I am going to wait until after OTH starts and we see what happens next before I put a label on this. It could just be "let's give them ideas even though there is no fire" to promote the show, or the beginning of full-on bearding. No way to know from what we've seen so far. We know Austin is a very affectionate guy, so the fact there has been none in the photos says something (although it could mean just they usual HW fauxmance buildup).
The comments on JJ could peel the paint off the walls. It's really ugly. I suspect some of them come from our Reeke-loving trolly.
I'm beginning to think all this is just what's done with movie and film promotion, regardless of the sexuality of the stars involved. A little are they, aren't they intrique to promote the show. Obviously the stakes are higher with J&R. :( I wonder if wearing Big Blue out and proud is Austin's way of acknowledging this. :)

I think you make a good point, too. I realize that now, after having watched Jennifer & Vince Vaughn, Kate Hudson & 1000+ other co-stars, etc.
I also agree with Destiny. It's really hard to tell with this one. I jumped on the bearding wagon right off the bat but now having seen the rest of this, it's hard to say if it's soley for the show. That's what I'm leaning towards, anyway, promo-ing for the show.
And I quit reading some those JJ comments. Interesting how someone brought up Austin's DUI. Now how many of today's OTH fans would even be aware of that? I bet hardly any, if not zero. Someone planting that ugly reminder out there to ruin things.
Just goes to show how those kinds of things in one's past will always be brought up to try and bring a person down, even if it's no longer the person that you are or has no relevancy any longer.

I agree Buffalo Girl, there is a lot of this that goes on for promoting a specific project. I am not a fan of it, in part because it assumes the norm is not only heterosexual, but being in a relationship, and because I think people should be sold on their own merits.
Reeke has gone well beyond that. If Reeke had disappeared after Rendition came out, then I would have put it in the same category and thought nothing more of it. Reeke is full on-bearding, done regardless of what is being promoted--or should I say, the thing being promoted is Jake is straight and Reese is desirable (and not a woman dumped by her husband for a younger, prettier, more talented actress and seemingly nicer, down-to-earth woman).
In the way its being played with the matching outfits and the couples stuff in the rags and the floating of the rewritten history that they had been dating for two years in 2006 and got back together, sorry it sound more than promotion for the show.
I am not going to be surprised if this more than start of OTH. Remember Jake and Reese it was Rendition in the beginning.
I do think Austin and Sophia actually do get along and have chemistry. That Sophia likes him and Jake. And they are both helping each other out. And that is mutual, and one trying not to be the boss of the whole thing.
There is a lot of differences but a whole lot a similarities.
I find it great to see Big Blue back, and even more interesting that it is made its comeback when it did. And you might be thrilled with what its saying anymore, but its saying it loud and clear.
I agree with you all, just being strictly business doesn't make it any better. It is sad that it assumes straightness as the norm. I was just hoping that just maaaaybe Bushnic wouldn't last much longer than OTH promotion. It's disappointing, but I'm so glad to see Big Blue again, I do think that is significant. :)

Jim Verraros, from American Idol (Season One), is getting married to his boyfriend of 4 years, Bill Brennan, this Saturday in Oak Brook, IL. They met after Bill messaged Jim on MySpace following Jim being on American Idol.

Wow, what a day. The song selection is terrific. So appropriate. And the ring is back!!! Hooray. I do think Jake and Austin find ways to let us know they are still together and in love despite what their jobs require them to do. You cant tell me they are not aware of these sites or what is being said on them. Austin looked great, especially his hair. And an honest to god smile. If you are going to do fake promo, its best to use a woman you are truly friends with. I guess Jake didn't have anyone who fit that bill so had to settle for Reese.
Off now to checkout Buckley and the baby footprint.
Buckley is indeed hot, hot, hot. Thanks for the link. He has a Jake like quality about him. Handsome, but just a bit goofy looking at the right angle. I found no women mentioned when I googled him the other day, and saw this on the website linked here. "What was your craziest night out? Every night of Fashion Week. At the parties, there's not a woman under 6´2˝ and not a guy with body fat over 4 percent. It's all a blur. I'm still recovering from it [months later]." I don't think too many straight guys would mention the <4% body fat of the men. They would be drooling over the female models.

The OTH preview looks great, There's just something about Sophia, and of course Austin is beautiful. They make a great on-screen couple. :)
Wow, watching that clip, I have to agree, Robert B. reminds me a lot of Jake, the younger, happier, carefree Jake. Even if nothing is going on, I can't help wondering if Austin doesn't find him kind of hot too.

Kind of interesting to read the comments on ONTD about the latest Austin and Sophia pictures. Almost as many mentions of Jake and Austin as Sophia and Austin as a couple, some chatter about JFC, a posting of Austin's Details magazine photo, and almost as many people wishing Sophia would date someone else as say they like them together.

I saw the comments over on ONTD too Dest. I think alot of people just want Sophia to date someone other than one of her co-stars. There is still a strong voice about Jake and Austin and even over on Just Jared, there are comments about Toothy, Goose, Jake & Austin. Don't know how many people look over on OTH groups, but there were a little tiff over one about Sophia and Austin for real and for PR. OTH fans are very invested in their show and are very passionate on both sides of the aisle on this one. (BushNic)
we seriously need to find out why jake is going to the dr over and over again. he's been more in the last year than i've been in 20 years. what is up with him? he looks kinda ick to me, but like i said the other day, i'm not sure if its just that he's changed some with age and i don't find him as handsome as before, or if it's that he's just gaunt and haggard looking from something being wrong. the problem could be mental or physical. maybe he's got problems dealing with life. he certainly wouldn't be alone in the department. he looks so NOT pleased at getting those pics made, makes me feel bad looking at them.

They both seem so egotistical, and from the small previews of the movie, trying to overact each other. And I wonder if all three leads were on the same cycle when the movie wrapped? Doesn't Hollywood have any true romantic leads who can act beside Leo D.? He can't do all the movies, can he?

But we have seen the way that Austin has worn it over the years (and in particular how he would flash it and grin when it was new); it's hard not to imagine that it has some sort of significance....

Maybe it isn't the same one, but I always like to think so - Austin said that movie meant a lot to him . . . so I think a lot of us thought Jake might have given it to Austin, as Jake said it was an important film for him as well.

The first time Austin was seen wearing the ring was in early 2006. There was a story about Jake spending time around Christmas 2005at a resort in the Caribbean, a place where a rare blue stone very similar to turquoise is found (can't recall the name). Some people think that is when Austin got the ring.
The ring pretty much disappeared in the middle of JFC promotion, when Jake started the really heavy-duty Reeking. Except that Austin was wearing it in photos with Sophia in NYC for fashion week in early 2008.
Big Blue - some people think it is turquoise but personally now I tend to think it Larimar which is rare blue stone that is only found in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. Big Blue showed up around Dec 2005, and in picture at the Lakers I game, and it became obvious that Austin was quite proud of the ring by the way he was seen showing flashing it like some would flash a championship ring.

Some say it is with its look to a similar ring to one in BBM.

I tend to think, after reading that Jake vacationed at an ultra exclusive/private resort in the Dominican Republic that it might have come from a trip for two.
Big Blue took a lower profile, it looks like for another ring sometimes seen on a chain. But somehow it pops up at very poignant times as if a message.
Looks like I was the long winded one, but smart minds think alike.
Austin did take his ring off when he was doing PR for JFC. I remember he went on Jimmy Kimmel without it, and also his "date" with Jen Esposito that same night at .... hmmmm ... Madeo.

No, I'm not. Why is stating the obvious getting me called a Babbler? There is no proof of the meaning of Big Blue. You can make up anything you want, but there is nothing to hang your hat on and say this is why I think the ring is tied to Jake. Why is this threatening?
