What a lovely woman Urvashi Vaid is. And is Kelly Hogan a Patsy Cline or what? Love it. Gah, her voice is incredible. Happy OutSpotlight Sunday, all. Wicked, I hope you get a ton of snow, we're going to. :)

Nice Spotlight Spesh. It sounds like Urvashi has done a lot of great work.

Oh man. I dont want snow. They are saying 6-10 inches in Jersey. 6 to 10 inches are very good
numbers;-) but not when it comes to snow. I have to drive to the Central Jersey shore area tomorrow.
Sounds like less snow as you get closer to the Ocean so maybe it wont be too bad. Florida right now is sounding very very good. Maggie cant wait to go.

I wasnt up to see Sean Penn get his Oscar last Sunday night but have seen it on You Tube. I like what he said and the response it got from the audience. Not ready to forgive the Academy for what it did to Brokeback but all in all last Sunday night wasnt bad.

Probably the stupidest thing and not true. But possible, maybe a tiny bit, could it be a stop off shopping trip before Egypt? Story says "last week" but for all we know the coffee/med center pap pics could been taken early in the week like on Monday. And the Egypt trip is supposed to be via private jets so no LAX sighting would be expected. Can't say I see Jake buying fancy panties for Reese LOL, much less in a place that has plastic shopping baskets but with the economy maybe Reeke is on a budget.

M&S pants leave Jake red-faced

Published: Today

JAKE GYLLENHAAL made a runner from Marks And Spencers last week after being spotted buying ladies underwear. The actor went to a till at the back of the shop to pay for the undercrackers - presumbably meant for girlfriend REESE WITHERSPOON - but was redirected to the main tills instead. A fellow shopper said: "He was was putting the underwear into his plastic basket. "When he was told to use the main tills he realised he’d been spotted, dumped everything and made a speedy run for it! It was very funny."

Now that Prison Break has been canceled who knows maybe we will see Wenty and Luke come out. Not likely but it would be awesome.

Hey, Tom, I read in a rag that Wentworth was planning on growing out his hair. That would be interesting to see. I think I've only seen him in buzzcuts. I'm curious as to what project he'll do next. Talk about a guy who lays low. And he doesn't beard as far as I have seen. Yet he's what, 35 or 36? I love Wentworth.
Hope you don't get bombed on either, Tom!

I don't see how on earth Jake was supposed to have made it over to London.

Destiny, you killed me. I know your sentiment. I usually only watch either the Weather Channel or one specific local station because at least that weather station doesn't sensationalize the forecast. You, though, girl, are supposed to get some pretty high winds. Hope you have some good winterwear. Those winds are rough.

Well, everyone have a good Sunday. Need to go do some shoveling & whatnot over at the folks'. Should be a cold time!

Our morning flurries and dusting, is lingering but the roads are still pretty good. Of course things will change tonight, and now they are playing that snow sleet line. So the snow guesses on the weather reports are going from 8" to 16" talk about CYA.

I love today's song, I've never heard of her before.

Interesting to read about Urvashi as i knew nothing about her personal life, including the fact that she is with Kate Clinton.

This is from the record Because It Feel Good that came out a few years ago.

I've met Urvashi Vaid out at clubs in DC. She was always very nice and approachable.

If we get the upper totals on this snow (around 10) Tink's whole body would not be visible. Only the tips of her ears would show. I would absolutely get a picture of that and post it!

Jake - ladies' knickers - M&S - The Sun (blurgh!)

Words fail me :D

Excellent choice for spotlight! I met Urvashi at the '93 March when I was on the steering committee for The Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt. This was the year that it was displayed in its' entirety on the Mall. Also met and shook hands with Kate Clinton when she was in Scottsdale two years ago. They're both admirable women in their own rights.

Although I miss New England and the Mid-Atlantic, I'm grateful to be in the high 80's to low 90's here in AZ. No more Nor'Easters for me...

I really, really love the word "undercrackers!" :)

Maybe Jake wasn't buying underwear for Reese or any other woman :)) that's why he ran....

Man..a snow storm in the ATL. I didn't believe it would happen but yet here it is. Reminded me of Buffalo all over again. I'm sure everyone on the east coast will get much worst weather for sure. Sounds like you got yours already PG. Everybody take it slow and be careful.

Great Spotlight as usual Special. Thank you. That lady sure does sound alot like Patsy Cline.

Have a good sunday night everyone.

prairiegirl said...

Clarity, you're getting snow?? holy cow! You know what? Venturing down the highway, it really didn't look like we got all that much. You could see brown grass everywhere. I don't know why it looked like 3-4 outside the window. Maybe the way the wind was blowing it around. Not that I'm complaining, tho.

I was reading a couple of comments on a journal page that had that picture of Jake's back outside the medical office and it was funny to see questions about why he was wearing jeans that were obviously too baggy and not his size. lol

Checking in late today. Yeah, Prairie Girl, those pants are barely hanging on. Way too big to be his. Have we ever come across Jake or Austin's measurements? I mean like neck, waist, arm, hip, pants length etc. Austin seems not only taller, but beefier than Jake to me.

I'm excited about Jake possibly starring in a musical. We'll finally hear the kid sing! Since Peter, Austin and Billy Crystal have all commented on his singing he's probably one of those people who constantly belts out a tune. My only fear is Jim Carrey. He's a (very) guilty pleasure of mine. I love his earlier films (Dumb & Dumber is in my all time top 3...) but lately he has failed to star in any decently written films. I'm hoping Damn Yankees will be and exception.

LOL at Jake buying women's underwear at M&S. Not the hottest choice.

Sorry I'm off topic and late on the discussions. I love the Out spotlights. They are always very inspiring.

A little romantic idea, can you imagine if Austin can play the piano and the two of them run through show tunes of an evening. Cute thought eh?

I have been out trying to shovel and sweep out through about 6.5 inches of snow! We did not work
today because the roads are so bad.
I have just one question-did they
ever show a photo of the ring that
Jake supposedly bought? I do hope
that he gets to do the musical for
I would like to hear him sing! I
juat think that he has really made
a change from what he used to be.
I just hope that everyone has a
really safe week. I long to see
spring arrive!!

Is it possible that Jake is bisexual and he really does love
Reese? I wonder about this at times. I also wonder what would
happen if they were to marry? I do
think that they have run all this
into the ground.

Jake could be bisexual, but he doesn't date nor love Reese.

No.

Destiny, did you make it into work today alright? Jim Cantore & the Weather Channel are giving it the name of "Mega Storm".

two fingers crossed over heart. I do solemnly swear from this day forward until Friday, 3/6, should the good Lord will me to see that day, that I, pg, will not spend the majority of my vacation keying on my laptop.

lol

Yeah, last time I had a week off, that's about where it went. pffft! That's when laptop elbow came into existence.

Good morning, everyone! Guess it's about lunchtime for eastcoasters. Eastcoastfan, whatever in the heck happened to you? Did you totally leap overboard the ship? Sail away on a dinghy, never to cross this shore again?
Well, everyone can take heart over this weather, because our warming temperatures will probably be headed directly your way.

New Ted question posted today:

Dear Ted:
Loved hearing your voice from the press room at the after-Oscar broadcast but would have loved to see you. Anyways, watched Walk the Line for the second time yesterday and was struck by the chemistry between Reese and Joaquin. What gives here? Is her acting really that great? Do share.
—JenJen, Chicago

Dear Cross the Line:
Are you saying Reese Witherspoon's the new Julia Roberts? Do tell.

Wicked said...

I'm very disappointed. We didn't get as much snow as anticipated so Tink still has ground clearance. She still managed to enjoy herself greatly this morning.

Anonymous said...

The new Julia Roberts? I don't have a clue what Ted means by that.

Just thinking about Austin's recent post some more. "Mad as hell and not going to take it anymore". Is he going to put his foot down finally. Even if it was just truly a movie reference, it seems like a very Freudian statement.

Dear Ted:
Your column is fab—I look forward to reading it every day at work! Just wondering—is Toothy Tile Brian Austin Green?

Dear Matchmaker:
No, but BAG could be his type.

Julia Roberts gets an oscar for Erin B , but even if she was good it wasn't a exceptionnal performance !!!

Thanks for asking PG, I did make it to work with no problems at all. There isn't even all that much snow so far, maybe 4-6 inches, although I keep hearing noise about that possibly doubling by the end of the day.

My gf's company called her last night and said they were going to be closed today, lucky girl. It would be the perfect day to just hang out and go for a walk in the park.

Anonymous said...

The role of Erin B was exceptional and memorable, I thought. Probably my favorite Julia role, and Pretty Woman. ;)

prairiegirl said...

Glad you made it alright, Destiny! They were saying that schools in NYC were closed today for the first time in several years. Wow. They close schools around here at the drop of a hat.

And poor Wicked. Darn, I was wishing for a good one for you all. Isn't that the way it always is? The ones who don't want a big snow, get it. And the ones who do want it, get the dusting.

Gonna head out for a walk in a bit. At least I can walk on the street in my park. Always wanted to purchase some snowshoes for days like this and try a hand at that. That looks like some really good exercise, like running on the beach or a rock trail.

BAG is not only perfectly fine being fondled in public in broad daylight, he also is pretty well endowed.
Ted trying to imply something about Austins nether regions here? Or is it just to say that Jake likes them big?
Or is Ted simply saying again that Jake and Austin like public sex?
