Thanks to : ) for the reminder that 3 years ago today was the first mention of Toothy Tile. As much love is there for the past there is the need to keep eyes ahead to see today and the day after tomorrow.

Okay, sugar-muffins, the only reason this one's in the Vice section is because until
quite recently, Toothy Tile was dating his superpopular, superannoyingly perfect girlfriend. Not boyfriend. Which, if you ask this old gossip whore, is the classification Tile would prefer his significant others be filed under in the very near future.
Mere days ago, while everyone was hooting and complaining about this gown and that host from the Oscars, Tile was right out in the open holding hands with his man in a West Hollywood restaurant
--which shall remain nameless...because I love going there and they probably won't serve me anymore if I start outing their customers, ca-friggin'-peesh?
Not that I'd be outting anybody, anyway. Mr. Tile took care of that himself. Covertly, but he did it.

Ted has been quiet lately on Toothy, the Goose and even Jake. What does it mean? A respite for for Toothy and Goose to slip away for a quiet private life? Ted's tired of the other shenanigans Toothy has been playing? Ted's sources have gone quiet for the moment? Toothy is not the only gay HW actor blind item in town anymore? Or does Ted have something bigger he is waiting for to say? The one thing Ted has not said, is that Tooth has lost his Goose.

Has there ever been a sweeter blind vice? While there have been plenty of other gay blind items since then, Toothy is still pretty unique.
I sure would like to know what is up with Ted, although it may very well nothing. He's had long periods of not talking about Toothy, with the exception of that recent period in which he was always answering letters. Could be because there is nothing new or because he doesn't want to beat a dead horse by going on about Reeke.

I am so glad to see this post today. To me it is very evident that Ted has backed off Jake/Tooty. It sure seemed to begin after Heath's death. At first I thought Ted just wanted to give Jake some time after Heath's death to let Jake grieve. Jake sure seems fine to me.
Ted was hitting Jake/Toothy big time before Heath died as he was also slaming reeke. I have had so many thoughts go through my mind but just am not sure what is up.
Ted sure has not had many kind things to say about Heath which has seemed pretty cruel. He said to give jake time to comment on Heath's death. Personally I think Jake has had plenty of time.
One possibility, which may be silly is that ted has had some kind of communication with Jake or someone who is close to Jake and has been convinced that Jake has good reason to do what he is doing and that it will not last forever and that Ted will be proven correct if he lays off.
I can't beleive that Ted would just never mention his most popular BI ever again. Maybe when Ted said be patient with Jake in regards to a comment about Heath he was also saying be patient with me in regards to comments about Jake/Toothy. i am losing my my patience.
I'm not quite sure what exactly Ted is supposed to be reporting.

He's a gossip columnist, not a Jake fan. He won't report about Jake just to say: everything's still the same.
And if there is something report-worthy, I have a feeling Ted won't be reporting it because he respects that there are some parts of Jakes life that are off-limits simply because they mean too much to Jake and because more than just Jake is on stake.
I don't think Ted will never write about Toothy again, but what is there to write about at the moment?
He's already (in answers to letters) said that Jake/Toothy is bearding, and that Austin is still along for the ride. Maybe now, like all of us, he's just waiting to see what Jake's next move is......I'm curious too! (I will eat my hat if it involves marriage to Reese).

If Toothy is keeping a low profile, there simply may not be anything to say about him. Ted needs to keep the column interesting. How many letters guessing who Toothy is, when everyone already knows it's Jake, can you post without boring everyone to death. I know I was getting tired of them and I am a Toothy fan.
I googled the photogropher and learned he is the grandson of Max Factor and owns Smashbox Cosmetics with his brother.
I still think J&A are together. But, if they are not, I can guaranteee there is no shortage of men lined up waiting to fill Jake's shoes as Austin's boyfriend. The man is stunning these days.
^I've gotta confess I've never really understood what the attraction was with Austin *ducks to avoid being pelted with rotten fruit and veg*.It's all about Jake for me, Austin's just not my type, but even I have to admit he looks scrumptious in the recent pics. Let's see, we've got Studly Seymour goin' down on some chick at the Viceroy in Santa Monica. Does that interest you? A little, you say? Well, it was quite impromptu, nothing planned (like in a bathroom stall or anything). Box-office deliverer S2 and his latest gal--for the moment, I assure you--just wanted to share a scream or 15 in the ballroom, that's all. So what if other folks crashed their sweaty party?
Toothy Tile, on the other orgasmic hand, does mind. Or maybe not? Hmmm.
As any reader of this filthy column knows damn well by now, our boy Tooth--much like Seymour, above--likes taking chances. He does it in the parking garages of Hell-Ay's more bourgeois shopping centers. On restaurant balconies--hell, wherever there's a chance of getting caught.
Just like he did last weekend. Parking lot right off the Strip. T.T. and his b-f (for whom, I'm told, Toothy has considered very heavily coming out of the proverbial media closet) were "hard-core" doing the diddly, say their concerned amigos.
Only problem was, a security cop called the real coppers, who hand-slapped T.T. something good. Alas, somebody's somebody called the head somebody at the police station, and the whole thing got covered up--just like most of the fun stuff does in this ass-greasing enclave.
So, don't expect Mr. T. to bare his bisexual soul anytime soon. I hear his relationship with the same-sex partner is suddenly not quite as gung-ho as it has been for months previous. Toothy got so friggin' scared he's edging back in the closet. And--you guessed it--the opposite-sex ex is soothing Tile's bruised psyche.
Hey, don't sweat it, Tooth. I once did it on the Long Island Railroad with my then beach boy, and the conductor happened by. Oops. Didn't ask for my ticket, funny enough.

Just read that actor Jaason Simmens (Baywatch) came out because he and his partner adopted a son, Tom Ford is planning to father a son, and a former co-star of John Barrowman has offered to carry a child for him and his partner. So nice to see gay father's getting more in the mainstream!

Looking back at Toothy and the BF now known as his Grey Goose, you see from the beginning it that there is genuineness and committed sweetness somewhere at the core ot it all, even with all the extracurricular romps around LA, that even got to "seen it all jaded" Uncle Brucey (Ted C)
I think Ted has alway has a soft spot for Toothy and Goose. Sometimes protecting, others time preaching, still sometimes a sherpa, and then acting just like his readers hope that they make a real go for it and have it all.
Why has Ted grown so quiet? Maybe he is giving them a respite so they can have that private life, at least for a while. Maybe he is waiting for the right time to say something he knows.
I don't think that it is because they are not together. He wouldn't have railed as much about Jake & Reese, if Austin was no longer in the picture. He didn't have to if there was no one else. Well unless he just wanted to stir up the sh..sugar about Reese. Ted does not seem like he's on the varsity pep squad for Team Witherspoon.

The Reeke/Jeese -- like I have always said you have to go big to cover something big. Yeah it looks a little out of the ordinary for a 27 yr A lister in Hollywood not to be seen going out with someone, but they (J &A) were doing fine. I think there something more that people had to be distracted from.

Re the Spitzer scandal in NY- how are all the NY OMGers doing?
I believe prostitution should be legalized but Spitzer is a lying, unmitigated hypocrite who should resign. He was this big moral crusader, championing ethics reform--he even broke up a prostitution ring (not the one he patronized) last week with 14 arrests. But this?? Phony. He should resign.
By the way if he does, he will be replaced by David Patterson, longtime politico who's legally blind. This would make Patterson the country's first blind governor ever.

And like Stubborn I think Ted would not hesitate to write about any split. As a matter of fact, if one wants to believe that Ted is just toying and using his readership, a split would be a godsend to him. Imagine: more pleading on the phone, makeups and breakups, tears and sighs, plus all the possibilities of new affairs... he would have material for months to come!
So personally I still believe they're together.

Strong possibility too IMO. Sure, Reeke's protagonists may not be the most enthusiastic and convincing bearders but there's no denying the efforts put out by their publicists. I can't believe they would have overlooked possible "friends" or "acquaintances" who could derail their project. Didn't Ted write that TT no longer hangs around with some of his gay friends? I don't think Jake has abandoned all his friends but maybe he's keeping his distances from a certain crowd that is now considered "unsafe".
Right now these are the two possibilities for me.

Hard to believe but I am at a point now that I believe that the Toothy Tile era may have come to an end. Not sure why. No reason for me to read Ted's column again.
I hope that doesnt offend anyone but that was the only reason why I read Ted. Maybe the next we hear from Ted will be to announce Toothy's oops sorry Jakes engagement to reese. I got a feeling it is on the way. Jake has taken it this far why not go the full route.

Strong, non-stop rumors about him being gay, which intensified when he started being seen with Rachel Bilson (apparently their kissing sessions were extremely unconvincing). I also read he might have bought a farm in Canada and some think he might be living there with a BF.
The Spitzer story is such a shock, I've never heard any rumblings about him that way. It does look like another case of moralizing about something you've been doing yourself. I never really warmed up to Spitzer, so I can't say that I'll be sorry to see him go.

Yea the Jeesers would love that, esp if they get engaged for R's bd 3/22. But i dunno, I feel IF it happens it proves that it's bearding. Because of their behavior together, esp recently. They have NO chemistry at all in pics. No love showing in their eyes for each other, no small caring gestures, no shy looks. I don't remember ANY pics showing Reese and Jake even looking at each other.
And when it was obvious Chris was along for the ride last week, well that tells me something right there. Those leaving the hotel pics showed 3 people, NOT a loving couple and a friend along as the 3rd wheel. Jake and Chris were more in tune with each other in those 2 pics than Jake and Reese were in all the pics and vids from the entire week.

I dont think Reese would go so far as to marry. The only outcome for such a scenario is divorce. Being divorced once is OK. Everyone gets the first marriage free. But a 2 time divorcee. Different spin, epsecially as she gets older. She wants to be seen as desirable. Besides, marriage would require a total investment of time on both their parts. Would Austin really sit still for that.
jerseytb/tom, one of the advantages of the Jake blogs is that other people have your back. You can stop reading Ted if you wish, confident that one of us will comment if there is any mention of Toothy. I check in on Ted most nights around 8-9 PM PST, just in case. If not the evening, always the next AM.
I get the feeling that Ted is a lot busier these days and doesn't he have a wedding coming up soon.

Ted mentioned the break-up in response to a reader letter. There was no reconciliation on the horizon when it was published.
I always thought Ted was a couple of months in arrears and that the coffee photos spoke of reconciliation (JMO).

London, I've always thought that the coffee photos were the start of talks because Austin seems like he's just starting to come around and Jake ran off with McBongoArmstrong for about a week after.
The very first TT blind item is the one that always gets to me and always makes me want them to make it.
I still feel like they are on a break or something but will probably find their way back to each other.
The biggest problem with Reeke is that Jake has aligned himself with someone who has to come out on top, no matter what. If he'd picked a startlet, he'd be calling the shots.
If he's going to remove himself from this situation, he'll have to do it with utmost care.
It might get easier just to keep her as his permanent beard.

Sometimes you have to wait a while to get all the pieces to figure the timeline of slits and reunions.
I think they got back together early in August, why? There were the Defamer sightings of them at out buying DVD's Austin on crutches, and the sighting at Death Cab for Cutie (total date sightin). Now have to role back a few days to NYC. There was a picture of Jake in a restaurant with someone who had crutches.
So it looks like Austin was in NYC with Jake that summer.
Them in 2007 promoting for JFC Austin says he messed up his ankle was on crutches but didn't tell the producers. Well definitely he wouldn't want to be photographed on crutches would he? So I think they were together earlier than the coffee pics.

Ted has pretty clearly stated what is goining on with Reeke and there seems to be nothing new to report on that front.
It pleases me how difficult it is to make bearding look natural. On paper a couple of shopping trips, coffees & dinners and the odd screen kiss here and there must look easy but in practice body language gives away even the better actors! And based on that Hayden & Rachel are most definately bearding. Didn't even Jake hint something about Hayden?
