Interesting, reflective post, Special. Gosh, remember those 2009 GG's? Jake looking so unconfident and unlike himself? He looked dapper as usual but there was definitely something so different about him there.
I bet we see a different looking Jake this year.
I think his family (and no, I'm not talking about MPR) has given Jake a new confidence. I think there's a new side to Jake that only a few are privy to now and people like Anne allude to it. They've seen it. It's too bad that 99% of the rest of the interested public don't get to see this new man. It could explain so much on his and Austin's behalf.

Swifty may have been worse for jake's reputation than Reese, but it certainly has been more entertaining to watch.
PG, Destiny the whole thing lasted around 2 1/2 days. Even if I didn't follow Jake for these years I would be thinking something is up. How could you not think that.

I think the big elephant in the room right now is where is Jake?
Everyone knows he must be in L.A. GG's are on Sunday. Either way, it's a glaring absence.
No lunches? No gym? No Pilates/yoga? No bicycling with a bud or himself? No breakfast? No coffee? No medical office visit? No brunch? Dinner out? No sprint to the store for new tennies?
This is way out of the norm for him. It was way out of the norm for him to stay in NYC for an entire summer, fall and through New Year's.
Jake said no more gym for him. Why? Why can't he, doesn't he not go to the gym or to Pilates anymore? What would keep him from doing that? Is he just not into physical fitness anymore? Looking at his thighs in the jogging pictures, I would say he's getting fitness in somehow. Perhaps at home now.
If that's the case, why work out at home and not at the gyms anymore? What's keeping him at home more?
Why leave the Palm Springs Dinner early? Couldn't be ill if he hardly touched his dinner.
These 180 degree changes in Jake's behavior are staring all of us right in the face.

When you are a star on the rise it's good to be seen and photographed at parties, and events.
Last few years, seems like less parties. Now Jake maybe still going to parties, but it makes you wonder if he has someone with him, (Austin) and that's the reason you don't pictures of him there or he's calling it an early night because there is something better than an after party at home.
Is Wipeout not one of the funniest TV shows ever to watch?
Given the current state of Jake's career, I don't know that staying at home all the time is a good thing. He should be out networking and being seen. Tabloid covers with beards is not going to get him anywhere.
Plenty of people with kids continue to go out to industry functions and be seen.
I sometimes wonder if he isn't going out because of a lack of confidence. Fear of people ignoring him, or not getting his photos circulated, being so down about things that he doesn't want to talk to people.
Woohoo, Bomer overload next week. He's in the current issue of In Style, and just read he's going to be a presenter at the Golden Globe. He's also on Ellen on Tuesday, and Tuesday White Collar returns.

It's difficult to go to parties and social events when you are not free to talk about what is happening in your life. You can only discuss weather and trivia for so long. Jake has so much to hide now he is only safe around his own family.
