Tonight is the first time we've seen Austin on TV in almost a year. He returns as Julian Baker (not Bennett as previously thought) an independent movie producer, and from the latest interview (Thanks Hjulia!) he's a troublemaker and pretty much a playah. Austin mentions Jack Nicholson when describing Julian, now we see what he was years ago courtside at the Lakers - Research! Yeah that's it.
Austin is got to dip his toe is bad behavior a bit before - Morgan Earpe and Noah was a bit bad, but it looks like that Julian is going to bring out the true bad boy. Somehow don't think it will be too much of a stretch.

You all have been on this website & following this guy alot longer than I have and I hate to see people like Wicked, Clarity, Destiny, & London so disappointed and thoroughly....I don't want to use the word disgusted (that's kind of strong,huh?)
I'm not emotionally invested in Jake or Austin, so I don't really feel too much no matter what they do. Right now I guess I'm kind of bored with them. There are other things that I'm interested in right now, especially with the football season ongoing and the figure skating season just starting up.
I invested in this election and the economy. Jake is doing his own thing. I'm worried about this country future.
I have my moments of anger PG, but I bounce right back, and by the end of the day I'm always laughing.
However, reading about HBO not wanting Austin in the new Milch does make me very sad. :-(

My feeling? Whatever happens, happens. I initially started to follow J&A because I thought it was such a beautiful thing, but, if it doesn't turn out that way, so be it. I'm still a fan, always will be because of beautiful Brokeback, but have other interests as well.

After spending several months in London shooting the Prince of Persia, Jake Gyllenhaal was home with Reese Witherspoon this weekend looking relaxed and relieved too. They made it work through a summer apart – my sources say they promised each other they wouldn’t go more than 2 weeks without seeing each other, which of course involved Reese flying to visit Jakey undercover every fortnight.
Check them out all happy and sh*t after breakfast in Santa Monica. Feels like we’re close to a carpet premiere, non?

Sounds like Lainey just caught on to what we've already known, that Reeke rolls out the appearances every two weeks, even if it means getting Atticus instead of Jake. And she's just using this as an excuse to get her digs in at people she doesn't like.

Interesting Lainey says it like Reeke live together because nothing says romance to me and it was obvious Jake walked off in the Feacon pics to go on his own way/car/home. I always grab a extra toothpick for my buddies if I know they like them. For a lover/boyfriend? Nah I don't want to see them pick their teeth and I want to sneak a kiss if I can. I don't follow NPH or Barrowman or that guy on Grays Anatomy but do you ever see them with toothpicks when with their lovers/bfs? Maybe with their best galpals or buddies but I don't remember seeing any pick pics LOL with sig others. Nothing says more than convenient buds/partners in PR crime about Reeke. Jake is physiacally gaining more distance and emotionally remote with every photo op. He's there, he's smiling but he's not putting on a romance act. I'm disappointed to find out that he won't get to work with David (at least for this project), but the part where he talks about OTH is very interesting.
He keeps on referring to his character as "I" (I piss Lucas off; I am the producer) for every question in the beginning.
But then they talk about beautiful women who might be love interests and Austin makes the switch to "Julian" (hopefully Julian will cross paths with them; Julian has a voracious appetite).
It's very much a Jake technique of making a point without actually saying it and I think he worded it like that on purpose.
I noticed the use of Julian with the women, but not the I in reference to other aspects of OTH. Good catch Stubborn.

I think Austin would have even more fun playing the bad boy if they let him explore more than what was just written in the script. It has to be tough going from a working environment with Milch were he soaked up the actor's improvisations and encouraged it to something like OTH were the book is the book is the book, you do not deviate from the book.

He wasn't here just for a weekend. Pap pics showed him leaving London on 10/22, a Wednesday. Pap pics on Thursday - Saturday, Deacon's birthday was on Thursday.Pap pics of Ryan taking him to karate class but a nanny picked him up,must have been when Jake and Reese were jogging or something.Pics of them and Deacon on Friday, most likely a party for him on the weekend. With 2 days for traveling (it's 11 hours non-stop) he was away for 6 days. A break in filming i assume.
So no Destiny, it is neither strang nor interesting,you must have known already that Deacon's birthday was Thursday, but i guess you don't want to go there because it can't be a coincidence.

Why come home now? He didn't for Ramona's b'day on 10/3 (okay he was filming and Matilda's b'day is this week I think and he will miss that) If there was a break in filming then he chose to spend it celebrating Deacon's b'day IMO.
He missed Ava's because he was in Morocco filming but this time around he was looking to impress, typical. Probably bought him a bunch of expensive gifts. Both kids ae probably spoiled rotten.

brentwood.. hate to start an argument, but the poor child didn't really look like he'd been spolit rotten by his favourite step daddy did he. more like he'd been dragged out of his bed / away from the his toys, to photo op with a virtual stranger. (I'd love to hear ryan's take on that little episode).
also, even if J&R are a couple heading to the altar, isn't it a bit inappropriate to overload a child that isn't your own with gifts, something bit off there IMO.
....and, if you're talking timelines, based on visible evidence, Jake and Reese could have been together for about 2/3 hours(including travelling time to/from home and photo up locale). hardly spending every waking hour together is it.

Since Ryan was a part of the pap-fest with the taking Deacon tokarate and having the nanny pick him up and take him back home (the captions i believe said back home to Reese). Onecan gather that the nanny took him home and he spent the rest of the day with Jake and Reese after their jogging adventure.
So i doubt Ryan said anything. Not saying they spent every waking hour together, but in the brief time he was in L.A. that's all you saw, he didn't come home after his birthday, it was a day before.

As for coming all the way for a weekend just for Deacon's birthday, both times Deacon has been with Jake, ( riding on his shoulders and now holding his hand) he looked as if he would burst into tears. Seems to me Jake is pretty much a "unknown quantity" to poor little Deacon. The younger the child, the harder to control their emotions....

Never saw him enter his own car in those pics on friday r the video. Saw the video and saw all 3 of them talking by a black SUV, he takes off and she and Deacon drive away.
In the pics on IHJ, there is a pic of himself walkiing alone he isn't getting into a car. next pics it's all 3 of them but you don't see the black SUV but they are standing in front of a yellow car, the Black SUV has dissapeared.
It looks like she drove either around the corner or down the block because it doesn't look like they are in front of the coffee place anymore, then she disappears and he is seen walking with Deacon.
Since he was still carrying the coffee cup, this happened after they left the coffee shop again no evidence that he got into his own car rather that he walked away and she met up with him. I assume she went shopping elsewhere and Jake got stuck with the rugrat.
Don't care when the last pics were taken, but please point out the pic or video where he is getting into his own car.
He flew into L.A. for the kids birthday, the weekend who knows but the only important date was 10/23, and it was important to show that they weren't using Deacon on that day for a photo op but Ryan was, we were led to believe that the nanny picked him up to take him home to mommy after she jogged with jake and friday in Brentwood it was made to look like he stayed over.
The little walking away and meeting up was made to look like they were trying to ditch the paps and not let them get a picture of them all getting in the car together and driving away but obviously they followed Jake and took pics of all 3 of them anyway.
You paid too much attention to his facial hair and didn't realize what they just pulled off.

I just got word that the Soul Men actor recorded a radio spot earlier today to urge voters to oppose Prop. 8, the ballot initiative seeking to overturn California’s legalization of same-sex unions.
Jackson joins other stars who have taken a stand against Prop. 8, including Brad Pitt, Steven Spielberg, Ellen DeGeneres, Barbra Streisand, Molly Ringwald and Fran Drescher, as well as Pete Wentz and his Fall Out Boy bandmates.

Late night tonight & a short post. Been birthday celebrating all evening and I am dead on my feet.
And yea, Lance did great on DWTS tonight, finally getting high grades from the judges. Hard to hear or see much else on the show what with my mom, aunt, & dad constantly talking over the show & interrupting all the time. And they watch it, too, lol. Good grief.
I don't know too much about all the times & days of this past Reekefest. All I know is watching those 2 is like watching paint dry. They're boring as all get out. Ted hit it right on the head tonight.
And the other thing I know is if anybody sees any kind of familiarity or fondness between Jake and Deacon, would you enlighten me? That show for the paps was exploitive and it was painful to see. Jake looked uncomfortable as heck standing there while Reese talked to the little boy. And he is still very little. I don't know how these 2 adults can do this. Everytime I think of it, I just cringe. It is just ridiculous to try and sell themselves as a readymade family unit when obviously after 1 or 2 years, these kids apparently really don't know Jake at all.
A little Jamaican music today. I had a college dorm roommate for 1 1/2 yrs who was from Jamaica. I love their accents. She was so enamored with America, it was a joy to introduce her to so many things that we take for granted and she just thought they were great.
As we get closer to election time, some things kind of bother me about government. And one of them is this deaddrop in gas prices. We are now at 2.19/gallon. No, I'm not complaining about the price. I'm just wondering why in the heck it's plummeting. Funny how the economy goes Southward, retailers are crying the blues, gas consumption goes down & Americans are traveling less, the stock market crashes, and all of a sudden, gas just miraculously starts falling at a torpedo's pace. What in the heck is up with that. This can't be a coincidence. And does this mean that all this time, the $4-5 a gallon price was just some big farce? How come when the economy goes flat, gas starts coming down to a more affordable price? Does the government think we're this stupid?
Anyway, that's been bugging me. I don't expect anyone to know the answer; I just had to throw that out there even though it's probably not a hot point.

You know what? Much as I didn't want to believe it, I think Ted has shattered this mythical image of Jake that's been out there these past 3-4 years that I had. I'm beginning to believe some of the cold views that I've read elsewhere and think he's not at all like I thought. Just like Ted is saying. In fact, Ted's writing tone is starting to sound downright bitter, not friendly at all.
Now that I read the column again, that seems to be shouting out at me. And he's also implying what I think I've been seeing and that is that Reese is further deepening & influencing this aspect. It's not painting an attractive picture at all and as I awaken fully this morning, I've got to wonder if I should be following the career & life of this guy at all anymore.
Funny how you can read something or look at something, then read or look again later and it can sink even deeper or reveal something further that you didn't see before.
