Not to be outdone, he instructed me to speed up and pull up next to them, at which point, he dropped his drawers and delivered the fullest of moons. Wiccans could have conducted ceremonies under this moon. Coyotes howled at it.
Cows jumped over it.
There's a lot of howling going on, cowing jumping, wonder if Toothy tiling? Of course it 
wouldn't be a Southern thing without some Moonshine.
We had a good laugh, and then I dropped him off. Later that night, he wandered into a bar and happened upon the very same pack of girls who had heckled us earlier.
Coincidence doesn't exist for Mr. Nichols. He is a magnet, and the earth is drawn to him,

LOLL! Wow, I would've loved to see that moon of Austin's! That guy sounds totally fun, doesn't he? Like, who knows what's going to happen when you're with him? His friends are very lucky, sounds like. Nice post, Special. You know I like that second picture of him, too. Don't need a Scripto Highlighter to find the magnet of attention in that pic, lol.

In response to Long Time Lurker, I just wanted to say that:
I don't think it's anger & accusations all the time. Now, I exclude myself when I say this because I have not been blameless in getting personal & I admit that, but it seems to me that the majority of the angry comments come everytime the bearding has escalated and gone over the top. And to me, that is directed at behavior more so than Jake himself. I have absolutely no doubt that people here still love/like the guy. People were excited over the possibility of him doing Damn Yankees. Excited over the pictures from NYC. Very much excited over a year ago when I first started lurking here. But as the bearding escalated & kept growing, of course it gets harder to be positive.
If I have a co-worker or a friend who I get along with totally, everything mostly is fine. But if that person starts hanging with a totally different set of people and it changes their behavior towards something I would no longer admire or believe in, how do you just ignore it and not let it affect your relationship? You can't unless you're just a doormat, with no will to stand up & fight for the friendship that you have. Because you don't want to lose it, you fight for it. And that involves honesty & calling a spade a spade, sometimes. It's the only way to get a point across sometimes.
Don't know if that makes sense, but anyways...

Then you should know US did the spread and the layout. They're the same pictures that are at IHJ and that you've seen over and over. Reeke can't sell a cover for US but US has to get ad revenue, so they put them in the magazine. The staff did what Janice wanted them to do, sell it.

As for Austin singing: There was this really cute video of him singing in a choir when he was a teenager. I think it was shown on the Tony Danza show. Not the best quality, but it sounded like he's pretty good.

Yeah, I figured if he tried out for Moulin Rouge that he must be able to carry a pretty good tune. That song from the M.R. Soundtrack that was called "The Elephant Love Song" or something like that, that was a really challenging one. And Ewan McGregor & Nicole Kidman did fantastic on it.
I remember seeing that clip of Austin singing, Stubborn. It was cute. And Austin couldn't believe they were showing it.

Gee Stubborn tb when are you ever here? I don't ever remember you bringing up any non-Reeke subjects, starting a convo and throwing in links. You only seem to come here to complain, and talk about Reeke and complain about people talking abouit Reeke.
When it comes down to it, if there's a choice of talking about a news story about something Reeke, like how Reese called Jake "fabulous" in her interview, and the other choice is a "what if" like the examples Stubborn and PG brought up like "can Austin sing?" "do you think him and Jake sing together?" or whatever the blog topic is, guess what. Most people (and me) will go with discussing and analyzing the current event. If Stubborn tb and others want to carry on philosophizing, talking about the good old days before Reeke, and fantasizing about Jake and Austin's lives, fine. There's news/pic droughts with Jake and Austin and there's a time for doing that. But Stubborn tb and the others, when there is current Reeke news, don't criticize people for discussing it. Sheesh. If you had your way would current Reeke news be discussed after a 1 month/6 month/1 year moratorium? Or ignored so you can live in a fantasy world where bearding and lying doesn't exist?

That is a ridiculous statement. The anger is solely due to the lying and the bearding. It is wrong. It is homphopic. I think for the most part most posters would agree.
I hate reading and hearing about Reeke. It's horrible but its reality. People seem to talk about whatever they want here. I think we are headed for a bumpy rode very soon. For sure though Reeke will end with a wimpering we will always be friends.
Wow, an eventful day. I am late to the party but have a couple of comments. I've never doubted for a moment that Austin has magnetic appeal. Just look how the cast of OTH has taken him under their wing. All those comments about his grin, his charm, his good looks. And Jake didn't stand a chance. That's why I can never buy that they have split. Jake fell hook, line and sinker. Plain as day to anyone with eyes.
Agree with the comments that being in the closet and bearding are totally different. Being discreet about your sexuality, like Jake was for several years, is not ideal, but it's tolerable, understandable. Openly bearding, creating a false impression, basically lying, is not acceptable to me. I don't like it when Jake does it or anyone else for that matter, but I don't follow any other stars but Jake (and Heath) so I limit my 2cents to Jake and how I feel about it. I think Special noted that Leonardo kept a posse around himself. When Jake was dating Kiki, Chris was often there as well. One of the reasons I think he was more than just a friend.
Last but not least, D-listed nailed it again. That cover is so obviously photo-shopped its not even funny. The woman wishes she still looked like that. Also obvious is that she is still in love with Ryan. We cant help who we love. She did not do Jake any favors with her comments. He is being skewered around the net.
Not to re-open a can of worms, but I feel like I have to comment on what went on today.
First of all, I totally agree with Appropriate, Get Real and PG's post at 3:55. In particular, I really think Bitching is a troll or someone who thinks this site should just shut down. I also don't think the discussion about bearding is driving people away--look at wft2! Several of the long-time posters who've stopped made it quite clear they did so because they felt Jake & Austin are doing the wrong thing, particularly if there is a baby tile.
Second, I come here because I think Special and Wicked have created a place where I am free to talk about whatever I want, and that includes having a place to express my anger about the bearding and calling Jake out on his behavior. I'm sorry you feel like you've been driven away Stubborn, but I think there are plenty of other things to talk about. I just don't think you can expect it on a day like this.
I am just never going to be the kind of fan who says nothing but positive things, no matter what happens.
Finally, I've talked about and linked to stories about plenty of other things too: the Out Spotlight, Special's posts, the too-long jeans, U2, Peter Doherty's latest video and Proposition 8 just to name a few. I think most regular posters here talk about plenty of things, like PG and M discussing slash.

I read everything today. Couple of things.
One I don't think that every one who is tired of all the Reeke talk or weary about Jake complaints is always a troll or babbler. Saying that sometimes make just makes other afraid to say anything, and there are alot of lurkers. Sometimes I wonder if they are afraid of being labeled such sometimes.
I encourage everyone to say have an opinion. I just don't want others to be discouraged to say things.
Yes Reeke will happen, but sometimes it seems does monopolize everything. Sometimes I think we allow Reeke or our feeling about Reeke to put a damper on alot of things. Why do we make it make us so miserable so much of the time?
I hope we can find a balance between things about Jake and Austin and Reeke, and that we find things that don't upset us, make us anger or miserable. Life is way too short and our own happiness is way too important.
There are lots of things going on. Jake's getting new projects. Austin's blogging, Austin's going back to finish up at OTH, New OTH episodes, Cannes, movies coming out. We have Out Spotlight and Movie Club and JFC Discussion.

California Supreme Court to discuss Prop 8.
PR Girl the Phillies are in LA that weekend so unless I am hanging out with Jake and reese at the Phils vs Dodgers game I will be home that weekend. The only problem is that Sat will be a work day. Hopefully I can get someone to switch with me. I would love to come up and hang out with you and Spesh for a while. Maybe I can get someone form this blog to drive up with me. Gyllenspoon Hot on Brangelina’s Heels
The always-thinking, supersweet Reese Witherspoon was of course on AP Radio the other day and got sidetracked. The usually hush-hush gal did offer up her opinion on something else other than what pertains to the interview topic at hand, like the unfortunately hot issue of domestic abuse, along with Rihanna and Chris Brown.
"When you think [how] one in three women are victims, that's pretty much everyone we know," quipped Reese, rather seriously emphasizing how domestic abuse can affect all people in life. When pressed further, she said she has no "personal experience" with Chris and Rihanna's situation, so she couldn't comment on them specifically.
Where was Reese's main man (her PR gal, that is) to jump in? Could R have been eager to briefly touch on this taboo topic instead of a more touchy, roundabout one? Her unusually chatty quotes smell more like a brilliant ploy to divert other personal questions, like if the Oscar winner really is expecting...to marry Jake Gyllenhaal soon?
Like we've said before, Reese is crafty, and her meticulous publicity plans are starting to outshine those of Angelina's. If Reese offered up any of these random quotes you better believe it's to hide something else. But is Jake as gullible as Brad? Hell no. That's why this power couple is going straight to the top fast. Watch out.
The Awful Truth
I am sure the California Sumpreme Court will be favorible in their judgement on Prop 8. But like Destiny says when gay marriage ends up in the Supreme Courts hands the votes will not be there at this time. Lets hope as some judges retire during President Obama's time in office things will change.

Jake and reese will be together till after PoP. That means the earliest we will hear "we will always be friends" is probably the Fall of 2010. If PoP is a flop Reeke was a waste of time. If PoP is a hit Jake wont need Reese anymore. He will have his sequels.

Good morning!! Man, keep getting up later & later. The slow descent into lack of discipline.
Special, I still have to disagree on the point of people being intimidated to post. On WFT2, yeah, I can kind of see it there. But on here, I don't think so. And there have been ample days for opportunity to comment on whatever topic of J & A there can be. Totally open discussion on their shows or moviemaking, past movies, not to mention that period of Prop. 8 where I got lost in the shuffle because I knew nothing about it, but, hey, it was a vital, current topic. Ample opportunity.
Now, I'm going to do some namedropping but only because I'm trying to make my point. Now, I know some don't post as often because they're on a total time difference or real life just takes them out of cyber talk. And, simply, life is everchanging, everevolving and interests just naturally change. But for those regulars that I have heard outloud wonderings where they went? Why did they quit coming around?
To those whom I mention, you correct me pronto if I'm wrong. But Northeast used to be on here alot until she pretty much came to believe that Jake & Reese were for real. Right? Around birthday dinner time in December, I think. And Wicked, you said you weren't ever going to stop coming around because you liked everyone here so much, but as far as Jake was concerned, he had chosen the path he wanted to take. And so interest in that regard had waned. And Eastcoastfan a fade into the darkness because he, too, and come to believe that Jake & Reese were for real.
Now, those are just 3 people that come to mind very quickly. I wasn't around in the beginning to know who others are that don't post anymore or very rarely. I would love to hear why:
a. Real life/different interests
b. Reeke
c. Jake's turn into Tabloid Jake
d. Belief that Reeke is real,
therefore not feeling a part
of community anymore
Now, "c" probably is a result of "b", so it may not be a valid reason.
I think it's hard to separate the Jake of old, the Jake who caught the attention & fancy of people enough that they started these blogs because of him from the Jake that we pretty much see now.
I can forget about the "bad" for awhile as long as we see him doing things like his appearance at the high school a few weeks ago or see the mention of him being up for a part in a new film, like Damn Yankees. But then, no sooner do you let your guard down, and Whack! here comes an Elle/Vogue article, a Lakers game, a yarn spin about her baby bump.
The person who can maintain that glass half-full feeling & eternal optimism is the rare person indeed. I hate to compare this to BBM, but it is a good comparison. In the movie, Jack Twist came to Ennis Del Mar time after time after time, putting up with Alma, putting up with being kept at a distance, being kept a dirty little secret but a secret that nonetheless was one that Ennis Del Mar was not wanting to let go of because it was who he was. But, finally Twist got tired of it. Jake portrayed that face of bitterness to the hilt. Alot of times, a person can only take so much.
I'm not defending a preoccupation with Reeke. I'm just saying that 1) it's how Jake wants to be perceived right now at this stage in his life therefore that's the majority of what his fans are seeing of him. It's hard to keep commenting on something that's not been seen for 2 years and is kept under wraps on purpose. That photograph starts to get tattered & awfully creased after awhile. and 2) I think it's only human nature to either get fed up enough to move on or else get discouraged and dwell on it. Not saying that's the way to go but that people are only human.
Phew. That was alot.
And PoP public will care more about the special efects and story than Jake.
Dang, sorry, guys, that was a really long post & feel free to scroll. It just took longer than I realized. And feel free to criticize, correct, or add. Sometimes I get off on a different sidestreet & lose my way back to the main road.
And before I go, I have to say a big thanks to Meg for her work. That is really something. You must be a whiz on the computer.

Those google numbers are pretty interesting. I used to google Jake pretty regularly to catch all the stories about him, but stopped a couple months ago. Reeke hurts my eyes, so the less of them the better.

I'm still here, haven't given up yet. If I were to comment on how great Spesh and Wicked's posts and music are, I'd truly sound like a broken record. The one about Southern Gothic writers was especially great.
PG, I don't know if Reeke is real or not, but as Spesh so aptly put it, I'm getting a little weary. Also, I tend to agree with Wicked that these things have an expiration date, and perhaps it's getting close to that for me. And the loss of a certain actor, still is just unfathomable to me - so when you add it all up, I guess it's wearisome. But, and love for BBM and J&A were not the only reason I would follow this blog and the original WFT, it's the wonderful topics we discuss, the like mindedness, and maybe helping to make the world a better place by discussing rights for all, and the people I have met, and of course our great music. So I won't ever give up on that. I'm happy also that today is March 5, and will be watching closely what happens with the CA Supreme Court.
I can't to persuade anyone of anything. But there people who don't post for being weary, and looking at the number of lurkers we get vs. the numbers of different posters, I would say there is at least a couple more who might say the same thing.
