Some say love is the drug for others it might be a placebo effect.

Today it's Love and Drugs.

Not a bad way to start the holidays seeing Jake on screen again. OMG was lucky to get a sneak peek through an early review from fellow OMG'ers, now the rest of are getting a chance to get the full prescription.

Jake on The Early Show talking to Harry Smith.

For those up baking, cooking, or playing with their bird late tonight, there's one more interview for opening day. Jake and Anne will be sitting down to chat with Charlie Rose about the movie. Somehow can see it being a discussion about the pharmaceutical industry and what defines a romantic comedy. Doubt Charlie will be delving into the topic of merkins and tape related medical injuries.

Dispensing the with seriousness, let's talk turkey. With Jake showing so much on screen that he could freeze his giblets, there must be an opinion.

Thighs, wings or the parson's nose? ; )

OMG Medical Moment

Some Viagra facts you might not know.

Viagra is a vasodilator, which relaxes the smooth muscle in blood vessels, causing the vessels to widen and increase blood flow. The drug was designed and tested as blood pressure medicine, while testing it showed... ahem side effects in male test subjects especially surprising in those who had impotency caused by medical conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. Pfizer knew they had bigger drug star on their hands.

Some side effects of Viagra can be nausea, nasal congestion, loss of hearing, loss of vision, or seeing things in blue tint.

That there are little blue pill parties in retirement communities. After the introduction of Viagra they saw a steady rise in STD's in nursing homes.

What the heck is going there and who knew that seniors where getting more action than their grandkids. The rate of STDs in older men taking drugs like Viagra is twice as high as in their non-medicated peers. Maybe there's a market in making condoms with easy open packaging.

Viagra is being prescribed for other things besides E.D. like scleroderma. Scleroderma is when collagen builds up and hardens in widespread connective tissue involving changes in the skin, blood vessels, muscles, and internal organs. Viagra relaxes the smooth muscle in the blood vessels to send blood to the hardening connective tissues.

Yeah I could have gone with Love is the Drug by Roxy Music for today's song. But something about Dr. Order's make me think the boy from Disco Club could sing this quite well to a very tall Texan.

This is about Jake and his current style.

Jake Gyllenhaal doesn't need a lot of help to look good. But one of the reasons he's been looking extra-spiffy lately is his relationship with the classic British fashion house, Burberry.

Burberry's Chief Creative Officer, Christopher Bailey, told StyleList, "Jake is a hugely talented actor and he always looks immaculate whether hes in a suit or a trenchcoat and jeans and I love his attitude to dressing and his own personal style."

Somehow I went from watching a video about wild turkeys to watching Jake Gyllenhaal. I approve.

The most interesting thing about that interview, besides Jake actually allowing a gay reference to enjoying being under Brad Pitt, is the news that Zwick did not want him at first. We've seen what 20 or 30 interviews and this is the first time that came up? Odd. Or maybe these 2 are hints of a change in strategy on Jake's part. We'll see. I am happy to see him still evading being pinned down to females.

Late last week I landed a very large account at work, making me a hero for the month of November. The down side of a big account is that it has sucked up a great deal of my time every day since. I want to make a few comments re the RT criticism that came up yesterday as I did not get back to the site until now. You can try to spin it however you want, but facts are facts. There are now 79 critics reviews, with 46 of them rotten. I did not write them, just brought them to our attention. I am as surprised as anyone by the number of negative reviews. As to the audience scores, I don't pay attention to that unless the count is high. Why? They have no influence until the numbers are significant and at about 14,654 last count for LAOD represent minimal box office. The Dark Knight got almost 400,000 audience reviews. That is a number to take notice of. Besides, I have no idea who the RT community audience consists of and what their standards are, whereas the critics have a track record and reputation. Professional opinion versus guy on the street.

Good comments from Indiewire

Gyllenhaal’s Strengths Evident in ‘Source Code.’

I wasn’t too wild about the Jake Gyllenhaal-Anne Hathaway vehicle “Love and Other Drugs,” which I wrote about in this new essay for indieWIRE, but let me clear: I have an affinity for both of those actors. Hathaway’s bold willingness to play against her star persona with her icky rehab-bound character in “Rachel Getting Married” proved she can really inhabit the skin of a persona, no matter how unpleasant. And Gyllenhaal has always impressed me as the rare leading man to combine youthful vitality with a mysterious dark side, as he displayed in performances ranging from “Donnie Darko” to “Brokeback Mountain.” Now comes “Source Code,” director Duncan Jones’s highly anticipated follow-up to the Sundance hit “Moon,” which was the rare actor’s movie that also managed to play well for the fanboy crowd. With “Moon,” Jones gave Sam Rockwell one of his best roles by simply allowing to talk to himself for ninety minutes. The ambitious theatricality of the set-up merged with the coolness of the premise. A flashier, more expensive effort, “Source Code” looks like a tougher trick for Jones to pull off, as the trailer suggests a supreme high concept: “Run Lola Run” meets…I don’t know, “The Matrix”? But the point is that Gyllenhaal looks pretty great in it—frightened, confused, and hopelessly driven against impossible odds.

That wouldn’t matter much if “Source Code” didn’t look like a pretty wild temporal experience, but this could indeed be an ideal match of performer and subject. I like:

"It's an honor to be underneath Brad Pitt, it always is. I have to say -- it was a tough job. It gets harder. ... I'm getting older."

I had little laugh over this one.

I also did a little double take when Harry Smith called Jake long in the tooth when he was talking about Jake turning 30.

What the heck is gonna happen between now and April? Jake is the type who seems to think he has to keep his name in the news. Personally I hope it is a boring few months and Jake lays low. Then I can see Source Code which looks like it could be an entertaining and fun movie.

One thing I have grabbed onto a little bit and I am glad people caught it. Jake avoided looking for the perfect woman answer he normally gives when he talks about committment and life. Yeah!!!!

December 6 is a busy day on the Gyllenhaal-Nichols calender.

An Aussie film critic tweeted that Jake and Anne will be on the red carpet in Sydney December 6th for LaOD.
