I've Got My Eye on You

Ever notice Austin's real life resembles former co-star Ed O'Neill's projects.

Well first off there's the Dutch thing

and then

Married with Children

Whaaaaaaaa?

Well it looks like Jake is saying he is:

"I don't have a brother, thank God!" he says, "I do have a brother-in-law now, but that would be weird. Anyway, I believe that I think that we all have a great ability to move towards 'Our impulse is anger' or 'Our impulse is violence'. I think I speak for myself as a married man that there are things that come in what you want to do, what you feel like you should do, and what you should do."

This is a direct quote from Jake in an interview with TheCinemasource.com for Brothers.

And who else would Jake be married to? If he had married Reese or some else he dated there would be no reason it wasn't splashed across every magazine Ev could have gotten her hands on.

Ted has referred to both Toothy and Goose as hubby, and said they are legit, that sounds like they tied the knot.

We know there are those bands of gold.

Could they have followed their TDAT co-star Emmy's lead and gotten a sealed confidential marriage when they were able to during California's small window of opportunity in 2008?

And has Austin been giving away he own hints about "ma familia"?

Could have this twitpic on August 29 been a clue?

Little small for BT1 or BT 2

And is it connected to a cautious Jake coming out and checking his car at a very secluded friends house in the Hollywood Hills on August 28th. Why would the paps follow him there, not their usual m.o. in Jake pap pictures.

Could this now be the picture of Goose family now?

One thing for certain it's a Modern Family.

Special thanks to M&M for the amazing find of the Cinemasource. com article.

Dear Ted:
What can you tell me about the mega-hunk I've just discovered by the name of Austin Nichols? Why isn't he a superstar? He's über hot, he can act and he's genuinely funny on his Twitter. What's his story, morning glory?
—Gabby wants to know

Dear Hottie Alert:
My, what devious taste you have. Austin is a total doll, and he isn't bad to look at, either—as you obviously noticed. Considering Austin's besties with Jake Gyllenhaal, clearly he's got a little sneak to him. Then again, those two haven't been Laker buddies or biking pals in a while. Maybe they've both more been concentrating on what it takes to be a real-deal moneyed superstar? Jake's generous with his tips, after all.

CONGRATS, Owlgirl!!! Way to go!!! It is exciting to get one published, isn't it? cool!

And congratulations to M&M on her Cinemasource.com find. This quote is in a word....

HUGE!!!!

And congrats to both Special & M&M on all of their hard work & digging in their own discovery on BT3. I know I am bustin' with pride over both of them.

And the boys are making their way towards With Six You Get Eggroll, yes indeed.

Attaboys to both Jake & Austin on this historic day.

So many things become explained with a 3rd baby. I won't steal the 2 notable researcher's thunder, but one thing that makes all the sense now is that this is why Ted was so po'd over Reese dumping Jake.

Reese left Jake in the lurch when she bailed on him in December. She was supposed to still be bearding through the birth of BT3. That's what was behind Ted's outrage.

destiny said...

Congratulations Owlgirl on what was indeed a well-crafted letter.

Jake really said that about being a married man? And the interviewer just let it go?

Yes, he did, Destiny. The time period is critical. This statement was made around the time the rumors were flying that Jake and Reese were "breaking up". Then, even though Jake had been very careful to have never acknowledged the nature of the relationship before, he suddenly calls her his "girlfriend" in an Australian interview. People thought it was odd at the time, particularly since the fauxmance was pretty much over. I can see Jake's people trying to win Reesey-poo back with this concession. Maybe Jake's statement about speaking "myself as a married man" was a little retaliation for having to verbally acknowledge the fauxmance.

"I've learned so much from the kids in my life, and somehow they just become the center of your life and the way you look at things," he told Grazia Australia, referring to his 3-year-old niece Ramona (daughter of Maggie Gyllenhaal) and possibly Witherspoon's children, Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6. "Obviously I exist in my girlfriend's world and my sister's world in a different way, but it's opened my heart and I feel much more grown up and want to be grown up as a result of it."

Methodical Muser said...

Then, from the same critical time period (the early part of December 2009) comes this Blind Item from Ted: Straight Dude Buds Stand Up Tall for Toothy Tile

...And no, these dudes who actually do know Toothy rather well are not defending Mr. Tile's very publicized fauxmance and whether or not it's legitimate, hardly. Nope, instead, they're busy saying, as of late, that Toothy and his man are doin' just fine, thank you, and further more, "They're the real thing." These het amigos like to tell this to anybody who starts talking crap about their good friend.

Backstabbing gossip gets these hetero friends of Toothy's so very riled up, they've lately been stating how "in love" Mr. and Mr. Toothy Tile happen to be right now. So there!

Wow. With friends like that, who needs gossip columns? But ain't it nice to now how truly true-blue Toothy is?

I knew it all along, didn't you?

I mean, come on, I would never have given a hateful scum-schmuck such press. Toothy's cool. Just currently a bit lost.

Special K said...

"myself as a married man"

It's not just that Jake said it, it's that it got out there and nobody one picked up on it. All the Jake sites out there, I haven't seen anyone say anything about it.

It's not like the reporter wrote it, it was a direct quote. And no reporter would make up such a direct quote, especially one like that because he knows he would found out.

Methodical Muser said...

It's not just that Jake said it, it's that it got out there and nobody one picked up on it....

That's correct. Jake slid one past his public image media minders. A direct quote. Not a paraphrase or third person interpretation. Jake's own words: "Myself as a married man."

Mmmmmmmmmmmm said...

But SK/MM, it was picked up on. This interview was posted on WDW and I think GB. Way back then in 2009 when he was promoting Brothers. Posters picked up on it and concluded that it was his usual babble coming off his GF quotes and the interviewer just let it go.

I'm just curious on why it took you so long? I know SK reads WDW so she must have seen it.

The only diff is that reasonable people took it as babble and an interviewer being lazy, i think it was done at conf with sheridan.

You either just stumbled on it or had seen it and decided to pretend to believe that he is "married" because you are again pissed off at let's see....

And no I won't link to the WDW post, find the discussion yourself.

Special K said...

How it can babbling from the quote he made is beyond me. If anything it was one of the few times Jake has made a definitive statement.

Sorry I didn't see the discussion on WDW. I check over at WDW here and there for what Kate is doing but not always look at all the comments.

I love the trolls on this site. When all else fails, just say, "Everyone already knows. It's old news."

Well, I'm sorry but this is not old news. I read a lot about Jake on a variety of sites and I have never come across this quote before, nor any discussion about Jake admitting he was a married man.

Mmmmmmmmm said...

I remember rading the article on WDW back in Dec. 2009 and people commenting on the quote. It was dismissed as babble. If it was a gaff, or an actual clear comment from him, it would have never been posted on the blog w/o it being deleted, or if discovered aftwr the fact deleted.

The fact that PR lurks on Jake blogs like WDW, GB, IHJ and here, they had to have come across the discussion when it was discussed back then.

Jake babbles and at times can't seem to put two sentences together. At the time of the interview, he was still blind-sided by the Reese dump IMO. This may have been before it was revealed that they had really broke up, where they were still issuing denials. Being married=still dating in his mind, who knows.

I do know that whrn he was doing Promotion for Rendition in 2007, he said on Ellen and I think the JR show that Maggie and Peter were married and he wasn't kidding when he said it. We all know that Maggie and Peter weren't married until may 2009.

People thought that maggie and Peter were secretly married and he spilled the beans, which wasn' t the case.

Anyway that's my opinion.

So it's not a discovery, Jake's fandom (some) were well aware of the interview as does his PR.

Check the WDW archives from 12/09 not buying it troll. She posted the interview and that quote was discussed in the comments. WDW is clearly one Jake site you don't read so of course its new to you.

It was also posted on a few other Jake sites.

Special K said...

If PR monitors all those place and saw discussions about it, and they are so hellbent on their mission, they would have that interview pulled.

Kind of how all the JIG stuff on Perez disappeared. And that one post on the old Just Jared got changed, where he called Jake Toothy. But then someone went back into the old site and poof it is all changed. No more mention of Toothy and Jake from Jared anymore.

I never go to WDW so I totally missed it.

This interview is a totally serious one. It's also very clear.

"As a married man".

There's no way around that one.

I also find it impossible to read all the articles that come out when Jake does movie promo, so no, I never saw this article.

I don't go to Gyllenbabble either. I bet I've lurked on there about 5 or 6 times tops. Never commented on GB, WDW, IHJ, Just Jared or any other blog other than OMG & WFT2.

I take that back; I commented one time on JustJared way back during Reeke. But it was such a registering hassle that I never did it again.

That's it. OMG & WFT2. The only two sites I've ever commented on re: Jake and/or Austin.

Here is the post from WDW that was posted in 12/09. The interview was from the press screening for Brothers that Variety held, Tobey was thre also. This is the entire transcript and i'm sure it's still posted on the Variety site in tact just like it has remainf intact on cinemascene.com. There is discussion in the comments section about Jake and Gyllenspeak.

PR lurks, nothing they can do really about WDW but they could with cinemascene.

The interview is long and serious but he does babble at times, was it fatigue? Anyway, PR couldn't have been concerend or it would not still be around, his rep had to be there at the Variety screning.

This is funny though.

This same argument of "same old news" was brought up when Austin was discovered in the Leadville picture.

Exact same argument. That the picture had "been around forever" and why were we just now "discovering" it?

lol, that's kind of funny. And probably not a coincidence. Nor probably coming from a different person.

Oh! And looks like we've got proof that MMmmmmmm hijacked Blue Velvet's username.

prairiegirl said...

Cool - thanks for that link, person.

Found it very interesting to see others puzzled as well by Jake's quote because it does read very clear. They don't get it either but instead blame "Gyllenspeak" for Jake clearly stating "I think I speak for myself as a married man".

It doesn't get any clearer than that.

Mmmmmmmmmm said...

Check out the link @6:11, yeah it's been aound and talked about back in 12/09, along with some other sites. The whole transcript from the news conf. that was held after the Variety screening where that blog originally got the interview. Jake's rep was there and yet it wasn't censored in the transcript and it remains online intact, PT must know about it.

And yeah that Leadsville pic was posted from day one on many Jake blogs, and yet it took you how long to decide it was Austin? How many weeks did you stare at it to make it Austin, LOL!!!

Don't you think PR would have become concerned and ask the photographer to pull the pics from the blogs? Afterall I don't think those blogs , including this blog got permissin to post his pics, PR could have pulled that card and the pic would have been gone before you "figured" it out!

Don't you think PR would have become concerned and ask the photographer to pull the pics from the blogs?

Nope, because the person who took the photo and posted it wasn't a professional photographer or Hollywood insider. This particular "find" was posted by a private blogger who thought he was just capturing a picture of Jake. If PR contacted Mr. Fuller it would just raise suspicion so they left it alone. The fact it took six weeks to notice that Austin was standing beside Mr. Gyllenhaal doesn't make the fact any less valid.

Person at 18:26, namely Jack, you're such a memory stick on 2 legs, I'm surprised you would say this.

Instead you choose to ignore how I explained on that day how Austin was discovered in that picture.

Selective memory, much?

Weak, Jack. That's weak.

prairiegirl said...

prairiegirl said...

Just because there could be someone here who was not around on the day that Austin was discovered in the Leadville picture, here's the exact reason I gave on that day:

I was looking at that picture because I was looking at pictures of Jake's shoes. And I was looking at pictures of Jake's shoes because I had been looking at a Twitpic that Austin had put up, the one of the two feet in the latrine.

I had to go digging for that Leadville picture because the shoes looked familiar. I zoomed the picture out big as life to look at Jake's shoes, and when I slowly scrolled upwards, it was then that I saw Austin plain as day staring right at me.

We all had looked at that picture but never realized that was Austin.

There now I am not telling that story again. Let this be for public record.

Thanks Jack! said...

Now we got confirmation the interview is legit. Great detective work!

Methodical Muser said...

By the way, why did WDW alter the text of the 2009 interview? Jake did not say: I think I speak for myself [that] as a married man that there are things that come in what you want to do, what you feel like you should do, and what you should do.

Jake actually said very clearly: I think I speak for myself as a married man...."

There was no extra "that" in his sentence. Now, we know how Gyllenbabble is born and the myth sustained. When people want to obsuscate and muddle, you either rearrange or throw in an extra word to help prove your point that Jake is just blathering again.

Congrats also to Modern Family for their big win at the SAG awards, a much deserved win I believe, for a dynamic cast.

Carrie B said...

Clear as a bell, sorry I missed it! Thanks M&M, whoops I mean WDW!!

I better run along get it deleted from the Variety archives where it has been since 12/09 and then posted and discussed on the other nasty Jake sites!!

BTW, the transcript was sent to uncle teddy, I wonder what his spin will be???

prairiegirl said...

Clear as Windex.

These 2 guys have known each other since May 2002, said to have met at the auditions for TDAT. A poster from the old WFT days said it was love at first sight.

They had their big Laker photos just before Jake went into the closet. And from that point on, it sounds like they began planning their family.

BT1 born just around the time of the big Rome coming out. BT2 born early January 2009, right around Lakers Kiss Cam. BT3 born somewhere in between Aug 23-27 right after Leadville. That was why Austin was with Jake because they were about to have another baby.

All of their kids' births were surrounded by big distractions.

BT1 by Rome. BT2 by Lakers Kiss Cam. Not only that but in the week prior to BT2's birth, Mrs. Gyllenhaal did the famous photo op with Jake & Reese at the Farmers Market.

Remember how shocked & upset we were when we saw Mrs. G at that photo op because that was the first time she appeared with Reese. Well, she was really there because the baby was coming. That's why Mrs. G was in L.A. And what better way to distract than to do a photo op with both Jake & Reese.

prairiegirl said...

And as M&M can chronologically back up from use of printed media and pictures from IHJ, the family seems to congregate just before the births of their kids.

12/31/08 said...

Remember how shocked & upset we were when we saw Mrs. G at that photo op because that was the first time she appeared with Reese.

Was it, PrairieGirl? The very first time Mrs. G. appeared in the same photo as Jake and Reese? You sure about that?

Special K said...

Jake is a very traditional guy, but likes to stand it on it's head a bit. Falling in love for him would no doubt lead marriage and kids. He just went about having both in less than traditional ways. Both guys come from strong family relationships, no doubt that having a family together was important.

Think Jake is very proud of being a married man. And he got a chance to say that he was. Just as Austin when he flashed his gold band. Still don't think Austin was wearing a band as a prop in that video of him doing prep for directing.

Speaking of directing. It's great to see Austin's name on the slate. What a proud moment. You know Jake is very proud of his hubs.

prairiegirl said...

Oops, I missed that one. There was Maggie's wedding in early May of 2009. She was there for Maggie's wedding but some of us believe Austin was there at her wedding as well.

All right, back to my original comment.

I mean, look at Jake in this cabin picture. That whole set of pics was a total mystery. Who can deny that Jake looks like he slept in those clothes? Look at them. And why is he hiding out in this cabin?

Why does he go out to that vehicle and then leave it without getting anything out of it? That makes no sense.

I think this is the picture of a guy who hasn't been able to be home and get a shower or have much sleep. There's something going on here that no one has ever been able to explain.

And Jake disappeared after this and was not seen again until the end of September when he appeared at the Foodie event in NYC.

Methodical Muser said...

You are hilarious, PG. And pretty close to 100% accurate, except you second guessed yourself about old Mrs. G and Maggie and Peter's wedding on May 2, 2009. Your initial instincts were correct about the 12-31-08 Farmers' Market, which was right before BT2 was born in the first week of January 2009.

Now, a few more clues. People have criticized Ted for answering the question about Baby Tile being human more than once. Thinking he doesn't keep good archives. Well, Ted knows exactly what he's doing. Because he has actually confirmed that Baby Tile is human on 3 separate occasions.

Note that the dates of the confirmations are after each baby has been born:

September 4, 2008 (Baby Tile #1 is human)

Dear Ted:
Is Baby Tile human or animal?
—C.L. in Pa.

Dear Little of Both:
As human as something can be in this town.

February 25, 2010 (Baby Tile #2 is human)

Dear Ted:
Is Baby Tile human, feline, canine or equine?
—J

Dear Smarty Pants:
Come to think of it, I didn't say kitty, puppy or pony—did I?"

September 23, 2010 (Baby Tile #3 is human)

Dear Ted:
Is Baby Tile a human baby, or could it be a pet that the Tiles' adopted and share?
—CF

Dear Baby Onboard:
How disappointing would that be! Nope, while T2 loves his four-legged friend, Baby Tile is as human as they come.

Special K said...

Counting backwards you can see that time of conception of BT3 would have sometime in Dec 2009.

Ted said many times that Jake was throw by Reese's move of breaking up and that he expected them together longer. And remember Ted's outrage with Reese. It could have been that Reese was supposed to stay a part of this so that they could have BT3. Remember in surrogacy there is months of planning before getting pregnant. She would have known what they wanted to do, that they were already in the process and she bailed.

Now the thing with Taylor. Have said it before, when you need to hide something big - you go big. Swift is one of the biggest things at the moment. So on paper it looked good, but in actuality disaster. A lot of people might think it was for Jake's movie, but it looks like it was for more personal reasons.

Another thing to think about is Austin. If you remember in the beginning OTH was only to a half season (11-12 episodes) which he would have finished filming by early fall. Which again falls into place with him being able to be with the family while Jake was going to be promoting LaOD. Of course now there is a bit of a juggling around.

One more thing, it was interesting - that Austin and Sophia were supposed to be at an award show in LA the weekend of August 15th but that never happened. And then Austin's parents show up in NC. Was something supposed to happen that weekend, that got delayed a few days - like a delivery date?

Destiny, I did catch White Collar and Bomer in the wife beater when they replayed it this weekend. He looked great. I especially like his hair. That dark color and the waves. He gets better looking all the time, just like Austin.

Good detective work today. No stone goes unturned. It may take a while, but the loose ends always get connected.

On another note, I see that Nicole Kidman and James Franco have signed on to do Sweet Bird of Youth this fall. No details or dates yet, but it could be an excuse for a reunion of some or all of the New Yorker group. I'll email to see if there is any interest once I locate some hard dates.

I also saw a preview of the Vanity Fair cover which includes Jake. I subscribe, courtesy of my sister, so will be getting that one. Not sure if it is the March or April issue.

Well, the snow has started. It just looks all grey and frigid outside. What I have always loved about incoming storms like this (if there is at all anything good about them but you have to see something good in something bad) is that it brings people to talking together. I watch my neighbors leaving for work, Mr. SUV guy who walked down the icy sidewalk and then cut across the icy grass like he was walking on sand!, he was out there scraping his windows and my new neighbor upstairs with the cutest new puppy she got back from the store, putting this big piece of plastic over her windshield. My sister leaving, all bundled up from head to toe, and I can hear them all out there laughing and talking.

You know they're all talking about hunkering down and "well, here it comes! Here we go again!" kind of stuff.

And that's a cool thing. Because sometimes there have been some neighbors who don't even say hi to you or even look up when they pass you on the sidewalk so you can't even initiate things with a simple hi.

There've been a lot of times I've been in the parking lot at work scraping my windshield, brushing off snow after hours and everyone else is getting off work to do the same thing. And you shout & laugh back & forth. It's fun. You're all in the same boat and it somehow makes you feel a little better to share misery together. lol.

Anyway, wondered if anyone else has ever shared that kind of camaraderie with people, just total strangers? Destiny & Special, I bet you've gotten onto trains and talked to strangers in the midst of a really bad storm. There's something about a calamity (be it small or large) that brings people kind of together.

Living in New England prepares you for winters like this. Yup always bread, milk, peanut butter and jelly.

And yes people bond over the weather from the drudgery of shoveling, or trying to commute with mounds of snow, or just sick and tired of wearing boots forevah! What is so funny as you see these very well turned out ladies dressed up and in furs out and about and you look down at their feet and they have big Land's End/LL Bean/Sorrell boots on. No fashion statement it's all about function. Wear the boots, carry the shoes.

Sign of a real New Englander. We keep the snow shovel right by door. INSIDE the house.

We have no snow, but it is a rare sunny day in the Pacific Northwest, which is lovely. If I lived in the NE or midwest, I would be quite done with this winter!

That "married man" quote is completely fascinating. The way Jake talks in some interviews is completely fascinating. It's also a wee bit familiar. Did I mention I am ADHD ;) ?

Whooo boy, now I am really confused. The existence of a BT#2 was a surprise just weeks ago... now there is a BT#3?

I have one wonderful but exhausting kid and have trouble some days getting around to taking a shower. Of course, I don't have nannies. Still, I have a hard time understanding how Jake and Austin would feel inclined to bring more kids into their family when they are so seldom together? IVF and surrogacy are majorly expensive and 100% deliberate, so a lot of thought and preparation has to go into it.

I'm unconvinced on the multiples theory. It makes me tired just thinking about it! But it might explain why Jake looks rather tired much of the time.

I'm totally unconvinced on the multiples theory too.

What I'd really like to know is why everything Jake says is either a case of Gyllenbabble, mistranslation or a case of "fatigue" whenever some people don't like what he says.

He talks about his sister and mentions "her niece": he misspoke.
He refers to himself as a married man: mistranslation (huh?) or he was talking about Tobeys character in the movie (double huh?).

But what I find even more curious is how this special brand of Gyllenbabble extends to other people as well.
When Maggie mentions that Jake spent time with "his family" or when Jim Sheridan talks about Jake and "his kid" somehow they are both doing Jakes patented Gyllenbabble as well.

Speaking in Gyllenbabble must be highly contagious, yet it seems to only occur when talking about Jake and a possible family. Really curious effect, I must say.

Well, what I would like to ask is why can't it be true? Why is it so out of the realm of possibility?

People are understandably perplexed, totally convinced it is not true. I get that.

What I don't hear is a reasonable, valid reason on why it can't be true.

And how it would be "wrong" or "impossible to hide a child" does not count, sorry.

I'm not going to argue with anyone on whether or not there is 1, 2 or 3 babies; it's pointless and fruitless. I think all some of us can do is help point out all the clues given by Ted, by Austin himself and also with the help of dates & pictures of what we know are true.

I'm just going to say I've seen plenty of evidence, not all of which was said on here last night. There was a lot thrown at everyone last night.

But my gosh, you have to have an open mind.

I happen to believe without a doubt there're 3. Jake and Austin are married. And I don't think Jake is miserable, nor is he sick or ill, and I think while he made misjudgments & bad decisions on how to go about the bearding, I don't doubt he did it so that he & Austin could try and have what so many others only wish they could have: a soul mate with true love and a family.

2 and 3 kids is proof that one wasn't a flash in the pan "experiment" and that what he & Austin have is the real deal. They have surpassed so many of their peers already in terms of longevity and all I do is wish them all the best. They have already beaten so many odds.

It is an incredible story. No one has to believe it or "buy" it. I'm certainly not going to try and "convince" anyone; I certainly don't need to. I know what I know now and it's enough for me, which about all I need to concern myself with.

Owl Girl, would you mind send some of that sunshine over here? lol

Man, it is a blizzard out there. People are coming home on their lunch hours, I guess, and they are walking all bent over because the wind is blowing and they are covered up in mufflers and everything. It must be really cold out there.

Dangit! A type-o. I hate that.

send = sending

Well, they're closing up shop where my sister works. I wonder what the streets are like out there - deserted? Or a big mess?

Great time right now to make snow ice cream before all the little doggies get let outside after their owners get home. LOL!!
