Did Jake know something we didn't?

Is it Prince of Persia or is it a looming strike that bumped Brother's? I don't see him doing promotions during a strike.

Actors union moves closer to strike vote

Loved the piggyback pics. Just loved them.

I think the reason Brothers has been pushed back is because it probably sucks.

Very funny post today. There are so many great reasons that I can't pick a favorite, although I think you got #1 right. ;)

Not sure the strike would be a reason, I really do think this is a very crowded year for films, and they were afraid the buzz for other pictures was just too great. It's been a bad year for smaller films, they get lost in all the competition. Even my diehard movie friends, including one who has a film blog, have found it impossible to keep up with movies are out and what is worth seeing.

Oh, forgot I had another thought about Brothers last night. I wonder if there are scenes they are not happy with, and they plan to do some re-shooting on the QT.

I vote for the sand problem. I leant a pal my camera for trip to mideast, my camera was totally ruined. & that stuff gets into yr every crevice. . .

Damn, if Jake and Austin really play backgammon so often that Jake can't even do promotion for Brothers, then they must be pretty sore by now ;)

But we know Jake likes an audience, maybe they should just combine backgammon and promotion work.
I for one wouldn't mind ;)

Cute post. Ah, yes, the infamous trailer visit. Such wonderful memories. It's a wonder it did not fall off it's blocks. At least we have The Infomers in February to look forward to.

okay, so just doing my random rounds of Jake pages...and I went on to wet dark and wild...and I saw the picture of jake in the white t-shirt with his necklace showing...the lightening one...well my mind immediately went to Austin's birthday pictures of the necklaces he was pulling out of his shirt...

The necklace that no one could really tell what it was (I thought it was a key, or a tinkerbell) but I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually the one Jake is wearing...I have not looked at the Austin's pics for a long time so I don't even know if they are comparable...but when i saw the lightening I thought of a key and that it would be similar in shape to a tinkerbell necklace then I thought of Austin's cake then got to Austins necklace (I know it took a while but I got there haha)...anyways I'm just saying it maybe tinkerbell necklace is lightening haha...hope everything is well, I'll try to check in more often :)

Washington Blade interview with John McCain

This is the first time a Republican nominee for president has done an interview with a gay publication.

Anonymous said...

I actually like John McCain; he's a moderate Republican, I liked him as Governor of Arizona - while I don't see eye to eye with him on everything, he's certainly not the worst example. It's his running mate I cannot support. Plus, it's time for a total regime change, not just President. We can't have another 4 years of Republican leadership.

Anonymous said...

Correction: That should read "senator", not "governor" from Arizona. ;)

Anonymous said...

His running mate is his running mate BECAUSE of him. Mr. John McCain should be ashamed of himself.

Anonymous said...

He needs her to win the conservative vote, because he had held moderate views which they did not support. He has her solely to win the votes of conservatives and women, and as a woman, I find that offensive, because she is not qualified, doesn't answer questions directly, and I'd rather vote for a leader who I agree with and who I think will do the right thing on the important issues, not because they are a woman.

For some reason Palins voice completely irritates me.

Any movie clubs coming soon?

Any movie clubs coming soon?

Have you been reading my mind Clarity?

It's something I wanted to ask everyone about.

Would you guys like a JFC discussion on the 3rd Fri night/ Sat - October 17-18th and a movie club the same way a Fri night/Sat 24th and 25th?

Does that give everyone enough time if we pick a movie this weekend?

McCain is a completely different person than he was 8 years ago, one of the biggest differences being his pandering to the conservative base. McCain is now against any kind of rights for gays and lesbians, including adoption, and wants to appoint judges that overturn Roe v. Wade and earlier decisions finding a right to privacy in the Constitution. And yet his chief of staff is apparently gay, having been outed in just the past week or so.

I think it's a great idea to have the movie club over two days too. I'm pretty open as to when you do it, I usually wait until the last minute anyway to watch whatever we've picked.

I say he shows up this weekend with The General at the Avon Breast Cancer Walk in NYC.

where's Jake?

In London, UK. Working.

Who gives a damn about The General?

I'm fine with these dates. I think we can pick a movie this weekend. There's so many I haven't seen. My first pick would be The Sum of Us. Still haven't seen that one.

I hope the busytime in Dec is Pop not a wedding. I asked TC if toothy's marrying his beard. I hope he answers.

This list is funny and really naughty

kristina @ 4:54.. gosh, lets hope not!!!

actually if they did I'd feel more sorry for Reese because it would say more about the value hw puts on women over 30 than gay men....some people may wish to disagree.

So if PoP wraps things up by year's end, and Brother's doesn't premiere until May, what do you think Jake will do in between?

Moon Project? Namath? Deep scholarly pursuit of Satre or Camus? Maybe a little stay at home duty?

destiny said...

I think he's going to take some time off, he's done 3 movies in a row, and PoP sounds like it's probably been a tough one physically.

Special K said...

Jake may be taking off, and Austin will be finishing up a few of the episodes for OTH.

destiny said...

Hey PG, now who is MIA. Hope you're okay and just busy with real life.

Hi Destiny! As a matter of fact, I just got done emailing Wicked (uh, Wicked, hint to check your email) about my future trip to D.C. I had some questions about airports & what not.
I just got home not too long ago from my PrePlanning Funeral class & I had to immediately tussle with my laundry so I could get my sheets/towels in before I leave for the weekend to dogsit my 2 favorite border collies, Molly & Lucy. They have a new brother, Jingles (a Yorky) because their mom lost both her parents this past year and he was their dog.

pant, pant, hyperventilate, it's been a nonstop day. I am now checking out my favorite website to catch up on what I've missed. Politics! Which I know absolutely nothing about! I have the debate on & am kind of listening, but I have no idea what in the heck they're talking about.

That's all I know. I would look for, or rather hope that Jake takes some time off. He's been hopping from one movie right onto the next and I bet he's exhausted already, let alone by the time PoP finally finishes shooting. Man, I would give up one of my favorite cookbooks for a big "oops" picture of J & A.

We got some excellent handouts tonight in class, just excellent. Funeral costs, the form for a living will/power of attorney, and forms to fill out stating all your funeral wishes, personal history, estate/financial info, etc. He suggested keeping copies in the refrigerator (because the butter's the last to melt, lol), our safety deposit lockbox, glovebox compartment of your car (in case of an accident) and take one with you to the hospital if you're going in for surgery (while there, you can update it in case anything happens). Oh my dog, I'll save it for another comment, but you should see all the expenses funeral parlors have.

In parting, he said a funny line, "Go in peace, not in pieces". LOLLLL! I thought that was funny.

I'm armed with my Netflex membership, bring on the next movie!! Although right now, I've got my limit of 2 out.

destiny said...

Hey PG. I've had 3 Netflix movies sitting on my tv for weeks now, I may have one of them back unwatched if we have a movie club soon. I've spent too many evenings on the internet and watching political/news shows of late, I'm even more obsessed with politics right now than I am obsessed with J&A.

prairiegirl said...

The copies I'm talking about keeping in those various places are forms that are for your immediate family, the ones who are going to be making the decisions. These forms will have all your wishes spelled out so there's no doubt. If anybody is interested in having copies of some of this stuff, I'll be glad to fax to you. I'm going to always keep a blank set, because I'm going to give some to friends & family. And did you know that you need to have your organ donation wishes (on the back of your drivers license) witnessed? If not, it's invalid. I didn't know that.

I know I need to get more informed about the election. I just sent off for my mail in ballot. Darned if I'm going to stand in line because you know this election will be one of the biggest ever. I just don't understand so much of it. I'm a registered Republican, but party isn't imperative to me. I just want the best possible candidate in there. Doesn't matter what they are.

One of the movies I have is Two Hands; it was one of Heath Ledger's first movies. I'll probably watch it this weekend while dogsitting. But then, she has HBO, so I always end up watching that; plus she has better cable, so I get to see Murder She Wrote on Hallmark channel.

killblog killed killbill LOL

the Star has a story about Reeke drifting apart.

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are discovering that absence does not make the heart grow fonder. The couple, who started dating in early 2007, are struggling to maintain their relationship now that Jake is working 19-hour days in Morocco and London on his next potential blockbuster, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

"This is his first epic, and his mind is on his work," a pal of Reese's tells Star. "They talk on the phone and e-mail, but he's not 'there.' Reese is wondering if this is how it's going to be between them every time he's out of the country filming."

The relationship hit such a rough patch that Reese, 32, flew to London for a quick rendezvous with Jake, 27, at The Dorchester hotel in mid-September.

"They really needed to reconnect and remember why they were in a relationship in the first place," says another source. "While there, they even went house hunting for a place because Jake will be using London as his home base until December. Reese doesn't like the formality of a hotel for her and her two kids."

Hopefully, celebrating the holidays together "will get them back on the same page," adds the source.

the saga never ends LOL

Spooky has new pictures of Austin filming OTH

AN-Journal

Anonymous said...

Thanks new pics! He looks different. Must be the supershort hair and he looks bulked up/gained weight. I like the last picture where he's walking down Wrightsville Street. Mr Wright!

Anonymous said...

Certainly looks like he's bulked up a bit (is that from one too many tagines, or has he been keeping someone company at the gym). He still looks damn fine though.

Anonymous said...

ITA Meg! When I meant he looked different I meant he looked great, really good. I like this look best actually. And I forgot to say thanks to Spooky too for the pics. Thanks.

Anonymous said...

Austin looks fabulous.

So a year ago, Jake was in super love and proposing every 5 minutes, and now he's 'not there' and Reese is flying to Morocco to spend a couple of days and flying to London at the drop of a hat to 'reconnect'.

Has Reese made someone mad on her PR team or on one of the tabloids?
Cause who's looking desperate now.

Anonymous said...

Please please please let this be the beginning of the end of Reeke! If they break up now the "relationship" could be too old news to discuss when Jake finally starts promoting Brothers next year.

Great to see new pics of Austin. I personally like him with longer hair but he looks fit.

And a great post as usual :) Great hobbies: backgammon and fishing
