Still PoP n'

The Big Mouse is still getting its money's worth out of the PoPpy Dastan first with releasing the DVD on September 12th, and selling the TV rights.

Couple things that are interesting about PoP: The DVD. First is that is release date. It is just under 16 weeks from the initial release of the movie, and it sneaks into the next fiscal quarter. The maybe seeing if it's DVD sales will help give them in the 3rd quarter (They did have Toy Store 3, but then there was Sorcerer's.) The Mouse did this with Alice, rolling the DVD out during the 2Q almost as an insurance policy, in case the summer did meet expectations and projections. Rolling it out in September also helps beat the huge clutter of family DVD that will be released for holiday sales, and will also allow them to discount it to carry the sales through the 4th quarter, as well as get some of all of those toy sets sold for Christmas too. And let's be honest, they will want Toy Store 3 to be the big DVD for Christmas.

But the question is will it sell? Well as well as they want. Usually it's the extras that draw sales, but Mike Newell said that there is not that many extras on the DVD.

What about all that extra footage that gets shot? Well "Newell says he added layers upon layers into the theatrical release the film, rather than cutting footage out, because that is how a Jerry Bruckheimer film (the film’s producer) would be made."

Did they "PoP their stuff" too soon, and gave up too much tying to get the first date for people to go see the movie? (How many feaurettes where there?)

But then "Newell responded to the lack of deleted and extra footage saying, 'we always add things that are fun and interesting for you guys to look at.'"

What would extra footage would you like to see? Maybe PoP: Behind the Scenes: The Little Dutch Boy in the Desert?

Now seeing PoP on TV? That won't be on Disney Channel, and not for a while. Disney's subsidiary ABC Family Channel picked up the TV rights (US) for PoP and Sorcerer's for airing in 2012. (Now's going to be some kind of show and tell for kindergarten) What did Disney Channel grab? Toy Story 3.

And one PoP before PoP'n off.
That hard body of work showed up in a different way. Men's Health Magazine picked The Best Summer Bodies of 2010, and Jake'a PoP bod made it into the top 10. While a Vampire, A Wolfboy, and a McBongo took the top three spots, Jake came in a very respectable 8th,ahead of Daniel Craig and Channing Tatum, and right behind the New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. Well hey he is supposed to play a Jet's quarterback if everything for the Namath picture comes together.

And where is the PoP'n Prince right now? East we know. North or South? But then again East is East.; )

Time to put POP into the netflix saved q. I've stopped buying dvds as they become obsolete every time a format change comes along.

Speaking of hot bodies. Check out the picture of Alcide in Ted's column today. I did not think they could get hotter than Eric (Skarsgard), but this new guy is off the chart.

I hope Jake's vacation is ending soon. Things were a bit too active during POP but the pendulum is swinging the other way now. We need to see some new Jake pictures.

Jakey is back in LA according to tweets and FB.

Show the tweets because looking up on twitter search for Jake Gyllenhaal, Jake Gyllenhall, and Jake G, see nothing about him in LA.

Sorry I didn't mean that sound like that. Please share the tweets that you have.

lol, sure you did, Special. Honesty is usually the best policy.

Only on here for a comment. I've been busy on my email and I'm at the ol' JoCo library stealing some internet time. They're re-painting our office conference room which is where I go to work on my story. But since I have no internet connection on my laptop at the dogs' house, I am on here now.

I am afraid there was some verrrrrry unfortunate happenings at the house as I was trying to leave for the day and so tonight there will be serious bonding time and I will not step out that door unless I have to. We had poopage on the dining room wood floor and on the nice crimson rug in the dining room. Consequently, it got all under both my shoes because it was dark and welllllll....it was a big ol' mess. So 3 mutts were unhappy I was leaving for work because it happened after they had been out twice already this morning. Mama was not very happy, let's put it that way.

Plus, her all purpose cleaner had bleach in it? So when I sprayed the floor with it, some got on my pants and took the navy dye right out and they're ruined.

**sigh**. Ahhhhh, dogsitting not always an elegant gig.

LOL, I'm still staring at that quote up there. Please share the treats, I mean tweets that you have. Special....lol. Sorry, it is giving me chuckles.

And lastly, because I have to hurry.

Austin's s*** twitter reminded me of the unfortunateness this morning. Not good memories.

That guy.....seriously, though, if he were hetero, would a girl take him to a nice, sitdown dinner with the 'rents? I don't think so.

Another observation. Who has time to twitter constantly on their phone like that? How do you get your work done? Are they on break all the time? When they shout, "Roll 'em! Action!", does Austin & Sophia hold up an index finger, say "Hold on just a minute!" and finish their twitter?

And then head over to the scene to join in the filming?

lol. Uno momento, por favor.

See ya!

destiny said...

(((PG and doggies)).

There is a ton of down time when actors film, it's a lot of hurry up and wait. I see it all the time around the streets of New York, with actors standing around while they set the scene up for yet another take, get the lighting right, etc. Then there's the hanging around because you're not in the scene they are shooting, but you're in the next one, and they don't know how many takes or how long it will take for the one being shot to finish up. Austin probably has more time to twitter now than when he was on a break and doing other things.

destiny said...

PG, maybe you should bleach all of your pants, or maybe you could do a tie-dye look. LOL, I can just picture you wearing tie-dye pants to work.

prairiegirl said...

Reckon I could do it with these pants, anyways. They're short pants, you know like cropped pants. Dressy navy ones.

Lucy & Molly never go in the house but there was definitely mischief this morning. I'm fully expecting to find some nuggets on the carpet when I get back, lol. **sigh**. Animals are very smart and they have emotions.

I'm still trying to figure out what I did wrong. I went out once last night to the local Hy-Vee to get a few things like milk, etc. but that was it. I was with them the whole rest of the time. We went outside at 2 in the morning and then twice more this morning before the big bang.
They didn't even do it while I was in the shower, which is a popular time for dogs to do this kind of thing. It was right as I was wrapping it up to leave. And they knew that. When the music Soundscape station comes on, they know that means Human is going to work.

Rather traumatic, let me tell you. I'm not used to that much "stuff". Borders leave substantially bigger deposits than a little Yorkie.

sigh.

That sucks that it was a good pair of pants PG.

Animals do know when things are up, and they probably did get upset knowing you were leaving the house, and probably not sure when you'd be back. Our cats get a bit needy and "talk" a lot when we haul out the suitcases to pack for vacation. They know we're up to no good.

Maybe the dogs are missing their Mom and Dad who are away? Sometimes a change in routine results in accidents. You're right, animals do have feelings and emotions, and communicate. My Siamese talks incesssssantly if she wants something, and usually makes her feelings known. Maybe a little TLC will do the trick. :)

The BEST thing for pet (or human) poop, pee, blood, and wine, grass, etc. is Nature's Miracle. It's found in pet stores or online. I used it on my white couch, chair and bed when my dog bled all over them while I was gone (a minor paw cut that bled like a geyser and that's when the dog decided to sleep on the white furniture?!) I swear by it. It's not cheap but it's worth it. I poured a few drops on and the blood disappeared immediately, just vanished. It also neutralizes poop and pee odors and stains. (and lol no I'm not a NM employee)

Interesting that Austin see himself as a combination of someone who seeks enlightenment through the pursuit of wholesomeness, yet aligns himself with the Ninja warrior who uses covert, often nefarious methods for waging battle. A mysterious traveler in disguise, immersed in secrecy and strategic reconnaissance. How revealing that he doesn't associate himself with the Samurai who had strict rules about honor, bravery and doing battle in the open. A character study on how not to be noticed while still trying to be seen.

Then again, there's always his elusive yet charming sidekick who also likes attention, but wants to be left alone. You know that Far Eastern combatant who likes to wear a yellow jumpsuit and sing about things that don't exist, like hedgehogs doing karate. And, openly gay leading men who seek affirmation instead of discomforting contradiction.

I want to thank the person with the natures miracle tip.

You're welcome! They don't advertise so most people don't know about it. I also used their skunk formula when my other dog got sprayed in the face and all over her flanks by a skunk (lol it was awful- you have no idea) and it took the smell away. It's really good with non-pet stuff too. To me Nature's Miracle is like Goo Gone and duct tape: I can't live without it.

my pet stain remedy said...

LOL sorry Special, talking about pet stains and odors on a Jaustin blog. Anyway Prairie Girl you might want to hold off on Nature's Miracle. I was searching around a few minutes ago and found bad reviews of it. Apparently in 2003 they changed the supplier who made the enzyme formula and the "new improved" NM is not good. Sorry, I didn't know this because I have the old formula bottles (a little goes a long way so I haven't used it up). Anyway I found the original enzyme supplier company, Petastic Naturals who makes the real original product.

PG I'm glad we started talking about this because now I know about NM not having the original formula anymore and that Petastic is the one to get!

prairiegirl said...

So I wonder if Pet Smart carries this Petastic. I'll have to look for it. Tomorrow it's Barkley and Maizie, the wieners for most of the weekend. All is quiet here now, lol.

Well these things happen. Boy, at least it wasn't a skunk! That would be awful.

my pet stain remedy said...

Go to the website, "Shop" at the top and put in your zip/city and they list the stores that carry it. None near me so I'll get it online there or Amazon, whoever has it cheaper. Yeah the skunk was BAD. It was sprayed from a couple feet away so you can imagine the horrible stench. Lol forget issues like house-training,illness, surgery, costs, euthanasia- dealing with skunk odor on your pet is the REAL test of enduring love.

All I can say is Austin ought to be careful about what he brags on with regard to how green minded he is. Talk about setting yoYurself up for a fingerpointing. Banning plastic bags. And he never carries a plastic bag out of a store. Ever. Anymore. Nada. Zilch.

All reuseable bags. All cloth or biodegradable diapers. No wet wipes. Recyclable baby food jars. No lotions or shampoos. Because see, that's why shampoos and lotions have gone up. Oil.

What about bags of ice for coolers? You know, like for those outdoor music festivals.

Plastic bags that line that box of Cap'n Crunch? Plastic.

Plastic bags that razors come in? That toiletries need to go in to be carry-on approved for those red eye flights? Zip loc = plastic.

Yup, yup, yup, yup, yup, yup, as Al would say on Happy Days. It's great to be as green as possible. I just don't fancy shootin myself in the foot, lol.

Happy Birthday Me. Best wishes for many more to follow.

So sorry to hear about your ordeal PG. And just as you are freshly showered and ready to leave is the worst time ever.

It seems odd to me that there are no LAOD trailers out yet. Seems like many movies show them months in advance, but I guess each studio and distributor does marketing differently.

Heads up Destiny- there is a Bomer interview from Leno on ONTD. I don't have time to listen to it now but will catch it before I hit the hay.

destiny said...

Funny you should mention it M, I just finished watching it. Interesting that he said "I" am looking to buy a house, while telling a funny story, but he was wearing the wedding ring. He also said that he usually only has about 24 hours in LA-- I assume he means while filming White Collar, which means in a given week while working he only gets to spend one day with his family.

Just throwing that one out there since we often talk about how little time J&A seem to have to spend together. On the other hand, I'd be really surprised if Bomer doesn't spend all of his breaks from working in LA with the family. Don't know that can be said about J&A.

Don't forget all the planes he takes: OTH set, LA, Austin, NY, NOLA/the Gulf, the Middle East/Europe for that charity thing, and weren't he and the beard recently reported to be vacationing in Florida, Mexico, and Hawaii? I bet he eats yogurt from a yogurt cup every day and the OTH craft table uses plastic utensils. Plus all the water it takes to wash and rinse his high hair!

ME!!!!! Hey, you're kidding!! We must meet and have a hermana/hermana minifest!!!!
This is fantastic!!

high hair. LOLLLL.

And don't get me wrong. I'm all for conserving - hey, I drive a 4-cylinder and I don't go on my long antiquing trips anymore, blah blah blah. But I don't do near enough and I'm sorry, but where would we be without some plastics? Plastic comes from oil and oil comes from the earth which means it was given to be used so it's not "bad". Nothing Created is "bad".
We just need to be smart about our consumption and wastefulness. That's a start.
But to just try and quit things cold turkey without a backup plan is too hasty.

Sorry, I need alot of my plastics.
