This is a look at Jake and the other side of fame. I think Jake is a people person and can be a bit of a pleaser. The problem with being a pleaser is that when you try to be all things to all people, you tend to end up not being true to yourself. Remember how Ted said Toothy enjoyed his new-found fame and didn't want to do anything to lose it? I just hope that hasn't translated into a willingness to do anything to keep it. Be true to yourself, Jake.

I agree with Destiny in the previous post... that the "Moon Project" migth have been the deciding factor for Jake's recent PDA... "Brothers" is not a big-budget film and it's similar to the Jake's previous projects (working respected director but not major blockbusters), even "Nailed" wouldn't be that much of a big deal. But landing "Moon Project" might require certain compromises from him... :(

I think that Reek has a lot to do with both Jake’s recent movie projects and the gossip escalating on the internet this autumn. Jake was blatantly outed by JJ and later Ted went front page on E! with the NY sighting (which I absolutely believe is true. Not only does the timing and Jake’s mood fit the timeline but also the way J&A where behaving according to the stalker perfectly fits bltb’s analysis on how they interact with each other. Fantastic stuff by the way , bltb :).
JJ was of course dismissed as a nutcase and forced to back off, and Ted’s sighting curiously did not spread around to other sights. I truly believe that the heat of these outings drove Jake and his people to panic mode and heavier bearding just like the previous heat after Lakers initiated Gretchen, Mance and Natalie. All of which where executed as sloppily as the photoshopping of the beach photos.

Good point, hopeful tb, about the NY sighting of Jaustin. It sounds real because it's such a detailed description of playful but discreet PDA. I've done that walk where you keep bumping into each other just to maintain contact. Mega-cute.

Well, I don't think everything Jake does is because someone tells him to. I do think he has his own brain and is an adult. Even if some of it was for PR, I think Jake really did and does consider Lance a friend. US Weekly isn't above making crap up, same with Ted C. You may blindly follow what they say but that could be as calculated and pre-determined as anything from Jake's PR.
Hopeful: The first set of Laker's pics were in Feb. 06, and they only caused a stir online, the rags didn't mention them at the time. Gretchen was in May and Natalie was May-July and Mance was the Summer and continued into the fall. Jake and Austin were seen together after the 1st set of Laker's pics, no PR panic cover-up your timeline is all wrong.
What happened was Michael K from D-listed pulled a JJ 2 months after the 1st set of Lakers pics in April 06 with that bogus coming out story and the NY Daily news picked it up. The forced Laker's 2 pics showed up showing them embarrassed and upset and THEN Gretchen, etc. Happened. The Star, 2 weks later did a story which dismissed it as all silly internet gossip. There seems to be some confusion with some thinking Jake and his people "reacted" after the 1st set of Laker pics, when it wasn't the case: they were seen working out and the pics of Jake in the owl shirt.
The reason why Ted's sighting didn't spread is because most didn't believe it, Ted has been known to post BS like that from e-mails that are forwarded by online fandoms. Thre is no legal fear and it wasn't vetted because it was nothing more than a Defamer/Gawker sighting and they don't vet so why should Ted?
JJ was and still will be dismissed because he continues to be made a fool of by fake insiders because they know he is dumb enough to post anything.

Perhaps. But previously Ted had always run this kind of sighting as Toothy and BF as in August. This NY one was clearly named as Jake and Austin. I don't think other sites felt comfortable running something which could be considered a semi-outing without pictures. Covering their asses. So it got put into the "unproven rumors" bin.
Without having access to Ted's sources who can say how accurate these sightings are. It's a personal choice whether you believe it or not.
I've been following Toothy since the first BI. When posters started guessing Jake (who to me was just Donnie Darko and Kirsten's bf) I just thought "oh, really?".
It was when almost a year later I saw the pictures of Jake and Austin looking "intimate" that I was convinced. Otherwise, it's a hell of a co-incidence that Ted was writing about Jake/Toothy (and there is nobody else who is Toothy), and here he is with his great friend looking like a couple. Just my personal opinion - and shared by some others obviously.

max: When TMZ placed Jake in the trailer on the set of JFC all day and then the sighting at the resturaunt, that was an outing as well and several blogs picked it up not all but enough that the NY Daily News picked it up and ran with it.
That post, snarky as it was pretty much outed them and you are forgetting that Ted outed them earlier in his in the closet blurb so that "sighting" was treated as a Gawker like sighting. Well after it was sent to Ted the dude turned into the BF and embellished. who's that: I used to be a regular on ONTD. Most ID'd Jake as TT back in the summer of '05 over there. They posted all TT BI's religiously. Not anymore as they have grown bored with it for various reasons including the fact that they already ID'd him already.Ted has fallen out of favor there and elsewhere including Defamer. A lot of other major blogs like Defamer, etc have not only stopped posting any "new" TT crap but they have stopped pimping his columns/BI's period. Once in a while one of the lesser known blogs may mention them, but that's it. His audiece has shrunk to here,WFT/DC/FCC, it's not surprising since the posters here also cross post to those sites so basically it's the same people. Oh, yeah you of course try to "create" interest fir Ted by psting his column on DL.

I knew you'd bring that example up. An unknown dude was turned into the BF. Not good for Ted's cred but it has been pointed out before to tbs. It was not very descriptive anyway, and at the time I thought it could just have been someone spotting Jake and Chris accidentally touching feet while eating. The observer turned it into "playing footsie".
The diff with NY was that he named Jake and Austin, and the sighting was much more detailed. Different enough to me to give it some credibility anyway.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents to Ted's report about the footsie incident. Most of us decided at the time that Ted had used the footsie incident in order to directly tie Jake to TT. Ted does embellish and use some items in order to make a point. That's one of his trademarks.

This sentence comes from Ted's NY sighting where he IDs J&A. I could be wrong here, but I interpret this as Ted saying he either has pictures or has seen pictures from this sighting, but they're low quality.

I love seeing Jake in orange so much I almost don't see Reese. I love orange, and it is nice to see Jake wearing a bright color for a change. I don't always read the comments, but it struck me that there wasn't much in the way of "he's gay" on x17. If that is usual for the sight, maybe that is one reason why they are getting the photos?
Ok I think I was finally able to pinpont what looks so odd in pics of Jake with Reese. It is not the lack of a smile. It's the lack of vulnerability.
Jake looks vulnerable almost shy in many of the pics with Kirsten. Almost like 'I am so lucky I get her attention and would do anything to keep it'. That's what makes me quite sure they were for real.
I have seen that look on Jake's with Austin, the Casanova pics and bookstore pics in particular.
He never looks like that with Chris, obviously, Chris is a great friend and makes him feel very secure.
I don't see vulnerability in any of the pics with Reese not even the famous PDA in Rome. In those and the ones from today he looks so much in control almost self-complacent.

Looking at the pics of Jake with RDJ and the pics back in April, i say that it is the same man, can't tell if it the same guy in the recent pic but it probably is. A relative of Peter's?? AG, I'm don't think Austin's storyline will involve an inappropriate teacher/student relationship. The description of Tami, Julie's mother, lashing out at Austin's character makes it sound as though it's something else. The Julie/Tami relationship has been very tenuous this season so I can imagine that Tami could get upset with just about anyone who has any kind of a relationship with her daughter.

The breakfast photos - Eh, same old, same old. It's like they showed up to a casting call and just milled around on the sidewalk until it was time to take the arm-linking shot. Never mind that they look aimless before they start walking in the same direction. You can tell when friends and lovers are together, even when standing casually on a sidewalk. There's engagement and focus. Jake and Reese look like strangers waiting for a bus...or for someone to capture this particular day's being together. Seeing Jake having dined with Orlando looks like the real engagement of his day. I never knew they were friends or acquaintances.
On a lighter note, Jake looks great in the breakfast photos. It's nice to see him wearing some colour again! He reminded me of Robert Graysmith in the Orlando video, especially that jacket.

Reese said she has known Jake for a few years when asked if you didn't meet on the set how did you get to know each other so your comments that they looked like strangers doesn't make sense.

Their "look" was described by X17 as being "bedheads" but....did anyone else besides me think Reese looked unhappy? Almost like she had been crying? Of course, she coulda had a cold. But Jake looked a little smirky, confident, different. Independent. Almost like they've traded roles, compared to what we've seen since Rome.
Let's hope that the other person who predicted some major tongue/tonsil wrestling to be had between J/R and witnessed by X17, oops I mean anonymous paps, is totally wrong. Although....I have gained a bit of weight and maybe losing my appetite along with some hefty bulmina could knock off a few pounds. Seeing them two trade spit would definitely do it. Bleeech.
Ah, excellent idea with the bedhead/breakfast pictures. Definite proof they are staying at each others houses so they must be having a hot romance. I also like how the last picture in the x17 set is supposed to look like they are holding hands, which they are not.
They both look sour for whatever reason. Still waiting (though not hoping) for a picture with genuine affection and lust.
Does anyone think Ted & Toothy/Jake are hand in glove? not at the begining but after Crisp Lisp? I don't think Jake is the sweet, charming young guy some people think he is..I just feel the image is coming apart at the seams. Wouldn't be surprised if it came out that he is no better than any other young HW actor.
Can imagine Reese getting into Jake's little kink? With Kirsten they did it in changing rooms, balconies... Can you see Reese doing this. No f'ing way.

I want to see Jake and Reese out with his friends and her friends. I want to see how they interact with each other's friends.
Particularly Jake's. Because I don't know anything about Reese's. But Jake is very much a loyal friend so if this thing goes on for a substantial period of time and we don't see them interacting with other parts of each other's lives, then it's going to seem very suspicious.
And by interacting with friends, I don't mean rolling up to a Halloween party at the house of someone I've never seen either of them socialise with before.
