Medical Mystery

Jake's been to the doctors twice in the past few days. But the mystery is not why he is going so much but the mystery and the hints when he does.
Case in point :

Why were the pictures of Jake's Saturday trip to the Dr's cropped so close that you can't barely even see anything the front quarter of the car?Every single shot was crop so closely it wasn't just a coincidence.Who could be driving the car that wasn't supposed to be seen? Was it because someone who can be seen in a group with Jake but not the two of them alone in the family truckster just yet in the driver's seat?

Maybe Jake is giving some hints.

Interesting that Jake has been seen in Patagonia the last two times he's been out and about.
Maybe it just goes with the hat.

Speaking of the fella with the hat. It's Two Wheel Tuesday.
Maybe this is something else he'd sport. (Happy Bike by Zamforia) It is that Longhorn orange.

I also think that when Ted writes, "Both the fellas are lying low lately. Like really, really low" he is having some fun with the concept of being on the down low.

Regarding the closely cropped pics at the medical building, I noticed that too. Highly unusual and defintely meant to hide whoever was driving Jake that day. Since we've seen several of his personal assistants in the past, there would be no reason to be so careful to block them out now. And, yes both men love Patagonia wear. "Our Common Waters" initiative would defnitely be something I could see Austin supporting, along with Jake. Never mind the company's focus on making products that are less harmful to the Earth.

Jake hasn't worn Patagonia in a while so seeing him wearing it twice in three days stood out. And Austin's Patagonia hat has been a fixture throughout Austin filming season 9 of OTH.

I had totally missed the last two comments on yesterday's post and wanted to re-post this one which was quite revealing for the poster:

Although I know the most argued aspect of Toothy Tile is the existence of a BT, I have to say that I’ve always thought there was a child born to them in 2007. Toothy has been a Superstar BV since Ted introduced him in 2005 so there was no reason for him to make up such a thing. And, no, I don’t believe someone fed Ted the story to discredit him either. Everyone knows that Toothy is Jake and Goose is Austin. So their people would have quietly put the kibosh to this rumor, if it weren’t true. Ted obviously likes Jake very much so he would have no reason to continue to associate him with such a controversial topic, if the heady content of the BV wasn't true.

Where I once parted ways with some here was the idea that Jake and Austin had more than one BT, mostly because Ted never talked about more than one. At least, not in any concrete sense. But after reviewing Ted's statements and reading different arguments in support of multiple BTs, I might as well now admit that I’ve finally come to the conclusion that Toothy and Goose have had more than one child over the past four years.

For instance, that whole multiple choice stuff Ted was writing about back in June 2008 was more than likely about expecting twins because later on Ted talked about pigs in blankets and then wrote about a manger. Ted has also said that Toothy has more than one “guilty pleasure”, which can easily mean being a father. On one occasion someone asked him if there was more than one BT, and Ted could have easily said, “No.” But, he didn’t. Instead he said: Dear Bundle of Joy: Their family is constantly expanding, in many ways.

So I’m taking the plunge today while on vacation that I have to admit, I do think Toothy and Goose have a large family. How large… I’m not sure. I guess some here even think that Jake recently had another baby while mysteriously hanging out in NY late last year. Certainly possible because once you open your mind to the possibility of several children, there are a lot of signs that lead in that direction. Oh, yeah and how can anyone ignore those two Audi Q7s? Just my opinion after being an only one BT believer for years, I finally have to confess, there probably is a bucketload of them.

I hope Oldman wins also.
He's really been overlooked in the past. Haven't seen the Brad Pitt movie yet. I'm pulling for Oldman or Pitt.
Like Clooney but he's nominated too often and wins too much. Some of his movies are not that great either. Give others a chance please.

Not sure if she is an OMG hater, but the site has not been managed for a long time. I stopped going there.

Congrats Tom for having two questions answered by Ted. Quite an achievement.

I wondered about those photos too. Good call that Austin was the driver. I'm still waiting for another photo of the two of them.

Kirsten Dunst loves being surprised in her relationships.

The 'Melancholia' actress - who has previously dated stars including Hollywood hunk Jake Gyllenhaal and Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell - claims she doesn't care what a guy does for a living as long as he makes her laugh and is honest.

She said: "When it comes to dating someone, I don't care what you do. Just as long as you make me laugh, you're a good person, you surprise me and we're honest with each other."

It has become quite obvious that Jackie dislikes OMG. She lets posters bash the people who post here, no matter how nasty or rude the comment. But if you say something that doesn't fit her party line, no matter how polite, it disappears.

Special K said...

The thing about the internet is that there are all kinds of places for all kinds of Jake and Austin fans. The goal for OMG has always been to focus on Jake and Austin themselves than about blogs that are about them. And with all the good things happening recently we've got a lot to talk about.

prairiegirl said...

It is pretty bad though when a long-time ally turns on long-time posters like Destiny & Tom.

You truly have to wonder what in the heck is going on.

That being said, I wonder if we're not going to see the boys for awhile. Seems like maybe we had the Jake MO of the send-off, a cluster of papped appearances. If so, I would say that I'm thankful for a lack of another a**-leer like we had last year, lol.

Well, guess we may have except that it was from Austin's point of view.

LOLLLL!!

Methodical Muser said...

Remember, what Jake said about his "relationship" with KD: "Kirsten and I know what's real and what isn't." Ms. Dunst was hardly naive about what she was getting into with Jake when her bearding assignment began in 2002. Of course, Kiki was young and probably fell for her PR arranged boyfriend even though she didn't want to. Maybe even convinced herself that he was going through a phase with Austin. But, given that she was working in the industry as a child actress since the 1990s, and the fact that she dated one of Jake's close childhood friends back in 2002 (Alex Greenwald of Phantom Planet), there's no way that she didn't know all about Jake and his preferences. Just like with the Swift story that Maggie introduced them (and then the story changed about five more times by December), the idea that Jake just met Kirsten in September 2002 is simply not credible. Although the story was awfully convenient for a closeted young gay actor about to begin filming a huge blockbuster film with his new boyfriend for the next 6 months.

Methodical Muser said...

Love Gary Oldman too. Unfortunately, George gets recognized by the Academy, like in 2006, because he plays the game. The whole Stacy Keibler fauxmance, strategically ramped up just in time for Awards buzz last year is another indication why he continues to be acknowledged even though, I agree, his performances are hardly that impressive.

prairiegirl said...

The other thing that kind of has me curious is what path the guys are going to take.

I find it kind of surprising that Jake doesn't have something announced as being lined up yet except for the judging gig in Germany. Maybe the whole fam is just taking some time to be together for awhile.

Or maybe Jake is such a risk right now that film companies aren't wanting to take a chance on him. And that wouldn't surprise me. He's not getting offers on big movies because Jake is showing signs of not playing HW's games and trying to live the kind of life he wants to.

I look at Ryan Reynolds and I don't get it. But I can see 20/20 that he is playing HW's games. And it seems like those who play get rewarded.

Jake better not be getting snubbed, that's all I have to say. That would be a pretty raw deal.

I think George is a good actor and at times he rises above the fray and can be exceptional as in "Oh brother were arwth thao" Love his performance in that movie and some others.

But so many other better peformances by male stars are overlooked. It gets tired after a while. The great, great Meryl Streep also. I hear she is the best thing in a so-so movie.

Give others a chance..

c'mon people. Name, name, name! anything.

I do wonder how Jake is doing financially these days. His parents took a big hit during the divorce. He has not had that much work in the past 2 years. I know actors rely on residuals, but how far does that go. Investments are not exactly reaping huge returns lately. He's not so well off he does not need a paying job.

OwlGirl said...

I don't think Jake's expenses are that big, though. He has very simple tastes and a basic lifestyle. His biggest expenses are probably his nannies and flying back and forth from LA to NY. When he's in NY, he usually stays with his sis. He doesn't take expensive vacations to expensive locales like the Maldives, buy expensive jewelry for girlfriends, party hard in Vegas, or do drugs. He leads a totally different spending lifestyle than many of his peers. He should be able to live quite comfortably even in LA on $250k a year or so. Between Jake and Austin, don't y'all think they make that much?

destiny said...

Jake got $7 million for doing POP, so I think he's set. I really don't think he's supporting his parents, after all they are working, and sold all their real estate holdings. I have zero sympathy for someone who can't live on that kind of money for the rest of their life.

I read a story somewhere about who is the most charming person in various categories (movie actor, pr, tv actor, etc.), the kind of person who makes you feel as important as anyone else, who remembers your name, etc. George Clooney was mentioned for the movie category. I think he is well-liked, he's one of the few big stars, he makes serious movies that do well and get a lot of attention--these are all things HW likes, not just the bearding angle.

I am sure Jake is having trouble getting work, and that is one of the reasons for the switch in agencies. If the parts had been rolling in he wouldn't have switched. Some of it is not being able to open a movie, some of it was not picking the right roles in the past, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of it doesn't have to do with the fact that Jake doesn't seem to get around much to HW events to network, unlike a lot of actors who are always working.

I know it's best not to talk about other blogs Special, and agree that people are free to run their sites the way they want, and discuss what they want. However, it's hard not to say anything about WFT2 because it is truly astounding how bad things have become. I'd say that out of approximately 2800 comments posted since the middle of December, well over half are directed at bashing OMG as a site and also at all the individuals who post here on a regular basis. On some days that is all they talk about.

I think when the purpose of another site has turned into bashing others, something needs to be said, even though I know it won't do a lick of good.

Special K said...

Jake's had some solid paychecks but yeah PoP has been his biggest. I think Jake has taken some risks sometimes, taking scale or a reduced salary for bigger piece of the back end on DVD sales and piece of the sales of the movie rights. It has worked, Jake is on guy who has has really strong DVD sales even when the movie hasn't been as strong at the box office.

And then no doubt gets a piece of the pie from the sales to movie channels and television around the world.

I think PoP helped the bottom line a lot, not only the movie, but his likeness was licensed for all the merchandise they rolled out for it.

I alos think Jake has invested not only in property (that he might have to sit on for a bit until the market comes back) but there was also rumors that he was an investor with Mario Batali, Nancy Silverton, and Joe Bastianich in Mozza. I can see being a quiet investor in Batali's ventures.

And Austin has had some good deals as well. Good solid deals and he's no dummy he's no doubt invested well. His holding deal with HBO, they had to buy out even after JFC got cancelled and getting a regular starring role on a television series that is syndicated worldwide and has strong dvd sales has given him a steady income now and for years to come.

George Clooney may be well-liked and there are always a multitude of factors related to receiving Awards, being selected for roles, etc., but I don't think it can be denied that the guy is a Company Man and he continues to be rewarded for playing the game. Syriana couldn't even begin to compare with Jake's Jack Twist in Brokeback Mountain. Yet, he wins the AA for Best Supporting Actor. And, why is Ryan Reynolds and Reese Witherspoon always working even though they have had tons of bombs recently? With only 5% of actors working regularly in Hollywood, the Corporate Masters have incredible power to reward and punish as they see fit. Jake may have bearded, but I believe he got married when he had the window to do so and started a family of his own. No fake marriage like Hugh Jackman or Will Smith or Tom Cruise. Actors who are always working. Now, the untested Taylor Swifty is being rewarded with a high profile role in Les Misérables. How many much more deserving and talented actresses were snubbed to push her ahead of the line? Oh, I forgot, she gave that incredible performance in Valentine's Day.
