Cheese Boy

What would you think if you were compared to cheese. Sometimes it's good thing, like being The Big Cheese. But a softie maybe not?

From the LA Times:
"Cheeses whose creamy centers give like a soft-serve cone on a hot day will always have dates to the cheese prom. The spreadable, sweet demeanor of crèmes leads to instant popularity, and their snowy rinds and plush interiors make them some of the best-looking wheels around. But even cheeses made of pure decadence and cream, whose presence can elicit sighs like Jake Gyllenhaal appearing shirtless in the "Prince of Persia," can bore. Talk to a cheesemonger who has been sampling Brillat Savarin or Fromage D'Affinois to customers for years, and you'll likely be met with a resigned sigh or shrug of the shoulders.

Well Jake and cheese do go way back.

(yup that is Jakey in the "trailer" for This is Spinal Tap)

Look how he rolls!

Jake - double or triple creme? Is he soft and creamy?

And Mr Nichols?

A Dutch Edam?

Or good ole' Longhorn?

And with those noggins it's a toss up who is The Stinky Cheese Man. But that bacon grin might be the deciding factor. (An who's head is more Gorgonzola?) "Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm The Stinky Cheese Man!"

Soon you will be like Cheese Boy: melty, melty, melty! (Artie The Stongest Man in the World - The Adventure of Pete & Pete)

Good thing Jake and Bear got that Icelandic adventure in before the eruption from a bigger Volcano about 125 miles away from the capital, and getting ash.

Hmm wonder if the Cheese boys would take inspiration from Bringing Down the House.

Howie Rottman: I'd like to dip you in Cheez Wiz and spread you all over a Ritz cracker, if I'm not being too subtle.

Charlene Morton: Boy, you some kinda freaky!

Howie Rottman: Oh, you have no idea. You got me straight trippin', boo!

These guys are pathetic - all of them, pathetic with a capital P.

Timberlake, Leo, Jake, Austin, Orlando and Brad Cooper. Every single one of them. All of them controlled by puppet strings.

There comes a time when I just can't and will not feel sorry for them anymore.

You know Hollywood is in another century when even Focus on the Family can see the writing on the wall.

"What about same-sex marriage? We're losing on that one, especially among the 20- and 30-somethings: 65 to 70 percent of them favor same-sex marriage. I don't know if that's going to change with a little more age—demographers would say probably not. We've probably lost that. I don't want to be extremist here, but I think we need to start calculating where we are in the culture.

The times they are a changin’

I'm convinced, more than ever before, that this tired old argument that A-list actors can't come out because female fans won't be able to fantacize being with them is hogwash and insulting. It's all about corporate power and control. Actors like to consider themselves artists, but to be a true creator, takes courage, honesty and vision.

After all, the person who is most powerful has power over himself. Or as Nietzsche wrote: The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently."

I can't believe that Focus on the Family is admitting that, bet they're going to take a lot of flack for it.

Tom, did you see that Steve Nash did a video for NY Marriage Equality? For those who don't know, he's a basketball player on the Phoenix Suns. I love it that the Suns are so gay-firendly when they're in the middle of Arizona.

Talking about conservative Arizona. Not sure if how many people have seen this story, of the gay couple who have adopted 12 children despite the all the efforts in AZ legislation to block single gays and lesbians and same sex couples from adopting.

"Since 1997, conservative Arizona lawmakers have introduced a half-dozen bills that would keep single people, including gays and lesbians, from becoming foster parents or adopting children in the state's care, or would move married couples to the top of the waiting list for adoptions. Those attempts - one as recent as last year - failed to muster enough votes. But this year was different. On April 18, Gov. Jan Brewer signed a bill that gives preference to married couples in state and private adoptions, all other criteria being equal. Yet, in 2009, the governor gave Steven and Roger Ham an award for their efforts at keeping siblings in foster care together through adoption."

Idle hands are the devil's work, isn't that how that saying goes?

Jake was at Henrys Public on Saturday night too. It's in Cobble Hill.

Henry Public

After it was in the Daily News this morning, makes me take that one with a shaker of salt.

I wonder if he got the Adam Sandler film, which isn't on that list, that I can see.

Special K said...

He might have gotten it Dest, that's what I was thinking.

Maybe they don't have the shoot schedule for it.

I wonder where Austin is shooting.

Again Austin is filming, Jake isn't working. They keep it to a minimum of both of the shooting at the same time.

Update from Joplin:

My Sister in law's parent's home had only some minor damage, they are about 4 blocks from the Wal-mart that was flattened. Her brother's house outside of Joplin is fine, but the company he worked for is completely destroyed. They were all at church last night when it hit. They crouched down in the hallways when it hit. The church had minor damage.

There is no electricity in Joplin, her parents have a generator for the house, but there is no power to pump gas. So the challenge is to find gas, food, water in addition to helping all those displaced and hurt. Cell phone signals are still spotty.

One of the saddest things, is that residents from a nursing home near the hospital that was hit, have not been accounted for.

Special , I'm glad to hear that your family is ok. So many natural disasters lately, or more timely reporting of them via cell phone.

Jake is so young in that clip. I recall seeing it once before but seeing it again have to wonder how he came to be in that.

Christopher Guest is Spinal Tap, and he is married to Jamie Lee Curtis, who happens to be ... Jake's godmother. : )

Another comedian who's known Jake for years is Martin Short who used to live next door to the G's.

Oh, now that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

Dear Ted:
With all the recent breakups and would-be rocky Hollywood relationships, I have brought it upon myself to start just giving these broken-up celeb's some rebound fun. Let's first start with Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron. I think Vanessa should date Liam Hemsworth and break up with Miley Cyrus so Miley can date Zac. Those would be equally hot couples. Next would be Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar. I think Jake Gyllenhaal should date Bar. Leo can go date some other guy, for all I care about him. Justin Timberlake is a no brainer. He needs to hook up with Mila Kunis. How do you like my new pairs?
—Jen

Dear Brilliant:
Adore every single suggestion, except the first two! You need to flop that one, baby: Liam and Zac need to be dating each other, as do Miley and Vanessa. What a sizzling, summer scandal!
