Reeke at Nelson Mandela's birthday last night

Wasn't Maggie sighted in NY on Wed as well?
Only the Mirror mentions J&R and there don't seem to be pics even though there are pics of other guests. Thinking this is a guest-list job.
So funny about the Mandela sighting since there have be loads and loads of pictures of the celebration and the celebs there and not one of Jake or Reese.
And wasn't the Mandela celebration earlier this week.
Oh but then Bill Clinton, Oprah, Will Smith, Naomi Campbell, all the camera would taking pictures of them.

Two seperate events:There was a birthday dinner for Mandela on Wednesday at Hyde Park in London hosted by Will Smith. Jake and Reese weren't listed but Oprah, Forrest Whittiker, etc. appeared at both. The pics floating around are from the 1st event. The concert was last night and so far there are ony pics of the performers on stage. Mandela banned Campbell from his dinner on Wednesday due to her legal problems but he didn't seem to have a problem lastnigt with Winehouse performing.

I have to think about my movie choice.
Did anyone watch Brokeback on Bravo last night? They did edit the hell out of it, the tent scenes, the love scenes with the Alma and Lureen. They did keep the reunion kiss intact, the scene in bed at the Siesta motel pretty much, as well as Ennis washing up and Jack doing the wash in the stream. While it was disappointing to see one of my favorite films gutted like a fish (it does take away some of the power of it); but like we say, it's good that a home audience can get to see it, and the more people it reaches, better. Even just for the sheer beauty, and immenseness of it - both the subject matter and the location.
On an amusing note, I love language and I consider colorful swearing part of the beauty of language. Of course, they had to dub some of the swear words, and some of the cuter ones:

I noticed that too NETB. And how they used a shot of the tent rustling for the wide shot for SNIT, make you think of Hayes Code Hollywood, how they infer something but won't show it.
I didn't understand why they would keep the reunion kiss but not the kisses in SNIT. I guess horizontal kissing is a grounds for editing to some.
I picked Priscilla for the movie club. Great song today Wicked. I checked out the album. Very cool : )
I knew they were going to butcher BBM so I didn't even watch. Sorry. too painful.
Thanks for the report NETB, I was very curious as to what they'd do. We did leave it on after the GLAAD awards, but turned it off when they had the first commercial only 15 minutes in. I also found all the adds that kept popping up at the bottom annoying.
It was great to see Rufus on the GLAAD awards, he talked about how he couldn't be in the closet because he's a terrible liar. Matthew Sheppard's mom was honored, and that was very touching. I had such mixed feelings watching the awards; happy for the all the people who are out and how far things have come, but felt sad for all the things that haven't changed. And I couldn't stop thinking of Reeke either. I don't think Jake would get a very good reception if he ever dared show up again.
I hate voting for movie, I can never make up my mind. :D I hope you're leaving the poll up for a few days so I can mull it over.
So far there are no pics of Jeese at the Mandela concert. Maybe they will show up later. From WFT2 here are some celebrity guests arriving .

I agree Spesh, this above all is what bothered me the most. I don't understand why. Ennis kissing and nuzzling Jack's bare chest is beautiful. I did like the wide shot of the tent from afar and the rustling in it, if they had to edit. I still loved it, but I'm glad I saw it in its original form on the big screen, and have it on DVD. I'm thinking about Pricilla for our next movie too. :)
I'm sorry I missed Rufus at the GLAAD awards; I wonder if they'll repeat it. The ads were bothersome, but I did like the one for the ASPCA with Sara McLachlan as spokesperson. I still loved it

Found out something important about Tom. He makes it rain when you go to baseball games with him. He did it last year when we went to Camden Yards and again last night at Nationals Park. Thankfully it didn't last too long. The park is absolutely beautiful and the Nats won over the Orioles, 4-2.
Reminder never invite Tom to a Sox game. : )
Could this report of Reeke at the Mandela concert turn out like the reports of Reeke/Jake at Heath's funeral? The funeral reports were also in credible sources, but it really doesn't seem like Reeke was there.

I dont beleive any sighting until I see evidence in a photo. Jake's reprotedly been in in 3 states/countries in the past 5 days. I do beleive their names were probably on the guest list. A courtesy listing as has happened before.
Off topic, but ONTD has a new interview with Christain Bale. Only a brief mention of Heath, but I bring it up because 1. Christain usually uses an American accent in movies. In this interview, his real accent is very evident. 2. He has a new haircut, is chiseled and is smokin hot. I mean smokin!
Destiny, I think you're right. I don't think Jake would've gotten a good reception at the GLAAD awards. Was that the one where he presented an award to Jennifer Anniston last year, I think?
I am sorry to say I had not heard of Rufus Wainright until this year. He is very charming. I felt it touching when he was talking about always being "on". Sometimes pretending that everything is alright when it's not. He seemed to stop himself and not go any further. I also loved to see 2 of my favorite cast members of Ugly Betty, Michael Urie and the girl who plays Amanda (can't think of her name). I loved that show last year; this year not as much.
Wow, that's a heckuva cover page on US Weekly. I didn't realize it was such a "big" story. Why in the heck is Reese's picture so dang big on it? Clearly she is the focus of that article. I couldn't really read it - you can only stand so long at the checkout counter before the clerks start staring @ you, like "Are you going to buy that or not? : )
One more comment before I go cocoon again; I also stuck around to watch BBM. Man, they did butcher that with their editing. I, too, found some of their language substituting kind of funny. I missed the Jack Frederick Twist, that's hilarious. I also liked the "rocking" tent. I've never seen such an active tent on TV before and I don't remember that long of a glimpse of it in the original movie either. Of course I had to cry again several times, especially a few scenes which made me remember that Heath is gone and was so young when he died.

For every big secret, you need a big lie. Nailed might be on the way to collapse, and those pesky gay rumors aren't going away. US Weekly to the rescue.

I completely disagree. If the presence of an Academy Award nominee is not enough to convince potential backers to fully fund a film, the star is damaged goods.
And when you combine the near-demise of Nailed with the fact that nothing else firm seems to be on Jake's immediate calendar after PoP, I think that we can say that Jake's star has dimmed in Hollywood. If he didn't have PoP, he'd be in BIG trouble right now.
The irony, of course, is that in the process of getting what he really wanted - a franchise - he proved that he's been lying for months.
In effect, PoP provided Jake with 10 million reasons to lie.
This is what happens when you're an ambitious, closeted, gorgeous, talented gay man in Hollywood. You beard, and you hope that the bad karma - fabricated photos, planted rumors, distancing yourself from family and non-industry friends, destroying your credibility with respectable journalists - will not catch up with you.
For Jake, it did : Nailed is a professional embarassment. And there's absolutely nothing that Jake's PR, Reese, CAA, US Weekly or over-zealous fans can do about it.
Nothing.
It looks like Priscilla is edging out Auntie Mame at the moment. Will it be the ABBA loving drag queens beating out Mame.
Sordid Lives got only one vote. Maybe after the series starts on Logo in July more people will want to see the movie.
Beth Grant (Kitty Farmer in Donnie Darko, and the housekeeper in House of Usher)is reprising her role as Sissy Hickey in it. In fact most of the cast from the movie is reprising their roles in Del Shannon's black comedy about white trash set in small town Texas.

Some aspects seem like it could be Jake. The committee decision, the reference to back home (US) and to George Michael who has been caught in English woods before.
Sorry still think that Jake and Austin are still very very much together. That's not going to change for me.
Special K, I think they are still together too, based on Ted's comments. Plus, Ted has said Toothy had been very careful to go only with people he knows. But I felt I had to pass the item on to get feedback and opinions.

I find it hard to believe that Reese and Jake have been together in England for 2 weeks and there are no pap pics. For a couple who are such pr whores, they didn't arrange a coffee run session, or they were at a market and didn't arrange a photo op? Doesn't sound like them. What's the point of Reese dumping her kids and running off to be with Jake if she's not getting PR pics of her clinging to him out of it. I also find it odd that Reese who protrays herself and super loving, soccer mom left her kids in LA for over 2 weeks to be with her "boyfriend".

You're mistaken about this, J & R are not PR whores. All the pap pics that get taken of them by paps in LA? well guess what, this is when the paps find them out-and-about. There are a lot of paps in Hollywood, trying to keep up with all the celebrities there, ya know. Of course the paps will go where the celebs are, duh!!
