Another Serving

Yesterday, without publicists, announcements, press releases, or fanfare, Jake made some news and helped make a difference.

After seeing this video for Generation Food,  Jake sent them a letter to share.

Dear Friend,

We have a lot of concerns about climate change, hunger and Big Food, it’s easy to get discouraged. That’s why I was so inspired when I saw the trailer for Steve James’ and Raj Patel’s Generation Food Project.

The great ideas that they’re pulling together from around the world are a light in dark times. It’s their last day of crowdsourcing – why not chip in $5 and help them meet their goal?

I love that they’re finding amazing stories from around the world that speak to each other. Generation Food is more than just a film or a book, it is a community of people who want to make lasting change, here and abroad, now and for generations to come. Please join me in supporting
them today.

And in doing so Jake helped them exceed their goal of $50,000 to over $60,000 yesterday.
Generation Food is about seeding "thousands of projects to feed the world!"  They are creating a new book and documentary, with Steve James and Raj Patel,"telling stories from around the world, about how to fix our broken food system."
"We want to build a community of ideas to feed the world sustainably and with justice in the twenty first century. We know, it feels overwhelming. How will we grow enough to feed the 9 billion people expected by 2050? What will we grow, and where will we grow it? With the sweat of whose brow? Using what kinds of science and technology? How will we make it resilient to climate change? And how will we make sure that everyone at the table gets to eat a fair share?"

Just like with New Eyes, and other causes important to him , Jake is not about using a cause to increase his celebrity, but using his celebrity to help a cause.

Love the glasses. Didn't like it when they were used as an attention getter in the Yom Kippur pictures but oh well. Whatever.

I've seen enough pictures now of Jake as a wee little tyke with his glasses on and he was certainly very squeezable looking, lol. Very, very sweet and I'm sure his mother found it nearly impossible to say no to much of anything. At least I would have had trouble.

Very nice thing he did to help out Generation Food. Never would have known if they hadn't tweeted about it.

That's the classy way to go about contributing to causes/organizations.

And now tomorrow night is the screening and I hope we get to see Jerry Seinfeld.

Overture, curtains, lights.
This is it, you'll hit the heights
And oh what heights we'll hit
On with the show, this is it!!

LOLLLL - remember when Jerry & Elaine were standing outside of the opera waiting for Kramer to show up and Jerry started singing that sing complete with the little dance. It kills me every time. Sooooooo funny.

Wonderful profile of Rufus Wainwright on CBS Sunday morning. Those on the West Coast hope you get a chance to catch it.

He spoke of losing his mother, his music, his father, his daughter, and his wedding (that is happening this week).

Jake's going to be out in The Hamptons for tonight's screening of EoW. Wonder if he will see Rufus who has a place in Montauk?

Maybe Rufus will be at the screening. That would be nice.

The estate has been called Goose Creek longer than Austin has been known as Grey Goose.

Oh, did you think this was a shout out to OMG? My bad.

Go back where you came from. You sure were patient waiting for that to be posted.

Please it isn't a shout out to OMG. But it is interesting how the whole universe pulls things together. All things connect.

Troll has nothing right now except rude, churlish remarks. There certainly is no company to talk to next door so they come to OMG out of sheer loneliness.

Sad, sad, sad.
