Bridget Bridget Bridget

Bridget Jones was on again and thought of Jake saying he watched that and Sliding Doors to work on his accent for PoP.

Somehow you can see Jake saying a few of the lines over and over again(for practice of course). But what one would be the the ones that got stuck in replay over and over?

And for that here is today's Top Ten.

OMG's The Top Ten Bridget Jones Most Quoted by Jake:

10. Now, I'll go home and... de-bunny.

9. I choose vodka. And Chaka Khan.

8. Apparently, I used to run round naked in his paddling pool.

7. Look, are you and Cosmo in on this together? Because every time I see you, you seem to go out of your way to make me feel like a COMPLETE idiot. And you really needn't bother: I already feel like an idiot most of the time anyway - with, or without the fireman's pole.

6. Have bottom size of Brazil

5. Did I really run round your lawn naked?

4. That thing you just did is actually illegal in several countries.

3. This is an occasion for genuinely tiny knickers.

2. Wait a minute... nice boys don't kiss like that

and Jake's favorite quote from Bridget Jones

1. Bridget Jones, wanton sex goddess, with a very bad man between her thighs.

Yeah, I know, my comments were not positive and were a detriment.

Well, good thing this is my last one, huh? I'm off for the road so it's no worry that I'll be on here to speculate or question anything.

I know when it's wished for me to shut up and moi does not hang around where moi is not desired.

As you were!

In which case, Jake's "new girl" should've worn dark socks with tennis shoes.

LOL PG. Sorry I missed out on the discussion last night, would have loved to be part of it while it was going on. I got up at 6 a.m. yesterday to go to the beach with friends. I came last night and crashed pretty eary for me, I'm usually up all hours on a Sunday.

someone needs help but it's not jake said...

wouldn't you rather speak up and ask than to not say anything and regret it later on down the road?

What exactly is it you would be regretting? You think Jake is going to seek help for his supposed troubled emotional or physical health based on your ramblings on this blog? You think that if you didn't "speak up" he'd be heading for disaster and you are the lone voice of reason that can save him?

Outrageous is a great movie, I saw it when it came out last year.

Regarding your point about ruined careers PG, what ruined them was not being gay, but the hypocrisy and the lying. Most of the politicians in the movie were Republicans who ran on family values, down with the gays, etc. kind of message.

There are plenty of out politicians all over the country now, including a few outed/who came out after they were in office, like Barney Frank. Frank was closeted at first, but he didn't do anything hypocritical, like voting against gay rights, or passing himself off as a right wing conservative when he was really secretly a flaming liberal.

Sorry babe but I'm not Jack or 11:09 or 4:37 am. Funny how here when someone points out the obvious like how Jake gets criticized by you and others on this blog no matter what he does, all of a sudden they're Jack or a Jake-hating troll or a JIS believer. Sorry, none of those three apply to me. Fact is, you can't accept that people here, who are "JIG, TT is with GG and has a BT" believers, disagree with you and your negativity. In a way I feel sorry for Jake - no matter what he does, who he hangs out with or how he looks, it's never good enough for you.

destiny said...

I know people think politicians should be held to a different standard than artists, but I think in their own way celebrities do a lot of damage too with their bearding, etc. Maybe even more, because in some ways they have more effect on the culture.

You're also right about the whole system too PG. Just last week Just Jared ran pictures of Anderson Cooper with his boyfriend and referred to his as his "best buddy". WTF! If JJ didn't think it was appropriate to refer to him as his boyfriend, fine, he doesn't want to "out" someone. But he should not have added in the "best bud" part either, because in doing that he becomes part of the big old whitewash. And how does he know he's his best bud? And who knows if Cooper would have even wanted that said about them. Cooper may not want to talk about his private life, but that doesn't mean he wants gossip columnists out there lying for him.

There is one thing I don't think people are taking into account for Jake looking a little rough around the edges. Reese. She has done a number on him with the latest round, because she is not only giving a backhand slap about his orientation, but she hit him somewhere worse to him. She made insinuations about him as a father with that comment that his habits were detrimental to her children.

And the rock that Jake turns to has to be in NC working at the moment. And Jake's walking back into the viper's den (LA) on his own.

I also think that is the reason that Ted has taken her to the woodshed on this. Ted would have said Jake reaped what he sowed if he had bearded up for his career. But Ted knows it wasn't that. It was Baby Tile. The proof is Ted going after Reese about it not once, twice, or even three time, but four times since it came out.

She went to far, and Ted's making sure she knows it.

I agree that all the drinking and drinking references about Austin are a bit alarming. Not because I don't think people shouldn't party and have a good time. But too often he just looks blotto, like in that Sophin photo, and when you add in the pressures of the closet, you are looking at a classic prescription for disaster. The world is littered with the bodies of closeted gay men who drank themselves to an early grave as a way of dealing with it.

While the trolls and perhaps a babbler seem to be out in force, I do have to agree with them that I don't think you can blame Sophia for Austin's actions. For starters, while the product they are trying to sell now is hot straight couple, we have other pictures of them being physically affectionate when the vibe was more gay boy with his close friend vibe, like thos Fashion Week party photos from a couple of years ago.

Looked again. Yeah Austin's sitting on something.

Is it fair to criticize someone based on one outing? Perhaps not, but when you're a public figure like Jake, and you go out, you're going to have to expect you're going to be noticed and talked about. You can make all the noise you want about how we'd feel if the tables were turned, but we're not public figures, and our livelihood doesn't depend upon our looks and our image.

I did not study the new video very closely, however I suspect Jake is not in a good place right now. Some of it is not his fault, but a lot of it is.

Part of this is that I think Jake is in real danger of his career going nowhere at the moment. LAOD and Source Code may change that, but if they don't, things are going to get ugly.

Missed said...

Ted does seem to have taken Reese to task for something. :)

If a personal friend didn't look good (in my estimation) I might gently say something, but from a photograph of an actor, you really can't say for sure what's going on, it's all subjective. Jake looked fine to me - telling the paps to chill, even a bit of a smile.

Thanks for Rufus Wainwright and Rufus and Chaka. :)

Everything coming out about LaOD is positive. Good buzz, good test reviews, Oscar talk. This could be a surprise for some people who have already written it off.

I hope you're right Special, but I just don't trust the sources of the early buzz on LAOD. It's just coming from a few isolated places. No buzz on the internet from fans, no showings at any of the big Film Festivals, no sense that they are doing anything yet to market this film.

I also don't think LAOD has serious Oscar talk. That just came from Jeffrey Wells, who as I recall was talking the same talk about Brothers last year.

Special K said...

Well the Oscar buzz has not just one one place, but it is listed on almost every single Oscar discussion.

If you read the reviews from the test screenings people it has gotten really really good buzz.

Here's another mention that came up recently. LaOD Chemistry: Jake and Anne

While the trolls and perhaps a babbler seem to be out in force,

I'm not a troll or a babbler. I believe Jake is gay. I believe is Austin is gay. I don't know whether they are a couple. But some of the conclusions drawn around here, especially the comments about Sophia are just way out of line. Also, here's a newsflash: gay men show physical affection to their friends. They're not disgusted by having a friend sit in their lap and they wouldn't need to push her away. Those theories that that is what he is doing are ridiculous and insulting. Same with the over-the-top conclusions drawn about Jake and how "bad" he looked in a four-second pap video. It's not that public figures don't have a right to be criticized, it's the contortions that are made in trying tie every picture or video in with certain theories about Jake and Austin: Jake's beard must mean he's busy with kids. Then it means he's grieving. There was nothing unusual about that video - Jake didn't look upset and he didn't look grieved or "bad." He looked like he just wanted to get in his car and go home. Big deal.

The original source of the article you linked to Special is Hollywood Elsewhere, a/k/a Jeffrey Wells.

Not saying the movie isn't good or that it won't do well for Jake. Just saying that right now the jury is out, and I think its absense from film fests is not a good sign for a movie like this.

A lot of my concern for Jake is he has a lot of competition out there as he enters his 30s, kind of a do or die time for the kind of actor Jake seems to want to be. Jake got a lot of buzz around the time of BBM, but so far he hasn't lived up to it, but HW standards.

Even if LAOD is a good film and gets good reviews, Jake needs to do something to change how he is perceived by fans and get them into the theater.

More of the same thing we got during POP is not going to change that. I hope Jake is working on that over the summer and that we'll see a change in the fall. But I'm really afraid that based on the limited glimpses we've gotten and the Soapy and Suds show that it is just going to be more of the same.

Special K said...

But Destiny look again it links to the other review (that was post here before as well) from a straight single man in of all place the Midwest.

The demographic that people think is the reason for so much worry.

M&M as also said her friend went to the screening in Southern CA and loved it.

There were tweets from people who were in the testings who said the same thing.

All I am saying is that it shouldn't be written off already.

I'm not writing it off. But I am personally not going to get excited and look to LAOD as something that is going to turn around Jake's career based on what little I have seen and heard so far. I've been down that road too many times just to have it all fizzle out for me to want to go down that road until more evidence is in.

And in any event I'm really not addressing the movie itself here, but rather the Jake that we're going to see selling this movie. I was just running with the issues of Jake's image that PG raised in her posts last night, and saying that if we just continue to get more of the same from Jake that I think he is going to have a hard time getting to the place he wants in his career.

Special K said...

Think that Jake and Anne will sell this more on what they put up on screen than what's going on in their personal lives respectively.

destiny said...

Not saying Jake has to sell it based on his personal life. I'm not a fan of that approach.

But Jake has spent the last what, three or four years, selling his films and himself based on a phony personal life in the tabloids and gossip sites, then with the finding the right woman and lame frat boy humor during POP, during which he came off, IMO, as very reserved despite the words and actions. This was not the man who charmed people during BBM and Zodiac press junkets.

I seriously think Jake needs a makeover, and if he just put his head in the sand, and spent the summer break listening to his mom and his same old advisors telling him how wonderful he is and that it was all Bruckheimer's fault, that he's on the right path and they're doing all the right things, he just needs more time for it to work, he's going to be sorry.

That the whole conspiracy theory about how Sophia losing her phone was a lie to cover up the fact that they weren't together? lol, so well said, Destiny. I would think that if Sophia really lost her phone, the last thing on her mind would be worrying about telling Austin to tell everyone she lost it. She'd be in a high panic looking for it. Talk about an instrument of self-incrimination.

Yeah, Austin self incriminated himself and revealed that he wasn't with Sophia at a wedding on July 4th...oh, wait, she was with him. Damn. Special K said...
Oh I don't think you will find pictures of them at the wedding, one way or the other.
Had this thought. Now might have gone to the wedding, but maybe Sophia didn't.
Here's why - how convenient is for Sophia to lose her phone and then find it after everything. Like Destiny said if they were together why didn't let her use his blackberry herself.

And while it looks like she lost it in Michigan or did she lose it in LA?
So did she find in MI, then why didn't tweet anything after finding it?
Did someone find it in LA? Then how did she tweet?
If she found it in LA, then she was in LA and left Austin in Michigan?
Or did Austin go on his own?
And now she only says about the phone, and just a congrats bit nothing else. Maybe laying low so no one would ask specifics?
Just some thoughts.

You all spin like a Frisbee. You create these ridiculous theories, and when evidence emerges that shows you're wrong you either ignore it or ignore your previous assertions and keep on spinning. You'll continue to leap to conclusions based on little evidence, no evidence or even evidence which directly contradicts your theories, continue to psychoanalyse people you've never swapped so much as a sentence with, and you'll continue to do it even when you're shown to be wrong again and again and again.

Which is good, because I find it all very amusing.

I just re-viewed the “Jake exiting the Il Ristorante di Giorgio Baldi” video that is linked over at X17 Online to see if my initial reaction had changed from Saturday’s debut rollout. Certainly, whether or not I appreciate Jake’s scruffy appearance is ultimately a matter of taste and individual preference. I admit that I’ve seen him look much better and more relaxed. But then again I’ve seen him look worse and more agitated. Personally, I fall into the rough-around-the-edges contingency, but I can see where others might think he looks absolutely hunky.

Okay, with that subjective disclaimer in mind, what caught my eye the first time, and still lingers upon the second viewing, is the behavior being displayed, which I think is undeniably more than a little off-pudding. A paparazzo asks him for a comment on Prop. 8 and he stretches his arm out like, “Get away from me,” and says, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.” That’s all I need to see and hear to draw the conclusion that he’s irritated and more than a little peeved with the intrusion on his privacy.

Now, normally I might agree and say, “Give ‘em a friggin’ break. He just wants to go home after a family/business dinner and not be subjected to an on-the-record comment for their story.” Unfortunately, however, when you live by the sword, you die by the sword. That very restaurant he was exiting from Thursday night was the same venue he exploited for a huge PR stunt back on December 19, 2008 to ship over the top in love Jake and Reese caught in the act of a “candid” candle-lit romantic moment. So I’m sorry, Jake. You can’t just use photo ops when it’s to your convenience and advantage, and you can’t be so immature as to believe only you can control when intrusion into your private life is allowed and when it isn’t. Like I’ve said before, a thumbs up gesture or a simple, “It’s great, Thanks guys, I got to go now,” would have created an image which sure would have prettied him up a little and left a sweet, rather than a bitter taste that still lingers in the air. You can't just be kind, jovial and accessible when you're selling a film. Likeability requires consistency and generosity. Not surliness and a winter chill detachment.

I had not thought of that. But that would be an issue, right? That would be a cause for his obvious displeasure. I could buy that.

What if it had been a business dinner? What if they were there to discuss this latest tactic of Reese's and since Maggie & Peter are two people that Jake most likely trusts, maybe it was a roundtable to discuss why aren't Jake's best interests being seen to? You still haven't answered the question - if you admit that it's ridiculous to think that these guys pay attention to anything you say (which I guess was the point of your 2:57PM post), then why would you regret not speaking up? That was not my point at all.

Nor is my point that Jake is just all about his looks. Sure, it's what first caught my eye. But then it was seeing so many pictures of him with his family, his dog...the Laker pictures...hearing & reading his thoughts. His interviews. He seemed like a very nice, very ordinary, very sweet person. Genuine. Loving. These qualities add to one's appeal.

If you have beautiful packaging but no content or bad content, well you can have all the beautiful packaging in the world but it'll be pointless. There has to be beauty on the inside.

Jake had all of it. The whole enchilada. If I only liked him because of the way he looked but thought he was an awful person on the inside, believe me, I wouldn't be here.

Pardon, but I just had to clarify those two possible misconceptions. And now I'm off to work on my journal.

Here is the link: it's a non-clicky link, so you can just copy/paste it, which I hear is non-obsessive and very healthy

Me thinks (there's that word again) someone can't tell apart simply speculating and putting out different ideas and stating that you know something for a fact.

I think I know the difference, since at no point did I say that Destiny, Prairiegirl, Jersey Tom or Special K were stating facts. They quite obviously weren't since they were all wrong. That was the point. Their theories were wrong.

You know, the one who only accepts pro-Sophin speculation as facts.

That's a lie. A flat out lie, and I invite you to either apologize or provide evidence of me only accepting pro-Sophin speculation as fact. Go ahead.

Maybe Prairie Girl has a heart and would regret not being fully honest with everyone here about her feelings regarding Jake’s appearance. She obviously has some passionate points of view about that X17 video that others do not share. At least, she has the guts to express a heartfelt opinion, even though it may not be popular with a few of you. I like her comments and her humor.

And why do you want to know? I gave you my answer in 14:57. What part of that says Oh, I think they read and heed every word I say. Are you worried that there's some secret kind of connection going on here? Talk about illusions and fabrications. There's no bat phone in the house of OMG or even PG for that matter. There's no bat signal. So you need to drop it.

That question applies not only to this case of speculation, but to life in general. Do people see a close co-worker or friend display some kind of trait or behavior that is worrying yet not say anything? Do we all act like everything's fine? Oh, it'll be all right. They'll bounce back. Things will get better.

Sometimes this is true. But sometimes not. This should just be one part of our make up as human beings: concern. Paying attention to changes in patterns of behavior or traits. Maybe it's nothing. Maybe there's just a very simple, non-threatening or short-term explanation.

But you don't know until you ask, right? Or do you turn your head and pretend everything's fine as usual. No cause for concern.

Sometimes that's what gets you a Stage IV diagnosis instead of a Stage I. And that sentence can be taken literally or figuratively.

That being said, it very well probably could be like Special said. Maybe he's still very upset about what Reese did. And who wouldn't?

This is why I do this, this worry (hello?!! I am an anxiety sufferer! hello?!) and working myself up. When all I'm looking for is an answer. And when I'm reassured by logic? Then I'm fine and I can move along.

You guys don't know anyone with anxiety, do you. Well, now you know what it's like. Just ask my friends, family & co-workers. They know. They're used to it.

WOW, you REALLY missed the point, didn't you? I KNOW there isn't any connection going on, so I'm hardly "worried" about it.

Do people see a close co-worker or friend display some kind of trait or behavior that is worrying yet not say anything?

What did you say about illusions and fabrications? Jake is neither your close co-worker nor your friend. The analogy doesn't fit. I'm sorry you suffer from anxiety. I don't think this blog is helping you any. :( That's not sarcasm.

prairiegirl said...

**Sigh**

I have absolutely no problem coming back here and stating when I am wrong.

But big stinkin' deal on the July 4 event. What exactly does that change? Nothing!

I believe Jake & Austin are both gay, and I believe they are no longer bachelors, but that they are married and are raising a family.

They have known each other for longer than I ever thought and I love the fact that we see evidence that Jake loves to touch shoulders when they have sat next to each other.

I support what they are trying to do; don't always like how it's done but they're not asking. Won't stop me from expressing.

I think they're beautiful, not just on the outside, but on the inside. They're just two guys who I believe fell in love and it must be that rare, once in a lifetime kind of one-for-one, true soulmate, destiny kind of love.

And being wrong about where everyone was on the day of July 4, 2010 isn't going to affect any of those feelings of mine at all.

So what exactly is the point of that big copy & paste job, anyway? I don't think I quite got it.

You know what? Maybe you need to stop spending so much time on here worrying about what some office ad min from Kansas is wondering and saying about your client and start worrying about your client's career. That's where the paycheck is, it's not here, buddy.

Wow, someone's just a little too intense about this whole subject & taking this a bit too personal. In case you hadn't noticed? While you were away at break? This subject was pretty much wrapped up. Keep up, would you.

I don't keep a dosier on every poster here like you do, but I guess I could go back and get all those posts you made a while back that were clearly all about pro-Sophin theories being okay and any other not.
But frankly I have better things to do with my time. Don't bother dragging out your other persona though, I'm sure no one really cares enough about you for you to do that.

Of course, it was quiet over the weekend. Few people wanted to respond to Special's post from Saturday. Too close to home, I suspect. They would rather talk about Soapy and Suds being the real thing, and how a July 4th weekend means wedding bells are around the corner for our "favorite" OTH couple. Oh, and let's not forget that convincing photo of Soapy on Suds' lap that somehow got "accidently" leaked to that fanpop site. Really original. Almost like one of Reeke's "spontaneous" coffee runs.

Let's face it. With such provocation, I'm surprised the woman who hears "little voices" is still not pregnant yet. Could help the show's ratings.

Special: Could we change the name of this site to Team Soapy and Suds?

prairiegirl said...

Soapy & Suds. lol. That'd be a great name for a laundromat, you know?

Well, the Wichita trip was delayed a day. I tell you what. It's a good thing my brother called when he did. My mom & I were getting ready to step out the door. Car was loaded up and everything. And then he tells me that Mom & I did know that we were needed Wed, Thur, not Tue, Wed. Uh, no, dear brother of mine, you said we might need to come down Mon night. Heavy sigh.

Unload the car. Come back home. Go back to mom's because my laptop AC adapter was in my clothes bag that I left at her house. LOLLL - get this. I was so desperate to not drive all the way back to Mom's house for that thing that I stopped at Best Buy, thinking I would buy a new cord if it just cost like $20 or something. I would have spent $20 to save me a trip to & from, you bet. Totally worth it.

Oh my dog. Those adapters are like $80!!! Holy Cow!!! And I didn't even see any Dell adapters, anyway. But good grief!! That was a no brainer.

And I got to my mom's and she let me in (cause my garage opener is deader than a doornail and who ever has spare 9-Volt batteries laying around anyway?) and I open my bag, yup, there it is. And mom starts off with "Why isn't your cord in your computer bag?"

Mom, don't even. I know. Don't ask me why I did that. I don't even know. I just did but now I have it and I'm happy now. And I'll see you tomorrow.

lol. Don't you hate it when it's pointed out how stupid you were? lol! Gee whiz. I know it. Don't re-emphasize it.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that new Tuesday companions One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected will stage a crossover this fall when OTH songbirds Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) and Mia (Kate Voegele) guest-star on the Oct. 12 episode of LUX.

From a creative standpoint, the stunt actually makes sense. Haley and Mia will travel to Portland to perform at a music festival sponsored by Cate’s (Shiri Appleby) radio station. “Haley and Cate are surprised to learn that they share a similar back story [as] mothers,” teases an insider.

Business-wise, The CW is no doubt hoping some of OTH‘s 3 million viewers will check out LUX.

Jana from One Tree Hill and her husband of one month are getting their marriage dissolved. What's the difference between dissolved and annulled, I wonder?

It's on Just Jared tonight.

prairiegirl said...

Oh, okay, here's more:

The couple, who got engaged in 2009 and married over the July 4th weekend, split because of their big age gap and because Jana didn't like living in Johnathon's bachelor pad, according to a source close to Jana. This was the second marriage for Johnathon, who was previously married to Christina Applegate.

Methodical Muser said...

Too funny. That whole OTH gang is nothing but a manufactured shell game of fake relationships.

Let's look on the bright side, though. At least, the nuptial farce gave Soapy and Suds their little PR July 4th fantasy weekend to convince everyone they are really a couple. I love the excuses given for the dissolution. An annulment means the marriage was not valid, PG.

OK Magazine July 19 said...

Methodical Muser said...

Yep, Soapy would be the one I would listen to for relationship advice. After all her marriage lasted 5 months instead of 5 weeks. LOL!

prairiegirl said...

LOLLLLL! M&M.

That whole thing's strange, isn't it? Age gap already a known fact. In their couple of years of knowing each other, she never stayed once overnight in his pad?? He always came to her place?

One month. That's unbelievable. See, it was his blog page (or facebook, I can't remember) that first had the pics of Soapy & Suds at their wedding. He said he was putting them up for a OTH fan or something or other to that effect. I think he actually put two of the pictures up. And that's probably the source where they were lifted from and put on fanpop. This guy put all of his wedding pictures up on the internet: the groomsmen & bridesmaid pics, pics of the families, going down the aisle, honeymoon, you name it. He put them all up there.

These OTH'ers, boy, they love to share their private lives, you've got to admit that much. I mean all of it. And it's a family affair. They get the whole families involved. What a close knit bunch. Gee whiz golly.

Methodical Muser said...

Yeah those OTHers are the epicenter of discretion and staying power. That whole "let's put up all the pictures on Facebook" stunt was exactly that...a stunt. I wonder what the CW budget was for this pathetic mockery? Maybe they can get a refund. Better yet. A rewrite. Because the reason for their marital split is pretty darn flimsy. Hey, I know. Maybe he smoked pot all day long! Nope. That can't be it. They didn't have children. Hmm. I've got it! How about Jana just discovered she's a lesbian and is going to run off with one of her OTH co-stars. Stay tuned. We'll find out in Episode 5 who the lucky gal pal is. Austin can be the script consultant on this one. *snicker*

I can always tell something is up by the number of comments. My own opinion is that Jake is fair game for both criticism and praise. It's inherent to the career he chose. If you plaster your face on movies, tv and dvds for a fee in the millions, then you have to live with being a public figure and all that entails. PAPS, blogs, no privacy, rumors, the whole nine yards. It's not like he did not know what he was in for. He grew up in that environment. Don't like it anymore? Then change careers.

I also agree that Jake is in a bad place right now. It's been said that in HW, you are only as good as your last movie. POP was not well received in the US and he became somewhat of a laughing stock. Sure you can spread the blame around, but most of it landed on him. Add that recent idiot article about the Reeke breakup, Austin in NC. Jake is a sensitive soul as it is. That's a lot for anyone to handle and he was almost wiped out by the bearding to begin with. Austin needs to sneak home and cheer up his husband.

Back in the saddle again! My compulsion is specifically having to do with Prop 8. Andy and me were planning on tying the knot, and took a trip to Palm Springs to plan our nuptials. He flew from Toronto to Chicago, then on to Phoenix. We connected and continued to P.S, via LAX. Had a blast making plans, he was 49, I was 47. Tentatively arranged the ceremony, and we returned to our respective "domiciles". We were, at this point, an item for seventeen years. Both of us were on the hoof, and would meet up at eihers' home, or, halfway in between. I'd been transferred to BOS, and he drove from Toronto to Wakefield, MA in December. We shared Christmas together, and he left on the 29th, my birthday. His birthday was February 16th. Planned to surprise him with a birthday visit. One week to the day, got a call from his brother that he passed away on the morning of the 9th. He was cremated.

You know firsthand how fragile, how instant life is. Isn't that funny about the hair? You know, my dad never lost his hair during his chemo. It's not like he had a thick head of it but it was covering, you know. Still had to get haircuts & all. It kind of thinned a bit but he never lost it. I'm glad of that. And I'm glad yours is growing back.

I pray for strength for you on this last round. Knock it out, buddy, and give it the ol' drop kick out.

Isn't this funny, too, how it always is when we humans talk to our fellow man like yourself and hear stories like this.....and we start to write, like I just was, starting out trying to be uplifting & inspiring, and instead it's the other way around.

People like yourself inspire us. You have been through hell and back. But it's you who finds the irony and the beauty in the little things of life and it's you who comes here to tell us to keep hope alive, for whatever that means to each individual at their stage in life. You know that all that you shared together is there with you everyday, all the strength and love that sustained you will always be there. All those moments you hold in your heart and mind are the special reserve that sustains through the contemplative moments that come in the quietness of the night. And in a whisper you feel it and are reaffirmed.

You are at one of the best places in the World for care, rounding third and heading for home. Go! Go! Go!

My prayers, good thoughts and all my "Sox can go all the way" energy is being sent to you. Like 2004 three games down, and losing by one, it is that unexpected steal by Roberts, to bring it back and set it up for Big Papi to knock it out. Knock it out of the park EV!

Dear Ted:
Are all the male actors who beard self-centered, moneygrubbing, greedy fame whores, or are there some who beard who sincerely believe they are doing it for the "greater good"? For instance, to protect a relationship or something they stand for that would be totally eclipsed by "scandal" if they were to come out? Not that they're right, but they sincerely believe that to be true.
—Bunny

Dear Funny Bunny:
Suppose the latter can be true, but it isn't usually; greedy fame whores might be a bit harsh. Think scared actors who care more about their career than furthering the greater good. Sometimes a person wants both their career and their love life to thrive, and in order to do that, they think they have to beard. Just ask Grey Goose.

I take Ted to mean that GG wants both but for some reason, he thinks he needs to beard in order to maintain both.

Some of us have wondered why GG needs to still beard? Yeah, it is convenient now because Jake lost his cover and now that GG has had Soapy, Jake can maybe buy some time. And I myself thought hey, this is good. At least Sophin gets along, Austin seems to handle it pretty well, Jake should look like he's doing better, this is good.

And while Sophin was irritating, it did look like this would be much more tolerable than Reeke.

But it doesn't matter which guy is bearding. It's no fun for their fans no matter which one is doing it. And it's not fun for the other spouse.

That being said, I was exploring on the internet because there were a couple of things about the guys that I wanted to see if I could find more background on. One of them being a black diamond because of Jake saying he was engaged to himself and he bought himself a black diamond ring.

The 2nd thing was this Tortuga Resort where Jake has been mentioned to go to in the Dominican Republic.

prairiegirl said...

Wow. This Tortuga Resort is paradise on earth. Fascinating reading. It's gorgeous looking; it's in the Dominican Republic and it is very exclusive. It's inaccessible once you're inside and it is luxurious to the T, okay? From the time you are escorted from the plane's tarmac to an awaiting transportation and taken directly to the check in. A golf cart comes with each room and you are catered to personally for anything you need. I took a virtual tour of a room and the view from the bedroom was beautiful. You have access to I forget how many different lagoons, pools, etc. Golf courses. Your baggage is handled; you don't have to touch it. Romantic, romantic, romantic. (the luggage non-touching isn't romantic, but I'm not moving that sentence now.)

So you know Jake isn't going alone to a place like this. And it is quoted that Jake Gyllenhaal has been there. An employee is quoted as saying that it's a very quiet, private resort; guests can be there and yet not be seen. This employee said he himself had no idea when Jake had been there.

I could see the 2 guys being there. Jake knows Austin loves water. What a wonderful place to take him to. And what an isolated, romantic place to build upon a foundation that is already laid. I don't know for sure if he went here with Austin but knowing Jake's PR people, had it been a person who is of the female persuasion, you know it would've been touted about in some manner.

The blue stone in Austin's ring looks like it is Larimar more than turquoise, because the color has lightened over time and that is one of the characteristics of Larimar.

And where is the one place you can get Larimar? The Dominican Republic.

So now, if Jake & Austin have been to this Taratuga place, then it's just one more thing that tells me these 2 guys have something very special.

Now sometimes things can get a little off balance. Little out of whack.

I see on fanpop.com this morning some disturbing pictures. They're under the section Sophin, which is why I never saw them. I don't look under Sophin, I just check Austin's. Now I know better.

But there are more pictures from Jana's wedding of these two and maybe someone else has linked them and I just missed it or something.

But they weren't good. The couple of pics that I have always seen, Austin's eyes are a little glassy and he already looks maybe a little buzzed. Maybe not, though; allergies? No sleep?

Ha. There are now plenty of pictures under Sophin to show that Austin was blitzed out of his mind. Remember Jake at the Oscar party pic? Behind Ang Lee, Texas Longhorn? Mouth = Gaping Fish?

That's Austin in these pictures x 5. To the 10th power.

I'm not bringing this here to taint him or try & blow it up into something bigger. But I know that I don't want to just see the happy places. Need to know the not so good places, too.

And these pictures, in my estimation, kind of worry me. No, they don't just kind of. They worry me, period.

And weddings are indeed joyous occasions. People have fun & dance & drink. That's cool - what practically everyone does. Toast the couple, have some beers, etc etc.

So if this was all we had, I would just say hey, it was a wedding. He's blowing off some excess steam, having fun, etc etc.

Look at these pictures. Are these people really his inner nucleus of friends? It looks like it with all the pictures of him with the groomsmen, with the ladies, him by himself, out on the dance floor, etc etc , mouth wide open in every single one like a circus sword swallower (lol) and everyone toasting the goblet. It looks like a typical 20+ year old party. Okay...

I just wonder how Jake would feel if he saw these pictures. Taratuga? Jana's wedding. Hopefully, this drinking business just doesn't get out of hand. Because it can. And you just want to nip it before it does.

But sometimes, you have to tell people, "Hey, not tonight. I need to kind of take it easy on that."
Not everyone is in the same place. That's what happens when you get married & have a family. It's knowing where you need to be at certain times and not tempt the bad from creeping in. It's about preserving what you have because it can be lost. And then what do you have.

If I didn't care about these 2 guys so much, I wouldn't say anything at all about it.

Okay, said my piece, so I'll now leave it at that;
