Go for all the Gelt

Jake celebrated his birthday at Peter Luger's on Monday with Mama G bringing in a cake for the birthday boy.

No word about what he got for his birthday but can anything beat cashmere socks, a wind chime and a tea set? Maybe the Banksy. But really what beats it all definitely something tall and Texan.

But with a birthday, Hanukkah and Christmas within days of each other there is pile of presents to get Jake and that can be a challenge .

To help with the Hanukkah list, how about, something uniquely made?

Jake's joked about being a narcissist, what better than some of these:

For those days when he wants to make sure he's seen, how about a sweater with his face on it.Or something a little crafty to do like a cross-stitch Donnie Darko.Or maybe something for the kitchen. It's not a tea set but a tea towel...As one of the dishes that people would rather do.
Now if he's still going to stick with the lumberjack look maybe the Secret Order of the Lumberjack pin is most fitting.Or maybe just go for it and get him this:

Yes there's an app for that:
Happy Hanukkah!

Oh Austin you put relaxer on your hair and look what happened. Please don't do the Soul Glo.

Coming to America - (Soul Glo)

Does this mean you are in Queens? Or that you are going next going to do Sexual Chocolate covering Whitney Houston's Greatest Love of All?

Coming to America-Greatest Love of All

Does that mean Jake's getting the Wii Tennis out?

"I've been wondering if Jake had, given up meat too given the places he is spotted at too."

Destiny... you shouldn't be leaving little gems like this around for me to ponder.

I just can't imagine Jake giving up his meat... that would be too much!

Seaweed, lol.

Hey, so does anyone know why they keep calling the Berlin Film thingy a jury?

And here's a trivia, if anyone knows it. I haven't looked it up yet but a Fun Fact on a local radio station this morning was 'What was Gilligan's first name?'

Whaaaa??? I didn't know they ever mentioned Gilligan's first name! I've watched every episode of G.I. a kazillion times! I own every DVD set! But I do not remember them ever saying Gilligan's first name. You knowwww....unless they mention it in one of those first couple of old B&W episodes where they're listening to the radio on the beach and the newsman does run over everyone's name.

Does anyone know this? You can't look it up on the internet either! This is going to drive me crazy.

Years later when asked Sherwood Schwartz said he would have named him Willy. Willy Gilligan. said...

Really? You can't figure that out?

That's because they never did.

LOL! Sherwood obviously wasn't a vegetarian either.

Someone who sits on a panel for a film festival is supposed to be an impartial juror who assesses the quality/worth of a work of art and awards a prize in each category of competition. For many, the term is wholly misleading when applied to a film (or any other artistic creation for that matter) because the etymology suggests there is such a thing as objective facts/findings when it comes to awarding a final judgment of what is "best". We all know that personal tastes/biases, politics, cronyism, et al. often trump merit. Brokeback Mountain, anyone?

Just like with the twitpic of the LA Times, Austin may be telling us he's in NYC now. It appears from a quick search of the Internet that LaSalle's been in NY in October, November and December. The last two sightings were on December 4th (World Premiere of War Horse at the Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts ) and December 8th he attended a book party for "Kill Switch" at the New York Institute of Technology on the Upper West Side. In one article they indicate that La Salle is a notable New Yorker:

"The world premiere of Steven Spielberg's "War Horse" took place Sunday night at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center and a slew of notable New Yorkers came out to screen the potential best picture player. Besides Spielberg himself, other industry faces included Walt Disney Studios Chairman Rich Ross, Joel Coen, Stephen Daldry (who has his own awards season player waiting in the wings), best actress contender Elizabeth Olsen, "Shame" director Steve McQueen, NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, Brian Cox, Billy Connolly, Ed Westwick, Stephen Lang, Eriq La Salle, Phylicia Rashad and um, Kathie Lee Gifford among others."

Hey, you know what you can do, 21:35, with an answer like that?

Thanks, M&M, for your considerate answer. I honestly didn't know. Color me dim, I guess.

Welllll, the ol' Barq's Diet Root Beer is injecting some much needed "zip" into the ol' PG tonight. I've been sliding down a hill non-stop since the ride home and went right to sleep with my cold. And of course, at the very last minute, wrapping a few gifts for my co-workers. We are closing up shop tomorrow and I am only putting in 1/2 a day and then it's Free, Free, Free!!! until next Tuesday!!

I don't know about anyone else, but I like the idea of Eriq LaSalle being in New York City for the past 3 months.

:)

Thaaaaaank you, Big Gay Picture Show. Hear, hear!!!

They left out a few, some that I think are hotter than those.

You know.

The blue trunks, bare toes on the hotel chaise lounge, sans Kiki.

The open athletic jersey biking pic.

The white shirt gapping in the breeze Prince of Persia shot!!!

I mean, come ON!!!!

Those 3 right there bring down the house.

I'm free! I'm free! I'm freeeee!!! It's time for a Kevin McAllister hallway dance.

I did stick around for free pizza and cheese breadstick. LOLLLL!! Hey, I'm not stupid. Besides, with the phone & the ol' Outlook Out of Office Attendant on, lights out in the ol' cube-aroni...it was party time. We all had a little picnic up in our office. We get along pretty good so it was fun. I just love work before Christmas, love wishing everyone Merry Christmas. Hugs and waves and laughs. Except this year, only one hug - that poor unsuspecting guy will probably catch my cold now.

Free! Free! Free!!

And what is this about Adam Lambert having to be separated from his boyfriend in Finland and both spending time in jail? Good grief!

Fight! lol. Dang. What kind of thing do those 2 have going on? I wish I could've seen that, lol.

Well they were in the BA room of a gay club, my guess would be sexual jealousy, or stepping over some agreed upon line due to the alcohol.
