Disney'd, Knocked Up and it's Superbad

So what does Disney, Knocked Up and Superbad have to do with Jake?

The newest news in the state of Gyllenhaal?

Oh I know your first thought - but its not that.

And following Monty Python's advice "always look on the bright side of life"

Do you recongnize this Disney star? Yes it's Sharpay(that's PG) from High School Musical , Ashley Tisdale Who was she? She was Kim, the dorky girl in the assembly with Jim Cunningham, who comes up to the mike to ask about her step sister who eats too much. Donnie's advice. "Tell her to lose weight. Tell her get off the couch. Stop eating Twinkies, And maybe go out for field hockey."

Her small role in Darko came up during a conversation with MTV about which actors Tisdale would most like to work with.

"I would love to work with Jake Gyllenhaal ... Johnny Depp. I love Kate Hudson. She's one of my favorites," Tisdale told MTV News before recalling her one amazing day of working with "Donnie Darko" star Gyllenhaal back in 2001. "I was in one scene with him. I met him and he was the nicest guy in the entire world. At the premiere he even remembered who I was," she said. "I was there for a day. I had, like, two lines. But I'd like to actually do another scene with him, more."

And Knocked Up and Superbad? Come on that's easy.

He doesn't look like a monster or an alien here, but he and Jake have one of those in common.

Some space time continuum, huh? And in an alternate reality would have gone with musicals and action figures and birthday parties. But then would have to go with Monty Python's "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition". See how the space time continuum works?

And now for a little double shot to finish it off. Forbes came out with the list of Hottest Hollywood Siblings list. Who tops it? The Baldwins? The Olsens? Could it be the dark horse The Arquettes? (there's so many of them) It's Maggie and Jake who are the first runners up to the twosome from Texas, Luke and Owen Wilson. I say recount! Bottle Rocket might have been good but Darko blows it away. And come on Maggie and Jake could take them in a walk off and grab the crown . Could Luke or Owen pull off the evening wear competition? The interview maybe, but evening wear?

OMG Movie Club reminder we will be discussing cult classic Harold & Maude by director Hal Ashby starting Friday night, March 27th at 5:00PM EST and all day Satruday March 28th. Grab a copy watch and join us.

Okay. You know what, guys?

Cool heads will prevail on this one. We can do it.
And I know not everyone will join in on this. And I know that no one likes to be told what to say or talk about. I sure don't. But I'm just sayin',. lol

I'm going to play Union Steward, take a cue from some of my union people here at my work.

I'm not doing it. I'm not discussing it. You know what I'm talking about. I'm calling for a STRIKE!! on it.

Who's with me on this?!! There are a 1,000,000,000,000,000 other things we can talk about today.

LOL, me being salaried, never thought I'd ever want to play union steward. But 1st time for everything.

Alright! Thanks, Toolbelt! I'm serious as all getout.

Oh hey, Special, uh..just a very small, minute correction. As someone who has seen HSM a hundred times, lol....her name's Sharpay.

I can't help it. I love HSM.

Elinor!!!! Thanks for the thoughts. I'm sorry I missed yesterday. I was checking in, I just didn't have anything to say really. But I loved your comments about slash. Elinor, I should've mentioned this yesterday, tho, as I now think about Madlori taking her story down.

"Zero At the Bone" is just one of the best, all time stories out there. It's like a classic. lol. The thing is, she is having it published and it is supposed to be coming out very soon, like early April, I think. I don't know if it's going to be word for word, though, so you might want to check it out real quick, save it in your hard drive somewhere for later reading. I can just about guarantee you that you're going to like it. Hey, so what story have you liked so far? Or are you going to be shy like my little friend, m?

And I don't know where in the heck my compadre, Orchid, has been. Orchid! I have to ring your doorbell once in awhile, make sure you're out there.

Hey, guess what happened? My original Harold & Maude dvd ended up going back to Netflix. They sent me an email saying they "received it". What the heck??! I never even saw it, lol. Anyway, I have another one now and tried to start it this morning while I was getting ready for work, but that didn't work at all. It looks like it's going to be a good movie, tho. I like the opening song. Sounds like Cat Stevens.

I'm really excited about a new Terrence Malick film. I haven't seen The New World, but that image of a colonial boot setting foot on the pristine beach of the new world really stayed with me when I saw it in the previews. We should add him to our movie club list, yes?

Special K said...

Duly noted PG, and I changed it. Have to say I draw the line at HSM and would rather be forced to watch human resource videos before watching them.

The Terrence Malick suggestion is a great one, and I will make sure we add him on our movie club suggestion list. Thanks Film Buff

I am so behind on things. My Austin vlog watching is all behind, TMZ video not seen, I'm totally uninformed.

Which reminds me.....I didn't know either that Harvey was gay? How did I miss that boat? I find him pretty darn attractive myself - I forget who said that yesterday. I agree. He's very charismatic; back when I was watching Greta Van Sustern (sp, I know!) all the time, he would be on there periodically.

Over the weekend, I was doing some investigative work and I finally remembered to google about Will Smith, because it seems to be just a "given" that he, as well as his wife, Jada Pinket Smith, are gay. I'm not really finding much credence to that, other than the mentions that some Hollywood madam said she had arranged some "opportunities" for him. I expected to find something more substantial than that. I was surprised, really. I wonder why it's so widely believed. Just wondering.

Oh goodness!! I almost forgot I have some great ones here, you guys. I'll break them up into a couple posts. They're excellent, really. Called "Only in America" sent to me by one of my cubemates.

Only in America..do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.

Only in America...do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, & a diet Coke.

Only in America...do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters. LOLLLL!

Only in America...do we leave cars worth 1000's of $$'s in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.

Only in America...do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.

Only in America...do they have drive up ATM machines with Braille lettering. LOLLLL!

Ever wonder...why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?

Ever wonder...why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?

Anonymous said...

prairiegirl said...

Human Resource videos. LOLLLL!!! Special. snicker.

Better yet - I could show you some really thrilling & exciting "Safety" vids. Now, that's some high entertainment. Aw come on!! Troy & Gabriela. Go Wildcats!!

Sorry, guys, I'm letting loose with quite a few comments here. And now to finish what I had started...

prairiegirl said...

Ever wonder...why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery'?

Ever wonder..why is 'abbreviated' such a long word?

Ever wonder..why is it that doctors call what they do 'practice'?

Ever wonder..why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
Ever wonder...why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
Ever wonder...why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
Ever wonder..Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?
Ever wonder...why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
Ever wonder...You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?
Ever wonder..why don't sheep shrink when it rains? LOLLL!
Ever wonder...why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?

If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?

Ooooop! that's it, that was the last one.

I thought those were great. Some of them do make you kind of scratch your head, don't they? lol, why don't sheep shrink. Does wool shrink? Are you supposed to just dry clean wool?? I think you are, come to think of it.

OH, and I gotta say. I'm guilty of the ordering the 1/4 pounder meal @ McD's with a Diet Coke. LOLLLL! I know. But hey - you have to save where you can.

I believe that would be the #3 Meal at McDonald's. I'm certain I'm probably the only person here who eats McD's, lol.

I do have Donnie Darko now on dvd. Will have to give it another go. I don't know that I remember Ashley being in that. That's something.

Well, I'm about all talked out. Boy, what one day of blog fasting does. Where is my lunch friend, Destiny at? Dest, usually you're around when I'm on at lunchtime. Maybe you are outside enjoying the fresh air. Whoa, I think I've overextended my lunch break. Oops.

Okay, well, sayanara!

Hi PG, I took a late lunch today. I've seen some of those in your first post, I'm especially fond of the one about drugstores. But I've never seen any of the second batch, love the ones about lemons, mosquitoes and apartments.

I don't know why, but that sibling list strikes me as odd. Maybe because it seems like something they're doing to get traffic, and I can't help wondering who they left off the list. What about Ridley Scott and his brother Tony?

Jamie Foxx on getting his guest stars for Blame It.

AP: The "Blame It" video may have the biggest cameos in music video history. How'd you get the guys involved?

Foxx: I was actually at the inauguration and there was so much great energy and there was Ron Howard and I sat next to his mom. I actually sang for her at the inauguration, just singing, and she started to tear up and we just bonded and the whole family just bonded . .. so I was telling Mr. Howard, "Listen, how about you do a music video?" He's like, "What?" (I said), "Do this music video. I got a song coming out, I think it's going to be the song of the year and if you do it man, I would appreciate it." And he said, "I'll give you my number and call me." I said I'm going to ask Forest Whitaker and let him know that you're in, so I walked over and asked Forest and I asked Samuel and Samuel was like, "What! Want me to do what?" And I was like man it would be something fun. And then I called Jake Gyllenhaal who's my friend, I said, "Man, please come down, Ron Howard's going to be here." He said, "Listen Jamie, you don't have to lie to me, I'll come down. You know I don't come out and do things but I'll do it for you."

I happened to visit Chris's blog today. He cooked at some fundraiser in Ojai over the weekend and posted some pictures, one taken by Greta Caruso in Italy. I wonder if he visited Jake while in CA.

Prairie Girl, one reason, besides shyness that I don't mention slash favorites is that many of my all time favorites are from authors who have taken down or locked their journals. I do like Stranded lately and try to read everything posted on DC slash.

That is way too spooky M. I haven't looked Chris' stuff since Dec, and went there this morning.

The fundraiser was for the The Rome Sustainable Food Project. Their mission is: The Rome Sustainable Food Project provides the community of the American Academy in Rome with a collaborative dining program that nourishes scholarship and conviviality. Guided by the indomitable spirit of the Roman table, it is our aim to construct a replicable model for sustainable dining in an institution.

prairiegirl said...

So PG, explain yourself! Do you really think the calories saved in the soda compensate for the burger?

welllllll...noooooo. But if I just have one carrot stick for lunch and one cup of dry Multi Grain Cheerios for breakfast, it could!!

lol. Hey, sometimes one just has to have McDonald fries. I'm not a huge red meat eater. My favorites are hamburgers, meat loaf (ha - both are beef, I know), uh - pork chops, and ALL-BEEF hot dogs. Oh yeah, turkey & ham. And chicken. snicker. I guess those last ones aren't red meat, are they. There you go! The diet of a Kansan girl.

I know several people who just refuse to drink diet pop. What's wrong with it? Some Diet Coke's from the fountains are quite strong, you know. That Coke Classic will burn a hole right down the esophagus. And some people refuse to drink Pepsi products. Only Coke.

And then there's Vess pop. Vess Pop has more carbonation in it than you can shake a stick at.
And Virgil's Root Beer is some of the best root beer. I rank it right up there with Barq's.

Oh, m, don't tell me about taken down journals - it depresses me! When I think of what I've missed out on. heavy sigh. Aw, I'm teasin', anyway. Heck, if we were in a room together & trying to discuss one, I'd probably turn so red, I'd turn purple.

okay, I've got to go walk. Speaking of Virgil's, I'm off to the olllll' Sam's Club tonight. Got to control myself around the dvd section. That section is hazardous.

Hightly agree for a special Terrence Malick movie club. I dicover him with "The new world", such wonderful movie, one of the best I've ever seen.
I remember shots with the youg indian girl and Farrel's characters in nature in which there was such harmony between elements and actors, indescribable moments.Fascinating music too.

Oh why suddenly I read the word "diet" here, hate this word LOL
I have to confess thought, I always take sandwich with coca light too, to relieve my conscience undoubtly.

Thanks Prairie Girl for the advice about "Zero at the bone", a great success story it's seems, I saw the title and comments BUT as a good pupil I began by the page one LOL in DC forum list.
Oh good so much stories , I am reading "just another kid in Town" ,really good but I am slow cause I don't undestand everything lol shit no french fanfic , but where are the french when I need them???LOL
Of course I read Jake RPS, the one with Autin and Heath "My boyfriend is back" hot hot funny and hot.
Besides can someone explain me why some author write RPS with Viggo ,Olando,Jarred ?? who care of them , Austin isn't enough??? LOL
Ok I stop!

Oh agree with you special K , Jake is great on the new pics, a walking dream .

I used to drink a lot of diet soda, but then I just reached a point where I found most of it disgusting too, with the exception of diet root beer, which along with Coke I only drink once in a blue moon. I usually just stick to water or iced tea. Now that is something that is hard to find in New York, a decent glass of iced tea--and none of that flowery flavored stuff for me either.

destiny said...

Oops, accidently hit the post button. I meant to say I agreed with M, it always makes me happy to see something around Jake's neck too. Rings, talismans, a bit of the indie boy...

TDAT was on FX, and of course flipping by I ended up stopping and watching it.

prairiegirl said...

Hey guys!! LOLL, what fun reading today. I just had a really good time catching up.

absolutely disgusting?? Oh now....Wicked. It's not that bad. Hmm, I must be used to it. When I do have a Coke Classic, it about rips up my insides. But it does taste really good. That is some strong stuff that Coke classic. I am big on flavored waters, too. Not those vitamin ones, but Nestle's flavored waters. Those are really good.

LOLLL, Clarity. You killed me. You killed me. first to go. Nah, I'm right up there with you. I don't smoke & I don't drink anymore, but I do like sweets & junk food and I am a Type A. Now that's a killer combination. Really cracked down on the sweets tho since my sister got pegged diabetic.

Elinor, I understand about starting on page 1. I've skipped & jumped around so much, it's not funny. But the reason I tell you about Zero At The Bone is because the author (Madlori) is taking it off her website sometime this week. So it won't be available anymore.
You know, Elinor, I've seen someone's stories in Spanish and cornflake has some in German. I don't think I've seen any in French, tho. But I could be wrong, tho. There could be some and I just haven't come across them yet. Yeah, I don't get the RPS with all those other characters. I'm not into any of them. Some authors have left BBM and gone on to other people. There's a fanfiction website called, um, I forget now. Fanfiction.net or something. And you would not believe all the fiction that is out there. People write about anything and everything. Queer As Folk is popular. Orlando Bloom is popular. Star Wars is, also.

Now, I know this sounds bad and it makes it sound like all I do is eat junk food. I really don't, lol! But it just so happens that tonight we ate at CiCi's Pizza. It's a cheap-o pizza place near where I live and it appears to be popular with the typical JoCo suburban family who goes to soccer games crowd. But anyway, the cooks were dishing out all these pizzas because they were expecting a group. And in walked this motherlode of Grade A, Prime Exhibition of college baseball players from UMKC. HOLY COW. I mean, one right after the other, young guys all lined up promptly in the pizza line. And each one left with their plate piled yea-high with salads & pizza. They're going to eat that place out of house & home. Man, that was some spectacle of well.....you know. Just a chartered bus full of testosterone. And their jackets & pants were grey/navy. Really great colors.

Special K said...

flowery flavored stuff.

oh-oh. That sounds like some of the stuff I drink. lol. My little buddy got me to putting Crystal Lite flavors in my water. Very bad habit.

Those are nice pictures. He looks a million miles away. Oh, I love that song by James Taylor, Special. How smooth that one is. I haven't heard that one in awhile; now you'll have me thinking on it the rest of the night.

Speaking of which, I need to turn in. My evening's shot. Shot all to heck. Sweet dreams to everyone and oh yeah, Tom, you cracked me up reminiscing about the medical building. Let's not go there, lol. Remember that day. Oh boy. Althoughhhhhhh, if I do recall right, that was the same day we had the Austin/Jake bike pics.

Alright, well, goodnight & sleep tight.

The previous pics: I also think Jake is in therapy. He has the same serious introspective look in these medical building pictures.

According to a supposed "insider" source I had awhile back, Jake does go to a shrink. This source told me he has a lot of stress, both personal and professional and because of this, goes to a shrink. According to this one source, he even used to go to see this shrink with Austin (take that with a grain of salt).

Special K said...

Therapy can be a very positive thing, and hope it isn't used as a way to speculate about a person.

If he is, then he has an objective listener who has no agenda to talk with.

I have heard that about he and Austin. And while some would say that it shows problems, I tend to think it shows intent and commitment to their relationship.

Anonymous said...

Don't drink any soda regularly, and never the diet stuff because I don't like the aftertaste, or adding artificial chemicals to my body (although the naturally derived Splenda might be ok). On a really hot summer day, I might have a Coke once during the summer (the real thing) and ginger ale when I'm sick. Ever since I heard that they can clean decks of ships with phosphoric acid (a soda additive)and a tooth will dissolve in a glass of it, I avoid carbonated soda! I'll drink tea, coffee, bottled water. I recently was tempted to get a Filet o' Fish recently PG, from McD's, because of the crazy commercials they've got out lately! :)

I was reading more about Terrence Malick's Tree of Life, and the role that Brad Pitt is now going to play had been destined for Heath. Everyone wanted to work with Heath. Sigh.

Anonymous said...

If Jake was/is seeing a shrink, I doubt that he would be seeing one in such a public clinic. He can easily see one more discreetly where he knows no paps are waiting. That clinic is a magnet for paps and he and other stars are seen there often.

His whole family has been in therapy at one time or another as per Naomi and Stephen. Either there are other non-medical offices in that building, or he is being monitered, i suspect coming down from roids which i think he was on for Pop (and Jarhead). He also is a self proclaimed hypochodriac.

People claim to be "insiders" after they see a few pics and start speculating and then write their own fan fic.

Don't think Jake nor his people would have him seen going in and out of that medical building if he was seeing a shrink, if he is it sure the hell isn't there, A-list stars see therapist in very private settings.
