Rule Breaker

Jake recently sat down for an interview for No. 7 Hollywood Issue of Man of the World magazine.

In the interview he talks about balancing the personal and professional life.

"It's taken me a long time in my career to realize that you can't be good at everything. You sometimes have to give something up. There are limits."

Is that one reason his work scheduled isn't as busy as it seems? Could it be that there is something more important that Jake wants to make sure he's being his best?

Again he talks about the movie business and personal life.

"The movie business is largely just stuffing actors in this place, and this place and this place."But it's time in your life that you can't have back."

Kind of sounds like he doesn't want to miss those special moments. Sounds like what happens not making movies is way more important. Not what  most single unattached 30 something men would say. Most would be focused on work. Oops sorry he's not unattached - cause you there's models not to be seen with. Wait - uhh yeah funny he's worked more day since being "attached" but when on a break Jake was no where to be seen.  Hmmm...funny that.

"I do care about the stories people want to tell. But then I want to get back to my honest self for the directors I work with."

In the pictures for the issue, Jake is shown with showing off what's on his chain. And usually you don't wear your own ring on your own chain. Especially when it's bigger than any of your fingers.  Is that part of getting back to his honest self?

Jake goes on to speak about many of the roles he's played.

"Many of the movies I've loved the most have had similar processes about rules being broken and bent. "I love that."

Will he be a rule breaker off screen now?

Oh he's breaking some "rules" alright, I think, lol. Maybe not the kind we're hoping for though.

I think Jake gets a thrill for getting away with behaviors, maybe almost a fetish-like thrill. Back in the day, it sounds like it was sex in public places, now I think he gets off on pulling big ones over the public's eyes. Maybe sometimes when you can't do what you used to, or no one will play along or you kind of outgrow a certain behavior or that particular behavior no longer quite does it for you anymore, you may look for another outlet to get that same rush.
Or, or, or!! lol. Or the opportunity presents itself quite opportunistically.

I would not be surprised at all if this were the case with Jake.

This was a nice magazine spread and interview. It was good to hear the things he had to say and I do believe Jake is doing everything he can to spend as much time as he can with his and Austin's kids. I love that about him.

He does let through clues now and then in his interviews and if only we could hear him speak about his love for Austin and their kids in real time instead of some old dusty and dirty biography 15 years from now when the kids are all grown up.

It breaks my heart.

I agree PG.

Sadly I think the only rule breaking is done on the sly. Publicly he's still playing the HW game, just a different version from the one he was playing in the Reeke days.

Normally I just ignore the trolls, it's the best way to deal with them. But just this once I've got to say you're the one who needs help What or whatever other name you're using Jack.

Here's an article on a recent study about trolls and how they are basically psychopathic, sadistic narcissists, and that indeed the best way to deal with them is to ignore them.

I didn't have to see it to know what he put up. The usual garbo with lots of capping and whatnot. blah, blah, blah, blah.

I met a guy from Germany today who is visiting. What a gorgeous accent and he had on the most splendid, form fitting, immaculate coat. I'd not seen any cut quite like it. First time in the States. And he had a couple of men from Belgium with him and it was just thrilling to hear his beautiful accent. You always hope to make a good impression and that they leave our country with a pleasant experience.

Always so exciting and fascinating to meet people from other countries. I'm sure Kansas must be pretty boring but we're friendly people here in the Midwest.

I can always spot the tourists from Europe by the way they dress, especially the men, who aren't afraid to try different things. The clothes are more interesting than the stuff you see her in the U.S.

I still can't get over how good Prisoners was. It really has something to say about the vulnerable in our society. My friends and I thought Jake was the centerpiece of the entire film. There were no good guys in this film, with the exception of Det. Loki. I'd love to see another film about this detective.
