First the love ...
that Austin is a now a series regular on One Tree Hill, and that the 7th season starts tonight on The CW, at 8pm EST/7pm CST. It's great to know that we will see Austin on TV for 22 episodes this year and with reruns, that over 30 weeks of the tall Texan.
So what's going to happen tonight on OTH?
Well Nathan (James Lafferty) learns of a shocking accusation that could threaten his pro basketball career, much to the chagrin of his sports agent Clay (Robert Buckley). Brook get ready to launch a new fashion line, while Julian decides to produce a big movie. Haley’s sister Quinn (Shantel VanSanten) makes a surprise visit. Meanwhile, Jamie celebrates his 7th birthday. Keep you eyes open for a US Football legend and one time Dancing with the Stars contestant.
Of course we already know that Austin is "shirtless and sandy" within the first 4 minutes, but what will he be in the rest of it?
Big congrats to Austin and Good Luck for the season ahead!

Jake's movie Love and Other Drugs is really shaping up to be a great comedy. Yesterday The Hollywood Reporter reported that there are three new cast members on board for the movie.
Gabriel Macht is going play a hotshot Prozac salesman who's involved romantically with Maggie (Anne), a free-spirited woman with Parkinson's disease who enters into a relationship with charming Viagra salesman Jamie (Jake).
Hank Azaria is playing an unscrupulous doctor and client of Jamie's, and Oliver Platt plays his boss, a beleaguered pharmaceutical rep desperate to boost Jamie's sales.
Edward Zwick and his Bedford Falls partner Marshall Herskovitz ( "Thirtysomething", "The Last Samurai," "Legends of the Fall") are producing with Scott Stuber, who originated the project. Charles Randolph ("The Interpreter") wrote the script, and Pieter Jan Brugge are producing, as well.
With Platt and Azaria along with Josh Gad and Judy Greer. This is going to be one of the most fun casts Jake's ever worked with, I can imagine it will be one of the funniest and fun shoots Jake will have. There will be plenty of grins this fall in Pittsburgh.
Can you imagine have Hank Azaria who does half the voices of the Simpson hanging out with Jake? If Anne is smart she will change her cell numbers now before the prank calling from Dr. Nick Rivera, Prof. Frink or Moe starts looking for a date or a tiny dancer getting a late night booty call from Cletus the Slack Jaw Yokel and as someone else giggles in the background.

I had no idea he was on a new series. I followed his last series on HBO and was not happy when it was cancelled. He was the absolute best actor on that series. Glad he's back...he deserves a better career and I hope he gets it.

I'm not a Jake and Reese fan, but it he chose to be with her, it's his choice. If Jake walked down the street with coffee in his hands everyday for the next 4 weeks. You, PraireGirl and 90% of the posters here would pick him apart to no end. Not thinking a pap in his face constantly (when he does not want it) could be the cause of the smirks and disgust.
If you or all of the posters would really be honest with yourselves, you might be able to see this in yourselves.
whenever Jake is walking with the woman smiling, a whole host of tearing apart from the posters go into overdrive. If he's smiling with her it's fake and then comes the body analysis. Then when he's frowning, it's his fault, it's Reese's fauslt.
Jake is with Reese at this poing in his life. Most of you should be looking at the Logo channel which is talking about sexuality and bisexuality, especially from a male point of view. Most of you will and cannot comprehend this. If Jake is gay or bi or straight, it's quite obvious that he has chosen to be with Reese. As soon as most of you are able to accept this without ridiculing him and his every move, you can move on. The need for Jake or Austin to please you all is insane. Jake, Reese, Austin and Ted knows this, it's just disgusting for Jake and would be for anyone of you if you were in his shoes.
Let Jake live his life whether you agree with it or not.

I think babbler is a misnomer in many cases, and troll may be an exaggeration, but what else can you call someone who comes here and insults the regular posters on this site? Posters like Jakefan like to come here to lecture the regulars about how insane, blind and dishonest they are. Are the regulars supposed to sit back and graciously accept the insults that are being made? Or are they supposed to be like wicked and stop posting because some unknown poster insulted her once?
I don’t post here anymore because I’ve lost all interest in Jake. I do lurk because I’ve followed the saga for so long that I don’t want to lose touch with it completely. As soon as I read an insult I just skim right past it and any of the following onslaught of comments by unknowns. Makes for much more enjoyable reading.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't recall poster ever being called a troll or babbler if they posted under the name they've always used. I have seen posts that I thought were written by regulars, under different names, that expressed different opinions that then got attacked for being too pro-Reeke.
I have also seen regulars being critized for being too negative, again by what appear to be regular posters using new names.
In short, if you veer from the party line you're likely to be attacked, regardless of what side you're perceived as being on.
Unless people are 100% certain someone is a troll, they shouldn't call them that. And they should post their own arguments and beliefs rather than just getting nasty about what someone else says. Using regular names also helps, that is one reason I am sure anons are not allowed.
Looking forward to tonight. I wonder if Austin and Robert will ever have any scenes together. Based on their respective roles, I don't think its likely.
Hate to bring up this word today but re twitter, the biggest problem with it is that unless the twitter is from the star himself/herself, it is totally boring. The whole concept of twitter is for someone special to share their personal thoughts and feelings. Like an Ashton or Demi, or whoever, not that I am a fan of theirs, but you get the point. A twitter saying hey I saw so and so from some random unknown person on the planet is just like reading Gawker Stalker. OK, you saw someone on the street, big deal. And if I cant see it myself, like a pap pic, its just one more meaningless bit of info to skim over. Papa G blogging, Austin blogging, that's interesting because they are sharing themselves, giving us a glimpse of their personality. Now if Jake had his own twitter account and started doing it, I'd be all over it.

I also think we should skim right by the insults; I'm no exception, I've taken offense to them as well, and should learn to use my scroll wheel. It's too bad that we can't all believe what we believe, and then be civil to one another. All the blogs have something great to offer. Some believe J&R, some don't know, and some think it's a cover for J&R. I have always, right from the beginning, have taken a supportive stance because it's not easy, it's a process. I certainly have nothing against Reese, and if they truly are a couple, then I think that's great too. It's wrong for people to come here to stir up trouble when OMG doesn't do that to anyone else, and none of us knows for sure what's going on. TBH, I never ever would have kept up with all of this if it were not for Ted.

Using a regular name or not has nothing to do with a comment - it's what the comment says, the viewpoint and content. Criticizing someone and making gross misinterpretations of their post simply because you don't know who they are is like wanting to see who's playing the guitar before you decide if you like their music.

^^ Exactly. Read the comment first, then decide if the poster is an obnoxious babbler or troll. Usage of a regular name or lack thereof should not be a factor with the actual content of the comment. If people are deciding if a comment is okay based on whether it came from a regular-named or a spontaneously-named poster, then there are obvious bias issues going on.

Besides maybe Cumming or even Pierce, I don't see any of them being action stars. Especially not Ian McKellan lol! Pierce was great and believable (in a satire way) as hetero Niles Crane. What's mind boggling though is that no action stars or romantic leads have come out, so how would HW assume gay can't play there? I suppose they do testing on markets to gauge attitudes but still, a sample isn't always a true meter. That 1 guy came out, Rupert Everett, but I heard his lack of roles had more to do with his lack of talent and his big ego, not being gay.
Rupert has always been swoonworthy to me, and would be very wonderful in period pieces. He's the very picture of a romantic leading man from another era to me. I go on and on about him in Sherlock Holmes. I like Ian Cumming a lot too.

OTH is the first time I saw Austin play the romantic lead. I'd say he is does his job very well, his chemistry with Sophia Fisher is off the charts. I'm not usually a primetime watcher or somebody that enjoys couples on shows, but I would rank the chemistry that they have up there with Lost's Jack & Kate or Kate & Sawyer, Grey's Alex & Izzie, they are really believable.
I know Jake is he big movie star and all, but I starting to wonder if AN is not the more talented of the two of them.
I'm also not convinced he is or ever was Jake's boyfriend. I don't get the in your face gay vibe that others proclaim to get.
He seems very down to earth and easy going, he also seems to or did until recently live a sort single party lifestyle.

^^ Don't fool yourself, If I remember correctly, Wicked stop posting daily because she was no longer interested in Jake or Austin because of the decision they (both) have taken. She also was on the fence if Jake and Reese were real even though she does not like bearding. She also thought Austin was a big part of what was happening and did not give him a pass simply because he had not bearded yet or started dating a woman at that time. Sure, she does not like the arguments on the site, but she also seems not to be interested in a game of supporting and waiting for someone to come out who may be not be coming out and does not want the support of the women and gay men who are constantly upset about Jake's decision and post about it everyday. She also does not believe in Babytile as most middle age women here do.

Just to clear up something, when I said there was a party line, I didn't mean it in the way on other blogs certain comments get deleted, are not welcomed by the creator, etc. I think you've created a great place Special, and you've tried very hard to make everyone feel welcome. What I meant is that certain things come under attack by other posters. A lot of people have things that punch their buttons, and then the gloves come off.
So what did I mean? It's probably easier to mention the things that are not part of the party line, so to speak, and that come in for heat. Not saying it happens all the time, or that people don't sometimes have very civil and intersting discussions. But these are the topics that can also just get downright ugly.
1. Suggestions that Reeke (and now Sophin) is real. I agree that there are other places for people who want to talk about that, and if people really feel that way, they should seek out those sites. But what if someone is a long-time poster awho has changed their mind, or wants to talk about that possibility.
2. It's okay to critize/blame Reese and PR for the bearding, photo opps, using Ava and Deacon, the tabloid nature of the whole thing, but you can't blame Jake. Jake is just a victim.
3. Any negative criticism of Jake and Austin. Granted, Jake gets most of it, which is not fair, but it is how some people feel. Some of the nastiest argument at OMG have been when posters have complained about other posters being too negative, and I think a lot of people got tired of being jumped on, and figure why bother. That is how I read Wicked's comment today (apologies Wicked if I am wrong).
4. People who don't think you have to have photographic evidence to back up every instance of Reeking. People can believe J&A are together without photos, why not Reeke?
5. People who want to discuss Reeke, and want to read/discuss twitter sightings, Reeke photos, etc., like the whole blowup yesterday. Some people may not want to talk about that at all, but it doesn't make the ones who do so babblers, trolls and others out to "hurt" OMG/JIG believers. Some of us would like to talk about it here with regulars, and not just as anons at wft2. Yesterday that was impossible.
Some final thoughts. I didn't mean to imply that people shouldn't use whatever name they want, multiple names, etc. I was just pointing out that it increases the likelihood of being attacked. I think people do it because they've been burned one too many times by real trolls, some of whom start out with an innocent sounding post, and then when you try and engage them, out come the fists.
It would be a better place if people posted their own opinions, rather than just attacking another poster. For example, if you don't like the fact someone is critizing Jake because he looks unhappy and whipped, talk about how you feel about him, a picture you like and why, how you think it shows something different. Or just say you disagree, and leave it at that. But to start telling people what they should and shouldn't talk about, or saying they can only see night but not day, does nothing to further OMG as a community for everyone.
I love this place, I don't want to see it brought down from within.
Interesting summary, JakeFan. Shall I be expecting you to try and speak for me in other areas of my life or just here? You actually don't remember correctly. I stopped posting daily because I became interested in other things and wasn't interested in posting every day. I've chosen to decrease the time I spend online to focus on other things. My interest in Jake and Austin has waned, but I think some of that is the natural waning of interests in things. I've said many times that fandoms come and go and people are often not going to continue to be interested in the same things throughout their lives.
Another thing you are wrong about is my being on the fence about Reeke being real. I have never been on the fence about whether or not Reeke is real. I've said numerous times that I think Jake is involved by choice in a relationship with Reese that is mutually benficial to both. And I don't think that relationship is a romance.

First of all, it wouldnt' surprise me, they are co-stars and friends. Doesn't make them a couple; neither does the fact that you are sitting next to them at a charity event. Second, nobody else seems to be saying that about them, and I always take something from someone I know nothing about with a huge grain of salt.
I'd love to know where you saw reports of "icy stuff" from a year ago? I remember very well when Austin was seen in NYC in early 2008, and I do not remember reading anything like that, but I'm always willing to read anythign about Austin. If you have a link that would be even better.

I have posted or interacted on this board in several years, going back to the Reese & Jake hookup.
Back than I think I called Austin Nichols a nobody a d list actor at best.
Not just one person has blogged about Austin in Wilmington, there have been several on several sites and non or them are fangirls and most didn't even know who he was or weren't even interested in him until he hit OTH.
OTH is getting it's numbers in the 18-20 something demos. They are not the audience that Jake nor Reese targets or could target at this time. OTH are younger demo and they really don't care about JG or Reese witherspoon, they are all about the CW network Melrose, Gossip Girls, OTH and so on.
These people have no interest or major knowledge about this forum or what it represents.
I'm just passing by and adding given you credible information.
How you twist it and what you do with it or this post is your choice.
I will add to this, if AN and SB were using faking a relationship to promote a CW show or hide something than this isn't the way you do it. Because until a few sightings in the NYC are there has been little main media talk about them at all.
You don't attend weddings together or get spotted at airports in Atanta by fans. You do goto parties in which only one of you is photographed and the other goes in the back door. Several sites in the hamptons blogged about them kissing and acting like a couple, even just jared (the person who loves TT like no other) had to report that he saw them together and they were major cute.
Plus given SB record, she is more the legit messed up relationship type, just see what happened with her first husband.

Considering the movie that Jake was put on the map for, he should be the first person out there.
They were photographed holding hands in Soho. The were reported to be kissing and rubbing legs in East Hampton.

Like I posted above, Sophia Bush is a really big supporter of gay rights and took stood up for the issue in public, she put her name behind the matter and voiced her opinion.
In an interview she said that she was proud to be an american but at the moment not ashamed to be from the state of California for not allowing same sex marriage. She said in a time when people are at war and killing eachother there it makes zero sense to punish two people for loving eachother.
Sophia Bush might not be rich or as high in the rankings as Reese is, but she would not beard, it would be against all that she stands for.
So when a photo of them as a couple comes out eventually.
Then what will we think, that a woman as vocal as she is about the rights for same sex couples to wed would be faking a relationship with a gay man to improve both of their careers.
That just isn't who this person is, she also didn't pretend her marriage to her first loser husband was ok either, she kicked his but to the street after she found out he was cheating. Unlike Reese witherspoon who pretended to have a good marriage for almost all of her marriage when that was a total lie and he was hooking up with other women and living in a seperate home some of the time.
You can go after Jake & REese all you want for there fauxmance.
But Sophia Bush has been a supporter of same sex relationship and marriage and she was raised with that very same moral compass by her parents.

Like I posted before, in the past I was big Jake support person, but that has changed, I don't know what his deal is and I don't care.
But if you look at things via Austin, then you cannot ignore all the sources who know him, have seen him and are around him. Who just don't feed into this Toothy Tile storyline. Of course Austin isn't going to out Jake, he is way higher up on the hollywood gravytrain than he is. It would be like shooting himself in the foot. Austin has suffered more with this rumor, it would have done his career more good to say he is Jake Boyfriend than not at this point.
But many legit posters from Austin Texas, Michigan, Wilmington and LA who know him and go on the record for him don't support him being gay. Not that there is anything wrong with that..
It's not my attempt to make it Sophia Bush day, but I think it should be noted that she is a big supporter of gay rights and no afraid to stand up and support it.

If Austin and Sophia were dating, they have no reason to hide it. They are both single, no children, not hounded by paps. And no, tons of commenters from his old home town have not commented that Austin is straight, ever. A fellow actor did say he disappears on weekends, that much we do know.
I do not think Austin would hide it, but she would. For the simple fact that her first wedding and husband was a total jerk and she ended up having to eat crow with the press.
Let's suppose they are just starting things up, perhaps they want it private, what if things don't work out. You forget that these people have families and perhasp they don't want them to know that they are spending nights together across the coast.

Because it might be our (my) perception that when Jake is with her he looks glum or dull and lost his charisma. Well guess what. No matter how hard I tried to be unbiased I still see a BIG difference. HUGE. There's no arguing that.

Special, not just the long distance movie but 2 other things jumped out at me. 1. The beach walk with shoes in hand and a pier behind them. Just like the beach walk with Jake, Austin & Sophia. I have not replayed it yet but would not be surprised if a phantom pair of shoes is in the shot. 2. Austin gives up the movie because it is going to be a lucrative movie, not an important movie. Sounds like POP.
Overall the episode was OK. I dozed off for a moment but hit replay. Every guy except the kid had their shirts off at least once. I liked Robert and Austin was OK but I thought he did more kissing than acting. Hopefully he will show off more than his body in future weeks. That said, his body looked spectacular. He's obviously been working out.
Super game tonight I watched it to see Brady's comeback. He always did remind me of Joe Montana. A 2 minute master.

Long distance relationships in hollywood could and would apply to anyone. I'm sure they filmed in that spot on the beach at night because it's pretty and the lights from the bridge looked good in the backround.
One thing we know for sure is, AN is in Wilmington and not in NYC, so this year people cannot go looking at the arm sleeves of men sitting behind or next to Jake and claime them to be Austin, as they did last year.
Even adults don't tell there parents about all there relationships or affairs, that stuff is usually done when your serious about somebody.

I am extremely saddened by the death of Patrick Swayze, who maintained dignity and class throughout his illness in his dealings through the media with it and I just hope he didn't suffer too much in the end. I hurt for his wife and I just hurt that he was only 57 and once again, this horrible illness just keeps taking life after life. Not only taking lives but the treatments and the side effects. What they do to people and the families of the sick ones.

Like I stated before, my interest in this topic began because of Jake G and his relationship with Reese witherspoon and not wanting to believe he would goto such extremes to life a fake public life just to have a certain sort of career. I have honestly lost interest in Jake all together, I find him to be rather boring, way to guarded in his private vs public life, even if he is with Reese W for real. He just to hollywood for me at this time.
I'm looking at Austin Nichols the guy who has been drawn into this PR mess and I'm starting to see a different side of him. That he has his own story, his own life and his own history and set of friends and so forth, he isn't just the guy who is rumored to have been Toothytiles boyfriend (which other folks or gossip folks said he wasn't during several times in this saga, that it was another man).
My point is there is credible and real information about Austin Nichols out there on the net, from people who know him, people who see him and have been around him in places. They all say the same thing without question, that he likes woman.

I've been very busy with work lately but I’ve been following the discussions so some rambling about everything. First of all: I love the Austin & Robert video. Swoon! It's the best thing since the biking pictures. I can't even mention how many times I've watched it (Austin's tiny "thank you" is the best part :). Both of our boys are certainly very flirty with both men and women.
I've been thinking that I have totally underestimated J&A's ambition towards their work. I believe they both really want to go as far as they can in the business (and Austin has been very vocal about this. Anything goes if he gets the part) and it’s a dream they share. Now that Austin has finally got the break he's working looking for he's almost become a different person. Amazing self confidence compared to his previous shyness!
That being said I have no idea what I think is going on with Jake & Austin at the moment. How could they possibly hide so well for all these years? And how can Austin be so cheerful and glowing when Jake is visibly so down? I guess I still believe in them because of the small mentions like Austin disappearing for the weekends and Maggie talking around Reese in her latest interview. These tiny dissonances tell there might be something else going on behind the scenes. Also nothing will ever convince me that Jake and Reese were together at the time of their outing in Rome. Nobody looks as gloomy as Jake did with the alleged love of their life.

Jake’s new film is looking very interesting. I’m sad that PoP hasn’t had much buzz. I don’t like the bearding but I don’t want Jake to be ridiculed either. He has worked hard for it and I hope it's not a total failure. It is alarming that every picture from SATC 2 has been posted all over the Internet and in every paper yet the most exciting thing about PoP so far has been the Lego ostriches.

The guy is an actor friend of Maggie and Peter. He was in a short movie with them and they've appearantly known him for years. If I remember correctly, he was one of the first people that Maggie told about being pregnant. I'm not sure if he's a dad or of it was the child of another friend in the picture.

You know, I've read a lot of things others have written about Austin and pretty much everything he has written about himself. There aren't many deatils about his private life. Mostly it's the he's sweet, attractive and a fun guy to hang around with (this from both men and women). Not much about the girl front. And Austin's own posts were partly written through he character. I'm interested in knowing what points to him being specifically straight because I'm not sure.

Some people who did some internet digging at the time of the incident in Michigan said that the woman was a relative of Austin's, which would make sense since he was visiting family at the time.

Destiny, there is an actual photo of them, a twic/pic from Sunday(from behind) Morning and there were too many tweets that weekend for them to be fake, she was there. There were no pics of Peter and Maggie from the weekend or any mention that they went to that particular restauraunt with Jake either, apparently they didn't hang all together all the time.
I assume they had tickets for this particular match on Monday , Reese was on set Monday. Maggie wasn't at the match either.

All these arguments are exactly the same as 4 years ago.
The only difference is that back then Jakes "friends" were the ones revealing "personal information" and certain posters thought Austin might be gay, but not Jake, no way.
And anyway, they always got the impression that Jake doesn't care about Austin and Austin doesn't care about Jake one way or another.
It's also the same thing as back then, no way no how can the person they like more of the two be gay. The other, definite possibility which also serves as a copout to explain the chemistry: It's just the one of the two that they like less that has a crush on the other.
Back then the Jake fans were posting it, now the Austin fans are doing it.
