Do make passes at....

....a boy who wears glasses.

There is no confirmation about Jake on SNL yet. But it is confirmed on Jimmy Kimmel Live that Jake and Honor Society will be on his December 3rd show. Jake's never done Jimmy's show before, but maybe he knows someone who he can have a little tet a tet with, oh wait back to Jimmy Kimmel.

Now we've always known but only seen Jake fake it for the cameras.

But now we are getting truth.

Kate at WDW had a great find yesterday, Jake's new ad for New Eyes for the Needy, that features Jake with his own glasses. (Congrats Kate!)
I’ve had really poor vision ever since I was a little kid — my mom first took me to the doctor because I was smacking into walls — and every time my prescription changed, we gave my old glasses to New Eyes. So when I started looking for a cause that I had a strong, visceral connection to, I thought of it and wanted to help bring awareness to its work. New Eyes sends donated prescription glasses to underdeveloped countries, and in the U.S. it distributes vouchers to patients for a free checkup and free glasses. There are so many people who have bad vision and don’t know it. I’ve seen kids who were on the verge of failing out of school who got glasses from New Eyes and their lives changed. It made me think, What if, when I was young, my parents hadn’t been able to afford my glasses? What would my life have been? Thankfully, my eyesight is something that I can take for granted. I want to try and help other people take theirs for granted as well.

Jake's talked about his vision before, and we've known he's a long time contact wearer, from the looks of his lenses in this ad he tell no tall tales about needing glasses. Check out the edges of of those lenses just inside the frame, he's got some thick lenses, even when they're thinned out. (Hey what can I say fellow glasses geek here who only gets past the big E on the chart and then it becomes a squint and guessing game)

Must admit I have a weakness for boys in glasses, so if he dropped those specs down, there would be a whole lot of swoonage here. Can only imagine bedhead, glasses, and a crossword puzzle .... whoamama

A tiny bit Clark Kent and alot James Dean, classic frames that will never go out of style. Jake's looking good and doing something good at the same time.

Everyone can help bring the gift of vision to others, for some of us it could be donating an old pair of our glasses to be passed on and recycled for someone else, for other it could be giving a donation in gratitude for the good vision they have naturally.

Nice to see Jake doing something that he clearly has a personal connection to. Too bad they didn't use a shot of him with his glasses actually on, that would be fun to see.

That's what I thought, too, Destiny.
I really would have loved to see him wearing his own glasses.

Jake in his glasses could do anyone in. Austin with the grin and charm might have met their match with the charming man in his specs. You know he has to use them to flirt, come on we all have.

Looking at the HQ pictures of Jake sometimes you can see his contacts. And he doesn't wear the soft lens kind. Wearing contacts the Dr.'s tell you to wear sunglasses as much as possible. (Also really everyone should to prevent macular degeneration), I do wonder id he has at least one pair of percription sunglasses to give his eyes a rest from wearing his contacts so much.

Love and Other Drugs going back to school for a couple of days.

CARROLL TOWNSHIP - Ringgold High School is playing host to a movie crew today as filming for a motion picture takes place on the Mon/Fayette Expressway.

The toll road is being used for a shot in the film "Love and Other Drugs," which stars Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal. Oliver Platt and Hank Azaria also are in the film.

Ringgold Superintendent Gary Hamilton said that he was approached earlier by Shawn Boyachek, a representative for the movie maker, about allowing the crew and stars to use a portion of the Ringgold campus while the movie segment is being shot.

"They set up Sunday and they are filming today, so they will be gone after that," Hamilton said. "They are making a donation to the district. Really nice people."

This television star has gained a lot of weight over the past couple of years. Because this has been an ongoing issue, s/he has started seeing a therapist to get to the root of the problem. It turns out that the star’s hypocrisy in living one life in public – and a different one in private – creates anxiety and depression which, in turn, trigger binge eating.

According to the therapist, the issue will not be resolved until our star comes out of the closet. The star is actually considering it, but is worried about the timing of the announcement, and its potential career and financial impact. Will their career wither? Will their finances suffer? While we don’t know for sure, we do know that a competitor who has done so is thriving in a similar career. (Blind Gossip)

So Jake has been in two war movies, Jarhead & now brothers.
Both times he represented the heartbreak and trama that war can and does do to you mind and heart and now with brothers your family.

??Has Jake ever taken a trip to visit our troops? has he been part of the USO or another organization which shows support for those men in which his characters are direct results of?? Isn't Brothers the perfect movie to do this sort of think, wouldn't it have been fitting for the 3 stars of the movie to head over to see our fine men & woman with whom they get the material from for their movie?

Well Austin is making the trip in support of our troops this week.

I have posted at least 3 times about Austin heading to the Germany and Turkey for the USO tour. As well as giving a history of the the USO on Vettrans Day.

Thank you for the link for the poster.

Really nice post today, Special; I enjoyed it, as a contact lense/spectacle wearer as well! That new picture of Jake raising his glasses on his head is darn hot. You know that he knows how good he looks there, darn him. All I can say is I hope Austin is the one who gets to see that across from the dining table.

I had heard that he wore glasses but I have to say that I always doubted it because he never, ever is seen wearing them. I mean, how do his eyes take it? I wear Oasys lenses as well as use that OptiFree Retain Moisture solution and the combo of that has made a world of difference. My eyes get dry easily so if there's a vent blowing on me, watch out!

Yes, you indeed had already posted about the USO tour, Special, lol.

I think someone is wanting to point out that someone is going to be over there with someone else. Together.

Note already taken.

Austin looks really good in the USO Poster, trying to figure out which picture they used for it.

Still wondering if Jake has ever taken a trip to show support for our troops?

Think it so interesting that some b-list TV show actors can give up their time and holiday to show support to the USO..

Yet
A-list stars Jake, Toby & Natalie are opening a movie that weekend which focuses on the effects of war on a man and his family..
But the won't be doing any USO events which would be a perfect way to show support for the soldiers and the message of their film.

That's a good point, passing by.

Boy, I used to love those Bob Hope specials that he would do overseas. I have a video of those highlights. They are hilarious.

Having worn hard contacts for years, I'll confirm that you have to take them out to give the eyes a rest, every day, and the eyes would be super sensitive to the bright light in CA. On the other hand, if Jake wears soft lenses, he probably only takes them out to sleep. After I switched to soft lenses, I would not be caught dead in glasses. I keep a 10 year old pair around, in case of emergency. I'm guessing he has had some laser work done.

I may have to breakdown and get a twitter account. Neal Patrick Harris is now twittering and his comments have been reprinted on various websites. He's hilarious. He has that sly humor that I love.

LOL, oh oh NPH is hooked. That's funny. I would just have to type everything out, though. Or is that what they're saying? That you only have so many characters you can use in a tweet? I'm clueless on that stuff.

Sipping coffee and reading his responses. LOL.

That's your boy, ng!

Got a breakfast casserole finishing in the oven. I woke up at 3:45, 1/2 hr early because I think in the back of my mind I knew that I needed to get up to take that casserole out of the fridge so it wouldn't be so cold when I put it in the oven. Good grief.

This recipe has croutons on the bottom. I wanted to try garlic ones, but I wasn't sure how that would affect the taste so I'll have to save for another time. It has croutons on the bottom, then sausage, eggs & cheese on top of that. You refrigerate it. Then in the morning, you mix cream of mushroom soup w/milk, pour that on top. Then put on thawed hash brown potatoes, and then more cheese!! Yay, cheese! Is this thing a load or what? I'll probably get a hernia lifting it out of the oven.

I hope everyone likes it. We're celebrating BB's b-day. That's Big Boss to us. I know she loves these breakfast casseroles so that's what I chose to bring.

I hope everyone has a good day today. Got one more night of dogsitting light duty and then I'll be done. I'm leaving for the annual trip to Osage Beach this weekend and all the holiday open houses. That is always a great time.
