Growing and growing

Add one more to cast of Prisoners
Variety is reporting David Dastmalchian ("The Dark Knight") has joined the cast opposite Hugh, Jake, Paul Dano, Melissa Leo, Maria Bello, Viola Davis, and Terrence Howard to name a few.

The cast keep growing:

Check out that wall of cast photos.  This is one big cast for a big story.
But as with any film in Hollywood it didn't start with this cast or director.

Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale were set to star in Prisoners with Bryan Singer directing, but the idea was dropped.

Leonardo DiCaprio was attached to the project for a long time but then dropped out.

Hugh was attached to the film with Antoine Fuqua directing. Both of them dropped out. After several years in development, Hugh returned in the lead role with Jake opposite him and under the direction of Denis Villeneuve.
It also looks like Jake and Denis will spending a lot of time together this year too.  Besides filming now, they have two movies together coming out in 2013,  Prisoners is slated to open September 20th.

But first they have to start shooting.

Cool! Wonder when The Enemy gets released. Looking forward to that one.

In non-Jake news, Jeremy Renner says he's going to be a Dad.

My bet is the baby mama conveniently exits the situation when the baby is born and Jeremy is suddenly a "single" (closeted) Dad.

That'll be interesting to watch.
