Same photographer, two relationships, the head and shoulders aren't the same. Bur are the fingers and the toes?
Interesting that the poses are similar yet a different, what does that mean? Is there some symbolism to who's prominent in the picture and who's not? What is the message the photography is trying to convey?

Very interesting about the photos. I like the one with Kiki. Jake's arms are so thin, hard to believe it is him.

Photographers often use variations on the same pose, style etc. Tempting to say that Jake is always hiding behind women.

But look at the length of those fingers. I don't know girls with fingers/hands that long.

I don't think of Jake as having long fingers, not like Austin's. And now that I've had time to study it, I do think the arms look more like a woman's, unlike the legs.
Re Wicked's comment about Toothy/Ted, Twilight and Pattison rule right now. I think Ted knows that eventually that will wear off so he does not want to abandon Toothy, so he still mentions him once in a while. Who knew that PRs efforts would never be as successful as the next best thing coming along. Even in Toothy's heyday, he never generated as many comments as Pattison.
Pattison is so non threatening as Edward and that creates a following. It's when he decides he wants to be more than Twilight when his fanbase will change.
Some more info about D23 Expo, It's Sept 10-13, the Emmy's are 12th. It looks likely both Jake and Austin will be in CA that weekend. (It makes sense too that Love and Drugs will start production later in Sept. that between Jake's Disney stuff and Anne's maybe needing a little break after working on her latest)

The thing about that Kirsten picture is the wrists seem awfully narrow. But Jake does have narrow, almost delicate-like wrists. He also has sort of long and slender fingers, seems to me, anyway. But is the 2nd person actually hiding behind Kirsten? How could Jake hide behind her? Look how skinny Kirsten is.
Hey!! My sister subscribes to TV Guide and it came in the mail today. There's Austin & Sophia in there, towards the very front, looking excellent.
And I am quite excited to see that Austin got a bit of a scattered trail, oh yessiree he does. I swear. I was beginning to think Austin was like a Mexican Hairless dog. The guy appeared to grow no hair anywhere, lol. But encouraging to see a light dusting around the navel. This picture is alot clearer in person than those online pictures.
He's got a round, gold/bronze colored disc and the other thing is that squiggly, lightning bolt thing I thought I'd seen around his neck before. It's like a tooth, a lightning bolt, something along that shape.
Excellent, excellent coup for Austin to get in TV Guide. It's a foot in the door, that's what I say. And I'm telling you. I just have this feeling and that is that I can see Austin's career going places with this stint on OTH. He's got the great, charming personality. He's got the acting chops to do some things and that guy has got the hottest looks going right now.
And it's one thing to be a skinny minny like that Pattinson guy (or however you spell his name. He's like underfed or something.
It's another thing to be lean like Austin is but to be buffed in the right places.

You know what I do find interesting is the two pendants that he used wear with the blue/clear ones, showed up visibly around the time Ted wrote the first BI about Toothy.
Just like Austin blue ring I think jewelry, talismans etc are their connections with each other.

Was just going back through the old stuff and realize just how long it has been since Jake has done a TV interview. It's been too long. One thing about Brothers coming out is that will get to see him bring some of the sparkly charm back on TV. I love that he gets the giggles. I can only imagine how much he must doing other things of camera. ; )

I wouldn't put too much stock in what Austin is wearing in the TV guide picture. That was done as promo for the show so the costume could be strictly the characters, not his. Its what he wears on his personal time that I care about.
I am anxious for Jake's Brothers promo. What is he going to talk about? He cant discuss POP. He used to talk about his folks, but now they are divorced so that is a sore subject. Is he going to talk about coffee runs, shopping and being Reese's go fer?
Austin has always had a great core, he needed it for waterskiing. And he wasn't looking shabby shirtless at ACL. I remember him in an interview talking about his mom doing yoga, which would be an asset for flexibility in waterskiing. Wonder if he does too? But how long would that yoga mat have to be? Why am I thinking is he and Jake would be into perfecting Downward Dog.
Oh just send the nuns to hand me the keys to the bus for hell for that one. I think I need to go to confession for that one and I'm not even Catholic.
M- That's a really good question. I wonder if Jake will talk about getting the opportunity to work with his friends, especially Natalie on Brothers, if he liked playing the bad sheep, what it's like to work with Jim Sheridan, complete with a drinking story, and what's it like in prison. You know he will have interviews that sparkle and are fun no matter how serious the conversation. The question is if he will say anything about his personal life and if so what.
Jake will only talk about his personal life if his people tell the media it's okay to do so, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
Isn't TV Guide only available by subscription? Sigh, I'm going to have to find someone who gets it.

my question is: when are J&R gonna be ready for red carpets? why didn't they walk together this year? i felt like that was done on purpose, and after all this time letting folks assume they are together, it should've been a nobrainer. they didn't do it for a reason, and the only reason i can come up with is because they didn't want that extra level of coupleness to be attached to them.

ITA. I was going thru pics and the contrast between Jake+KD and Jake+Reese photos is startling. Jake and KD touched each other not only intentionally but in little gestures. They mirrored each other's postures and expressions, they laughed, they looked at each other and had eye contact in most pics.
Some think KD was a beard. If she was, then Jake's fauxmance acting skills used to be 1,000,000% better. Whatever sexual category Jake is now, IMO he was with KD back then and it was lovely. Reeke even with an Oscar winner can't fauxmance-act their way out of a paper bag.

Just saw the OTH promo pic on Spooky's site. Not a good one. I don't like the gothic'ness look to it. Maybe Gothic isn't the right word but it's kind of yucky. You know how Reeke values their privacy. You know how "protective" Jake has been of photogs around Deacon before in the past. Remember the big ol' stiff-arm?
It just kind of dawns on me that no one was stiff-arming the photog at the Chillmark race. No one was holding up their palms at him, wanting privacy or Greta Garbo'ish "I Vant To Be Alone" rants.
Interesting. Martha's Vineyard does seem to pride themselves on privacy and all that. So it makes me wonder if they didn't appreciate these pictures being passed around on the 'net and what about Mrs. Gyllenhaal? She was papped, too. Smiling as big as a crescent moon.
And why no statements from Reese on being unhappy about these pictures? Invasion of a "private family moment"?

I think I smell me a rat on this MV Chillmark race pr opportunity And I'm calling it a PR opportunity because it would appear to me that the Chillmark people are the ones who hired the photog.
BUT, since it's the Chillmark people who are for some reason not happy about the pics being published (and how on earth would they know about this?? lol, from the MV residents, maybe? I'm trying to figure that one out, too).
Otherwise, the statement would say something to the effect, "at the request of participants, we are asking this photographer not be asked back", etc etc.
He's certainly not being asked back at the request of Jake or his mom or Reese. Because the photog's right in his face taking that snapshot of Jake taking a Kodak of Ava. And he's right in front of Jake while he makes his goofy finish line cross. So you can't tell me Jake didn't see the guy. And he apparently didn't have any objections to the pictures being taken. Didn't seem to cross any "privacy" barrier or "private family time" barrier.
Sorry, it just kind of grates on my nerves all over again.
Anyway, I'm just curious why the Chillmark people would be unhappy. Does it just have to do with him making money and them not getting any? Or just him not asking permission? Would it have been different if he had just asked? Why would he do that anyway? You would think him being a photographer that he knows the ins & outs of copyright and getting approval, all that business end of it. And also, how would they hear about the pictures being on the internet?

Not loving the promo photo either. It is kind of cold, no feeling of connection between the actors, which is so not what the show is like. It looks photoshopped, and that background just seems stupid given how they are all dressed.
Strange about the Chillmark photographer. We know Reese doesn't care, or she wouldn't have allowed places to use photos of her kids. My guess is that they didn't want him to use the race for commercial gain by selling the photos, and perhaps they didn't want that kind of publicity for their race, wanting to keep it small and private. It looks like Reeke strikes again--using an event for the pr they want, so what if anyone else cares.
By the way, got the TV Guide, oh my is it gorgeous to see on paper. Austin looks ecstatic in that photo. I think he's probably really loving getting all this attention for who he is, and for his work.
As opposed to pap photos, where it was all about trying to capture his private life. And I think that has nothing to do with being gay, I just get the sense he is not that comfortable with that side of the business, just the way he is still quite nervous on the red carpet, etc. Makes me think of Ted's post about K. Stewart and how that aspect of her makes her so interesting and likeable. I totally agree, and feel the same way about Austin.

IMO the ruckus on the photog is about him taking extra pics, that he sold to the tabs, while he was supposed to be doing what the Chilmark race people hired and paid him to do. Depending on their contract: 1.) the extra pics are owned by Chilmark Race and he was unauthorized to sell them for his personal gain OR 2.) the extra pics, taken on the clock, are proof that the photog was not doing the specific job he was hired to do.
I see both sides of it. He would have been smarter to use an intermediary to sell the pics and not claim them as his, or just not take advantage of the situation in the first place. My guess is the Chilmark Race people are pissed that the photog took the pics while he was on the job and sold them behind their back, because they never would have given permissions for him to do either.

Thanks for the advice. I've thought a lot about how to participate in this blog. I like the people here and talking to them, but I am not interested in the subject(s) of this blog anymore. Mostly I try to talk about other things that people might find interesting. I guess I'll keep my feelings about the Ted analysis to myself from now on.
I always enjoy the links and discussions on gay issues. And I know Wicked you don't have that much interest in J&A anymore, but I always like to hear what you have to say on the topic because I think your disinterest makes for a more reasoned post.
Nobody should feel like they have to participate in a particular discussion. But neither do I think anyone should stop talking about something just because someone else, not even a regular poster, complains.

The Chilmark photostuff. Photog you got it. There were standard shot of the finish line, but it was the extra pictures that go him in trouble. Now you don't know if he did that on his own accord, selling them, or if someone asked if they could by the pictures.
The thing about the Vineyard is privacy and anonymity. You may hear about people being residents there but you rarely see them in pictures, unless is it something like the local paper as a local summer resident kind of thing, not having that used in wide distribution media.
Great job Boilerplate, makes you want to do a great big old mad lib with that. Oh how much fun would that be. But is so true. Most PR does come with standard structure press releases for anything they deal with, even for companies and products. HW does the same thing selling the coupling du jour.
They didn't have the most recent TV Guide when I checked yesterday, I will have to go back today and see if its out up here.
Have been reading the Philly Pap guys comments and he seems like a pretty nice guy. He was talking about Cole Hamels walking his tiny white dog through the park after a Phillies games and none of the fans there recognized him. Talked about the rat running over his shoe. And he even talked to Reese's bodyguard telling him that she should take the kids to the Please touch museum and the Franklin Institute. (I still remember walking through that giant heart at the Franklin Institute as a kid) And he has even said if he gets one picture he would leave her alone. I think she likes to toy with him, its a game, and she is getting more play out of it. He's best move would be just forget her and get pictures of the rest of cast. IT would drive her nuts.
I like that Philly pap. And good for Paul Rudd for doing the right thing.
