Another movie project for Jake?
Eric Eason, who wrote and directed the award-winning indie feature Manito, will rewrite and direct Intermedia Films' Wannabe. Jake Gyllenhaal is eyeing the project but no deals are yet in place and there is no start date for the film.
The film is described as a modern-day mob story based on the offspring of mobsters who defy the traditions and protocols of their elders and embark on their own bloody paths.
The project was originally based on a New Yorker magazine article by Mike McAlary and adapted by CSI creator Anthony Zuiker.

My only hope for Fake now is that when reeke is over and indeed if he and Austin have broken up is that he meets a guy not in show business. I hope this guy is brave and has the balls to stand up to Mom and gives him the freedom to end the lying and deceit and to be who he is. Austin is certainly not that guy.

I am not sure that they J and A have broken up. It was great seeing Big Blue. But we dont know for sure what it means or symbolizes. I think A seems like a really sweet guy but as long as J and A remain a couple neither will ever come out. I came to Waiting for Toothy and OMG in the hope that I could celebrate with people who had the same dream that Jake would come out after BBM. Our dream has regressed and not progressed. I just wish the tide would turn when I could feel that the dream will still come true.
Kacie... i went to ihj and looked at all the photos, looking for that Little bit of Happier that you saw, but sadly, i didn't see it. i didn't see the scorn or anger i was maybe expecting, but all i see is beat down and miserable here, and really, that's all i see in any of his pics anymore. the exception is the beach pic, and that looked pretty much posed to me. and he looked silly but happy in the race pics. but in every J&R photo op lately, and every other J out and about alone pic lately, he just looks depressed and sad.
i think either one of two things is probably the culprit:
1) he really is depressed and sad about his life. if he and reese are just for show, he must be sick to death of that - of having sold his freedom in exchange for his career and for having to devote his life to keeping every thing else secret.
if they ARE for real, which i'm beginning to feel is at least semi-probable, then he still has no reason to be happy. she makes him look like a dead-beat, tagging along behind her and keeping her kids and holding off her fans while she makes hit movies, and when he makes movies they flop. he's said many times that he wants kids. maybe he does. maybe, straight or not, he wants to make a baby with a woman. that obviously isn't working out, and he looks more and more like a failure in that dept as well. every other guy who's been with a woman as long as him and reese has gotten married and/or pg by now, but not jake.
2) i think he hates the paps and OUR interest in his life. i think it just rubs it in that he's not doing what he wants, and he knows a few days after he gets papped, his picture will show up somewhere with a bunch of folks who don't really know him or anything about his personal life analyzing him and picking him apart.
when you're on top of the world, that's not fun but you can deal with it, laugh and go on. but when your life mostly sucks, like it seems that his does, then it's just one more jab with a rusty sword.
i feel so bad for him. and i feel real bad for even typing this, because it's just the sort of thing i imagine he hates. :(

I don't think they will let him have it that long for the role in Love and Other Drugs. They guy he is portraying is Former Army and a Pharma Rep and they are pretty much wearing short and tight.
I am loving the color. Deep and dark with lots of depth. Prefer it to his color for PoP and the super dark of Good Girl, Lovely & Amazing etc.

I call Jake the Fake now. I also am not forgetting that there are zero successful young leading out gay men in HW. What are the chances that in reality none are gay. I believe zero. My bet is that somewhere between 30 and 50 percent of HW leading men are either Bi or Gay. So I am very aware that Jake is not the only Fake. He is the one I care about most though. He gave us BBM and a dream that has not yet been fulfilled for us or him.

Well, I am at home for a brief couple of minutes. Molly, Lucy, & Jingles' mama came home early due to the fact that it was pouring rain where they were at and they were in a camper. So dogsitting gig is over and I must not linger too long because I have a niece & nephew probably wrapping it up over at Monkey Business and will be heading over to the hacienda. So that is where I am going to be heading very soon.

Funny post today. I love the navy T and the form fitting jeans, for once. Can't say that I like the scowl, though. He just doesn't look too happy there; but then like I said, I haven't seen the rest of them. Who knows. Maybe he has a photo op engagement this evening that he's not looking forward to. I'm just thrilled to see some honest, good old fashioned blue jeans. Baby steps, baby steps. Next thing to work on is downsizing that size, lol.

Sienna, I totally sympathize with the rolling it over & over in one's head. If you think about it too much, for too long, though, you'll go nuts. It does seem extreme. But look at what closeted Hollywood stars have done for all these years, people that you didn't know (okay, you may have had an inkling, but they still were not out) were gay but until they were dead and their biographies were then published afterwards, do we see how they carried on their lives all during their careers.
Only now with the internet, camera phones, blogs, and tell-all books, is it harder for some of these folks to live totally free of scrutiny. Too bad Mike Wallace or Greta Van Sustern don't do a special on how Stars Fly Under the Radar in Hollywood or something like that. Spill all the secrets on how they do it. It'd be an eye opener. They could have Special on there and she could show how pap pictures are used to show us how the celebs want to be seen.

i know it used to be that way, and Tom, i agree with you: the fact that there are so few OUT gay actors, and no A-Listers seems rather unbelievable. IE: if you took a poll of amateur theater and whatever is between that and Broadway, how many of the guys busting their chops on stage are gay? I think quit a few. I do wonder what is going on with Jake that he looks so down even when he's not with the General. And presumably Austin is in LA right now, so if they're still together shouldn't we be seeing a happier Jake?
Even if they're still together, the odds are not good. In the old days gay HW stars didn't have to hide as much as they have to now, what with cells, twitter, the internet, etc. It's hard enough for people in HW to stay together given the nature of the business, then you add the closet on top of that. I know it's hard to get information, but honestly, how many other relationships like TT and GG do you hear about--I can't think of any.
Reeke gets to visit each other on the set, but Jake and Austin don't get to do that. How long before someone like Robert Buckley, who is right there, and is someone you can be seen with because people will just assume you're hanging with a co-worker, or there's some civilian you can pass off as an assistant, friend, etc. Not saying anything is necessarily going on now, or will, but it has to be hard.
Finally watched the latest promo, I thought Austin seemed a little uncomfortable when talking about long-distance relationships. Clearly it was hitting too close to home.

Weekend is now literally going to be sucked up by my niece & nephew, I can see it all now right before me.
We took our niece to the local town video store that is going out of business to see if we could find some Mario gokart Wii game but there was not a Wii game to be found. Not even a candy bar. I think this might be another hint to Austin/Robert. The question talks about Jake feeling sad and jealous. It's too much of a coincidence it's signed by a "Robbie" (Robert) and Ted replies with a "Dear Duh". Robert's official twitter is named @robbuckleyduh. It's been deleted, but you can still see it listed on the CW site and linked on the official one tree hill twitter.

Sienna I agree with most of your earlier post. It's got to be hard whether the gossip is true or not to deal with a lot of what's being said. We are all human, including Jake, and some things that are said hurt. I also think Jake is with Reese and into her regardless of what others say here. I don't think he's totally straight either, but still with her and dealing with her only. It makes sense especially since everyone is watching. I know the babbler police will start shouting babbler sh_t at me, but it's just because the poster doing it can't deal with a true since of reality that Jake is with the woman for now, and that does hurt some posters. It's a fact. Another fact "for now" is that Jake does not want to be labeled or seen as gay. Austin either! Even if they ARE gay, or bi, or even straight.

i completely agree with Ted about his Career comment. Karla and i were talking about jake's career last night, and she actually said she only sees him as a mediocre actor. i countered that by saying that when he has good roles, he's great, but his roles have a tendancy to suck, and be in movies that suck or have very limited appeal.
personally, i think he's a good actor, but i only see one movie a year, so i'm not the best judge of talent. and like she said, no matter what role he plays, he still seems like Jake. you can't say that about heath - he disappeared when he played a role. there was no evidence of heath, only of the character. so maybe jake isn't superior at his craft; maybe he's just so dang pretty that it keeps him busy, but only with mediocre work.
i certainly can't get real excited about any of his recent movies other than BBM, and i think his looks and overall sweetness and vulnerability played a huge part in him getting that role.
i forgot what i was talking about... duh... oh yeah, duh. ok. i think that -after filming bbm - jake probably thought he was on a wild ride to success, but it turned out rather quickly to be a one-hit wonder situation. now, i honestly think if he wasn't tagging along with reese he wouldn't get nearly the attn, invites or magazine time that he does.
that just has to be such a huge disappointment for him, and of the 3 movies he has in the can, which one is generating all the buzz??? uh..... none of them. even disney isn't making any POP noise. so his little tail feathers have to be dragging pretty bad about now. he definitely has a good reason to look sad.
IMO the Austin/Robert connection to the Jake career answer is: Jake is doing movies not TV so he doesn't have the ongoing family-environment of a regular cast, he can't come out as a movie leading man, and he doesn't have any gay buddies he can hang out with because he works with them and it's ok to be seen with them. Career-wise, Jake is working solo in a no-man's land whereas Austin is surrounded by others just like him and he can be what he wants.

let me bring up religion, just for kicks. even tho there isn't one shred of actual evidence that any one religion is right, wrong, or semi onto something, they all have their supporters who tout their ideals. some do it for love, some for money, some just because they enjoy the discussion.

Jealousy isn't always about sex. IMO this is about Rob working with Austin every day, having conversations, being friends, having a confidante, etc. MAYBE it could lead to other things but the fact that Austin is wearing the blue ring makes me suspect it hasn't. I did not have the patience to read 300+ comments to Ted's post, most of which get taken over Pattison anyway, but of those I read Jake being a BV was taken as one more confirmation of Jake is Toothy, the haal of fame BV.
Good comment about Jake being alone. Had not thought of that but Austin literally has two families to support him, his real family which is still together and his TV family of coworkers that seems to get along fairly well. Jake's family is in disarray at the moment, you know Reese is a selfish, non sympathetic type and the person he can be himself with is in NC much of the time. No wonder he looks so grumpy all the time.
I've heard so many rumored movies for Jake, I cant excited about another one. If it ever starts filming, then I'll give it some thought.
Jake's hair looked good, though it needed a wash. That's the longest I've seen the beard in a while, the facial hair beard, I mean.

Interesting discussion today considering there were no new pictures to spurn it on. I must say that I've been burned a few times by responding to someone who comes on as a non believer but tried to get friendly. What makes it so hard to believe now is that the person always tries to make it sound like they've been a commenter/reader for a real long time yet funny how they don't have a regular name. Even a semi regular name.

That’s so sweet for you guys to think about me. I had a great birthday and I feel truly blessed. A good friend is visiting from Florida and we are having a great time.
