D23 opens this Thursday and the question is how big of a sneak peek is Disney going to give to its loyal fans who attend, and what will the be reaction. It seems that D23 will be the kick off for PoP, yes it has had a few soft previews, the teaser on ET, the interview with Bruck, stills and pics from the set, the Lego deal and the new action figures that will come out in May.
The mention is that there will be lots of Disney stars attending the events, even including speculation that Johnny Depp may attend for the the sneak peek of Alice. Will Jake attend as well as the part of the PoP launch? With Jake above the title on Disney's first try in video game adaptation it seems in all likelihood he will make an appearance at the Disney exclusive event.
Disney's recently acquisition of Marvel also launches them in to the superhero business, new territory for them, does that increase the industry expectations for PoP now?
And with past videogame movie adaptations falling short is Bruckheimer the answer to finally getting over that last hurdle?
There is a lot riding on PoP, and it much more than just Jake's resume.
So how will Bruck and Disney present to the fans. The action? or the romance?
Building it is an epic is could be a risky venture, it is like building a house on the sand, if it does not live up to the expectations of the movie goers, it could wash away quickly. What is going to be interesting is to see how they do sell it, and D23 is the first first real look at how they are going to do it. But it seems like it will be teaser just enough but not too much.
There is so much discussion if PoP will boom or bust not just here or by all over other blogs, it is doing one thing that they've wanted , it has people talking. Both Disney and Bruck are savy enough to use both the positive and negative chatter to their advantage, right up until release.
It almost seems like they are playing things close to the vest for now, and not because its not good, but more for the true blockbuster surprise.

And that picture of Hugh and his wife is soooo Reese and Jake, except Hugh doesn't look miserable the way Jake does.
And you know me the skeptic Special. My first reaction to that bit about Epstein is to make a snide remark about HW loves the gay marketing gurus and those gay dollars, as long as they're willing to sit at the back of the bus and ignore the fact Disney is keeping stars in the closet.
It'll be interesting to see how this expo goes. Not so sure they're going to win the fan boys, I've read they're not very happy about Disney buying Marvel, they're afraid Disney will do its usual watering down.

Sounds like Ted is saying that speculation is wrong about Austin and Rob, like all the speculation and comments tend to think.
Look at the who he wrote back to Buckin Stops Here. It makes is sounds like there is nothing going on with Austin and Rob.
What is interesting is that he let WFT call Austin Grey Goose, he didn't. So technically he didn't say it.
Ted does seem to be saying the speculation about Austin and Robert is wrong. And while for the casual reader he leaves it open as to what exactly has not been figured out correctly, Ted has basically directed people to WFT and not denied that Austin is GG.
I think now that Austin has been seen out with Sophia Ted has completely taken the gloves off.
The reappearance of Big Blue poignant and Ted makes me think that ending the speculation that Austin is with anyone but Jake was more important than the being known as Goose.
The timing of this is really interesting as well. With less than a week till OTH starts. I wonder what the "Sophin" fans will think of this.

Have to agree with the consensus here that Ted put the stop to the Austin/Robert chatter and yes he did indeed let the Austin is Goose remain. Pittsburgh is making a comeback, steel is gone but there is a lot of biomedical coming in with the medical and dental schools and the Univ of Pittsburgh there. Has a good art school. Pittsburgh is working class, sports loving blue collar town. But there is some very affluent areas as well,and some big money too. (Carnegie, Heinz)

Whoever posted it had a Digg link. Digg is known for very late postings of news/pics. I doubt the poster realized it was from July.

That Reeke & little Co. mention must be buried in People.com's website, I gather? Because they don't make their homepage anymore. I'm on that thing every day getting my daily dose of "what's new", lol. And there's no more Reeke on there.

I don't think it would be a big deal if they went to the Open either PG. I just don't think it is likely because the Open is a big deal, getting tickets for a weekend match is difficult, and there are tons of photographers there. They would have made sure pictures got out of them there for OTH publicity.

It is in NYC PG, and it's the biggest tennis event of the year in the United States. I don't follow tennis that much, but I know about it because you can't get away from it in NY, you get bombarded with stories, pictures of celebrities who are courtside, I hear people in the office trying to find tickets to buy, etc.

And so what did the guy do? I step outside for my walk and there's the little, tiny filter laying against the door. Whaaaaaa?! What kind of deal is that? grrr.
Man, I am telling you, it must be 98.95555% humidity out there. I had to come back and take another shower, I'm not kidding. And it's only 70 degrees! But that humidity is a killer. We have more people right now having allergy troubles, especially our new office guy. He must sneeze & get blessed 100 times a day. Poor guy. He is a trip and a real blessing for our office. He is funny and friendly and he's smart alecky and a tease. All a great combo. And he must be 6'8" or something. Man, is he tall. And he is a great computer wizard.
