Wow, great goings-on for the boys.
L'Shanah Tovah, Happy New Year to all who celebrate! :*
Best Actor 2010 Early September
Jake Gyllenhaal (Love and Other Drugs)
Analysis: The famed actor stars alongside fellow Oscar nominee Anne Hathaway in this Edward Zwick-helmed romantic dramedy.
Award Possibilities: He should have no trouble winning the Golden Globe, as his only competition (?) is Keir Gilchrist. The BFCA and SAG will probably throw him nods as well.
Oscar Nomination? Yes, but he won't win.
Someone posted one question from a newly published Q&A with Jake that's out for the release of PoP DVD. Here's a few other questions from the interview and a click link to it.
He talks about some injuries and ia a bit more serious about getting into shape and you'll see another familiar topic pop into his answers.
QUESTION: How much of the stunt work did you do and were you in the best shape of your life for this movie?
JAKE GYLLENHAAL: It depends what you mean by ‘best shape’. I cycle and I run long distances…10 or 12 miles. But I am not able to do that when I am the shape I was for the movie. I remember seeing lance Armstrong on the cover of a magazine and he was saying ‘I’m ripped!’ He was skinny and really gaunt but that was him ready for the tour. So that is being in shape in another way. But I was fit for doing almost any sport. I could avoid serious injury because I was strong and flexible enough. I am pretty athletic so I always feel pretty good and healthy.
QUESTION: What is it like to make a big expensive special effects film like Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time?
JAKE GYLLENHAAL: The thing about a movie like this that is interesting is that people tend to only associate it with commerce. For me it was always that it was so much fun. It is differentiating the actor with the businessman and the actor who says that he wants to be a kid again and have a good time. It was so exciting! Every day I would drive to work and it was like going to a sporting event when you are the captain of the team. There were thousands of cars lined up along the road for five miles and there was an army of film crew and then the sets were 100 feet high – all built with perfect detail. I don’t think you see that any more on a film set. So often it is green screen effects that are done later. But we could shoot anywhere because the details were extraordinary and there were thousands of extras. And some more were added in later – to make it even bigger! I would get in there and every day I did feel like a kid.
QUESTION: After working with you in this film, Sir Ben Kingsley says you have the ability to seemingly be doing very little in front of the camera and yet it’s just right?
JAKE GYLLENHAAL: With this movie I always looked at it like I was reading a children’s book to a child. It was that kind of style of acting. Because of his years of theatrical work and his history of Shakespeare, Sir Ben has an attitude that there is a sense of telling a story clearly and even theatrically. At on point I told him I felt as though I was speaking to a child and he said….exactly! I always feel that if a movie is good then an actor should have to do very little.
Q&A
BTW: Austin tweeted earlier this week he ran over 11 miles getting ready for the half marathon. How do you do that when you just started training for it 5 weeks ago?
You think he might be able to do so many mile so quickly because he's run with someone who runs " long distances…10 or 12 miles" before?
What can we say, It's an @AUS10NICHOLS kinda day here at @realonetreehill so um..."yo check it"
Austin got his S8 sticker.

I was thinking the same thing as I was reading that sentence. It's like that picture we saw this summer, where Austin's arms were ripped, yet we never see him going to the gym, or even tweeting about any kind of regular exercise routine. On the other hand, we sure do see and hear about another flexibly fit and in shape "princely" actor regularly hitting the gym, or in full workout mode. Kind of a combination Hump Day/Kama Sutra connection.
OK! Magazine has more behind the scenes footage of Jake doing fight training. And I concur with their headline "Jake Gyllenhaal Reveals an even buffer bod on Prince of Persia set. How is this even possible?"
Video
Just watched the link from RealOneTreeHill of Austin ...so um.. yeah.. you just got to see it for yourself
And wow Sensitive Julian is picking up in the cooking dept. You think he's gotten some one on one cooking lessons?
I made my baby a nice omelet with goat cheese. Sliced tomato and basil on the side. Some fresh fruit and yogurt. And fresh squeezed OJ.
Just an FYI, Sophia has been directing episode 8.06 this week, so don't know if that impact "weekend plans". You know you gotta stay on schedule, especially if you're the director.

Well there was that Pilates excursion with Jake and Sophia.
He also recently tweeted that Maroon 5 was playing in his gym. I suppose he could have been in the gym to listen to the music. But not likely.
Was thinking about it, Austin had to left NC no later than today to get ready for his weekend. (Think about how many flights in how few days)
And wouldn't he like a day to catch a few waves before Sat's event? Despite Earl, don't think he caught anything as big as the waves he wants to catch on Sat.
After his hump day tweet yesterday, it makes you wonder if he was on his way home or was already there.
And who might have reminded him of that?
Herr Direktor(of the week)? Nein.
Sien Ehemann? ; )
Oscar Nomination? Yes, but he won't win."
Now that's a laugh. If anyone has a shot getting an Oscar nod, it's Anne and she's no fait accompli considering how TIGHT and competitive the Best Actress race will be.
Jake will most likely garner a GG node but he won't win. They don't reward Best Abs.

When will Jake stand up for Gay issues the way he used to. At least Austin has the guts to tweet about Prop 8. Athough it is great Jake is standing up 2 cancer.
A federal court in Riverside, California, rules the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy is unconstitutional.
I am really surprised at the court ruling, but thrilled too. And gee, our fierce advocate is planning to appeal.
Jake and Anne in W Magazine.
"Michelle Williams and her ‘Blue Valentine’ costar Mr. Gosling nabbed the cover of W magazine for a “Boy Meets Girl” theme that features couples from upcoming romance injected films. Justin Timberlake and Rooney Mara are also in the magazine with Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway."

All this Oscar talk for a performance that has barely been seen is funny. I cant take it seriously, especially when I see so many mentions of other actors on various sites.
Hopefully someone will put Austin's surfing in the event up on you tube so we can see him in action.
I didn't see Jake's name on the list of celebs participating in the telethon?
Well Real M, can't that be said for all those other movies/actors getting lots of buzz, too???? LOL
Jake's career could use a boost. My best bet would be a Golden Globe nom. Anne could get an a Golden Globe nom, a SAG nom, and a Oscar nom. Best chmnce for a win would be a Golden Globe.
