Hey you know they could create a little 90210 scene playing on the TV. You know there's this guy who kind of looks like Brian Austin Green...
But thinking about movies you got think about soundtracks. Will there be a montage to Chumbawumba's Tubthumping? (Wait that's Cialis) Maybe Hanson's MmmmBop instead? Some Pearl Jam?
Would you buy Viagra from this man? Would you need Viagra with this man, looking like this? Damn.

LaOD is sounding better and better - I'm not a huge fan of romantic comedies, but occasionally if one is different I enjoy them. This one is starting to sound really good, the premise sounds good, and who couldn't love Jake and Anne together again.

Zwick has a huge job to cast this movie. He has to get hospitals and doctor offices filled with physicians, staff and patients. And for a salesman he's got different places to go so no sneaky using the same people over and over.

One thing I do like about Love & Other is how they are using the people of Pittsburgh, and how they are keeping the public aware of everything that is happening in production.

Judy Greer has been cast in the new Ed Zwick film "Love and Other Drugs." Thesp will play a pharmaceutical company trainee instructor in the Fox drama written by Charles Randolph ("The Interpreter"), based on a novel by Jamie Reidy about a Viagra salesman.
Well, maybe darkly comic - I've heard it referred to as a romantic comedy as well. I thought the book had some amusing stories the stuff that goes on behind the scenes. I'm not entirely sure, I haven't read it. To me, selling Viagra isn't a matter of life and death, like the Vioxx scandal or something. Anything to do with love and sex is bound to have some comic moments. The way they describe the characters is amusing - Josh Gad is in it, Anne's is freespirted, Jake's is loveably roguish. I may be wrong tho. It sounds like fun. :)
Don't know if they will make it a traditional romcom, but from the cast it doesn't sound like Zwick is making a traditional drama, look at the cast.
But really how can you make a serious drama about selling pills to give old men boners?
"This book is really two books:the first 25% and the last 25% are interesting observations of how Big Pharma works (like a well oiled machine); the role of sales reps (helping MDs sort through the welter of info they get); the tactics of persuasion employed on Mds (hard core selling but effective; and the hiring of sexy/attractive woman as reps (it works).
The middle is how he did as little work as possible for the most benefit to himself---depending on your outlook it will either make you laugh or make you angry. All in all, a worthwhile and easy read."
It may be very interesting then, some serious parts and then some comic. I want to hear more. Some of it is no laughing matter of course. Jake being a charmer at the game ought to be fun, to see if Anne can outsmart him, who wins. ;)
You can never tell what HW is going to do with a book, but Zwick usually does movies with a social message. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't play up the romance to get people into the theaters.

How about this song
I've worked in medicine/research for most of my career and have met lots of pharm reps so I know how much fun it would be to satirize them and all the smarmy things they do. All the pens, the little pads of paper, flash drives, little gadgets give aways, the drug sponsored free lunches, tickets to games and at Christmas, all the presents and playing favorites to see if it will get more business and that's just to staff that's not to the docs, that's even more, 10x more.
How they always are looking for something from you even if you aren't the prescriber. Because it can get them something anything they need to get ahead.
They're always the best looking, the most charming, sweet talking.(I'm talking the male reps here) The story always goes that Pharm companies like to recruit female college cheerleaders, because they have so much energy. Yeah that's it energy it's energy they're hiring them for.
Its like a top car salesman showing up in your office and you find yourself ending up signing on a fully loaded top of the line SUV without even knowing you needed a car. And just sitting there afterward going ...from oh my to...oh damn.

One Tree Hill has been officially picked up for the full 22 episodes this season! Congrats to the cast, crew, and YOU fans!!!
Read the review of the early early cut of PoP and it sounds like it has some good bones to it with the performances. But it sounds like there will be more editing of clunky script, and muddled middle.
Although it was pretty ambivalent review, it's wasn't as harsh on it like some might have thought.
And it sounds like Jake did have some sparks with Gemma and some good moments with his onscreen brothers. And that he brought a good performance.
It is interesting that he mention the script though, because the creator of Prince of Persia has script writing credit. Make you wonder if it the dialog was written sounding more like a video game than movie.
The reviewer's enthusiasm about the dagger lends me to think that effect must be really cool.
And 4/5th of the test group liking it hey I would say - even with it needing more work, sound like they have something pretty good to start.
It strikes me as a bit early to be screening the film, but then again this one has a humongous budget so they are most likely not taking any chances. I wonder if the test group were all HW insiders.
Clarity, my thoughts are with you. I have 2 nieces in the Atlanta area as well, but both had no flooding problems.
