When aholic's - collide.

For the official poster peek of Prince of Persia Jake you got spend. Bruckheimier is betting that fans of Confession of a Shopaholic are Gyllenhaalics too, putting the first official poster in the movies staring Isla Fisher. Look for the ad in a scene in Times Square. Talk about cross promotion.

What really interesting is Bruck's first marketing for the movie is targeted not toward gamers, but to the female audience 18 -35, something not seen done before in summer action adventure blockbusters. Does this and the choice of Mike Newell as director tell us more about PoP? Does Bruckheimer hope that he has the same success with PoP as he did with Pirates, by putting handsome but not traditional action star (was Depp? was Bloom?) in the title and capture the ladies this time too? Guess we will have to wait and see.

I find ET video 10 times more interesting than movie poster with Jake in "full-costume as Prince Dastan".

If Bruck wants that audience then Reese and Reeke will have to disappear and the allure of single gay/bi Jake will have to be put back in.

On the COAS age group I think its younger they need to attract. I can only see 12-27 tops wanting to see it.

I saw the trailer for COAS and.. yuck. Its that "Blonde" movie in 2009. The one Reese was in, I can't even remember the name of it it was so bad. The COAS actress has the same sqeaky voice as Reese, the lettering on the title is the same cutsie pink, the line the actress spoke had the same emphsis in her lines. It looks formula. Is HW/Bruck so starved on ideas that they can't come up with anything better? Or is Bruck in love with Reese and thinks everyone else is too?

When I heard the trailer for COAS the actresse's voice made me cringe. I will never see that crap.

Looks like the PoP billboard won't be the only one in Shopaholic. OMFG pairing PoP with gerbil spys LOL.

and also reports that the movie's version of Times Square will feature artwork from G-Force, the movie about spy gerbils.

Totally agree Attraction Sells.

I was flipping through the rags while in line at the drugstore. The Star had an article about how Jake is allegedly selling his house and that heck, he doesn't need it anymore because he spends all his time over at Reese's. Anyway, it said his house has 3 bedrooms. If he is selling his house, more likely it is because he needs more room and/or more privacy. Three bedrooms is kind of small if you have a baby and probably a live-in nanny. Plus houses in the HW Hills don't usually have much in the way of yards.

I just watched Prayers for Bobby. I thought it was very good, and Austin was lovely...

From Austin Nichol Fan

Austin's reoccurring role on the CW's One Tree Hill, has been extended! I'm being told as of now (end of January) Austin still has about 10 episodes to go as of now. So maybe if fans continue to accept him and want him around, he'll be come a regular, if the show is picked up for another season. So keep supporting him and keep watching the show.

Gamer sites are saying "watch chickflick, get to see PoP poster halfway thru" and gamers are saying "I don't want to see it that bad".

Hasn't Jake already purchased a new home? A bigger one with 5 bedrooms or so?

destiny said...

That's great news about OTH!

Hi Joker and Press Now.

Haven't heard anything recently about Jake buying another house, other than the convulated argument made here recently by someone insisting that Jake supposedly put his money from the sale of his home into Reese's home in Ojai.

That poster was trolling. He/she knew nothing about any transactions. If Jake's house is listed Star would be a fairly reliable source. I'm betting he is selling and buying the house the parents are trying to sell. It is gorgeous.

destiny said...

I don't think of the Star as a reliable source, although something like a house being up for sale seems like something they could easily fact check, if they were so inclined. Or they could just be spouting more pr bs.

But it's possible Jake is selling his house. And interesting theory about buying his parent's house.

Bad move to buy his parents house. Is he going to pay what they want or what the current market price is? That means he would be subsidizing his parents, or at least his mom as his dad doesn't seem to want to live off of his kids. I guess it could be a way of getting your parents out of hock but I can't see it making life better for anyone involved.

I was certain that there was noise of Jake buying a bigger 5 bedroom house some time last year.

There maybe a real need for 5 bedrooms now. ; )

I wonder what Shopaholic director Hogan thinks of all this? Essentially, his film has been hijacked and had advertising rammed right into the middle of it.

Yeah, isn't there a 2nd baby tile now. Realestalker is a dependable source for famous homes for sale. He had Jake's home when he bought it in the first place. The London talk when he needed a home with a private entrance through the garage said it all. Absolutely no need to hide Reese and her kids. He needs to hide Austin and the babies.

the internet is where most of the people who care about Prince of Persia live, not the auditorium of a romantic comedy about buying shoes.

(Hasn't Jake already purchased a new home? A bigger one with 5 bedrooms or so?)

Yes. It's because his family is getting larger. Deacon, little Reese, the 2 dogs and a little Jeese on the way. Didn't you Know? Everyone in Hollywood knows.

The romantic comedy audience is Reese's audience. I think that Bruckheimer's marketing plan to release the POP poster in a chick flick movie shows that it goes along with the same PR goal that was manufacturing Reeke. The objective is to sell POP (Jake as a leading man) to the public who are buying and consuming Reeke's PR marketing campaign (tabloid readers/romantic comedies audience).

Thank you HW Insider for saying that! I finally got a very much needed laugh on a bad Monday.

I'm sure Bruckheimer would use any of his movies to promote his future projects.
He certainly didn't produce this silly romcom in order to promote Reeke 16 months before the PoP release date.

Speciallll!! Special, are you back amongst the living now? Are you feeling better? I like how you cropped that first picture. I wish they had left Jake's stomach and trail alone. There was no need for alteration there, I didn't think. Big mistake hiding the trail, in my estimation, lol.

Nothing new going on today. Burnt my popcorn at work today. Stunk up the whole office. Don't you hate that? This time the culprit was me; very embarrassing.

Well, just wanted to pop in & say hi. I am enjoying a few episodes of my Jonny Quest - Season 1 dvd. Did anybody ever used to watch that? Tom, I bet you did. Remember Bandit, the dog? He is so cute. And everytime I see the name of where Reese has her home, Ouiji or whatever, I also think of Hadji. And what really was the relationship between Dr. Quest and Race Bannon, lol? Hmmmmmm....that's what I wonder.

Yes, Pirates was a success, a f'king huge success, because of Misters Depp and Bloom, but they alone did not make the movie box office gold. There was a coherent plot, a witty script, and a host of other supporting players that ALL combined to raise it above the run-of-the-mill action flick.

Please remember that Bloom tried to capitalize on his POTC and LOTR visability in both "Kingdom of Heaven" and "Elizabethtown", the former also an action type flick, and neither made it out of the cellar. And even the incomprable Mr. Depp has failed several times to hit the big BO numbers with some of his movies. A specific actor is no longer a guarentee of a blockbuster.

Sure, the opening weekend might be big for PoP - though I'm predicting not as big as the studio suits will wish for - but it's a movie longevity, it's repeat goers that places it on the hit list. If the movie is marginal in any of the areas mentioned in the first paragraph of this diatribe, then, regardless of any PR blitz of any kind, it will sink.

If Bruckheimer et al are counting on Reeke to pull in that much slobbered over "Titanic" demographic, and with this new Shopaholic stunt that's what it looks like, then they most likely will be in for a surprise. How many years will have passed before it opens? The tweens of Pop Sugar today, won't be in 2010. They grow up, they move on to the next shiny object, attention spans very limited. And, dollars to doughnuts by then, what fans Jake has now will be long gone. Also, Reese ain't getting any younger. Even if they were to marry, have a passel of kids, they would still be yesterday's news when the teen sensation just waiting in the wings hits the news stands. Case in point - "Twilight" and Robert Patterson.

There is one thing that could still grab headlines for PoP, though, something that would have the internet a buzz for mahy a day - if Jake were to come out. Think of the publicity circus surrounding that!

There are no teens or tweens on popsugar unless their moms are pointing something out to them. ONTD has them all accounted for. Other then that they spend all their time gossiping about each other on myspace and facebook.

Kirsten Dunst is the latest Hollywood starlet to succumb to the feminine wiles of the fairer sex, after she was spotted making out with a mystery gal pal in a car outside LAX.

Pals of the 26-year-old actress say she hit the switch and made a play for the ladies after a string of lacklustre romances with guys like Jake Gyllenhaal and Johnny Borrell left her feeling cold.

But it seems as if Kirsten isn't a one-woman girl, stepping off her plane in New York straight into the arms of another lucky lass.

"When Kirsten landed in New York, she was met by another new 'gal-pal'," says the insider.

There's a very interesting article about how people at imdb essentially gay bashed Milk after it got nomiated for awards; the article also talks about how that happened with BBM, something I don't recall reading before.

Distressing to hear the nasty comments re Milk. I guess I'm not surpised given that Mall Cop is #1 the last 2 weeks in a row. Lots of movie goers have no taste at all. I noticed even with Dark Knight some people did not like it. I think it was like 5000 loved it on IMDB and 12 hated it so you know there are always a few that feel different.

Prairie Girl, I hate to bring up slash since not everyone here reads it, but are you reading Long Strange Trip. Its new and pretty good.

Oh, man I sure hope Austin's role is continued. Maybe Jake will move to North Carolina, come out and leave it all behind.

"According to Bruckheimer, it was his idea to cross promote. He told website Latino Review, "It's funny because I was watching the movie and we had ads for other films and I said, 'Why don't we put our own movies in here.' It's kind of silly to promote someone else's movies." The Prince of Persia bit was CGI'd in about two weeks ago the producer revealed."

There's a very interesting article about how people at imdb essentially gay bashed Milk

There always will be narrow minded people in society. It's only through education and making people aware, that we can change their perceptions of the gay community. So I hope the gay films keep coming and good actors are willing to take on these projects. If America can elect an African American President in spite of the racial problems that exists there, I believe anything can be achieved given time because most people are decent people who are open minded and willing to listen and learn.

It was a crying shame what happened to BBM. I hope "Milk" does better, although I have to admit "Slumdog Millionaire" is a very, very, good movie.
