Where you at?

To most, the way to find Jake is look for Reese - but really just read an interview with Austin and its like its own Jake GPS.

"On a Friday night I like this newish Mario Batali joint in Hollywood on Highland called Pizzeria Mozza. The food is really creative and the atmosphere is kind of different – I just feel like I’m not in Los Angeles. I’d order the pizza with asparagus, pancetta and a fried egg. I like to sit at the bar, but there’s also a cool back room for small parties."

LA Times

"Later I might infiltrate some hotel and steal some time in its Jacuzzi."
LA Times

"On Sunday I’ll get up and go to breakfast at a nice, relaxed place on Highland called Ammo, sort of upscale American cuisine. They have this great blood-orange juice, which is my favorite drink in the whole city."
LA Times

Dominick’s is a great spot, I also like the Hungry Cat, Am[m]o, the Bowery. They’re really great restarants. Honestly, most nights I just go to Cactus #1 Taqueria, best street tacos in town
LAist

Hmmm I guess start looking for a guy wearing a beanie and pounding down a few tacos.

When Special K met Prairie Girl.

Saddled up and moseyed past all the cattle, tumbleweeds, and gunfighters and headed on into town to see Prairie Girl. (Cue Little House on the Prairie or Gunsmoke theme song here - your choice, personally I go with LHotP, cause she falls down the hill kinda like me)

Actually got a ride and met PG at a Ruby Tuesday's tucked into an upspring of mini-malls and big box stores. Did you think it was a horse ride in high plains to a house made of sod? No tumbleweeds or country bumpkin's were we - and 5 hours, dinner, a trip to see Christmas lights that rival KC's famed Country Club Plaza at PG's place, and couple coffees later. (BTW: had a new first- last call at a Starbuck's) we were still chatting. It was total blast. Now PG may tell you another side of the story. : )

Thanks PG for such a great time - and for the Red Sox stained glass baseball and Christmas treats for the family! Yup got to taste PG's cooking - dee -lish!

Wow Spesh meets PG. I was thinking about that all week. That is soooo great. You two ladies must have had a blast. I can see you both sitting in the chaise lounge eating cheese its.

Now PG must come east.

Hi Spesh,

I like today's post and music - love the murals on the taco place. Glad you got to meet PG and had so much fun, and spend the holidays with family. Yes, PG will have to come east now. :)

LOLLLL! Cheez Its! Yesss! Hmmm, although with the Peppermint, what was it, oh yeah, Peppermint Mocha Twist - Not exactly a good combination there, tho. And on the ending note, I had to go & spill what was left of mine on the floor & had to leave a mess. I told the guy though what I did & showed him my mess. He was nice about it.

It was incredible. A total blast. yak yak yak. If words were one dollar bills, Special & I would've had enough to go sneak a flight to London and visit London TB, lol. Heck, maybe even on the way back, visit ag & Norwegian Girl.

Next frontier? the northeast. There's no stopping this train now! We'll all just hop on this train, we'll all stand on the back car and spread the word of Tooth-er, news of goodwill to the masses along the way. lol.

Today? Rain. Cold rain. Not very hospitable weather we're giving today. But better tomorrow!

Love the pictures today. I'm thinking J & A are doing alot of catching up this week. Don't know if alot of restaurants are in the works, though. That would mean having to get up & out. Could be they might want alot of home deliveries instead, lol.

Now thats my kind of woman.
I see Myself, Wicked, Special, Destiny, NE, and PR Girl all hanging out in NYC during the Today show taping with our We Love Toothy posters. Who would like to join us.

Funny post. I love the murals on the taco place too, and it sounds like my kind of place.

Glad to hear special and pg had such a good time, count me is as another one who wishes I could have been there, and that you make it back east pg.

Hilarious. Could you envision it? Matt Lauer trying to be serious about giving the news and behind him, behind the big glass, posters of a big white tooth. A look of puzzled bewilderment covers Matt's face as he looks at his co-host (I don't know who it is) and mouths, what the heck? what's with The Tooth?. And she just shrugs, but a little smile curls at the corner of her mouth and she turns to us and gives us a secret thumbs up sign with a wink.

LOLLLL!!

I wanted to tell you, Kacie, that you don't have to apologize for anything. Heck, that's nothing. You had alot happen to you these last few weeks; perfectly understandable. I hope your mom is doing better? Falls are never good. And hopefully your mom is feeling alot better and no further repercussions.

Anyway, Happy New Year's to you!! Hope you found a few after Christmas bargains and I'm going to be dogsitting on New Year's Eve, believe it or not. No hot date for the ol' Prairie Girl except with a male daschund. And he's not my type, lol. Oh wellll, heavy sigh. It'll be a good time. A good movie dvd and some Cheez It's.

I was just thinking about who will accept Heaths award should he win the Golden Globe, Bafta, SAG, or Oscar. Anybody think that Jake would have the b*lls to take one of the honors?

Anonymous said...

Fantastic that you met up and spent time, Spesh and PG - amazing :)

Anonymous said...

I thought it was already announced that one of the costars of TDK or Christopher Nolan will accept if he wins.

Anonymous said...

Yes, Heath's father said that either Bale or Morgan Freeman would except if Heath won.

Anonymous said...

Really wouldn't be appropriate. Why people cannot accept that Jake and Heath really weren't that close at the time of Heath's death is beyond me.

Anonymous said...

Even if true they were no longer close, which you can't know for sure either, that would still be no reason for Jake not to have made a statement when Heath died. Jake may have other valid reasons for not saying anything, but not being close at the precise time of Heath's passing is not one.

Uh oh! Just checked my phone and found a message from PG and Spesh from last night. Sorry I missed you guys! Had the ringer turned off. Sounds like you had a great time.

In other news, next year's Christmas is in doubt. Tink has torn Santa limb from limb and ripped his guts out. Hopefully the elves will be able to put him back together again.

Anonymous said...

Bad Tink! LOL

Anonymous said...

Yuk. Chris just updated his website to show pictures of him gutting a deer. I am not a vegetarian and I know I am eating the meat of animals, but seeing it is troubling.

Glad Special and PG got to meet. How exciting to be able to talk face to face about a favorite subject. None of my friends will tolerate jake discussion. My husband will since he knows how important it is to me. So happy we have this site, Ted and WFT2.

Me too m.

Think its funny that you learn as much about Jake as you do Austin when Austin sits down for a interview.

Bad Bad Tink ... I think Santa is putting a big red x on your house next year young lady - I guess the elves will have go underground and help Santa deliver presents to PeaBunny Corinna and Potter.

prairiegirl said...

lol! Poor Santa toy. That one didn't last long, did it, Wicked? I have a friend, mother of Little Dog, Abby & aunt of Sushi, who has a yay-high stack of toys to be mended/sewn back together. Little Dog destroys everything. Sounds like Tink does the same thing.

m, we'll have to get together sometime and shoot the breeze. What fun; talking about other things as well, but alot about our favorite subjects, J & A. And you & I could have a real yakfest about slash. I bet we'd get "last call" at Starbucks, too.

Where are you seeing this Edible Island? On Youtube?

I think it would be highly appropriate. Everyone knows how I feel about the tragic loss of Heath, so I'll spare you all my going into too great of detail, but he was Jake's colleague in an very important film for both of them. Perhaps it would be too personal for Jake to say anything, I can understand that, but saying they were no longer close at the time of Heath's death is something I don't buy. Even at a minimum, they worked together at one point in time, and I'm sure blog posters have no idea how close they actually were. Perhaps now he's had a chance to come to terms with the loss and is ready to say something. It's never inappropriate to speak about the tragic loss of a fellow actor and friend, if you want to. Whoever presents and/or accepts the Best Supporting Actor award on Heath's behalf should he win, will be wonderful. That's all I'll be watching for, at the GGs and Academy Awards this year, quite frankly. :)

prairiegirl said...

Agree, Northeast. And I can't believe they weren't close; maybe not in the last year of Heath's life, but certainly while they were filming and for some of the promo work of the film, looking at the pictures that were taken of them. And who knows what happened. No one knows except Jake and he doesn't have to say anything about their relationship if he doesn't want to. I am still disappointed that he didn't say anything about Heath directly after his death; it was a grave mistake on his part, I think.

But we all make mistakes and if he does say something at Golden Globe time about Heath, then that would be nice.

Images of Jake, Reese, & family that week at the state park following Heath's death still burn in my mind & make me mad. I hope he regrets that.

It is going to be such an interesting time as we approach award times. I hope, hope, hope, that Heath wins.

Anonymous said...

m, if that is troubling turn vegetarian. The thing that I find more troubling is people making statements, like yours, having no trouble buying cooking and eating carefully packed meat from the supermarket happily oblivious of the fact at some point it was a living animal and yeah, someone gutted it. Sheesh.

Anonymous said...

Thanks PG, and I so agree, I hope, hope, hope Heath wins for his performance as The Joker. I just cannot believe how good he was in it, almost rivals Ennis for me and I didn't think that was possible! He's very evil and frightening, but charismatic too. A very well done film in every way.

prairiegirl said...

He was mesmerizing. I found myself throughout the movie just waiting for the scenes that he was in.

You know, where do you think meat comes from, call me Oblivious. I can't stand to see a dead bunny in the road, an animal shot at, an animal gutted by another animal or human, even a fish caught on a hook. But that isn't going to stop me from eating it. Heck, I'm not stupid. I know what happens to the animals in order for me to eat. But I'm not depriving myself. I'm still going to eat my Red Robin Bonzai burger. I don't think someone has to become a vegan just to have feelings for a slain animal. m was just making a comment; don't think it merited any kind of personal slam.

Sounds like you two had a great time - cool - now PG must come up east : )

Prairiegirl, no need to 'deprive' yourself, dear, keep eating your belove burger! What a laugh.

For the love of god, I cannot figure out what was so upsetting about those images in relation to heath death. Why couldn't Jake go for a stroll in a a park with a friend and her kids?

Anonymous said...

^^It smacked of self promotion, and I do mean smacked in every sense of the word. I can understand if they are a couple and he needed her support in the loss of a friend and colleague, and taking a stroll outside to get away from the four walls mourning someone, but what I cannot understand for the life of me is why they needed to take pap pics of it and disseminate them all over the place, four days after Heath's death. Poor taste and inappropriate, IMO.

"Why couldn't Jake go for a stroll in a a park with a friend and her kids?"
Jake can choose to do whatever he wants with his life. But,that stroll was promoting Reeke as something kind of happy, little family out for a walk in the park. Firstly, they are not his kids and he is not their step-father. Secondly, whethter they were close or even friendly doesn't matter. They were collegues who worked on a famous film together. Every actor/actress/director that worked with Heath all released some kind of statement saying how they were saddened by his untimelly passing. The reason Jake stands out is that he is the only actor that worked with Heath that never said anything. His actions are perceived as being disrepectful and self-absored.

destiny said...

Totally agree PG and NE about Heath and that park outing. Unfortunately those images seem to have been burned into my brain, wish I could forget them.

We should have an omg convention. pr would probably send spies. And lol that today show description. Have to admit I have had that fantasy.

prairiegirl said...

neena, you don't get it at all, do you? I'm not going to explain it to you. If you didn't see what was wrong with it, then well, I don't know what to say. You totally miss it.

Don't expect to change my mind absolutely whatsoever on that subject because you won't make me see the light of day on that one.

The reason Jake stands out is that he is the only actor that worked with Heath that never said anything. .

Exactly, disprespectful. And it was a famous film. It was a landmark film. And I don't know whose decision it was for him not to issue a statement or to do those pictures with Reese & her family. But they were both big mis-steps for him in 2008.
I better let it go for right now, lol. I'll get myself all worked up all over again.

I really like this song today. I feel like I should be eating some salsa & tortilla chips. Andale, andale! bring me mas Tostitos!!

LOLLL!! my Spanish is terrible, isn't it? me gusto Tostitos & Pace salsa!!!
and Reeeeeed Robin, yummmmm..

Ever hear that commercial? My niece & nephew were the ones who pointed out how they say "Yummmmm" at the end of the song.

I'm getting loopy. I better hit the hay. My favorite fanfic story has been updated, In Plain Sight!!!! gahhhhhh, I'm so excited. I'm literally beside myself.

Didn't see Chris with the deer - I have seen him cook the goat. He has this dry sense of humor, must work well to play off of some of Jake's goofier moments.

Menemsha! Portions of Spielberg's Jaws was filmed there. Cool.

Prairie Girl, Chris's blog is at http://edibleisland.typepad.com I dont know how to do links, but I am sure someone here will do it. Course he will probably lock it up if too many people start showing up. I am going to start Book of Dreams tonight. Not sure I could discuss slash face to face. A bit personal since it is arousing, but I would give it a try. When Queer as Folk was on originally, my hairdresser(gay) and I would talk about it all the time. We both were in love with Brian Kinney. Always lots of red faces.

Praire Girl, my mother died on February 2, 2004, and my father on
August 3, 2005, so I lost them in
about exactly 18 months apart. I
just wish that Jake could have made just a simple statement when
Heath died. But people grieve in
different ways. I know this from
personal experience.
Tink, I hope you are being good
so next year you get lots of goodies!!

Paps very often don't ask for permission to post pictures. What are you talking about? They went for a walk and the pictures were taken and then th pictures were distributed.
