i always think Austin's wedding-ring-like-ring on his chest is rather telling. It means something about someone, and if that's not Jake, it's Jake's loss. :)
Will we soon get the "cycling team" troll after this post? :-) Y'know a "hundred guys all have these cycling jackets yadda yadda" missing the point that the other hundred guys are not the rumored bf.
We'll also get the "but Jake shares his clothes with lots of people" comment, I should imagine. (Not put as politely as that). Well, he's shared items of clothing with Peter S and Chris, I think, but that just shows me that Austin was/is at least as close to Jake as those two. And more IMO.
I can't even begin to comment on The Second Ring. The Ring disappears in July (?) to be replaced with one on a chain. unfortunately it's impossible to tell from that picture if it's the same as jake's pinkie ring. I suspect we will never find out, tbs.
It is quite interesting that Special K pointed out (on this very blog :-)) while Jake was doing his press for Rendition, BEFORE Ted wrote about Jake and Austin being spotted together in NY, that those black jeans looked like they belonged to a taller man. After the Letterman show and before Reese went to NY.
Still don't think there is any happy ending for the Toothy Tile saga. There is no way that Austin would ever rat on Jake even if they have/do split, and Jeese seems to be rolling on. Now I'm just watching to see if Jake and Austin are ever photographed together again. Could be a long wait.

I'm just glad that we got a picture of the new ring before the Reeke bomb blew up. Thank God for heat waves in Austin! It's too bad the picture is out of focus but the new ring looks thicker than Jake's pinky ring. It's too hard to tell if it's the same. However, I believe both are somehow linked to Jake based on the way Austin wears them.

Jake and Reese are featured on the new cover of The Star. I thought Reese was off limits,didn't she sue them last year?
The UK version of NE has Jake proposing and Reese saying no for now. In Touch has a bit about Ryan being relieved thatReese is making a life with Jake, relieved???
Jake and Reese spotted at that restuaraunt on 11/14, almost a year to the day of the on set Rendition pics made the rounds, Jake and his parents spotted having dinner over the weekend, the Huffington post blurb about them regarding Thanksgiving, the blurb in last weeks In Touch about them attending Mass. Nothing is a coincedence IMO, something is coming.

I think a couple who are painted in the tabloids as having being off more than on for just a year would be crazy to get married. Doesn't help when the groom has a bf either. That's Reese's next divorce lined up then.

In August didn't a tabloid say that Ryan was ranting about Jake being near his children because of BBM? Can't remember which one. Didn't believe that homophobic nonsense about Ryan then, and I'll put the "he's relieved" bit in the unproven bin also.
You gotta wonder what is the big rush with all of this? Why is it being played out in public so much? I wouldn't be surprised at anything - proposals, pregnancy, there's just something that isn't quite right with all of this. :)

All I know is that ever since that named sighting in NYC, the trolls and PR fixers have been on Code Orange alert. I don't know that we've ever seen so many posts on OMG and WFT from them. Why I wonder?
Just throwing it out there--
It is that time of year that many trolls to come to the table, just like kids who want to move from the kid table to the adult one. They sound so sweet and cooperative. Then when they get to the big table then comes the commotion, giving everyone indigestion because of their behavior and then leave a mess when then get up from the table.
Avoid this by being mindful in engaging trollish behavior. Who wants dessert after a troll burps all over the blog. No one.
CB: You haven't been around much have you? PR fixers?? No, just posters pretending to have inside knowledge. The tabloid blurbs concerning Jake and Reese all seemt to have a warm, fuzzy family feel to them and they are all coming out at the same time.

OT: This has nothing to do with Jake but it's kind of related. In Touch has a cover story on Tom Cruise, the truth about the gay rumors! LOL. Now, I haven't even read it yet but I'm QUITE SURE they don't out him. In fact, I'm betting the farm the article will be a validation of how hetero and manly Tom Cruise is. You don't need to be a genius to figure that one out. (I think Andrew Morton's book will be the "revelatory" bio).
But Cruise is gay and sleeps with men. I have a friend of mine who told me recently that Cruise has slept with a few of her pals. And this wasn't a long time ago and yes, they're men.

Again, ted did not see Jake in NYC, he said a source did. It was a made up sighting by a crazy fan, just as the baby stuff was, someone claiming to be an insider who is not.
Jake stayed in a hotel while in NYC, he had security and a driver.
He went out to eat a few times and much of it is documented on certain blogs that have nothing to do with the Jake G fan base.
Reese flew in on Wed night, met him at the hotel (there are also legit sources to this) they were seen in an elevator and then going into the same room the next day, she did the Today show that same morning. They fly to Rome from NYC and then back to LA together.
It's very simple, they have been dating in private for a very long time, they keep it as private as they could considering they are both actors and her ex is an actor.
Once she was legally divorced and the movie promotion was over they wanted to act like regular people.
Drive to and from places together, go on vacation, go out to eat together. It's a very settled situation and her children have adjusted to it as well as both their families and close friends.
The star is only writing about it now because they want to cash in on some of the money. They will be very careful what they write and don't expect them to be the first to announce a baby bump. Seems that they are going to press with something that was already out there, they know they won't be sued.
It's just not tainted as you would like it to be.
I started coming here when the Reeke Rome pics were out. Its because this blog is more open-minded. Anywhere else I went wanting to discuss the possibility of staging, and why, was met with strong resistance and "they're sooo in love" even tho Jake looked sooo in miserable. Mention the idea of it being a showmance on any other blog or site and they'll byte your gigas off.
The people on this blog are nicer and more open to ideas and thoughtful discussion. :)

Why shouldn't Ryan be relieved. He has known Jake for years, since they were kids. Of course he knows Jake is really gay, so this is a no brainer for him. The best kind of man for your ex wife to date.
I do believe PR may have switched blog monitor employees. After all, the other guy was not very effective. We're still here. So look for new writing styles to surface.
Austin media has a clip of Austin speaking. The man has a beautiful voice. I can imagine jake loves to hear his voice.

Glad you found us, and this of us as a place that you feel like you can come and chat. We try to respect each other, and do so ask that show respect and also give themselves a name.
Yes there are trolls and as you can see there are some with us now. But ignoring them is the best way of dealing with them. I know it is hard but they are just feast on attention. Not giving them attention is the best way to deal, I know not the easiest way, but the best way.
I know how hard is not to answer back guys...believe me I know. But just let the trolls be and they will grow weary and go back under the bridge.
I wouldnt be surprised if Reeke got married. :( Not for a love relationship but becaues it would give them each a safe haven for each of their separate lives. Along with the added star power in their professional ones. Id be disappointed tho, esp in Jake because Id think he would be stronger to stand up against the norm instead of playing their game. :(

Jake's father directed Ryan in a movie when he was in his late teens and Jake a had a bit in it. I'm sure their paths have crossed since then but Ryan was born and raised in Deleware, Jake in L.A. When they met they were hardly "kids".
And since Ryan is rumored to be with Abby Cornish and will be starring with her again in a movie, why would he be "relieved" that he is gay? Why should he care? Believe me Ryan could care less who his ex-wife dates.
I took that, if true that she finally and moved on to whatever and he can do what he wants now.

I remember that. I heard awhile back that Ted's sources were Austin and Jake's mutual friends who live in NY. I was surprised by the NY reference because I thought the friends were in LA.

SK, wrote her bit the day after the pics surfaced of him at the Letterman studio the next day, 10/16. Let's see, Wednesday night is when Ted and Cristina put their little column together, 10/17 for 10/18.

Don't reduce Jake's life to his relationship with just one person. The Jaustin fans here want to do that with Jake and Austin, and it doesn't work. The Reeke fans want to do the same with Jake and Reese, and it also doesn't work. Jake has been through a great over the past eight months, and that ordeal has involved many people (family, friends, colleagues, the press, fans, etc.) His life is a reflection of all of these relationships, not just two of them.
In fact, when you look at the direction of his life for the past eight months, it would have been a miracle if he didn't beard.

"My friend Ted" - I think not. If I thought Ted had completely made up that NY sighting I would hope he burns in a special corner of hell reserved for gossip columnists. If he didn't even check out the source I'll downgrade that to Purgatory. I'll allow him a bit of breatless sensationalism.
I'll assume the delay in receiving the sighting and printing it were in order to do some sort of check/verification. I don't think he would have printed the names otherwise. And no, I don't think any poster here sent it in.
You have to remember one thing that sets Ted apart from people like Perez, Just Jared, Dlisted. He is not an independent blogger he is a gossip columnist for a media outlet. So there is a hierarchy and chain of command for his article. He can't just throw stuff up there. He more than likely has to submit he column to the editor for review as well as to E! legal department before anything can be posted. It is reviewed and checked and questions raised about his column BEFORE it ever hits the net. Granted there are times that things slip through the cracks and he gets things wrong, the source is bad, etc. but every article and blind item has to go through the same process.
But Ted does have follow protocol, and is not a renegade blogger. And he has been in this business a long time. He knows how it is played. He wouldn't still be doing it if he wasn't a pro at it.
Umm, the sighting took place on a monday, 10/16 according to Ted's "source", so it happened after the taping of Letterman, which tapes at 5:30PM. So the "source" saw them later on that day/night and either e-mailed him the "sighting" right then or the morning of the 17th, the column went up 10/18 that evening to be posted for 10/19, that's quite a quick turnaround for something that needed to be vetted and checked by the E legal dept.
The way Ted/Cristina worded it there was no need to run it by legal because it was nothing more than a Gawker/Defamer like sighting and he knows it. And I stand by my opinion that they picked it up from here, the timefram is perfect and it wouldn't be the 1st time.
Even when he mentioned it again in the same week it was mostly to explain what he meant by "digital dancing" and that was probably because he must of been puzzled to why it wasn't being reported all over the net as per usual.
As for E! being owned by a media outlet, so is TMZ and that didn't stop them from running the trailer story. You could say that they checked to make sure it was true but we don't know for sure do we? Jake's people have a long history of not responding to stuff on the net, soemthing TMZ and E are well aware of.

Damn, I lost the battle. To suggest that that item was sourced here is BEYOND ridiculous. It's not even the same bloody information. Talking about a straw man/muddying the waters. Shame on you, Trolly. Well, I guess you've wasted a lot of time typing while the hydra-spectre of Jake's sexuality pokes up somewhere else online. Better hurry and try to cut it off. Just bear this in mind: whatever you do, whatever CAA does (and for all I know you might be the same entity), you will not be able to make Jake straight. Many couples breakup in hollywood and in the civilian world. How many people do you know are still with their first love? Sexuality is fluid, for some people. If Jake is happy, i'm happy.
We're arguing about the credibility of a sighting here with people who believe that Reese was hiding out in Jakes hotel room in NY even though there was photographic evidence of her being in LA at the time.
All based on one anon post on a picture post of Reeke after Rome, who "just remembered they had seen Reese sneak out of Jakes hotel room in NY a while ago".

No troll food, I thought that when one of you pimped the sigthing on the DL and was wondering why no one was talking about it.
I saw the post here on 10/16 about the pants. By the end of the week when I was on the DL his column popped up, dated 10/19. I figured out then, last month that he or most likely his intern saw it, noted that it was taken outside of the Letterman studio and he was on his way out.
The kicker? The need for Ted to add on after the fact the jean info which I thought was totally unecessary. So they wore jeans, so what? Most guys do.
Ted's source: The blogs, just ask his former buddies over at Defamer.
PS: Ted seems to print a lot a letters form you guys. And he always makes sure that he mentions TT and Jake at least once a week.

There was a person who blogged that they were staying at the same hotel as Reese & Jake in NYC and they were in the same elevator as them and saw them get off and enter the same room. Reese flew from LAX (there are photo of her leaving) and arrived at JFK late Wed night (also photo & video taken). Thursday morning she did the today show and that is the day the person saw them.
I'm not going to give the hotel up because these people deserve some privacy.
Those black pants Jake has on don't even have the same pocket types as Austin, try looking at some high quality shots. The glasses arent' the same, Jake's are bigger and have a brown tint.
Everyone is wearing white v-neck t-shirts in hollywood, are they all Jake's? the orange jackets are from a race they did with others as a cycling team, they each have their own jacket. The ring is not the same and you know it. Jake wool hat (which almost every male I know has a version of, including my boyfriend) is black, Austin's is blue. As for the cap, it was from an event in S.Dakota, a biking event and it could very well be Jake's hat, who knows or perhaps they both rec'd the same promo hat.
I feel for you I really do, but Jake & Austin are not a couple and Reese & Jake are and it's not for PR.

I can't quite determine what motivates you as trolls but each time one of your rebuttles pops up I disbelieve Reeke even more.
However, one thing I do agree with Trolly is that the blue trousers aren't the same. Austin, as we all know, is greyhound thin with hips that could pass through a needle, while Jake appears to a little more chunky. I can't imagine Jake could get a pair of Austin's trousers past his thighs, however much he might try.
Also, with regard to the biking jackets. Even if they do both have one, isn't it endearing that Jake paraded around NY in his during the time when they may has supposedly broken up (post Lakers 2). Its like a cry from the heart which obviously had the desired effect.

Someone once said on another blog that posting on there wasn't a right and that's true.
When you go to work there are rules to follow, when you go into a restaurant you can't jump up and down and start abusing people. If you do, you are going to get thrown out. As it should be.
The internet shouldn't be any different. It's not about what these people are posting. It's that they are not following a rule that this blog has set down and continues to set down at the beginning of every post.
That post on every thread becomes ineffectual if you never actually do anything about it.
These people want to make a point otherwise they wouldn't be here. If you get rid of any anonymous posts and they want to be heard, they'll select a name the next time.
Regarding Tom Cruise. I am not a fan of people being outed, even when there is hypocrisy involved.
But such a big name star being outed is probably what is needed right now.

Even if they gloss over the sexuality stuff, I still think the book will be a good thing because it will still contain a lot of information about how HW deals with and hides things - every fangirl out there should be made to read it.

For the longest time I have thought using Reese as the beard was a foolish PR mistake. But after hearing the proposal rumors, I realize it's actually been a brilliant strategy. 1. Being in the middle of a divorce gave J&R an excellent excuse to actually be together and seen only rarely - just often enough to establish the possiblity of a romance. 2. Throw in 6 weeks of PDA for show when the divorce is final, just the bare minimum needed to diffuse Jake is gay rumors. Money changes hands. 3. Now, end it with a rejected proposal as it's too soon for a new marriage. Jake is left either broken-hearted or pining for Reese. Now he has a good reason not to pursue any women for another year or two. This worked after he and Kirsten broke up. It was at least a year before that excuse started to wear thin and the gay rumors picked up speed. Otherwise he would have to keep dating new women. Brilliant, I say.

I agree wholeheartedly with ag that the time has probably come to start deleting anon posts, and without warning. OMG is now well-established and your simple rule of posting with a name has been with this blog from day one; it ought to be understood. There may be the odd, well-meaning newcomer that will have to learn this the hard way, but if they want to be a part of any discussion, they'll know what to do on their next post. Wicked and Special, you've been more than patient and accommodating so far and I admire the way you've handled it so far, but you shouldn't have to spend extra time writing the reminders.
As for named troll posts, I don't know if you'd want to get in the business of assessing them one by one for deletion; certainly having an identity doesn't preclude personal attacks or viciousness. But I think deleting anons, no questions asked, would be a start. You have my support. :)

i hate to admit it but I actually went semi out of my way (in the pouring rain) to look at the NE proposal article this evening (well I had to get some food and the supermarket was on my way home).
The headline is particularly funny because in big letters it has 'Jake proposes to Reese' followed by really small letter saying 'so sources say'.
Although you shouldn't be, I'm embarassed for Jake that this rubbish is even being printed. I know he's probably in on it, but I now think he's maybe not the brightest button in the box and doesn't quite understand how his reputation is being destroyed by this crap. Austin needs to get back from Uruguay pronto to put the boy straight (so to speak).

I apologize to those whose comments I've overlooked.
Here's my take on this subject:
Put an official, dated post warning that anon posts and posts which are disrespectful of the blog's mission will be deleted; add this warning to the "permanent" OMG posts (along with the mission statement or the existing tips). You could refer to this statement once in a while for the benefit of newbies.
I've noticed that some trolls have started to use the "Other" option freely - some even using the same name regularly - and to infest OMG. I'd hate to see this blog go down the way WFT has. So my gut reaction is right along that of Who's that: delete all the nasty trollish posts.
You girls are veteran Tbs so you can pinpoint those right away. Those people who constantly come back to tell us that Ted is a complete fraud and full of it; that we're totally delusional; that they're "extremely disappointed" to see how "awful" OMG has become ("it was so great before; it's so nasty and hateful now"; "I wanted to be part of that community but it's become so negative"; "there used to be some very interesting discussions but now you've become as shallow and bitter as WFT"), or best of all the "face-it-they're-together" posts accompanied with details of Jeese sightings, dates et al, etc., etc., etc.
I've come to loathe these comments, particularly when they adopt that unmistakable sanctimonious tone. There are enough Jake-can-do-no-wrong, pro-Jeese or "deeper" boards out there for these people to happily post to their heart's content and share with like-minded posters. Why are they hanging over here if we're so bad? (rhetorical question, of course). To each his/her own favorite blogs/forums and fellow posters and everybody will be happy, that's my philosophy.
Now Special and Wicked you know I'm not demanding anything, just putting out my gut feelings which, as you can see, are those of a tb who's been burned in the past and who feels that given the current events OMG is more vulnerable than ever. You're both constantly visible and heard on the threads which is a tremendous, tremendous plus IMO. I would wholeheartedly support your decision if you told us that such a level of watchfulness is impossible or would simply take out the fun of running OMG.

OT: Just came back from seeing "I'm Not There." Girls, I'm glad I'm a Dylan fan and know quite a bit about his life otherwise I would have been confused. It's a VERY arty film but masterfully directed. Cate Blanchett is AWESOME and Heath is SEXY (oh my!!)--even though he plays a jerk (but a sexy jerk).
And the actress who plays Heath's wife--Charlotte Gainsbourgh is excellent.

Frenchy I totally agree with your post @10:31 about deleting trollish posts. I think simply enforcing the use of a name solves very little. It has appeared obvious to me that some posters have taken up different names and posted away their trollish messages one after the other, so it really makes no diffence to me whether they picked up a name or posted anon. I think in the long term it would be the most effective way to discourage trolls. JMO.
Just catching up on the posts, I've been busy cooking and running around. Love the photo montage special. On the troll issue, while I normally don't like the idea of censoring people, I agree that I don't want to see this place become infested. People seem like they are making more of an effort to ignore them, so once possibility is to give that a bit of time to see if it works.
I agree with your assessment of I'm Not There BFW. I also just wanted to address your question in the previous thread about chat. I've been busier than usual, but also, people who pop in should stick around a bit if no one else is there--after FNL I just missed you by a minute BWF.
