A Poll Workout for You!

Thought we'd make you work today with a few polls for your contemplation. Since both Jake and Austin will have movies coming out this fall, we wanted to see which one is generating the most excitement for the group. Only one choice per person here.



Jake will be very busy in the next year or so, with three movies coming out. Which one is the one that really floats your boat? One vote per customer.


This next poll is a bit different. The movies are from After Elton's top 25 gay movies of all time list. I changed the order so they are alphabetical and not in the order of After Elton's preference. You will notice Brokeback is not on the list. It was After Elton's top choice. I purposely left it off because I knew you all would vote for it! This poll is multiple choice. Try to vote for a maximum of three. Also, let us know in the comments which of these have you never heard of/seen.

Protected? Information Poll

After yesterday's discussion, I felt the need to ask this question. We all have our own ideas about Jake and Austin's privacy and what topics should or should not be discussed here. Topics that might make one person uncomfortable might not bother someone else. Some might feel that there are no topics that should be off limits.

The question here is which topics do you think are likely to be problematic to discuss, not which topics should never be discussed. There could be times when we all may feel it is appropriate to discuss a topic that normally makes us uneasy. What I'm trying to get to here is a discussion of which topics in particular make people a bit queasy. Please feel free to add topics that I may have left out in the comments. Note that this poll is MULTIPLE CHOICE.

I found Tink in a compromising position the other day. I think she was waiting for Atticus! Tink is a hot mess! Maybe I should submit her as dlisted's Hot Slut of the Day. I think if Tink was not spayed, there would be little Tatticuses running around!

Spesh said not to post a picture of Tink without posting one of her buddy, Potter, or she would be mad. Potter loved his Auntie Spesh and even tried to get in her lap. Since he's 75 lbs., this is not such a great thing. He's definitely a little dog in a big dog's body. He's also a very shy dog, so don't tell him his picture has been posted. If he finds out, he will hide his face in the corner of the couch!

The Saturday Polls

It is Saturday, so there be polls! The first one relates to the two possible blockbusters that Jake is rumored to be doing. According to IMDb, Prince of Persia's release date is June, 2009. Orlando Bloom is still rumored to be attached to this. The Untitled Moon Project, also possibly called Giant Leap, is also listed as releasing in 2009, no more specific date associated with it. Jake is listed as attached to this film. I would imagine Untitled Moon Project would release in the summer, to capture the summer moviegoers. I can't see Jake being in two action/adventure/potential blockbuster films coming out at around the same time. Makes me think something's gotta give. So which one would you rather see him do?



You know that I like to do polls for both of our boys. Spesh and I came up with a few ideas about possible roles for Austin. Which of these do you all think is best for him? This poll is a bit different, as it has been configured to be multiple choice! Now, don't abuse this feature by voting for everything! (Spesh this means you!)





My fave of the new Jake on the Nailed set pics. He's shaving! The Anti-Beardy-Beard brigade is pleased! Amazing how many pics are coming out of this movie set. From IHJ, of course.

Two Polls for your Consideration

I'm sure you all could tell by now that I'm not feeling this Prince of Persia thing so much. Wanted to get a sense of what you guys think. Should he or shouldn't he?

One of the things Spesh, the Mrs., and I did while Spesh was here was visit the Botanical Gardens in D. C. They had a fabulous orchid exhibit. The orchid is one pornographic flower! I think this orchid looks like a real slut! Spesh and I talked about including orchid porn in some of the posts. So here is some gratuitous orchid porn. I hope you enjoy it! :)

The Results are In!

The big winner is the Movie Club, with almost 70% of the votes. I have to say I'm surprised and pleased with how popular Reports on Gay News was too. We will be looking to incorporate both of these features in the near future.

We need to hear from you all now. What movie would you like to have as our first Movie Club feature? Throw out your suggestions and we will do a poll next week so you can vote on them. Since it's my post, I get to make the first suggestion. :) I say Ang Lee's The Ice Storm. I just recently watched it and it might be an interesting compare and contrast with Brokeback. Let's hear from you guys now.

New Features Poll

Spesh and I have been talking about ways to expand the blog. Now let me be clear, we are not changing our J&A focus. We would like to add some features to the blog, sort of like the Out Spotlight is already, that are not necessarily related to J&A that people might like to talk about. It would also really help us during those J&A news droughts too!

Before you vote, let me explain what we mean by each of these-

Movie Club- we would pick a movie (probably through getting suggestions and voting on it), everyone would watch it, and then we would have a discussion about it. I've been told they do this at DC and I remember when there was talk about doing it at WFT. A few people have mentioned to us that they would like this.

Book Discussion- we could do this like the movie club or we could do it where we have a post monthly or every so often where we talk about gay literature, books people are reading, etc.

Music Discussion- we thought this might work by featuring a gay musical artist and then encouraging discussion about gay music or whatever people are listening to. This one is my own selfishness; I love to find out about new artists and this seemed like a good way to do it!

Reports on Gay News- what we had in mind for this one is to do a post that is sort of a round-up of different events that have happened recently that are important to the gay community.

As always, one computer- one vote. And you can only vote for one. I would also like to hear suggestions from you all about which features you might like that I have not listed. This poll will remain open, and be linked in our posts, for at least a few days to give everyone time to vote. When we close it, Spesh and I will talk and decide what we want to do. We can't guarantee what changes will occur. We may incorporate one feature or a few, it depends on how people vote and what we feel we can do a good job with. We are merely looking for ways to make the blog more interactive and encourage participation.
