“Fights, fake IDs, field parties, beer.” Is how Jason Wiles describes his semi-autobiographical movie about the last summer of a group of friends.
There were two screenings of Lenexa, 1 Mile on October 25th, a $50-a-seat fundraiser for the KC Film Commission at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 and a festival screening at 9 that night. It was expected that director Wiles and Chris Klein would be the stars that would be there for the screening, but it looked like it was Jason Ritter, and Austin, who attended with Jason.
'Lenexa 1 Mile' was shot in the KC area in 2005, the writing/directing debut of actor Jason Wiles (TV’s “Third Watch”). The movie was filmed in Kansas City, the suburban community of Johnson County, and at Kelly’s, a popular bar in the artist/entertainment district of Westport in Kansas City.
The cast also includes Jennifer Hall, Paul Wesley, Josh Stewart and William Baldwin, Michael Rooker and Michael Beach.
Check out the hair on Austin in the trailer. It looks like he has a go to Indie/80's cut, except for Lenexa he upped the ante with a little razor work on the sides. And you know that was probably his idea. That hair and those acid washed jeans, the boy looks like he is ready to head to Chess King for a pair of parachute pants .
No worries about missing Lenexa, 1 mile. It is scheduled to come out on DVD. Another DVD to add to the must have list.

OT: Sean Penn and Robin Wright are divorcing. Ted has not too subtly hinted several times recently that there were problems in that marriage and they seemed estranged.
Brendan Fraser is divorcing too.
Great to come back from my Christmas break to find not only a blond Austin, but a tantalising Austin sighting! How frustrating that we know which flight his "pals" got on - but not Austin. Let's hope it was NY, but it would be great to have a sighting of him there for some confirmation.
When was that sighting of Jake and an "equally gorgeous actor" friend in NY acting like they didn't want to be seen? 2006 sometime? I'm really beginning to think that NY is where Jake and Austin meet up to avoid the publicity.
Okay, I have to say Austin doesn't look too bad as a blonde! I was fearing the worst. I really hate the shaved sides, though.

There is no date given for the DVD release of Lenexa on Jason Wiles' website yet. We will have to keep our eyes open for it.
Definitely. I watched this once before and because it's ensemble I kept missing Austin :) But the more you watch the more he's stand-out pretty (even with bad hair) and wow, what beautiful arms!

London I watch the video all the time. I just know it was Jake telling us that he still cares. He is just off busy at work right now and a big part of his job is jeese.
That was most definitely a gay friendy video and Jake was a big part of it.

Wicked again I see all of this leading to the reason for the break up. Reese kids come first and Jake just has to let Reese go.

Now hmmmm.... 2 weeks equals 14 days and subtract that from the 25th wouldn't their celebration be around 11th, and didn't Jake spend hours shopping with Maggie at Cartier in BH on the 13th? And the picture from SF with Deacon and Ava on the December the 8th in SF?

There is no way Reese and Ryan spent anytime together at Christmas that is crazy. Yes I am sure they needed to both be in LA for Christmas so the kids could see both. If Jake and Reese have been together for as long as it is being made to appear then they would have been together for Turkey Day, Xmas or at least Jake's BDay. Lets see what happens NYs eve. I wonder what Jake will get her for Valentines day. I am sure Maggie will pick it out.

Spesh, I did the same math you did. Star says very clearly that Jake bought Reese's necklace on the 13th and Life and Style insinuates that they exchanged gifts on the SF weekend, which was before he bought the necklace. Somebody at the mags forgot to coordinate. That Star article really read as a blatant advertisement for Cartier. I hold Star accountable for that one!

Tom, I think it's very likely they did spend time together at Christmas. It's what good, divorced parents do and I think Reese and Ryan are good, divorced parents. Did they spent tons of time together? Probably not. Did they spend some time together so their kids could see them both? Probably yes. But having to do that does not have to completely preclude Reese from seeing Jake during the holidays.
I think we may need to separate Spesh and Tom! Don't make me turn this car around, guys!

Got to wondering how the LAX sightings slipped through the Cone of Silence. With the exception of ACL, there has been nothing that could put Jake and Austin in the same place and time since Borders in May. (Living in LA doesn't count here)

OK, I missed NYC twice. But, both were BEFORE Reeke went into high gear in October. Austin at LAX, Jake in NYC was after.
JJ (from JJ's dirt) still thinks Jake/Reese are a fake. He recently went on CTV to give his celebrity resolutions for 2008. Here's what he said about Reese:

There's no reason why Jake and Reese wouldn't have had time to spend together on any of these holidays or other occasions. The reason i can`t comment too much these days is because i`ve simply lost about all interest in Jake`s/Austin`s personal life. Sad i think, as i love this place and WFT. To me, you mean so much more than them, but still... they`re your main focus and i will and have to live by that rule! I`ve said what i think i needed to do about Jeese. I know it`s not much positive, but that`s what i felt and still feel.
I still feel this way...you know, it`s fake. It`s so fake i have to laugh of the tabloid-stories because they`re so funny, but it`s for entertainment only, i don`t feel sad.
Even though i don`t have much positive to say about Jake`s behaviour these days, i don`t think i have to repeat my inner thoughts, that ain`t that positive, every week. Neither do i want to lie and pretend i`m as interested as i was in his or Austins personal life as i was some months ago.
I know it`s Hollywood and they feel they have to go through this. I don`t think they had to do this to this level. I mean..., leave the kids out of this please, i have three of my own. Just one thing i dislike.
My heart has gone someplace else. Who the hell knows which kind of direction that "not totally predictable piece of body-piece", will head next? I wish i knew!!!

Been thinking about this report of Jake looking at engagement rings before finally settling on a necklace. But why would he need to ring shop at all? Wouldn't he have one already from when he proposed to Reese and she turned him down? Or didn't he try to give her a ring then?

((NG))- I find it hard to transfer the affection though I definitely see the comedic side these days and am definitely less interested in Jake. Austy keeps me rapt, because nothing he's appeared in conflicts with how he's living. Or maybe just cos I find him cute :)

On another topic, thanks to today's Guardian I've just discovered the delights of Google trends, www.google.com/trends, hours of fun for all the family.
One of the most encouraging things I find coming from the Reeke debacle (and they are few and far between) is the overall lack of interest in them. I'm pretty sure when this was all planned out they thought that Reese and Jake together were actually going to become a much hotter couple than has proved to be the case.
Since what people enter into search engines reflects the level of interest in a person / subject, comparing Reese & Jake, with say Brad and Angelina, shows how badly this whole pr exercise is going. Brad and Ang outrank Reeke by at least 10 to 1,(sadly, checking just Jake Gyllenhaal shows how the poor lad's rather lost his lustre over the past year, hopefully a Reeke free 2008 will reverse that trend).
