly, I voted for "going to auditions".
I voted yes to POP - physically I think Jake would suit the role, the one-two combo of that dark hair and blue eyes. Just gaw-juss. I do like seeing Jake on screen, not in the tabloids.

There's a lot to be said for just plain gold old entertaining movies. I usually go to the heavy subject matter type films, and I love that - but occasionally, I like a movie that is good old fashioned entertainment. I never did see the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, but not because I didn't want to. The previews had looked wonderfully creative to me, colorful and creative characters - Davy Jones, looking like an octopus, and Jack Sparrow painted up with eyes, like moth or bird camoflage. Fabulous! Just too many movies to see, and too little time!
Prince of Persia is sort of growing on me, although I can't really see it happening. With regard to the park pics, seems that Friday is very much the day of choice for the Reeke photo op. Maybe Jake sees a couple of hours a week for 6 months not being much to give up if you thought it was going to result in a $40 million contract. Who knows.
(also, if you want a laugh, reese has a fabulous wedgie in the photo with Atticus in the back of her car, not a flattering look in anyone's book).
Jake does have the presence to do this part. It is not all physical, it is more than that. I really think he could own this one and the audience truly believe the only Dastan is Jake.

I don't think it is all about the money with PoP. I agree with Rattler that he is finding roles that move him forward in his career. It's not like Jake wants to forget those iconic roles, but you have to continue to grow as an actor and move into different directions.
I can only imagine that after Darko the only roles that were pitched were troubled teens, diaffected youth, he did those -- but then did Bubble Boy something totally different, and then he went on to do Proof and Brokeback. Not every role is going to hit out of the park, but sometimes the role is chosen for transition.
I think Rendition was not only about topic but a chance to transition, and Zodiac as well. Nailed I think is going to be a great chance for him too. Satirical, a bumbling lecherous congressman.. gives him a chance to stretch and do different things.
If Jake played the same type of role over it would get a little boring don't you think?
I think you should have a "I'm so confused" option on PoP, which I have not voted on yet. I also haven't voted yet on the other poll.
On the one hand, I think there is a lot of risk in doing PoP because so many of those movies are bad and have hurt people's careers. I also think Bad Seed raises some very good points about how it could affect Jake.
On the other, I do have faith in Jake to pick better movies than most actors; so far he has been fairly smart with his choices. I also think if it was really successful that he might have more power, and that could make it easier to come out. But since I certainly never expected Reeke, I have fears that Bad Seed's scenario is more likely.
I do wonder if the Moon Project is in trouble. There is no way Jake would do two franchises, and he's already committed to that.
As for the second poll, I think I would like to vote for both "with Jake" and auditioning. Still on the fence about Baby Tile.
Finally, love the music today. I've never heard of them.
Just went and looked at the latest pictures. That one with Atticus is particularly funny, partly because he doesn't look to happy to see Reese. And why was Atticus in the car if they were at a park? Also no Abbie, wonder if she pitched a fit about going, or Reese left her with the nanny so no one would see her looking miserable.

The looking like friends pics are nothing new, most of the pics of them and the kids are of either Reese and Deacon walking behind Jake and Ava or visa versa. I don't believe the 'ruining the paps money shot' or 'so the paps don't get alot of money for their pics' defense. Why should the celebs care, they don't get or lose money from any pap shots. And wtf, with the [supposed] millions they get paid who the hell are the celebs to mess with other people's income? Methinks the paps prbly work harder and longer hours than the celebs. They probly are freelancers, independent contractors who don't have or get adequate benefits [if at all], the basic ones as well as the fluff ones like gift bags worth $100 thousand. The paps also get a reputation as being scum, even tho they're hired by the celeb, their reps and the PR shills. I think the paps earn every penny, unlike most of the celebs, Jake and Reese included.
I'm not really feeling Prince of Persia, especially if it's going to be a trilogy. It might make a movie star but it could kill an actor.

I voted no for PoP. As much as I love Jake's dark hair and blue eyes, I'd much rather swoon over them in a not-made-for-the-masses movie. I'll admit to seeing Pirates, but it was only after Johnny Depp said that he based his character on Keith Richards - I couldn't pass up seeing that performance.
Seems that with Nailed (Jessica Biel) and with PoP, Jake's team is really trying to attract the young male movie-going demographic. Unfortunately, most of those movies don't appeal to me. Nailed has definite potential in spite of Biel. I can't say the same for PoP.
I think Austin is in LA. I'm hoping that we hear about a new project (tv series or movie) soon.

I just always find it so amusing to see Jake far more engaged and relaxed with a virtual stranger than he ever is with Reese. The man can never hide the effect a person has on him; it's fascinating. I'm fantasizing that she's putting a big old bug in his ear - "Come on, what's wrong with you? Snap out of it!" (Cher, anyone? lol) Is the discussion all about baseball, really? She has him coming over all thoughtful in a couple of the pics. I wonder how well he knows her.
Best body language award goes to Atticus. I just don't see animals warming to Reese. At all. And their actions would never lie. The only thing Atticus is concerned about is where Jake is.
I voted yes to PoP. I would've liked an undecided option, too, but the more I think about it, the more I think he could pull it off. I feel like there's still a desire in him to do an action hero/character movie and it might as well be something with some depth and darkness. I do like a brooding, conflicted Jake. The only thing that puts me off is that it'd be a franchise, but I'm not emotionally invested in what Jake does anymore, really. Overall, I think there'll always be a pull in him to do smart, challenging movies. And he's always capable of pleasant surprises where we think there may be none.
As for Austin, I voted that he's in L.A. which leaves it wide open for him to be doing any number of things. ;)

These latest pictures really have that shoot and run look to me, hard to say exactly why, it's just little elements that catch your attention. But I think it's the very separate demeanors of Reeke this time.

Well, I voted no to POP. Not really my kind of movie and Jake seemed totally bored by DAT - except for falling in love with Austin, of course. I did like Pirates of the Carribean - the first one -Depp was a real hoot in it. Never bothered to watch the next two. Jake does not have the physicality for a swashbuckler in my opinion. Yeah he got ripped for Jarhead, but I think they had to put a gun to his head to get him to workout and he stopped the moment filming ended.
If those new pics dont scream just friends, nothing does.

Really looked at that pic, Bad Seed. I think it's very significant that Atticus is not looking at her. Usually dogs want to see what the humans are doing. Dogs are pack animals. Their humans are the leaders of their pack. They usually pay attention to the leader Obviously the leader ain't Reese.

Frenchy, I did see the body language analysis US mag put back. Laughable, imo. I mean, I'm no expert, I just play one on OMG, but come oooon. It was like US wanting to prove to people that the world is flat. Sure, an expert can come up with whatever they think gets the job done. You'll convince some peeps, sure, others, no. Jake showed more engagement and chemistry with that woman in the park than all those Reeke in Love examples put together and I'm not being over the top.

btw do you all just get a little box [about 6" x 4"] to see all the comments? I have that choice or to see the big blue page without any avatars, only the orange G signs. the comment section with the avatars showing and the comment section only show up in a small box, it doesn't go to full [or even half!] page. Is that hoe it is fir everyone else?
