PoP Eye Spy

Today it's time for some Eye Spy and stretching those attention to fine details and critical thinking skills you have.

Jake was out and about yesterday.
(Check out the whole set of pictures over on IHJ.)

First pics of the set.

Hood up really not wanting be noticed.

And why does this alley way look like the back of the medical building we've seen him at before?
And why does he look he's walking into that same parking garage again?

Then he's holding a two hangers one with a shirt and and another with a pair of pants. Where did they come from? And where did that Audi Minivan/SUV come from? Is it his? Because it looks like he's standing there like it's one of his cars not his or is it hers? And is she a friend he's helping or is that someone from his team?
Now why would there be luggage carts in the background? Those aren't at grocery stores, or dry cleaners or Starbucks? Does he have to do more press at hotel suite?

Even if it was dropping off a little bit to the dry cleaner, wouldn't an assistant be doing that stuff? Or is he heading to drop stuff off where the luggage carts live? Is she carrying his shoes and other stuff if he is doing press? And where does she go? It was like poof!

Now where did the shirt and pants go?
And then no hood, no problem being noticed now, why now and not earlier?

TONIGHT : Jake will be on MTV at 10:00pm EST.

As part of the promotion for PoP , interviews and sneak peeks at the movie will be part of the show "Dudesons in America" and "Ultimate Parkour". It looks like the will interspersed throughout the show before the commercial breaks.

Austin has said in other interviews that Mexican food is his favorite. Too cute that's what they made most especially in French Quebec.

Think Jake testing the adage the way to a man's heart is through his stomach?

But can Jake wanting to share cooking with him, and maybe trying to teach how to do things in the kitchen as a way of connecting, as well as showing himself in such a confident way. Jake totally at ease in the kitchen, being teacher, guide.

What French Quebec has to do with Austin?

Special K said...

They were in Quebec when they were making TDAT and that's where they started cooking together.

I see, thanks!

That schedule seems a bit odd, it has him in NY for Letterman on Monday, back to LA for Kimmel and back to NY for Regis.

I know the schedule looks odd but wonder if one of them will be shot ahead or if there is a change in location for Kimmel or Regis.

That is what IHJ is reporting, but I also double checked it here too:

Man, my comment got all jumbled up. I'll try again.

Austin knows where it's at - Mexican food is the best!! He would love my mom's enchiladas. They are quite well known 'round these parts, lol.

We mention enchiladas on the menu to friends and they are there, lol. I think the secret to them, besides her sauce, is when they're made with homemade tortillas.
Storebought tortillas just lack when it comes to the enchiladas.

LOL at the hood. What was the temperature there, anyway?

Very quiet today. Big Buddy is off today and I'm going to tell him tomorrow how quiet it is when he's not here. Ahhhhhh, I remember this is the way it used to be. lol.

Special K said...

Growing up on the East Coast before we moved out KS, we never had Mexican before. Never will forget the first time we did, friends fried tortillas to make taco shells and I stood there in the kitchen fascinated by the whole process. But the best part was when my brother ask if they could pass the fudge, which was really a bowl full of refried beans.

So it is going around that Jake's being a gentleman and carrying her stuff into the hotel for her. But I'm not buying that. Look at what he's carrying it looks to big for her. And come on a little too drab, and no bag or plastic (I know I know not good for the environment) to protect it? It looks like guys clothes.

confused said...

But I'm not buying that.

So what is Jake really doing?

Dear Ted:
So sad that Crescent Kumquat would be so stupid as to have sex without a condom! I wonder if he thought you don't get stuff from powerful females, only gay guys. Are any other Blind Vices now worried they might have picked up something from him recently? Any chance C.K. and Toothy hooked up recently? Or is Toothy being faithful to Grey Goose?
—Bob

Dear Safe Sex:
Totally agree. I think Cres was more worried about getting his hetero on than protecting his business. A C.K.-T2 matchup, while superhot (well, if you ignore the herp), hasn't gone down. Don't expect it to, either. Totally different conniving animals.

I have no clue what Ted just said?

destiny said...

In last weeks blind vice, Ted said CK, who is supposedly Chace Crawford, picked up herpes after having sex with a female publicist who blabbed to everyone about having sex with him, implying CK only had sex with her knowing she'd talk and to prove how "straight" he is.

But I have no clue what Ted means by being different kinds of connivers, unless it's a reference to rent boys ala the one TT story, as opposed to hookups with famous guys???

Stubborn TB said...

So what is Jake really doing?

Someone on IHJ said that the woman is Jakes publicist, Carrie something.

So, most likely he was doing an interview in the hotel room and they were meeting up in front of the hotel.
Probably she had brought his work clothes and he helped her carry them in.

He never does interviews at his home, unless they're over the phone, so him going to a hotel to do an interview would make sense.

confused said...

Jake lives in LA, there is no need to change his clothes in the hotel.

Special K said...

Ever think he wasn't going back home, he was going to do errands and and then head back to the hotel for the interview. You wouldn't want to mess up the clothes wearing them everywhere and maybe you don't have the chance to get back to the house to change.

Stubborn TB said...

What Special said plus:

Maybe the clothes were at the dry cleaner.
What's the point in his publicist getting the clothes back from dry cleaning, driving to his home and dropping them off there if they're going to meet at the hotel anyway?
Especially if he was out running errands in the area. Not only would she have had to drive to his house unnecessarily, so would he in between running errands and doing the interview.

I'd be interested to hear your explanation though? What is going on in the pics?
Was he helping his publicist carrying her boyfriends clothes into the hotel she's staying at for the PoP press tour?

Jake is busy this days, but he's not that busy and he has people working for him.

YouTube Jake on ESPN SportsCenter Top Plays

prairiegirl said...

LOLLLLLL! Oh, he was awful on Sportscenter. LOLLL.

Aw, I say that most affectionately. Jake - don't quit your day job. He did have the clasped hands on the desk move down pat, though. He looked just like all the former athlete anchors on the NFL Sunday shows.

"cat-like reflexes"???? Whaaaa?
Well, I guess. lol.

Ooh gosh, I was cringing. He won't be asked back. lol.

There was a really snappy play from I think the shortstop to 1st, bang bang! And Jake had hardly anything to say about it! Was that the one where he just said, faintly, "Wow."

Maybe he said "Wow." on the Royals/Baltimore highlights where it looks like Baltimore had just creamed a homerun off of us. Man, the Royals are awful this year. How embarrassing.

LOLLLL - that was not a highlight. Good thing for Jake that Chris Berman wasn't there. The pressure would've been insurmountable. Jake would've had to do a "back, back, back, back" or something.

Awwwww, but hey! he looked good.

Man, for the days of Dan Patrick and Keith Ohlberman. SportsCenter was never better than when those 2 guys hosted.

prairiegirl said...

Cat-like reflexes. lol.

Boy, I can't remember the last time I heard that one on a Game of the Week. I'm trying to imagine in my head Steve Stone saying that.

Wow.

snicker. That was awesome.

What is it about those SportsCenter and NFL pre-game show desks that have all those guys sitting so straight, hands clasped in front of them, and they turn from side to side, when addressed by someone else, as if they had a severely sprained, stiff neck?

Well, that was fun watching that. I haven't watched SportsCenter forever.

prairiegirl said...

Those hotel pictures? Jake looks like he has a softball weighing down the front pouch pocket of his hoodie.

Special, one week from now, I will be In the House!!! Bugging you to death. lol

By the time this trip is over, Special's going to be drop kicking me onto the Metro. Boom!!! There she goes! back, back, back, back!! Wow. Lookit those cat-like reflexes, folks!!

Great interview with Jake on WonderWall.

Some of the highlights.

WW: If the mysterious dagger from "Prince Of Persia" were real, what time would you travel back to?

JG: Well I don't know if I believe in re-dos. Cause I definitely do believe the lessons you learn in life, you are meant to keep them with you. But probably go back to the little kid who was playing the first "Prince Of Persia" video game, little me, when it first came
out on the first Mac computer. I would go to him and whisper in his ear, 'Guess what? In twenty or some odd years you are going to be acting in the lead of the Jerry Bruckheimer version of this video game. It's kinda like "Indiana Jones.'' And you know, I'd love to see him go like, 'oh who are you? Go away you're creepy.' No, I'd just love to see him be psyched about that.

.......

WW: You get chased by a herd of ostriches in the film. Any nightmares about them now?

JG: Yeah. I definitely have my ostrich issues. But slowly as I talk it out with the press, I'm really getting over it. I think I'll slowly friend Alfred Molina's character

in the movie and maybe I'll even give 'em a smooch one day and feel comfortable about it. So I'm really working through it and its going well."

WW: They do have big, beautiful eyes.

JG: They do. There's nothing like a big beautiful pair of eyes.

WW: Summer's coming up, any plans?

JG: Well, I have this little movie coming out called the "Prince Of Persia." I plan to let people know how awesome it is. And that's my summer plans.

.....

WW: Tell me what it's like being an uncle. Do you spoil your niece, Ramona?

JG: I think its wonderful being an uncle. I mean my niece is incredible and she's like constantly positive little truth teller. I love her. I adore her. I would do anything for her. So you know it's nice to be her uncle and I try to see her as much as possible. And I go out of my way to do that. Since she‘s the next generation of little Gyllenhooligans. Even though she's a Saarsgaard. But she's half of us so you know.

Ted may be suggesting that although TT is conniving, like CK, his plans and schemes serve a different purpose. Where C.K. schemes to cover up his promiscuous partying and raunchy indiscretions with both sexes, TT’s machinations and conspiracies are decisively different. Since Ted discounts any future pairing between the two, he is probably confirming that TT is not the promiscuous bisexual partying type. Bet Grey Goose is glad to hear that. Also, Ted said back in May 2009 that CK had not publicly played the bearded card (“like most of this closeted celeb group does”). In fact, he says CK is rarely even seen with girls. Of course, we know a major public contrivance of Toothy is to publically sell, straight as an arrow, with high profile babes on his arm. Ergo, totally different conniving animals.

I also loved the way Ted playfully asserted in his überblog entry from yesterday, that Gemma doesn’t have knowledge of why Jake is so sexy, even though she isn’t “confused” when “she let slip” that she doesn’t have familiarity with Jake's steaminess. Almost implying that Jake’s sexiness would, of course, be unexplainable (mysterious and enigmatic) to his female costar. Then Ted wickedly goes further to prove his point with the following jab: “It's like [Gemma’s] sitting at home checking unattainable guys off her own Last Real Man checklist.” Don’t think it takes too much grey matter to figure out why Jake might be unattainable to his leading lady, as well as why she wouldn’t ever be able to experience that certain something that makes the boy such a turn on. Ted, of course, helps her out by giving a gay man's perspective. LOL!
Untouchable Jake

I know. lol. Hasn't he ever watched SportsCenter before? The Sunday night NFL replays? come on!

I've had TBS on (Meet the Parents is on, LOLLL) and they just had a Movie segment featuring Teri interviewing Jake. He gave his big twigs n' berries speech. I just realized that Teri must no longer be used by Ent. Tonight. She must've gotten the boot because Samantha Harris is now getting those gigs.

So Teri is no longer Simon Cowell's girlfriend so boot! right out the door. I couldn't understand how she had that job anyway with her voice.

Special K said...

M&M, Ted is clearly having fun all these years with his comments. And bet if you ask him who's the most fun BV to write about it would be Jake/Toothy.

Special K said...

One more thing from the WonderWall article that cracked me up:

WW: What was the most difficult thing about

shooting "Prince Of Persia"?

JG: You know, I've gotta say the most difficult part of this film was buckling the swash. Swashbuckling isn't so easy. In order to buckle the swash it takes a pretty proficient swashbuckler. So bucking the swash every day was pretty difficult. That was probably the most difficult. I mean you really gotta buckle, like if you're gonna buckle it, you swashily buck the swash. You gotta own it in order to swash buckle.

prairiegirl said...

I can't believe I sat & watched that Dudesman show. Like wow, man, those dudes are like, really awesome.

lol. I thought I was watching Jackass! for a minute. Jackass! in foil. LOLLL. Those idiots on that Jack--- were so stupid but they killed me. Some of the stunts they did were so unbelievably stupid.

Boy, they are spinning Jake everywhere, aren't they? Every demographic.

prairiegirl said...

And after every little minute stint, we hear "Prince of Persia, the Sands of Time, coming May 28". I think I'll be murmuring that in my sleep until next Friday. Prince of Persia, the Sands of Time. Coming May 28.

Now what I want to know is did Jake really watch Errol Flynn's Adventures of Robin Hood? He mentions that here again.
Maybe he did -- just to watch Errol, come to think of it. Oh, that Errol was some kind of dreamboat, wasn't he? Old School Classic Dreamboat. **sigh**. And his voice. What a sexy voice he had.

Well, one more day of work and then it's freedom again. And then it's a 3-day work week next week. I have to start thinking about what I'm taking so I'm not there on Wednesday night again, packing until midnight-1 in the morning like I always do, lol.

interview said...

What a difference five years makes.

During the interviews for Brokeback Mountain at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2005, I sat opposite a deeply melancholy Jake Gyllenhaal, who described how he felt about his recently ended relationship with Kirsten Dunst by saying, “There’s a tremendous sense of relief along with a tremendous sense of grief.”

But now it’s 2010, the movie Gyllenhaal is starring in is the Prince of Persia (opening in Toronto May 28) and even though his latest long-term romance, with Reese Witherspoon, is now a thing of the past, he’s a totally different guy.

Granted, this time we’re just on the phone and the distance from Los Angeles to Toronto separates us, but the 29 year-old actor is so cheerful, so effervescent, that you can just imagine those trademark blue eyes of his sparkling brightly.

“I admit it,” he agrees enthusiastically. “I feel totally upbeat these days. I’ve learned something important in the last few years and that’s how to have fun. Both in my life and in my work.”
...

“I don’t know what it is, man,” he admits with his usual candour. “Maybe it’s getting through my 20s, maybe it’s all the stuff that’s gone down around me, but I’ve learned to listen to the rhythm of the world and try and have a lot more fun with my life.”
...

Family has always meant a lot to Gyllenhall, but in his new, happier life, he finds it taking an even greater pride of place.

“No matter what happened to my career, if all of this went away tomorrow, my family would still be here and that’s all that matters.”

I don't think we could be hit on the head anymore with a rubber mallet. I don't think I could choose to look at what he keeps saying and try to spin it any other way.

The man is speaking loud and clear in this one. A 29 year old man doesn't speak the movie junket going on about his mom, dad & sister like this. lol - not to diss them any. But he doesn't. Not even for Disney.

The man is speaking about his family.

It doesn't get any more endearing than that.

I agree most men at 30 would love their Mom and Dad and Sister but that sounded like a deeper kind of love. That does sound like a man with a mate and kids. Question is if he loves them so much why does he let HW keep them in the closet. Who does he love more HW or his

ITA PG. He is talking about his family.

“No matter what happened to my career, if all of this went away tomorrow, my family would still be here and that’s all that matters.”

Jake is usually about throwing breadcrumbs but this time he dropped an anvil.

This is not a man who has done what he has done (Reeke)for fame and fortune when he can says it can all go away and the only thing that matters is his family. This is a man who did what he did for his family. Because he felt that was what he had to do for them. Even now staying in the closet now is what he feels he must do for now and again it ties back not for himself but what he thinks is best for his family.

prairiegirl said...

I hear you, Tom.

And while I was just walking, I knew I would come back & add to that.

While that kind of emotion is so endearing, may he remember his family & what they mean to him by honoring them, if not himself and refrain from some of the behaviors that he took on overseas last week. He doesn't need to do that.

I think he's trying to please his people but he's also trying to talk about this new family life of his that he has. If not being out is what he has to do for now, it's what he feels he needs to do for his family. But he can do it without the disrespectful behavior.

I know that doesn't mean much coming from a straight person and I know it would be harder to say if I weren't.

That being said, I am excited for him as he gets ready for this whirlwind week that's about to start. He has paid his dues for it.

As somebody who has worked out in some form or another for 25+ yrs, I have nothing but admiration for what he went through physically to do the role of Dastan. It blows me away, really. What discipline. I'm totally impressed.

He worked in 100+ heat and if that wasn't probably miserable.

Just those 2 things alone earn some kudos from me. Darned if I'll even walk outside at 80 degrees unless it's 4 or 5 in the morning before the sun comes up, lol.

Okay, it's Friday! When I see the neighbors' trash bins outside when I walk, I know it's Friday. Yesss!

There is a great teaser of an article about Jake in the June Issue of Elle Magazine here:

Elle.com

In place of the grown-up child-actor narcissism you might expect, Gyllenhaal seems to have an aggressively beatific urge to connect with everything and everyone around him, as if he has just walked out of the ballroom at a human-potential seminar.

“That’s a real guy you had breakfast with,” Anne Hathaway says afterward. “A lot of actors only know how to be real when the camera is rolling, but Jake is unbelievably warm and open and welcoming. There’s no mistake why he’s so charming on-screen.”

....

“I lured her [Anne] to do the movie by telling her that [Brokeback] wasn’t our love story, this one should be,” he says in an admission of tactical charm. He’s a Big Pharma drug rep, she’s an artist in the early stages of Parkinson’s disease, and they fall in love in a no-holds-barred sort of way, exposing at least as much flesh as Gyllenhaal did in his near-naked dance in the Gulf War sufferfest Jarhead. “We’re going to learn the hard, dirty, rough parts of ourselves and share them at the same time,” is how he describes their dramatic approach. “Jake invites vulnerability,” Hathaway says. “He’s not afraid of that.”

Well said PG. Myself a Gay man and most likely Destiny a Gay woman do see this all so differently. Sure Jake has worked hard and his being successful at his job is important to himself and to hid family so it is hard to root against him.. When we see things liek bearding and that Russian dancing nightmare it like heis sticking that PoP dagger in our hearts.

This movie is getting mpstly poor reviews but is probably gonna make some money because it has no competition for the type of audience it is going to attract. That is why the movie was switched to this year. You do know that if a franchise is in the works Jake will be bearding within months and we will have to watch that behavior all over again. There is no doubt in my mind. Mark my words.

Away from the glare of the flashing lights and glitz, I've believed, from the beginning, that Reeke (nauseating as it was) allowed Jake to nest and nurture during those critical past "few years" he is discussing in this very revealing interview. Allowing him to lay the foundation for what he is unabashedly now referring to as his family. “No matter what happened to my career, if all of this went away tomorrow, my family would still be here and that’s all that matters.”

Tom: "I think he's trying to please his people but he's also trying to talk about this new family life of his that he has. If not being out is what he has to do for now, it's what he feels he needs to do for his family. But he can do it without the disrespectful behavior."

IA. Hopefully, Jake will learn that lesson too. He's a work in progress and I like a great deal of what I see. Admittedly, there is still some eyebrow raising behavior, but maybe the strength he draws from that family of his will give him the courage to not insult the sensibilities of his supporters. Positive role modeling is a key expectation of a parent too, so hopefully he experiences a different kind of life changing epiphany soon. An illluminating moment when he realizes that hurting others is not a necessary requirement to safeguard that newfound joy he is now embracing.

Yes, of course, the best way to show how proud you are is to lie and keep the family in the closet. Great parenting and role model!

Special K said...

I know the focus is on Jake at the moment because of all the interviews and mentions, but he is not doing this on his own. He didn't only give himself time for to nest and nuture and build this family, it also allowed Austin to do the same.

Neither of them can come out solo they are too linked to the other, and don't think they would want to come out solo. And it seemed back in 2006 that the plan was even then was for them to come out together. But now it's not just Jake, not just Austin, not just them as a couple, but a whole family that would be coming out, and that is monumental. Doing so is not life changing for just one person but for four, and not just coming out to a few people, but around the world all at once.

Can see wanting to have a stable solid very grounded foundation as partners and parents and family to do that.

What they are trying to do really doesn't have peers or maps, in Hollywood to help them or how to show them how to do this. They are basically trying to break their own trail.

The expectations for Jake shouldn't be just for him, but for Austin as well.

Do what? Be irresponsible and selfish gay parents?

The expectations for Jake shouldn't be just for him, but for Austin as well.

I absolutely agree, Special. There is real complexity and groundbreaking dynamics going on here. Still, there's just don't need to insult others with some of his behavior. Playing hetero, doesn't mean detracting from others. Especially, when one of the roles that catapulted him into A-List status was a portrayal of the love that dare not speak its name. Otherwise, your statement hits the head of the proverbial nail for sure.

Please explain - what is groundbreaking here?

Easy question for people who believe Jake has kids - when do you expect him to come out? When first BT starts school?

Thanks A-List Trailblazer.

So hiding in the closet with kids is a great thing and Jake and Austin will be recommended for that one day. Did I get it right?

Wow! Have you assessed your reading comprehension skills, lately? Maybe there's a distance learning course you can enroll in before your brain shrivels up from not using it.

Doesn't get it,

could you please be so kind and explain what would be so good about closeted family since I don't get it?

If you look closely, no one attached a value judgment to the family choices that have been made over the past few years. Try reading posts, again. If anything, most people are commenting on Jake and Austin being a work in progress. Evolutionary and revolutionary, not normatively good or bad.
