BAGged - The Top Ten

The Hollywood Reporter is now reporting that Brian Austin Green is out as Clayton on OTH, and Robert Buckley is now the sports agent that blows into Tree Hill.

10. Brian Austin Green was overbooked.

9. They couldn't contractually bring back co-stars from old WB shows two years in a row.

8. Sophia would have gotten too confused with two guys who look similar. Can't remember which one she dated.

7. Can't go too 90's with the casting, promised Austin he could go 90's for his wardrobe this season.

6. James Van der Beek, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Brian Austin Green .. Austin has a limit on the multi named co-stars.

5. Shane West balked at being pitched as being their doppelganger not their long lost triplet brother.

4. OTH didnt' know if they signed BAG, they were contractually obligated to give Tori Spelling a part.

3. Too much Austin not enough Tree Hill.

2. Schwann already got tired of the Wonder Twin Jokes when he brought up evil twin idea in the writer's meeting.

1. Once you go Dylan, you can't go David.

Hope it wasn't anything we said.

Looks like the Lance Armstrong movie is on back on, getting a push from him trying for an 8th win at the Tour de France.

Hollywood Reporter says that the biopic is getting some horsepower from Seabiscuit writer and director Gary Ross who is now attached to the project.

But it doesn't look like Jake is though, the word is Matt Damon as a possible Lance, but no official cast yet.

Hello! Have to be quick as I'm bordering on overextending on my lunchhour. I had to spend most of it at my local Price Chopper getting a bunch of yogurts! Stockpiled on ol' Blue Bunny & Belfonte, oodles & oodles of yogurt that are now taking up all kinds of room in the crisper with my initials scribbled all over them as we have about 3 ladies in the office eating yogurt. And I think one of mine once got snarfed down by accident. Hmmm. Thus, the initializing, lol.

I posted a big ol honkin' comment last night before I left here & stupid Blogger had a "sorry, there's an error probably due to high volume of traffic on Blogger". GRRRRRR!! I was hacked.
My laptop is at the hospital again because I think I messed up yesterday when I unplugged my camera from it here at work. I lost my Windows. Brother.
Oh well, my fault for not bringing my camera manual with me and using it.

I was just reading about the horrible tragedy at the Holocaust museum. Just terrible. And the plant explosion at the Cargill plant in North Carolina where they make Slim Jim's. Two very, very sad incidents in our country here.
The Holocaust tragedy caused by a hate crime. I don't know - I just wish it didn't exist.

I want to wish Adam L. all the best in his endeavors and really like some of the things he said in the RS interview. I think he sounds like a wonderful soul and I hope he has a great career.

Those people who want to extend a bunch of negative or hateful remarks, it's on them. That's their hate, it's their problem, it's their outlook on life. I do feel bad for anyone who has that kind of hate boiling up inside them because that sure does make for a miserable existance.

Okay, well, that's all the negative I want to say, I don't feel like being negative today. My sister is off to New York City and I have got the run of the place for about a week. WOOOHOOOO, I'm free, I'm free, I'm free!! I'm going to run around wildly, carrying scissors!!
I'm free! I'm freeeeeee

So if Kim Gordon watches Gossip Girl can I use that to validate my watching One Tree Hill to my friends? : )

Glad that the bottom fell out the BAG for OTH. It was too stunty and I really think it would have taken away from the objective that OTH and the exec have at CW were looking at in replacing their new heartthrob for the series (yes - that would be Mr. Nichols). If they want to keep the franchise going the needed someone to be their heartthrob and half of their lead couple. BAG I think was too much of distraction because he look to much alike and would take the attention away their whole plan and who they spent their money on signing.

Sorry Special, OTH just doesn't have the same cache as GG. I've never watched the latter, so I couldn't tell you if that is just good marketing or GG really is edgier, etc.

I was wondering what happened to you PG, sounds like computer problems are in the air. Someone at work just had their whole computer infected, and now our IT department is going to be putting in some kind of filter so people can't go to sites that are often sources of viruses. I sure hope that doesn't affect my ability to come here or my other favorite places during the day, I'll have a meltdown for sure.

Even though I really find the use of "cougars" annoying and sexist when you consider pairing of older men with younger women are par for the course, I found this article on Adam Lambert's appeal to older women interesting.

Seems strange that Green would be out after they sort of announced he'd be on there. Would they'd have offerred it to him in the first place if they thought he was too much like Austin? Maybe they've been reading OMG? :-D

Or it could be the age old story, money.

Dest - I was kidding about the GG and OTH thing. No worries about telling my friends, since they have some doozies of guilty pleasure TV themselves, like Bret Michael's Rock of Love or I Love NY. No stones can be picked up and hurled at each other after cocktails. : )

destiny said...

I knew you were kidding, and was trying to kid back, but alas, sometimes that just doesn't come across in print. And Obama could say OTH was his favorite show and my girlfriend would still moan and complain about the fact I watch OTH. Not that I don't catch her paying attention at times and/or that she doesn't sometimes ask what is going on, so I'm not sure I totally believe her. :-D

She likes it. She just won't admit it!

All under the guise of "I'm not interested, it's just that it's distracting me".

Alright - so I found this on a OTH website.

You want to be on One Tree Hill? Well it's pretty easy to be an extra.

If you are interested in becoming extras, or background talent, you should fill out a basic information card at Fincannon & Associates home office in Wilmington, North Carolina. If you are not local to Wilmington, you can send a SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE to:

Fincannon & Associates
c/o Extras Casting
1235 North 23rd Street
Wilmington, NC 28405

Upon receipt of your SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE, we will mail to you one of our Background talent forms which you should fill out completely, attaching a recent photo of yourself and returning by mail to Extras Casting at Fincannon & Associates. Then, about a week or so before your visit to Wilmington, call 910-251-1500 and see if we have any available background work.

It's really fun and you get paid for it. Not to mention you hang out with the cast all day long!

Any questions or concerns regarding registration as background talent should be addressed to the Extras Casting Director, Meredith Young or here

^ So, which of you is nearest Wilmington? :D :D

Nice post, Spesh, and interesting article, destiny!

Cool! But it would just be my luck to pick a week that doesn't require Austin or extras.

Ted had talked about this a couple of months ago in A.T. Today, Howard Bragman made an official announcement that Chasity Bono is transitioning from female to male. Cher is supportive of Chaz's decision.

TMZ

The other thing Ted said that then was about a reality series about the transition. There is no word on that as of yet.

the mayor said...

Koch, Peter, and Reeke

He's got no reason to make that up.

destiny said...

I didn't realize Ted had talked about Chasity transitioning. Part of me feels very sympathetic to people who feel they were born the wrong gender but I have to admit part of me feels a bit uncomfortable about what is involved. Which is not to say I don't think they have every right to do what they do, and the right to be treated equally and with dignity.

Peter and Maggie do not live in the Village, and Koch is a publicity-seeking, self-loathing closet case who did nothing when AIDS started devastating the gay community.

destiny said...

I have no idea if Koch really saw them. However, Balthazar is a huge hangout place for media types and other well-known people at breakfast time, so it would be a place you'd go to if you want to be seen in NYC. Just like the Waverly Inn, owned by the publisher of Vanity Fair.

Was really interesting reading everyone's comments on the negative reactions to Adam coming out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts :)

Interesting article about "cougars". I love that they are realizing a gay guy can be a sex symbol (especially one who oozes sex like Adam). I agree the down side is the double standard.

Chaz, wow! Makes me sad somehow...

orchid...Will Young, (who won the british version of Idol or something very similar a few years ago) has always had a very large 'cougar' fan base who obviously never had any problem with fancying the pants of a gay man.

At least he did as I think his star has rather waned of late as often happens with 'reality tv' stars.

Meg said...

Sorry for being off topic, but my last comment sent me on a little search for evidence of 'cougar' fans of Will Young. Here is an very sweet video of Will Young fans who won a competition to have dinner with him. Sort of a mixture of cougars and gay men which is sort of what you'd expect (the song playing in the back is one of his best IMO).
