I feel I need to address the detective work in the last thread. I saw it just now. My personal feeling is that if Person A puts him or herself out there online posting on multiple sites and Person B is able to put the pieces together and figure out Person A's identity and expose it, there is nothing wrong with that. Person A chose to put him or herself out there. However, if enough of you feel that we should delete that post, then let us know via e-mail and we will. It must be e-mail, not posting here. It is too easy for one person to multiple post. I want to get a true sense of how many of you feel the post should be deleted. Thanks.

I don't really want to give our troll too much attention, but I do find it interesting that his real name is probably Jack. On the Gyllenbabble - WDW controversy. Shame on them. It takes time, hard work and creativity to do something everyday. There are many times that I look at WDW's, Spooky2th's or Hjulia's and go, why didn't I think of that. You respect the hard work that goes into it you don't make it look like you came up with it first.

'The NYC medical examiner has finished the toxicology report following the death of Heath Ledger, and has just ruled that the actor's death was caused by "acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine."
The NYPD found five medications in Ledger's apartment after his death, including anti-anxiety medications alprazolam (Xanax), diazepam (Valium) and Lorazepam (Ativan). The sleeping medication zopiclone (Lunesta) and the sedative temazepam (Restoril) -- which is used by people with "debilitating insomnia" -- were also found. Doxylamine is an antihistamine used in the short-term treatment of insomnia.'
Poor Heath, I can imagine a cycle of not getting any relief (sleep, rest) and then adding to what he had already taken.
For some reason I have a hard time picturing Austin dancing to disco/tech; I picture him as more of a sway to the rock music kind of guy. I could also see him in a tux doing some Fred Astaire-type moves.

About Heath: I suspect he didn't get all these medications from the same doctor, probably not even in the same state or country. The sad thing is even if there was such a thing as an electronic medical file accessible throughout the world, as an HW celeb he could have gotten hold of any drug of his choice, whether legal or not, if he wanted too. Beautiful statement made by Heath's dad re the tox report. His family all seem like wonderful people. I am hoping this allows everyone to move forward. Intersting that the E gossip story says Jake was not at any memorials. Why bloggers make up things is beyond me, but then again someone tried to pose as Heath's father. Go figure.

Obama is vapor-ware. He is not a genuine change-agent at all.
His policies are very similar to those of Hillary and Edwards. In fact, if they weren't, he wouldn't be a first-tier candidate. A real policy change-agent would be Kucinich, but where is he now? Not surpringingly, Obama wants all of the rhetorical benefits of calling himself a change-agent, without paying any of the costs.
Obama is not going to change the tone of politics. He went down to SC and kissed up to an incredibly anti-gay black minister in order to lock up more of the black vote. And when he said that 'Hillary is not good for our people', he was race-baiting, plain and simple. None of this sounds like change to me : it sounds like good old-fashioned political whoredom. More of the same.
So, what's left? If it isn't his policies or his approach to politics, why is Obama calling himself a change agent?
Two reasons : he's the anti-Hillary, and he's a respectable, black man. Now, I happen to like Hillary, and I'm going to vote for her, so the first rationale falls apart. And as for the second reason, I would be hard-pressed, even under the best of circumstances, to vote for someone just because they are a respectable black man. My Dad was a respectable black man, and he wasn't qualified to be president either. But this is hardly the best of circumstances : we're going into a recession, we're fighting two wars, we have the worst international reputation since WWII when we were forced to join because of Pearl Harbor, the deficit is going through the roof, global warming is an international crisis, the dollar is falling, the stock market is schizophrenic and I haven't even mentioned Iran yet. And you're telling me that I should put some fourth-rate neophyte, a man who has done nothing of consequence in the US Senate for four years, and never faced any significant republican opposition, into the White House just because he's a respectable black man?

Actually my main problem with KC was that I could never rely on them to improve my English vocabulary. For that purpose I had to turn to the British group Genesis' flowery lyrics - now that's what I'd called words aplenty!

Kirsten, also heavily rumored to prefer women (a particularly well-founded affair was with her director Sophia Coppola) dated Jake Gyllenhaal(heavily rumored to be gay). Now, let's not forget that Jake's personal assistant on many films has been Matthew Frost (pictured recently with Jake's rumored boyfriend, Austin Nichols), or two of Jake's rumored "girlfriends" - Samantha Ronson (almost certainly gay) and Mia Maestro (also rumored to be lesbian) - and so we go back to the beginning of this circle.

Austin and Sophia aren't together. They're longtime friends - in fact when Sophia Bush broke up with her husband, she was linked without her approval to both Jake and Austin - she made some comment like "If I have to be around guys at all, those two are the guys I want to be around."
Then later, when AUstin flirted with bearding during John from Cincinatti promotion, he made a comment about having dated Sophia Bush in the past (which she had actually lied about and denied herself).
So no, if anything, this photo is being used to promote Austin as "straight", but the truth is they are old good friends who went to school together.
Maybe Austin has that ring back on in homage to Heath especially if as people suspected, that ring is a replica of what Randy Quaid wore in Brokeback Mountain (a film Austin loved).

Poor, dear Heath, it didn't have to happen. :'((( I felt sure his death was an accident, but to have it confirmed can't help but bring another level of sorrow. That LA Times interview snippit had me in floods of tears again. He encapsulated himself beautifully there and the essence and perspective he had will be deeply missed.
What better way to insure no unwanted and inappropriate grabby hands during a party that finds you in a slight alternated state of awareness than sitting on one lap you KNOW will not be interested in more than what passes between good friends?

Glad to know Kiki is getting help. I couldn't believe it when her rep said she was fine a couple of days ago. This comes after Mendes who got into rehab too not long ago. I wonder if Heath's passing had some trickle effect on these guys or maybe on their friends who suddenly realized that you can die doing drugs.
Heath's family's latest statement was beautiful but I doubt that tox report will bring them any kind of closure. That list of meds screams of a person who was severely distressed either physically, psychologically or both. I hope the feds find the assholes who gave him all that legal shit.

Heath was prolly asked by all doctors what meds he was taking and he most likely said 'none'. so you really cant blame the prescriber if they get wrong or incomplete info from the patient.

You're quite right Plain Truth. Will try to think before posting next time. :) I guess that laconic yet terribly telling list of meds just made me emotional. I imagine him alone in that empty apartment trying to get some kind, any kind of relief and just finding none and it breaks my heart.
I forgot, he prolly got them from different pharmacies in different countries that were not linked to know which meds he was on either.
Doctors have no way to know what meds you're on. They rely on you to tell them.

^^While they are not entirely at fault, I still think physicians are a bit too free prescribing medications. They are well aware of the abuse and addictive potential of all of these types of drugs, and the predictable human behavior of what could be a potential addict, and I wish they'd give more of an assessment before just throwing a prescription at someone - it's just a shame. It's just devastating.

Not that patients dont dr. shop, but I thought this was an interesting article. I read that Anna Nicole's one dr. prescribed eleven different medications for her!

Okay--just took a look at this week's rags. Most are focusing on Michelle, how she's coping. In Touch has an article about how Mary Kate tried to reach out to Michelle after Heath's death but got the cold shoulder because Michelle thinks she contributed to Heath's downfall.
Then one of the rags has an article on how Heath's women--Michelle, Naomi Watts, Helena C., Lohan (gag), etc. are coping.
Then the coup de grace--oh this is a beauty. OK rag has an article about how Jake is grieving. It said he hasn't appeared at the memorials because he wants to grieve privately and that after he found out Heath died, he called Reese, went on and on about how much he loved her and how she changed his life; he also spoke to his sister for a long while who got worried about him. And at one point, he sounded "groggy and mumbled"--and was losing it. His parents thought about flying to the Brothers set so he wouldn't be alone but Jake wanted to grieve by himself (whatever--he wanted to tough it out himself). The article ended by saying that even though Jake is suffering (oh-he also felt guilty for not being there for Heath because he didn't know how bad it had gotten for him), he does know he has people to lean on when it gets bad.

Oh man, that "Nailed" story sounds so over-the-top that this might actually turn out be a great movie. I see Biel's still on board. Not exactly the best actress around although I loved her in "The Illusionist".

I know there have been comments about him over here in the past, I remember vaguely stories of fights that got a little too "physical" (maybe I'm wrong). I think that role in "Nailed" would be a GREAT showcase for Jake. Really great but Russell is a horrible bully. If he couldn't take Fincher (who actually liked him), then how is he going to take Russell, who was beyond vicious to Lily Tomlin. He was so nasty to the extras that George Clooney almost cleaned his clock.
Russell is notorious for not getting along with actors. Generally speaking, actors hate working with him.
Last year there was an incident where someone released a video on YouTube involving Lily Tomlin, during the I Heart Huckabees shoot, where she and Russell got into a major row.
Then there is the most infamous of all and that is the major fight between Russell and George Clooney while filming, "Three Kings." Russell was being a prick to some extras and even shoved one, and Clooney didn't like it too much and confronted him. Well, the two ended up punching each other and have hated each other ever since.

Nailed has the potential for a great role for Jake. Bubble Boy has been his only comedy. I think he is a natural born comedian and a dark comedy is a great way for him to get a more mature comedic role.
The ring!!!! Wow, what a great surprise to come home to after a crazy day at work, I hadn't checked in here all afternoon. I agree with TT Watcher about the ring possibly being connected to Heath and BBM, it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the picture.
And the difference between Austin & Sophia and Jake & Reese is that the former looks like two people who are old friends having fun together, while the latter looks like two people trudging through another day at the office. I wonder what else Austin is up to in NY.

I wasn't sure how I felt about Nailed when I first heard about it, but then I read it described a different way, and I thought it could have the potential to be very good - the lecherous jerk of a congressman who ultimately comes around to seeing things from the woman's point of view, whatever the road it was he took to get there initially. I think it could be good if done well.

As to Matt, he's looking good too. Lost some weight. I think he was an early Jake lover. Jake mentions him several times in the Darko commentary. Haven't we all found excuses to say our lovers name out loud when the relationship was new. He stopped being Jake's PA by the time DAY After came along. Obviously they are all good friends regardless.

1. It's strikingly similar to the one that Randy Quaid wore in BBM.
2. Some of us believe that Jake gave it to Austin, because the film's subject meant so much to him, and may have been similar to what they may have experienced themselves.
3. Austin has been quoted as saying it's his favorite movie, but stops just short of saying why. ;)
4. It's a coincidence that it's being worn openly again at the time of Heath's death.
5. You don't have to love someone entirely to feel sorrow over their death.

Heath did refer Austin as an extra talking about TDAT. That was not fanfic.
When did he say that?? When?? Martin Henderson was a good friend of his and he stil hasn't achieved marquee stardom--and it didn't stop Heath from being friends with him. I can't see Heath talking about Jake's other friends like that. It doesn't make any sense. From what I read, Heath was very sweet but painfully shy. And that was one of many reasons as to why he turned to drugs. (And I'm not condoning this).
Why are we arguing why he's wearing it, shouldn't we be happy it's back. Isn't that enough?

With regard to the OK article (which I'm assuming is total rubbish).. how on earth would anyone ever know the contents of Jake's telephone conversations just after hearing news of Heath's death. Assuming that such a conversation ever took place, either his phone's being bugged or Reese blabs about something that personal and private to her 'friends' who then relay it to a tabloid. It beggars belief.
Don't believe any tabloid or gossip columnist. That's a pretty good rule to follow. They all lie and they all have their own agendas.
As for Heath, I hate when people talk about him like he was this druggie. He was on anti-anxiety and sleeping pills. He wasn't taking them to get high. He seems to have had a serious sleep disorder. He was probably taking more of them than he should have and it killed him. Don't disparage his character that way.

The Heath stuff is sad and whilst I agree it's newsworthy, I'm not impressed with how the Aussie media is handling it.
This morning they were going on and on about how Heath must have been so stressed out to have taken those tablets.
I agree but the problem is they are saying this to a nation that is part in drought, part in flood damage, just seen our 11th interest rate rise in a short time the day before, 900 odd people just losing their jobs in my home town cause a car factory shut down etc etc. We know all about stress. There would be people almost killing themselves working several jobs to keep their houses. The fallout from the flood is going to be years worth. You know. They need to put it in perspective and remember that whilst a sad death, it is one man.
