Suits Them

The work week always starts off strong, where you wear your best stuff at the beginning of the week trying get to Casual Friday. And what a better example of a well dressed Monday than these two well dressed men. Now if they were part of that human resources training video, more people might have paid more attention during orientation.

I am not normally a suit person, but there sure is something about Jake and Austin in suits.

Frenchy, no chocolate hangover for me, I didn't get any chocolate bunnies yesterday. :-( Howver I may have a bit of a wine and brunch hangover. :-)

None for me either. I always wait till after Easter to buy them cause they're cheaper. ;)

Thanks Spesh for those gorgeous Monday suiters:

Both Jake and Austin are superb in suits. They just know how to wear them and they seem to know how to "inhabit" them... if that makes any sense. Ok how about saying they look totally comfortable and at ease in a suit as opposed to many other actors who look like little boys lost & dressed up by mama.

Also something I noticed is that Jake usually looks terrific in a pale-colored suit, which, IMO, is not a trick every guy can pull.

They both look well in suits but I prefer them in more casual attire myself.

A bit off topic but has anyone read Ted C today. He is referring to there being someone else in Ryan P's life. Vague about the sex. Not sure what to make of this but it seemed interesting. Sounds like Ted is in on some juicy tidbit.

You're right, M, that does sound suspicious. And does seem to be hinting at something really salacious behind the scenes. Who could it be?

(hopeful) I'm having my next HR training on Wednesday...

They both look gorgeous in suits. As I am biased I prefer Austin, of course. Love your post, Special k.

Jake really does look terrific in a light colored suit. But I love Austin in that suit from that photo shoot. He seems so comfortable in it. Clothes you like are always the clothes that look best on you.

Oh you want me to comment? They look adorable. I'm not sure I like the pale grey on Jake as much as the dark, though. I'd love to know what Austin's suit in the latest pictures is made of; it hangs amazingly.

Both guys look absolutely fantastic in suits. They wear them like they are born into them. Jake looked incredible at the charity event last week.

Great casting news for Nailed.

Early reviews for Stop-Loss

Great pics of Austin and Jake :)

BTW, charity events are better publicity for Jake than any photo stunt with Reese (PR people should take note).

destiny said...

I have to agree with Spooky and say I think Austin is a bit sexier than Jake in a suit. I think that is partly because Austin with his thinner frame can wear more form-fitting suits. I think Jake is wearing the cut that is right for him, but it has a different effect. Handsome and classic, as opposed to sexy and modern.

Let me shamelessly use your comments for a couple of seconds guys:

Talk about finding the right words. ITA.

Maybe his people will take note Marie, but will Reese's? ;)

I just checked and Stop- Loss will be out on the 28th over here. I read a couple of reviews and even the less enthusiastic ones won't keep me away from that movie. :)

In an interesting turn of events, the Babblers are talking about Jake not commenting on Heath's death. Guess they are not quite as okay with it as they wish they were.

Anonymous said...

they must not have anything else to talk bout because no pics of Reese getting engagement ring on B-Day, Jake playing with kids and pigs, Easter family gettogether, weekend wedding have been released for their enjoyment and gloating pleasure.

BUT pics of 2 suited lookers are here for us to enjoy! I like them both in suits. Totally agree with Destiny about the right cut and how Jake looks classic sexy, Austin is modern sexy. But the one suit that would fit them both to a tee and is classic AND sexy is the birthday suit. :D

tower of, what prompts you to monitor the babblers every discussion and report here, I am not sure... why do you care so much? Let them talk! Kind of hard then to tell them to go back on their blog if we keep monitoring theirs.

Seems to me that a lot of people related to Jake writes for The Huffington Post. Mom, dad and now his godmother. When will Jake publish too?

Tower of, if you're right, it's about time they woke up to the obvious.

I don't see any problem with talking about what other people are saying about Jake. What I do think would be wrong is for anyone from OMG to go to Gyllenbabble and post, particularly in an effort to get them to change their minds, and I think it is wrong if they do that to us.

PR monitors us. You don't think PR monitors them as well? I want to understand what information PR is taking in. That information is what they are using to orchestrate this campaign. It's interesting to me that the people who think that everything Jake does is great and never criticize him are not totally convinced about his silence regarding Heath. Makes me wonder what the response will be.

Personally, I don't care about what those Reeke worshippers are thinking. But I agree with the second part of your post Keeping Up: to each his/her little corner and everyone is better off. :)

Just read some of the Jamie Lee Curtis blog entries. She is really cool.

I think we do need to be aware of what goes on in the fandom, as long as we are respectful towards others. PR does monitor everything and you never know what they might choose to pick up from where.

Dear Ted:
Whatever happened to Toothy Tile? It's been ages since you've had a Blind Vice about him! Has he settled into a well-concealed domestic life, or did he just receive some discretion for Christmas?

I think every man can look good in a suit, but there is a difference between looking good and looking great. These two look great. Why --they wear the suit, the suit doesn't wear them.

I think Jake is wearing the cut that is right for him, but it has a different effect. Handsome and classic, as opposed to sexy and modern.

Well said Destiny, and Jake knows exactly the suit and the cut for him.

Loved his layered twist on the classic look at Toronto this year. And I do find him in light colored suits incredible. There is a window pane tweed he wore with a brighter blue shirt that just was too much.

I do like that Jake takes more chances with his wardrobe when he travels to European, embracing a little more of a European approach to suiting, textures, colors and mixing patterns.

Austin is all about that long lean torso and proportions proportions proportions. Getting the portions of the narrow lapel, thinner shirt collar and straight tie in perfect balance --you get a incredible looking Austin. . He can do classic suits, more modern tailored ones and slim cut European ones as well.

Love the suit from the Men's Health with the patterned shirt, with slightly tapering to show off the that waist. In the new set, he knows he's the shit in that suit and he is so working it.

But there is a little irony to it all. Jake is extremely handsome in not the classic sense of the word, but he tends to look more classic and handsome when dressed up. Austin has very classic features but ends up having the non traditionally modern dressed up. But together they are a force to be reckoned with.

Ted finally says Toothy is bearding! Wonder what TPTB will make him do to counteract this?

frenchy said...

And the first letter is from Alberta. What a coincidence. ;)

Anonymous said...

what's the coincidence with Alberta, Frenchy?

Florida Tom said...

I am pretty sure Brokeback was filmed in Albert clueless.

frenchy said...

Tom is right Clueless. BBM was indeed filmed in the breathtaking mountains of AB. :)

Anonymous said...

thank you Tom and Frenchy for the answer!

I also think Ted said (or implied) Jake was bearding, or the relationship with Reese was fake, something like that, and it was before Heath's death.

And now with this:

Gifted to him by his agent, manager, publicist, gardener and current hetero squeeze.

Ted's not mentioning the boyfriend, unless the gardener is the bf, but I don't think so...

Jamie Lee looks absolutely fabulous these days. The gray hair is stunning on her too. I'm so glad there are still women in HW who are not ashamed of their bodies and getting older. There's nothing sadder than looking at a woman bloated on Botox in the name of beauty.

I remember reading an article about HD and Blue Ray and it was talking about how all the celebs that had surgery were so stressed about it because it showed all their flaws up close. I thought it was hilarious.

p.s. The boys do look good in their suits. No doubt about that : )

Special K said...

Maybe he's no longer the BF, maybe he's something even more to Toothy.

Anonymous said...

Glad to see Ted mentioned Toothy, and yet again he essentially outs Jake with the facts. I e-mailed Ted myself recently, can't recall the exact day, and one letter is quite similar. Not mine, but very similar and the same theme, but then again it was a logical question to ask, about Ted's not mentioning Toothy. Mgmt must really have something on Jake to be able to apply that much pressure.

Anonymous said...

The Gardener? How very Lady Chatterly's. I don't understand what Ted said tonight--is he saying Toothy is no longer gay now that he has a hetero squeeze? This is odd coming from him since last week he mentioned Jake being forced to cavort around town limping because of Reese and then wondered if it was because of love--before adding NOT.

the gardener....roses grow in gardens. a reference to stemming the rose perhaps?

Movie stars don't have to worry about HD and Blu Ray, not yet. Although these new technologies are better than DVD, the "resolution" of the image is really a lot lower, not even close to FILM. Blu Ray is going to improve your quality at home, but film is a lot better and won't change the quality in theaters (which is the highest as of today). There are special lenses, filters and other tricks of everyday use on film sets. HD broadcasts can use them as well. Still photographers have powerful lenses, but Photoshop gets used a lot, we usually don't get to see wrinkles and skin imperfections...Well, just wanted to say something about that, sorry if it's way off topic. Film is the best resolution, higher resolution than High Definition (HD is only the highest on video).

Nice one Rattler.

Francois Ozon seems to always have something about partners swapping though, what's up with that?

But this clip, I wonder if it is similar to Jake's life -- used to "dance" with women, but now has have his true partner.

Anonymous said...

Francois Ozon seems to always have something about partners swapping though, what's up with that?

It is not swapping, silly girl.
Ozon treats sexuality as a fluid.
Freeform. Amorphous.

Special K said...

So Orzon is saying that sexuality can not be defined. Or is it love that can't be? Or both?

I think I would say all of the above.

Could it be that the gardener would know that Jake doesn't live alone, thus the gardener must also provide the discretion?

That's what I was thinking too press now. And pr can circle the wagons all they want to, we an still see what is going on.

press now the gardener could know that someone is around the house a lot and get a hint that someone was there overnight, or might have seen something more. That would require some discretion on his side, why would it need to be the fact Jake does not live alone?

Anonymous said...

Well said, hedge clipper.
Now what do we do with the plumber?

Anonymous said...

maybe the gardener heard the crack of a whip and 'more, more more' from the inside the house. or saw Jakey and whoever getting it on in the gardenshed. nothin like old dried dirt on a shovel and the smell of fertilizer and Miracle Gro in a stuffy shed to get the libido revvin at full power! or maybe the gardener saw/heard a baby. could be anything!

we tell the plumber not to show his ass!

What would happen if Jake came out?

Q: What do you think would happen if a major male movie star like Jake Gyllenhaal or Ben Stiller came out? -- Anson, Billings, MT
A: Assuming it’s someone at the peak of his career like Gyllenhaal or Stiller, and not a character actor like Ian McKellen or a “respected elder” like Jack Nicholson, I think it would all depend on how much money his next movie made. If the movie was a hit, he’d be lionized and hailed as a trailblazer in the media, and the offers would pour in (even as he’d be ridiculed and attacked on right-wing talk radio and on the “comedy” circuit; the paparazzi and online gossipmongers would be especially vicious).

But if that actor’s next movie tanked—and this is more likely, since most movies disappoint—well, that failure would be seen as instant confirmation of the “fact” that audiences won’t accept a gay male leading man…and that actor’s career would take a serious, perhaps non-recoverable hit. He’d still have to deal with all the nasty ridicule from right-wing talk radio and the online gossipmongers, but he probably wouldn’t get much more leading man studio work. He’d probably have no choice but to gravitate to character work or television, where he’d have another shot at stardom…but a television career would, again, depend on the success of his initial offering. If that first show failed, he’d probably have to take a few years off and hope for a comeback once things calmed down a bit.

How do I know this would happen? Well, I don’t, of course; it’s all speculation. But it’s pretty close to what happened to Ellen DeGeneres (and Anne Heche, for that matter).

Interesting article, Wicked. Society as a whole is still very homophobic. So is HW. But Jake doesn't have to come out of the closet if he doesn't want to. And it's certainly no excuse for bearding or pimping his fake relationship to the extent he has. Is it such a catastrophe to walk alone and have the occasional dinner with some female if he's so hellbent on keeping the ambiguity going?
