Mulitple Choice

Jake had a busy morning yesterday.

First up a haircut.

Not much to cut but all the same he got it ship shape.

He and Austin both got it taken off the sides.
Now it's just losing the beards.

Next up for Jake lunch at the L'Ermitage in Beverly Hills.Link
Looks like it's was a business kind of lunch meeting. But it was a place that cuisine wise
is right up Jake's alley.

Displaying an ardor for French and California cuisine, The Restaurant at L’Ermitage Beverly Hills piques the palate with tantalizing new combinations of time-honored flavors. Sourced from area farmer’s markets and local farms, the seasonal and specialty items come together in unexpected preparations to produce extraordinary flavors, while the vitrines allow guests to view a vast, expertly chosen collection of vintage and reserve wines.

Making sure to tip the valet.

And his other hand? Double cell phones.

Who'da thunk? ; )

Looks like multiples runs in the family.

Cars

Candy

Phones

And speaking of the big black family truckster, those windows are so dark it looks like they are solid steel like the rest of the car door.

Looks like there was more to do yesterday too, with a trip to the Medical Offices in Beverly Hills too.

Now you see it.

Now you don't.
Makes you wonder who's texting him.

Update 2: More pictures from Jake's Big Day of Out and About this time with his not so full gym bag.

There's a 70's kind of vibe between the belt buckle and the hemp bracelet.

How close was the pap who got this. Check out the perspective.

Entertainment Weekly gave Beautiful Boy a pretty good review. Giving it a B-.

We've all seen agony-of-grief movies about parents who lose a child. But how do you even begin to dramatize the hellish turmoil of parents whose college-freshman son becomes a school shooter? Michael Sheen and Maria Bello both have wrenching moments in this quiet, oblique drama. Yet the movie isn't really convincing. It makes the son's rampage so out of the blue that when the parents ask, ''Is there anything we could have done?'' the only response the film allows us is a simplistic ''No.''

Man, I think we probably wore m out yesterday!! What an awesome time we had. m is a wonderful cook serving up this egg/mushroom dish; her and her hubby were the most gracious of hosts and did we all do some yakkin'!

We yakked and then yakked some more. Then took a great tour of an area mall that had a number of my favorite stores.

And then m introduced us to a place that had great garlic fries and I had my first fish taco!!!

I was kinda "coaxed" into it and a bit of pouting was done, but it was great!! Loved it.

The guys would be happy to know that the evening was capped off with the 1st Official Jaustin California Filmfest.

We started it off with The Informers which neither M&M nor I had seen yet. I think Austin was great in it. He plays a snark very well. I looked forward to every scene he was in.

But the movie was a bit complicated to follow because they kept switching from character to character and some of the characters were only seen once or twice, never to be seen again. And the ending was crazy.

But I thought Austin was really good in it and I would love to see him play more characters like that.

Then we watched Brokeback. And the girls insisted on watching it in its entirety. Me, I FF over the divorce postcard scene and the Lureen/Alma parts. But oh no, they had to watch every single excruciatingly sad detail. lol

Tears were shed and oh man, that movie is just as beautiful today as it was the very first time I saw it, if not more.

prairiegirl said...

oh Jack. LOL!

I love you, buddy. You're somethin' else.

prairiegirl said...

Might I add an additional note on the Informers that we all were questioning why we couldn't get at least a RearView Monty shot of Austin. We saw everyone else's globes but all we got from Austie was the Half Crescent Moon.

What the hell!!

He is beautiful in that movie. Good job, Austie!!!

Austin was good in The Informers, I also liked Amber Heard. But that movie is one big hot mess.

I don't think the review of Beautiful Boy is that good; the fact that they say it isn't convincing and simplistic at times is enough to give me pause.

Here are a couple more reviews of the film when Beautiful Boy premiered at TIFF.

Reel Film

Twitch Film

The one stand out that keeps coming up in the reviews is Mario Bello. I think she is a great actress, and really want to see it for her performance.

Michael Sheen was on VH1's morning show and talking about his other movie he is in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris. He does audio books, as well was in of course Twilight, so they had him read Twilight slash fanfic from fanfiction.net. Done with conviction it was definitely a moment.

I think Jake is the Wells Fargo man in that last picture, Special. On his way to the bank. LOL.

I do need to point something out for all of us to remember, though, as a member of pne of our Safety teams at work.

I notice that Jake a lot of times carries his keys on a long loop, whether it be nylon or leather or whatever. So I figure it's to wear around the neck, right? Except he never has them around his neck; he carries them all the time in his hand.

So why the long loop? I don't get it. And I'm not picking on it, it just needs to be pointed out as a safety risk especially looking at the way he carries it with the loop end always hanging out like that.

That long cord is just asking to be caught in a door, a doorknob, on a chair, any kind of vehicle door. It really is very unsafe.

Even if it didn't ever get caught in a door, it could simply get caught on a doorknob, a post on a stand, etc. and jerk him back, straining something.

I'm afraid I would have to write Jake up on a safety observation for an at-risk behavior.

:(

Be safe, Jake, be safe, buddy. You have little ones counting on you; don't need a shoulder in a sling.

I had to make a correction in my original comment, lol and so then I have a typeo.

The Informers had a lot of stars in it, too. But it was everywhere with so many characters. I'm glad we had the opportunity to see it.

thanks, m!!!

Sheen reading fanfic? That sounds like fun. I will certainly check out other reviews of the movie, especially from the big papers when they come out.

Isn't this something.

From contactmusic.com:

Sophia Bush Slams Tennessee Lawmakers Over Gay Rights

Actress Sophia Bush has spoken out against lawmakers in Tennessee over controversial new legislation which would ban school teachers and young students from discussing gay issues.

The One Tree Hill star, who is a keen gay rights activist, is fuming about a bill which was passed in the state last week (ends 22May11), which if made law, would forbid the discussion of same-sex relationships in early school years.

Bush has taken to her Twitter account to blast officials in the state for putting forward the proposal, writing in a series of posts on the social networking site, "Tennessee has banned the word 'gay' or any discussion of homosexuality from schools. So what are the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) kids gonna to do? Feel more alone?...I am sickened that we live in a world where such blatant hate can become law.

"Teachers/students/parents stand up & fight for what is right!...I am so sick of the intolerance; it makes me want to punch someone... I'd love to take all of my gay best friends to the TN legislature for a chat. Look them in the eye & then try saying they're not equal."

PG is right about me being worn out. I slept until 10:00am today and then spent about 2 hrs getting caught up on the web as I was a bit behind. Slow news days fortunately. A good time was had by all and they brought me the most beautiful flowers from the market. Spectacular quality and arrangement. I am not sure how I came to own a copy of The Informers, considering what a crappy movie it was. A tribute to Austin I guess.

Jake seems to be wearing the same clothes for days again. Isn't that the blue shirt he wore throughout SC promos.

Go Sophia. Now if you would only stop participating in lies which also make things difficult for gay kids. Your relationship with Austin is saying Gay is not ok.

destiny said...

I don't know whether to laugh or shake my head.

Florida Tom said...

Do u think Jake will go with her to Tennessee Destiny? LOL!

I am surprised Jake isn't suing over that picture of him shaking hands with Anderson Cooper. Considering the rumors about Anderson that could be defamation of character

destiny said...

Or Austin Tom.

Seems to me a lot of people in HW let HW prevent them from saying they're gay, so really, someone like Sophia, who actively participates in that behavior, is a big old hypocrite on this issue. Do as I say, not as I do.

Just saw on Towleroad that Lt. Choi responded to Adam's tweet with the following:

"I salute you, @adamlambert for being a beautiful voice of the voiceless."

Also saw a reference to a study on the acceptance of homosexuality around the world, and it said homophobia has actually gotten worse in Russia, with 64% of those surveyed disapproving, compared to 58% a few years back.
