PG, you are correct Austin / PR bought twitter followers (to coincide with the Agents of SHIELD airing maybe)
He also bumped up his following several months ago from 30,000 or so to over 100,000 at once. Does not happen unless something goes very viral.
Look at the beard's following. She has only bumped up 8000 in the last several months while dating Jake. That is growth from her famous association but it is modest & organic growth.

I thought Austin was a better actor than some of the others on the show. Not my cup of tea - skews to a much younger crowd so I am glad he is only on for one episode. We need more Tommy on Ray Donovan, preferably naked.
