It's not often when you see Austin on the red carpet, and then its
because he is directly involved in the promotion or party. And even when attending its more likely you see pictures of him at the party not arriving via the red carpet. Could he be just a shy guy? Naaaah Maybe he just doesn't want to share where he gets his cool accessories. But money's on that he just wants to get inside and have a good time.

Maggie Gyllenhaal had to limp down the red carpet at Monday's The Dark Knight premiere, after breaking her toe.
The actress, who stars opposite Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger in the new Batman movie, suffered the fracture after whacking her foot against some furniture at home.
She blames the accident on her nerves ahead of the film's big release, telling TV talk show host David Letterman on Wednesday, "I'm like this indie actress, and I have this big movie, and all of a sudden I have a broken toe. I think it was because I was nervous about all this stuff. This big, huge movie all of a sudden, and I just walked across the room and I broke my toe."
But the star reveals she was too stunned to feel any pain from the break, musing: "I guess it hurt. My boyfriend (actor Peter Sarsgaard) was impressed with how broken it was."

AG you made some good points in the previous thread. This whole Reeke thing is so old HW, and it may very well backfire. People are going to TDK because of the movie and Heath's performance, not because the stars of the movie are tabloid fodder. And it's probably going to be one of the biggest movies ever.
Unfortunately I won't be going this weekend, I tried to buy tickets on Tuesday for an early Sunday morning showing at the IMAX and discovered everything was sold out for the weekend, even the 6 a.m. show. And all the evening showings are sold out for the next week, the furthest out you can buy tickets. I've never seen anything like it.
Doesn't it seem kind of crazy that if you are an up and coming star that you avoid the red carpet. That's where you get your free PR. Austin pretty much has.
It's not like he doesn't get on the list. Or know people, he runs in some hip circles of young Hollywood. You know he get some invites, but you never see him at at all.
And then HELLO! he pops up out of nowhere, while Jakes "on tour". What's up with that?
It is strange, Special. And so far we don't seem to have any evidence that he was at the awards show the following night, just the party the night before.

Great song today. I agree with you guys about Austin. He definately seems to keep a low profile professionally. Maybe with his new movie coming out well see alittle more of him in the spotlight.

What does everyone think of Sam and Lindsay? The pictures I had seen were very cute, but I had held off from commenting in case it was just being done for publicity or another "career move". Now it looks like it might be the real deal. Sam is kinda hot in the latest ones, especially in the one where she's throwing a kiss to Lindsay. :)

Austin looks good in these photos. He looked a tad heavy in the espy one, but I think it was just the lighting.
Watched Maggie's interview on Letterman. She told a story about she and Peter checking each other for ticks nightly and how it leads to other things. At that she lit up like a rocket. Like Jake in the presence of Austin. That's how people who are in love and like having sex with each other look. Not at all like Reeke.

To me, Lindsay seems like what we used to refer to as a "Lilith Fair Lesbian"- someone who is just experimenting, fed up with men, thinks being with women is easier, but who when the rubber hits the road will go back to men. I think Sam's running the risk of getting her heart broken.

Didn't Ted have a BI about a Oscar contender who wanted to have a baby but was closeted. The rumors ran rampant about Penelope Cruz and there was some chatter about Salma if I recall.
The story about Maggie lightening up when talking about Peter, reminds me of Jake on Regis and Kelly last fall PR (PRE ROME) and his face when they asked him about him dating and his social life, and what he did the night before. You could see the thought come right across his face. That smile was the best smile, and it meant only one MAN.
Has Lohan had any long-term relationships with men? Seems like its always been just been reports of hookups, be they real or not. Could be that she just doesn't form emotional attachments with men, or that there was a bit of the Clooney strategy at work with all of that. Personally I think she is probably bisexual, and that she looks happier than I've ever seen her. I also think this is a real relationship, whether for the short-term or the ages, and everytime I see pictures of her with Sam I want to shout "you go girl".

ITA. Bale, Maggie and HL are underated actors not PR hounds. Their talent not their gossip makes the movie and thats how it should be.
Back from TDK. I could go on for hours, but let me just say it was fantastic. Fantastic. I can't wait to see it a 2nd time and at least once more at an IMAX theater. It was a dense crime story where someone just happened to dress up like a batman. I would also say it was an ensemble piece, in that all the principal characters had fairly equal screen time. But, when the Joker was on screen, everyone else disappeared. He was that commanding. Heath completely disappeared into the character, just like he did with Ennis.
I don't visit data lounge, but saw the mention of the gay bar incident on WFT2. They claim a picture was taken and the guy who saw Jake told everyone at his office all about it the next day. We'll see if the story has legs.

I'm finding it hard to believe that rumour about the gay bar. Jake is very media savy and know how to stay hidden if he wants to. Look at Paris, 3 days of photo posing and now, no where to be seen. He's not caught at bars in LA, he definitely wouldn't get caught at a gay bar in London.
I have a question: Austin has always done TV AND movies. Jake has concentrated mostly on movies.

Gary Oldman is underrated too. He's been one of my faves since Sid and Nancy.
Tom's here and we had an Austinfest last night. Watched both Full Count and House of Usher. Maybe I went into them with no expectations, but I really enjoyed both more than I thought I would. Usher was really creepy and Full Count had some good performances. TDK today @ 3:30. Yay!

I don't see TDK until tomorrow, 1:00 pm, IMAX, so I can't wait. Enjoy! I love Gary Oldman too, in everything I've seen him in. I watched Batman Begins to get reaquainted with the characters and Chris Nolan's directing style, and of course, the soundtrack; I loved it, I got chills when they handed Batman the Joker's calling card at the end. I loved the character of Rachel, can't wait to see Maggie as Rachel. Lots of wonderful actors, Ken Watanabe, Liam Neeson, Cillian Murphy, Gary Oldman. Christian Bale makes a great Batman. Very well done, how could I have ever missed it? I can only imagine how good TDK is going to be. Glad you enjoyed your own Austin film festival! :)

How could I have forgotten to add the wonderful Michael Caine as Alfred, and Tom Wilkinson was great as a mob boss (great accent), he's a fantastic actor, and Morgan Freeman, Rutger Hauer. Great story of how Batman came to be. I don't know if I can stand the wait until tomorrow, it's hard avoiding any and all reviews of TDK. :)

WHY does she walk a mile ahead of l'homme gorgeous and not walk with her arm around him? I don't get it. Deacon is adorable. They look sorta like me and my OH when we've had a mild tiff - she flounces off in an annoyed huff in the beginning, he looks mildly amused/aggravated (and tres gorgeous, I might add), then they seem to be ok after that. They look uncomfortable with the pap attention, but they must get that all the time? ;)
