Weird, I totally felt that again! Literally a minute ago. Better look at them I suppose. There'll be some for her birthday too.
I'll probably vote for Good Girl because it was the film I noticed Jake in, but there are other serious contenders in the list.
They're very weird pics! Jake looks like he's arresting Reese. She looks twelve and is wearing her uniform. Jake is wearing a hideous shirt and seems to be growing the beard back (Nooooo!)
There are smiles, weird expressions and pda of a sort, but they still don't look like a real couple to me.
Well, what can I do. Jake somehow managed to date/"date" two actresses from my list of People I Can't Stand. Oh, OK...

Interesting political discussion in the last thread. My only concern is that the Dems nominate whoever can beat McCain. I'm worried that too many people hate Hillary for her to beat him. Personally, I will work for whoever the Dems nominate.
When I did this poll, I realized there's only one Jake film I haven't seen- Highway.
I've seen all of Jake's movies a few times over except Rendition which I saw once in the theatre. I own all the rest. Hands down, it's Donnie Darko for me. An amazing, timeless movie (and I'm a purist, the original is the best) that Jake was a perfect fit for. I think there's a lot of the real person in that role. The whole thing is quite pure and haunting. My second choice isn't here but hey, it worked out. ;)

Brokeback Mountain is far and away my very favorite Jake movie, and all of them I think he's wonderful in. What I tried to do is think of the ones where his performance really affected me the most deeply (Brokeback Mountain again!) but aside from that film, Moonlight Mile was the one. But that was before I saw October Sky, and in that one his talent just jumped out at me, especially where he was so young. I loved how he worked with Chris Cooper too, who I also adore in everything he does. Jake has something special, for sure. I haven't seen Highway and Lovely & Amazing yet, any only part of Bubble Boy, which I thought was adorable.
I enjoy all of Jake's films. I won't see a film just because a certain actor or actors are in it, they have to have an impressive body of work for me to do that, unless it's DDL or someone like that, and now Jake. I'll usually see a film because I find some aspect of the story intriguing, or it's about a person I've admired or found intriguing. And I never read film reviews until after I've seen a film so I won't be influenced.
Sorry for such a long-winded post, but you asked! ;) I enjoy movies tremendously, I'm so thankful they were invented!

Remember the Blogger who saw Reeke at that restaurant? She said Jake's arm was around Reese's neck. Seeing these pics I now understand what she meant.
Maybe subconsciously Jake wants to put Reese in a headlock. Or maybe he feels like he's in a headlock.

Good point, Giusi. Remember how long they lasted without pap pics? Not long. There was also a plan not to publish pics where Jake looks distressed in any way. That also went out the window. I think the main issue was that the community complained vigorously when they said there would be no more pap pics. They had to bring them back. But you do have to wonder about the timing of the decision not to publish them.
Giusi, I think people make up reasons to not have to see or see what they want to. What is a "sweet" picture when it's Jake and Reese is a horrible invasion of privacy when it's Jake and Austin. Basically they want more Reese pics and less Austin pics and make up arguments to make that happen. Lucky for them they live in a hetero dominant society so they will get their way 99% of the time (and whine endlessly the other 1%).
I read a comment once from someone who liked Jake and Reese apart but couldn't stand them together. That's basically my feelings, except my feelings for Reese on her own are neutral.
The Reeke pics: Who the hell walks around like that? Awful, like a frickin headlock. And Reese the way she's holding Jake's hand, could it be any more awkward? Shit. I would HATE having someone's damn arm on my neck and shoulder like that. Makes me wanna go to a Chiropractor right now.
IF the romance is real then its like a little boy hanging on to his momma and a big momma bossing around and taking advantage of a vulnerabvle being. That 'pda' just looks sick to me.
btw J/R doing the daylight photo op doesn't mean they were together Fri night like the Jeesers would like to believe. Funny how all the happy smiling pics are done during the day, huh? Remember the pics and vid taken outside a restaurant at night when J/R didn't know they were being taken? Not looking happy at all. Reese looked like she was a laugh a minute, not. She looked like a real downer. But when they get photographed during the day and they know its happening, wow they turn into Happy Couple.
I'm not a troll but I'm really beginning to hate Jake, not caring what the fuck he does with his life. St8t, gay or bi, closeted or out, whatever - I thought he'd be different. But he's not, all he is is a big disappointment, in the theater and out.
My husband and I are about the same height difference as Jake and Reese. He puts his arm around my neck every so often like that when we walk and I can tell you it is not comfortable. I let it go a few moments, then push him off.
Not sure about these latest pics. The most couply looking so far, but we were warned that pics were coming. Saw them first on ONTD and the remarks are still primarily he's gay, hate her. That shirt is the most awful thing I have ever seen him wear.
Tough choice on the movie selection. I went with Moonlight Mile which I think is very underrated. He was very touching in that. Each movie has it's own charms and showcases Jake in a different way. None tops Brokeback though.
I voted for DD because it is my favorite of the bunch on an emotional level. It was the first time I really noticed Jake too. But I almost voted for Zodiac, I think that next to BBM it is the best film he has done, and in some ways maybe even a better film than BBM. But you asked for our favorite, not what we think is the best, so I went with DD. I love the way it looks, the music, the mystery of it, the fact that every time I watch it I pick up something new.
I see Reeke is right on schedule--it has been two weeks, and they had to followup on that sighting that was just too much like the old ambiguous days. And that chokehold--just the most romantic thing I've ever seen in my life. Sigh. And it is so sexy to see a man who's had all of the hotness sucked out of him. Double sigh.

Yea Jake is so not attractive in these pics. His face is breaking out, his lips (one of his best features) look wierd, his thighs are getting pretty hefty and not in a good way and whatever happened to the Tongue? it disappeared. Is he so sexually satisfied with Reese (blech even the thot of it) that he lost all outward sex appeal? He's really losing it.
Look at pics from Cannes, not even a year ago and tell me if this is the same Jake. he was beautiful in Cannes. Look at the pics of him with reese. its a damn shame. Not even a year. what the fuck has happened to him??

Just viewed the pics on IHJ where I could see them blown up. No rings on any fingers. Their legs are out of step with each other. Right and left vs right right. He is usually in sync with people he is with. I think Jake's face looks OK, not great, but OK. It looks like he is letting his hair get long again. But these photos are truly awful of Reese. It's like they caught every wrong angle possible - mouth open or awry, chin extended. Not that I'm complaining. I have never liked her and this Reeke mess isn't helping. I wonder if there will be video. Did they arrive and leave together or in separate cars like usual.

That's a really interesting question. I always thought Jake's thing with the tongue was kind of like Michael Jordan's thing with his tongue- totally unconscious and done he was focused on things outside himself. And now we don't see it at all.

Jarhead -- how can you not consider it for his "body" of work.
October Sky was my first notice of Jake and he brought an incredible performance for the first starring role.
Moonlight was the first buzz of Oscars and just to hold your own against powerhouses like Hoffman and Saradon would have been enough, but he again showed even more than that.
Good Girl and Lovely & Amazing again great performance, and what was making him the indie boy.
Proof. He and Gwyneth were not the best match. But I do think he did tap some of his inner geekness for Hal. It was great to see his musical abilities.
Zodiac is showing the shift in Jake's focus. Moving more toward mature roles. I think his great performance is overlooked to some of his other roles. But I think people will look in hindsight to appreciate his performance even more.
Rendition was moving forward with his transition to more mature roles, and come on how can you not like the opening shot.
I do have to give a some love for Bubbleboy. Jake is all his sweet goofiness.
But going back to Darko. Looking even at the brief clips of it again today. It is perfection of the right actor and right role at the right time. I hope that anyone who calls themselves a Jake fan has seen this movie. If you haven't get out there and see it.
To clarify my above comments - I was neutral on Reese prior to Heath's death now I can't stand her. The photo ops 4 days after Heath's death, non-attendance at Heath's memorial, and reports of them out and about having a great time were enough to judge her character. I also don't think this is how Jake would have acted prior to his association with her. Jake is basically a stepford husband now with no detectable personality of his own. Sad to say the least.
I chose the Good Girl because I liked Jake's quirky character. If I could choose more than one I'd also add Bubble boy (for Jake's comedic appeal not the movie). Zodiac for the film quality...actually all Jake's films are appealing in their own way. He has good taste in film, too bad that wasn't reflected in his choice of "girlfriend".
I voted for Zodiac. It's the best film he's been in since BBM, hands down.
It was close Wicked, I wish I could have voted for both. If you'd run this poll on another day I might have gone with Zodiac. I think DD won out today because I was feeling nostalgic for Jake's indie boy days.
Jarhead and even BBM to a certain degree are movies that when I watch them over again I make liberal use of the fast forward button. I don't do that with DD or Zodiac.
The tongue. There are so many possibilities. It could be missing because everything about him seems to be forced anymore, and now that he is so self-conscious all of his body language has changed, not just the tongue. Or it could be part of the butching it up campaign; he may've been told to lose the tongue because it's a bit too suggestive and could be seen as a bit gay.
Michael Jordan was asked about his tongue thing. After all, there are about a million pictures of him going to the basket with his tongue hanging out! He said he wasn't aware that he was even doing it until he saw pictures of it. He also said that he thought that if he tried to stop doing it, he wouldn't be able to play, that's how unconscious it was for him.

I voted for Zodiac; it's definitely my favorite Jake movie on the list and as Winterbird says "the best film he's been in since BBM, hands down."
If the question had been about Jake's best acting, I would have chosen Jarhead, with Donnie Darko & The Good Girl a tie in second position.
Ok, so The Reeke is out for its scheduled appearance. Who coaches these guys? At least Jake smiles - he must have been served quite a lecture about how phony his bearding looked.

I was just thinking about this. ;) There's probably some serious hangover in his switchover, lol. And why bother adjusting, this photo-op probably lasted a minute and a half, tops, kthxbai.
And wicked I also agree that these clothes are his "work uniform", conscious or not, it's hard to tell. I simply don't believe this is what he'd be wearing or even looking like if it weren't for this set-up, it just says "disguise" all over. I mean, he wore a full-on gorilla suit with mask for Halloween and some sort of Mexican wrestling get-up for a party. Sure, the occasions called for dressing up, but he was literally encased. These bulky, oversized clothes he wears while doing Reeke business give the same effect. It's very weird to be seeing that and weirder that I think it's his choice.
I was going to mention in my earlier post that the heavy arm drape looks OTT. Reeke have been told they need to show more pda, so Jake goes overboard in that live-wire kid way. "Oh yeah? Well how about THIS!" It's self-consciousness, imo. He might as well be hitting Reese over the head with a nerf bat, it'd look exactly the same.

I was the one who called the Reeke pics for this weekend. I hardly evah use my google acct cuz I like to change names as I feel but here it is for the record. I'm sure Wicked & Special K know where I'm coming from as per site meter and they can tell you that post was mine.
Here goes. I love/hate playing both sides of the fence, I love/hate the truth, I love Jake, I hate what he's doing, I hate what he's looking like these days. Physically and in online opinions.
Hate Reese, always have. Why is it the fucking ass bitches get the guys? Is that what guys want? Then after they're 'caught' via marriage or pregnancy or money they fucking complain about how miserable they are treated and when it's all over they badmouth the bitch like it's ALL HER FAULT and say they'll never trust a woman again. ok enuff of my bitch soapbox.
I knew Reeke pics were due this weekend because:
A.) Ya get them about every 2 weeks. Like clockwork.
B) Ya had to get them to show they are still together after:
1. unhappy night pics at curb/street
2. No Valentines Day pics
3. Reese a no-show at Oscar pre party
4. Jake not at Reese's Penelope premier
5. Jake blogged shopping alone at housewares store
6. Jake blogged having a happy time with friend at lunch bar.
C) Keep in mind all the comments made on this OMG blog re how Jake and Reese look in pics have been negated (or tried to be) in this recent 2/29 series:
1. Jake not smiling, doesn't look happy being with Reese.
2. A mile apart
3. No touching
4. They're not holding hands anymore
5. They look like just good friends not lovers
6. Jake has both his hands full holding his keys or phone
7. Jake is always drinking coffee with Reese (to keep him awake?)

2/29 Photo Op?? Definitely. Jake almost always wears his watch, Reese almost never wears a watch. The only time he didn't wear it during pics with her was the LA Park pics with the kids, on 12/30. The arm around the neck move was very intentional for the 2/29 pics. Notice there's no watch on Jake - it would have gotten caught in her hair, rubbed against the skin and make a mark on her neck. But tada, Reese was wearing a watch. Someone had to keep track of the time and guess who was the default.
On the other hand a positive thing is the birds he's been wearing (the 2/29 plaid shirt has embroidered birds on the lower right side). Intentional, not a mistake. He likes birds and its a good reminder.
D. The Future
1. Don't be surprised if they get engaged for Reese's birthday. A long engagement, natch.
2. Don't be surprised if Reese gets pregnant with Jake's child (in vitro, planned by both of them) and has the baby without getting married.
(a) Reese is in an independent 30's stage, believe me she is DYING to get out of her 20's goody 2 shoes image and become an enigma.
(b) Successful surrogate mothers almost always have 2 or more children of their own so they are comfortable letting someone else have the surrogate child, if you get my drift. But of course she will still be on the scene so she doesn't look like a bad mother who abandoned her child.
(c) Jake will have his perfect child with blue eyes and Hollywood genes. To be raised by him and whoever currently is in his life and of course parttime by Reese the Perfect Mother who he just couldn't make a lasting relationship with for whatever reasons (those poor ill-fated lovers, so sad, sniff) but who was so nice to let him have the child to raise since she already had 2 of her own. Awww.
3. But don't count on that Jake baby because I am 98% sure Reese had her tubes tied. I'm not sure but it's not something I can ask is it?
So there you have it. Sorry for the long post but I had to say what I know as the truth for better or worse.

I didn't like Highway very much, and I was kind of underwhelmed by Lovely and Amazing, but I should probably see that one again as I think part of it was that a good friend had really talked it up and then it didn't live up to the hype; I also saw it when I only had a passing awareness of jake.
I agree bltb with your analysis of Jake's Reeke uniform.
The funny thing about pr coming here for pointers is it is just more evidence that this is a fauxmance. A real couple would not react to what a few supposedly confused tinhats think.

Just want to clarify something about Sitemeter. We can't figure out if the person who said we would get pics is the same person as Breck. Our Sitemeter only shows our last 100 hits. The comment about getting pics was made yesterday, I think. That's way before our last 100 hits so we can't access it.
The 2/29 pics first appeared on X17 on 3/1 at 10 am.
I have seen DD, BBM, Jarhead, and Zodiac, and have seen snippets of Highway, Good Girl, and Bubble Boy. I have to say after BBM, my fave would be Zodiac where he plays a quirky but more mature character.
Interesting comments from Breck. But I see one conflicting point. First she says that reese will get pregnant and then says she is 98% sure reese has her tubes tied. Which is it?
Also Breck says the bitch always gets the guy. Does Breck really think reese has the guy. Not sure where she stands on that point.

Just came back from seeing "The Other Boleyn Girl." The audience was squealing. It's too bad the screenwriter sanitized the story (in the book, Anne does bed her brother and they have a deformed baby who is killed and her brother also engages in a gay affair with a courtier Francis Weston).
Natalie was something out of "Days of our Lives." And Scarlett might as well have walked around with a halo over her head.
Dr. Parnass on WFT is SOO funny. I'm still howling at that comment about how the last time Jake was in a woman it was the Statue of Liberty.

Tom I just said 'don't be surprised' at a pregnancy. I admit I'm not sure on that point. It scares me the most. BUT my logic tells me nada baby, cuz of that Star lawsuit. (Yes I was the one who brought it up a few weeks ago but no one wanted to discuss it. If anyone still doesn't want to discuss it then scroll.) Wanna know why? Because the suit and esp the decision for the ruling was done way after the story. And Reese won the lawsuit quickly and without any question. Now, how could she prove without a doubt she was NOT preggers AT THE TIME OF THE STORY? Birth control pills/barriers/patches can be gotten and done anytime, abortions can be performed after the fact. Only 1 thing can prove pregnancy was not possible AT THE TIME OF THE STORY - Infertility. By nature or intention. That's why I also said I'm 98% sure tubes are tied. But it still scares me that she could have a lifetime hold on Jake. Pretty sure his family feels the same way.

YEP: All but a couple of the 2/29 pics have Reese with her mouth open. Like she was breathing thru her mouth. That's why she looks so funny. Remember I said Jake has a passive aggressive mean streak?
